Worth the effort to get here. Can hike in on the Eastern Pines Backpacking Trail starting at the Achray Campground, or you can paddle to the North arm of Stratton Lake and hike a much shorter distance from there. Very busy in the summer. Much refreshing natural water slide into a small pool below. Even trying to find a parking spot for your canoe can be difficult with so many there.

From the marker High Falls Cheater Trail on Barron Canyon Rd - An easy enough hiking trail through the woods but with each way 4.4km, might be a challenge for some. Trail conditions were excellent with a few minor hills on the path out til you reach the lake. Then a mixture of small climbs and rocky scrambles over the exposed rocks add some fun to the adventure. There's lots of swimming holes and a great natural stone water slide to enjoy. Many families and groups enjoyed the sun and swim of a sunny long weekend day. Pack in some food and water as the swimming area is beautiful and you'll want to spend an hour exploring. The trail is good for hearty strollers all but the last 0.5km, but the rocky scramble might be a challenge for younger kids. Bring a life jacket for the water slide if that's something you want to try out - it's safe enough, but the current is strong. Definitely worth the trek to get there!

We enjoyed the 5 k hike into the High Falls. And what a delightful sight! Clear warm waters running from one pool into another and then another. The natural water slide was so refreshing on a hot summer day. Children, teenagers and adults alike finding joy in nature. And of course the waterfall was the ultimate finalé.

9km return trip to the parking lot. Amazing spot.

It's tricky to find the trail going to this waterfall but it's definitely worth the effort. We had the whole place to ourselves for most of the day. The water is crisp but definitely swimmable. Highly recommended!

Beautiful area for a hike, trail starting at the waterslides goes by High Falls all the way down to High Lake. Well worth a visit at any time of the year.

Great spot! 4.5 kms in and out. Worth the effort.

A gorgeous spot, have hiked in a few times. It's nice if you can manage to go later in the season when there aren't as many other people there.

Kevin Graff

Great views, good foraging opportunities, a nice relaxing place to visit

Amazing view, good 1h10 hike on the cheat trail with kids (8 and 6) and the swim is a great reward. Bring water shoes because the rocks are slippery and life jackets. Note parking and access to cheat trail is at marker 33.

I attempted to go today with a small group and we didn't make. We were accompanied by more than enough mosquitos and were blocked by a swampy area about 25 mins walk in. However I've been there before later in the summer and I didn't have any issues. Absolutely gorgeous when you get there. There is a natural water slide you can go down. Good place for the family. The trail itself is at an easy level. No serious inclines and most of it is well patted down.

8.5 km not easy with children, the water sledges were great, waterfall a bit disappointing
