This Park corresponds to the category of Park.
Great, quiet place to camp. Clean facilities with friendly staff.
Great camping and hiking and swimming
Beautiful provincial park, facilities and camp sites are well maintained
Beautiful in all aspects.
Smaller than most provincial parks I have visited but still beautiful. Decent amount of small trails, beautiful water, and not too far from the city. Facilities were well maintained which is always my biggest fear camping. Would go again.
Medium size Provincial Park on Ottawa River. It has a number of waterfront sites with good access to the water and place to launch a kayak or canoe. The hill top campground is set away from the water and catered mostly to large RV with some drive-through campsites.
First time at Driftwood and it was beautiful. Very nice grounds. You have vault toilets which are glorified outhouses but with flushing toilets and a sink with foaming soap to wash up. They were clean. Then you have the main washrooms with private showers on the side and a laundry room next to it. Showers are free. Awesome. Firewood was surprisingly only $8 a bag. You get alot. Canoe rental is $35 for 4 hours or $55 for 8 hours or $195 for 5 days. Had an amazing time.l
The Sunsets over the Ottawa River are beautiful. Site 29 was large, close to comfort station, water and had private access to river. Note*** if heavy rain; water pools across the site. We had been prewarned by our camping neighbour so we had tent in far back left corner on elevated ground. Site 74 trailer pull through site with electricity, be sure to bring extra boards or blocks. This site is not level and slopes quite a bit. Overall nice campground, will go back to tent on the river!
Very nice place for camping. Waterfront sites with no services and lots of sites up the hill with two services.
Very clean bathrooms, nice boat launch/beach. Ice, firewood available from camp store. Friendly staff.
Beautiful
Great park..small exactly what we like we will return
The most beautiful sunsets, great campground-long beaches just off of campsites, and great for families
Nice camp ground, clean, and friendly
Don't go here! I want to make sure I can get a spot for next year. This is a smaller park with a few really nice hikes. Waterfront access for non electric sites. Not much of a beach, but a nice picnic area and boat launch. Great place if you have a canoe or kayak. (Both can also be rented)
I grew up nearby. I love to spend time in the area. So many memories. Just like any place you might visit there are so many things to see and do. But since I grew up there I know where to go and what I want to do. Like swimming in the Ottawa River is nice. Also check out Swisha in Quebec. There's a waterfall close by where you could swim. Quite nice!! If you stay at driftwood park you will see some beautiful sunsets by the river.
Love it here.
Gorgeous camp sites. Loves this I wish was closer to where we live I'd go every year
Nice park and campsites, easy to get to. Beautiful scenery.
A very beautiful park! Amazing vistas! A nice day visit set of picknick benches. Even flush toilets! Great place for a day trip!!
Get the spots by the water and you'll enjoy your stay even more.
Beautiful camp sites with a beach
Nice camping near the river with a small yet good beach. They had great instalations too
Great park. Definitely recommend a spot on the water.
Great little park. Quiet
Driftwood august 2018. Probably the best sleep I’ve had in years, with the sandy beach and the waves. Not much privacy for as far as provincial parks go, but beautiful nonetheless. Only an hour and some away from Algonquin so I got some hiking done there as well, definitely worth checking out Barron canyon if you don’t mind travelling a bit!
We love Driftwood so much! It is very quiet and clean. Lots of trails to explore. The river is great for swimming. We try to make it back every year!
Great family site. Really good trails, nice beach and very beautiful sites. Clean facilities, boat launch and good store.
Great park...quiet and clean...except for the loons and squirrels ????...park staff are very professional Almost all sites are on the water.
Nice park. Lots of campsite on the water. Great view. Canada day fireworks from a cross the river.
Beautiful setting on the Ottawa River.
Beautiful small park. Quite place, beach is okay to swim.
Camped in one of the pull through electrical sites. Very quiet. Nice large and flat
We drove up from North Bay for a day hike at Driftwood Provincial Park during the off season in October. The gate was closed so we parked outside and just walked in. It was a short walk on well maintained roads before we reached a well-marked trail. There appeared to be three trails in total. The colours were amazing with yellow birch, maple and red oak leafs at their brightest. We took a good look at many of the camp sites beautifully situated on sandy beaches overlooking a pristine bay. But, I'm not sure we would camp on the waterfront camp sites since they are not private at all and right next to each other. But all in all, the park is incredible! I reckon, if you have a large RV or trailer you'll find lots of space to maneuver and only one or two really steep roads. Out of all the many parks we've been to in Ontario, this was one of my most favourite.
Beautiful views of the Laurentions just across the water. But just like its name, all the shoreline is filled with big and small driftwood pieces. Great sunsets though.
Love it, peaceful and quiet, will definitely be coming back!
(Translated) Beautiful place $ 46 a day plus bed (Original) Belle place 46$ une journée plus coucher
small but beautiful .water waa amazing clean and warm
Campsite 55 again this year. The site has washed away a little since the last visit and is not quite as big, but is is still ideal for it's remoteness from other sites and easy access to the river.
Nice spots
(Translated) Very good, quiet, needs to limit very long stays. (Original) Très bien, tranquille, a besoin de limiter les séjours de très longue durée.
Great place. Good clean facilities lovely view.
Clean sites, clean bathrooms, decently clean showers. This is our favorite place to camp, have been going for a few years now. All the staff we come in contact with are friendly. Sites are decently sized (we always stay at a waterfront one) and flat with a good firepit. Love it here!
Grate please nice people
A beautiful park by the lake.
Small sites. Clean. Nice beaches.
Beautiful park with amazing views. Non electric sites right on the Ottawa River. Hiking trails are rated moderate and are clearly marked.
Almost all sites are waterfront. Not a lot to do in the immediate area and the good stuff is still a 40 min drive away. Great experience overall!
Great place for camping, small day use beach
My new favourite provincial park. Small, quiet, great waterfront sites. Swimming was not awesome (so much pollen!) but very safe for the kiddos. Great kayaking, canoeing and day hiking. Not a place if you want to party or beach, but amazing for a natural getaway. Park staff were very visible and helpful. Unfortunately, there was a boil water advisory when we were there - not sure how common that is, but we got a notification ahead of time and were able to pack extra. Bonus: toilets are flush, not outhouse :)
Beautiful camp ground.
Can't beat the sunset's and we loved being right on the river. Water was kinda gross due to it being a bay and the pollen. But that is not the parks fault.
Love the bay, campsite was nice and facilities clean. The beach is nice and sandy with shallow water. Too bad showers and canoe rentals weren't available due to COVID. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would go here again if it wasn't so far from Toronto.
We keep coming back every year!
Despite a rough start with noisy neighbours, it turned out to be a great trip thanks to the professional warden who handled the complaint perfectly. Both sides were offered options in order to satisfy and everything worked out. The sites have a great view of the river and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
This is a small park with some nice hikes and some really nice sites. Definitely try to get a beach front site, since there are no pathways to get down to your campsite's beach except through other peoples' sites. This was especially true at the West River Campground, and made it frustrating to try and have access to the water without sneaking through an unoccupied site in the morning before the occupants arrived. Another camper told me there used to be pathways that didn't go through the sites but they have all grown over. It would be nice if a pathway was maintained. Of course you can go use the day use beach, but technically as a camper at that campground you should be able to access that campground's beach. This park seemed especially dog and kid friendly, and was very very busy (and loud). There were two days when we had to wait to get wood, or were only able to purchase limited wood. The park shop did not have any camping supplies (bug spray, lighters, fire starters, etc.)...but did have puzzles and plushie squirrels. :P I would return to this park in a less busy month and only if I was able to secure a waterfront site. The sunsets (if you can access the beach to see them) are definitely beautiful!
Trails need to be cleared and marked better. Staff were less then friendly. Only one comfort station for the entire park and not very central to all campgrounds. People smoking in vault toilets.
Fist time here very impressed! Beautiful waterfront sites! Good size lots! Good fishing right of your site! Nice beach area...will definitely be back!
The lots are huge. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We will book this campsite again but at a different time of year. It was bit to cold for our liking.
Great little park. Love the many waterfront sites with personal beaches. Great day use area with dock. The river is actually a big lake so it's great for canoeing. The hikes are quite nice too.
Top 10 campsites. Staff as always great covid was nothing. Everything was easy to keep clean and stay away. Site was a little rocky. Hard to find a spot to peg down. Helped make a seat. I dragged a beam out of the water and made a seat for kids and family's to tell stories for years to come around this fire pit. We always try and make the site better for the next family. We love camping. And this is why we love provincial parks. #FindlayForce #GrowingUpCanadian
Clean park. Excellent access for ???? ING and kayaking.
Lovely park that is smaller than most (a good thing in our opinion!). Lots of great sites with waterfront access, and enough sun to feed the solar panels.
Very beautiful scene and nice beach. Even though we didn't use the beach because of chilly weather, but the beach is nice and sandy.
Very nice spot and very clean
Great park with scenic view of the Ottawa River. Clean bathrooms.
Small, quiet, and with the best views. Wish life could be this simple always.
Beautiful place to stay
Great park with waterfront sites but my gosh the firewood they sell here is nothing but green bags of uncombustable frustration! I even had some pieces so moist they were moldy! Nice well maintained park otherwise.
Very nice campsite, beautiful sites well spaced and incredible views of the mountainous scenery.
This is a tough one. Many of the sites are gorgeous, but the park itself isn't (or wasn't, for us) particularly peaceful. Seems to be a magnet for people who want to bring all of their dogs and party. I'd give it a 5 if it wasn't for the noise. Perhaps splitting one side into a quiet side and another into an anything goes side would work. In the meantime, be aware. Also, the Giant Tiger in Deep River sells cheap earplugs
Very clean facilities (bathrooms/convenience stations are well maintained), easy access to the water from most sites (Ottawa East site). Fire pits are all very new and have a removable cooking grill. Our site had good privacy, but some are not very private (do your research on the ON Parks site - there are pics of each site with descriptions). Great beach area and Driftwood Bay/Ottawa River is awesome for canoeing/kayaking. Fishing was good too.
Small but nice. Check the camp site as some of them can be really small with no privacy from the road. But many sites are right on the water or have direct access to the beach. This is the non-electric only. The electric sites are in a different section up on a bit of a ridge. More privacy but no direct access to the beach. It is on the Ottawa River in a bay, so most days the water is smooth as glass. There are a few kayaks, canoes and paddle boards for rent on a first come, first serve, but the price is reasonable. Long hiking trails too, though the map is outdated. Limited biking opportunity do to a massively steep hill right in the middle of the park.
No kids play structures closest were in the town of Deep River. Staff not adequately trained in first aid. Beach was quite small and still covered in debris eventho water level have returned to normal for sometime. Staff was also not very accommodating. Would not return a second time.
Nice spot next to Ottawa river .
Beautiful park with campsites that are right on the Ottawa River. Lovely place to swim and camp, though most of the campsites are tightly packed so you are close to your neighbours.
Great park... We had a waterfront site with a awesome view of the sunset. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Our only gripe was the fact that we felt that Ontario parks nickel and dime on motorcycle campers - there were three of us, and we had to pay extra for the third bike. Technically speaking, 3 bikes are barely equivalent to one car. It wasn't a deal breaker, but still annoying.
We just drove by but I'm sure it's a great place
(Translated) Nice courtesy, imperatively lacking a good update. Lands, beaches and it would be appreciated that it is specified that it is necessary to have in its possession an electrical extension of at least 50 feet minimum. (Original) Belle courtoisie, manque impérativement d'une bonne mise à jour. Terrains, plages et il serait apprécié que soit spécifié qu'il est necessaire d"avoir en sa possession une extension électrique d'au moins 50 pieds minimum.
This place was amazing. Clean. Spacious. Very accommodating. And the fishing was out of this world. I will definitely be going back again soon.
Very nice
Beautiful park! Highly recommend checking it out.
Loved it!! Every non-electrical site is right on the river. Get there before 6 or pick up wood prior to.
Beautiful Park Friendly Staff. Some fantastic sunsets and fall colours. Beware the firewood is a little wet!
Park is quiet, small (only 80 sites), excellent swimming and fishing and great views.
????
Nice park. Hope to do some trails today and tomorrow now the rain has stopped
Sadly, I was disappointed with the location. I enjoyed my time there however I expected a very different type of park. I did not go exploring much beyond what was seemingly the destination, there were a couple of narrow feeling, deep woods trails - perhaps leading to larger, less man made areas. Nice view off the dock onto the lake, forest with piled up driftwood on the immediate one side and a traditional more urban open grass area on the other. Picnic tables and room to lounge on the grass along the lakefront. No formal type of parking. Not a whole ton of driftwood... Not a wasted outing, would recommend going for a visit just without any 'natural' nature feel; far more if not nearly all made feel and experience.
When my Mom told me we were going camping, I said to her “I don't want to go.” “I'd rather stay at Grandma’s!” I had told her. But she said no. And I'm glad she did! Because camping at Driftwood Provincial Park was the best camping trip of my life! Driftwood Provincial Park is an amazing place for a family vacation. My favourite things were the sunsets, the hiking trails, swimming at the gorgeous beach, and being in nature. Hoping to return next summer!
A nice park with a lot of waterfront sites. Some sites are not very private as there are a lack of bushes and trees between them in some areas. We were on site 32 of East camp. Hard to walk into the water here because of all the driftwood on shore. If looking at the water, the left side is not private but the right side is. The best waterfront sites in East camp are 7, 8, 9, 13, and 14 (in my humble opinion). They have a beach and are pretty level. We had a blue-green algae warning and saw the shoreline along the park had a lot of it our first day. The next 2 days it was gone. There is a lot of extra parking near most of the sites so if you have a boat there is plenty of room to park your boat trailer. You can even anchor in front of your site which was pretty neat. The comfort station is clean and has showers and laundry. The secondary toilet huts are flush toilets which is nice. No lights inside though so bring a flashlight.
Amazing views. Staff were super helpful when I locked my keys in my car
Nice Park
Prettiest park I've been to and very clean with friendly staff
Very clean. Great staff. Absolutely love this park and expect to be returning several times over! William at the office was extremely melt helpful and very professional.
I am in love eith this place. It's so beautiful that I didn’t want to come back to Toronto. Next year will definitely go for at least 3 days. Washrooms are mostly vault toitel with flash! Amazing thing is it also has a comfort station which is pretty good and clean flashable washroom and shower station.
Nice family camping.
Incredible sunsets and campsites right on the water. The bugs, however, were ferocious and the blue, green and yellow hiking trails need maintenance that has obviously been deferred for years.
Went kayaking in the waters from up river, it was a lot of fun.
Beautiful park, great for camping!
Love this place.
Such a beautiful place and the staff is very friendly and nice. We took a chance to stop even if it says it was all booked. And we got lucky that two sites were available. One night water front which was an amazing site. I felt that the site was partially private which is amazing and the bathroom were very clean. Have only positive to say about this beautiful park, so far one of my favourite♥️
Great camping sites right on the Ottawa river.
Amazing,
Very quiet and beautiful!
Great small park right on the Ottawa River.
Great quiet park. Beach is a little rough.
Have been a few times and absolutely love it here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Park is well maintained. Great trails and beach for all ages of kids
Nice camp ground lots of hiking trails,
It was a great couple days, beautiful site on the water but it is very windy but the park is very clean and nice. Washrooms are always clean and hiking trails are great.
Clean, friendly staff, quiet park. firewood here is terrible (soaking wet) buy your firewood somewhere else like down the road in stone cliff.
(Translated) Beautiful lake for bathing his toilets smells a lot of mosquito and fly (Original) Beau lac pour baignade toilettes sa sent mauvais beaucoup demoustique et de mouche
Just one night passing through. Back in electric sites, hugh but not many! Pull through electric OK but some not very level . Will visit again if opportunity knocks
Beautiful
Was in site 55 which was private on the waterfront however very windy. Just a little maintenance needed in the washroom and beach or I would have given 5 stars
Lots of nice sites on the river. Overall a nice park.
Your kids will love it had a great time
Beautiful and the staff are great
Always a good time at driftwood!
Only suggestion is we would like to see a quiet area for senior citizens.
Great sunsets, lovely walking trail. Great little park clean with updated facilities.
It pet friendly i love camping there and you can swim boat rides go fishing hiking go every year.
What a great place to camp with family and friends
Always love going there. Nights are awesome. Place is scary quiet. Staff are very polite. My wife and son love this place as well.
Amazing time with my family !!! Staff was super friendly and helpful! Beautiful piece of heaven!!!
Some of the best views. Great spot for the whole family
Beautiful park, really nice site, a bit rainy, but we're in a trailer, so bring it on! I am Canadian, YOU CAN STILL DRINK BEER IN THE RAIN!! Happy Canada Day to all!!
Great place to stay. We had a spot right near the water. Only drawback was the sites are close together and do not offer much privacy.
Wonderful hiking trails for a day trip.
Small and quiet. This was perfect little gem nestled and tucked away that I've lived in the area of, but have never visited. I would say 80% of the sites are river front and offer gorgeous views and perfect for launching from for a paddle or anchor your boat from the launch about 5 minutes to the south off hwy 17!
Great park. Had an issue where my camper wouldn't fit onto the site it was posted for. I'm glad they fixed this issue for 2017.
Beautiful park with many sites right on the water. Great for families or groups of friends. You can watch your kids play in the water from the comfort of your own site. Go for walks in the gorgeous woods, but do keep in mind that they no longer groom it, to keep it more "natural", or whatever hipsters are calling it these days. They offer kayak/canoe rentals at fair prices. Ice has gone up in price over the years to $4.25 a bag! Campground can be somewhat noisy, depending on who's camping, but it's still a very peaceful place. Book your site well in advance!
Loved the sites, canoing and hiking trails. Beautiful park.
(Translated) Family camping. Not very private. Sites on the river keep you close to the water. (Original) Camping familial. Pas très privé. Sites sur la rivière permet de rester proche de l’eau.
We love this park. Favourite place to camp so far!
Nice park. Good hiking and great scenery.
Great park, can't wait to go back
Quiet, clean, no mosquitos, good fishing. Really enjoyed my stay.
Great park, beautiful beach! Group camping is really nice. Staff are very friendly.
Great provincial park to camp at. Lots of sites back right on to the beach. Backing in to some of the sites can be difficult if your trailer is larger than 27'. The public washrooms are ok but could use an update. The beach and view is really why you come here!
Amazing
A really beautiful park! It is a hidden gem.
Beautiful park right on the Ottawa river
good park most sites are decent a couple of the pullthroughs are not level 72 73 74 beach is nice and shallow trails are nice we saw an albino squirrel
Great sites on right on a small beach. Great view
Just in and out ...but it looks like nice site
Camping sites are semi private, beautiful scenery, full washrooms with showers, and water front beach sites, I'm looking forward to coming back again.
Beautiful. Quiet. Clean. Off the beaten path
This is a wonderfully quiet and peaceful park. Also the only park I have been to where I can say it is quieter in the electrical sites than the non-hydro (which are more along the water). Very well manicured park and clean, I have never seen a garbage and recycling area so tidy, they were trimming around our site when we arrived There are a lot of extra water Taps not showing on the map along the pull throughs area making it very easy to add water if you need. There are lots of hiking trails and the main beach is really nice. Most of the non-electric sites are right on the water with many having their own private beach.
Beautiful park, nice walking trails. Far too expensive for a site though. Hard to justify spending over $130 for a couple nights out in the woods. The wood is terrible that they make you purchase though. I've had 3 bags and all have been wet wood. Does not make for a good campfire.
nice quiet campground, but very expensive, $41.00 for one person one tent no services.
Beautiful park. Nice sites. Good hiking tails . and the night sky is beautiful
It's the views that sell the place. Amazing views from campsites in the Ottawa East and Ottawa West campgrounds. Almost all these campsites are waterfront, some with their own section of beach and most with their own canoe or kayak launching points. The sites themselves are small and close together with few privacy viewblocks from adjacent campsites unless you choose your campsite very carefully. The park staff are great. The second night was noisy and they took my noise complaint seriously. Didn't hear anything the third night! They have regular foot patrols and make sure people get to appreciate the river and natural surroundings instead of poorly behaved children screaming at the top of their lungs at 10:45 PM right in front of your site... The trails are in need of maintenance for sure. Loop 4 is completely inaccessible at the moment as both bridges leading to it are out. Loop 3 got very thin and overgrown in places but has a fantastic off-trail lookout. It's all about the views though!
Very nice, smaller provincial park. The staff were all very courteous. Getting last minute supplies were a short drive away from the park; about 10 minutes to Stonecliffe or 20 to Deep River.
Driftwood Park is a beautiful spot but the sites are small and not at all private. That being said the river side sights are convenient if you have a canoe or kayak you can leave right from your site into the river and the views are breathtaking!
Great experience while park was about 25% full. Sites are squeezed pretty close together, expect minimal privacy if you're going during a peak period.
Very nice park. Lots of hiking trails and various options for camping sites.
Very nice provincial park. One of our favorites.
(Translated) Beautiful (Original) Très beau
Great park, especially if you can get a waterfront site and there are lots to choose from! Spent the first few days at electric site then moved to a waterfront site. Deep River is about a 20 minutes drive and has everything you'll need ie grocery store, gas, coffee etc...
Beautiful park, well kept, nice pull through spot. Will definitely return.
great spot
Beautiful spot
Sites are clean but ours at least at an angle, restricting where and how to park the trailer
We have had a great week here with our family. The place is super clean staff are friendly. We have enjoyed the many hiking trails. What a beautiful spot along the Ottawa River. I wouldn't be surprised if we stayed here again.
Beautiful place, well maintained, and quiet. Campsite was right on the waterfront
Very nice park for camping. Most campsites are along the water with easy access to the Ottawa river right on your campsite. Some have more tree coverage than others. Staff are very friendly. We arrived on Civic holiday, their office was closed but the park ranger gave us ice and firewood which we paid for the next day. Would definitely recommend if you like being next to the water!
Excellent week of camping right on the Ottawa river. The staff kept the waterfront clean and bathrooms cleaned frequently. Book one of the waterfront sites of possible, being 20 feet from the water makes for easy swimming and kayaking as well as playing with the dog. The ice cream stand at the outfitters just outside Deep River is worth the trip in, Kawartha dairy is fantastic!
Camp sites are a bit close together, hiking trails are nice though.
Wet but nice place to get away
Not end canoe trips there it is far from home! :(
Beautiful, but as a US citizen, expensive. Wish the US National Parks had the showers and laundry facilities.
Great camping
