It's a great walking trail with two steep hills
I needed a single stick to cook marshmallows with. This lady says "no harvesting from the forest." How much damage was 1 stick gonna do? Now my wife and I cannot roast smores
Easy access and ample parking
Amazing nature, water, greenery, mountain views, the clouds ???????????? a very nice place for a walk, or simply sitting there enjoying some quiet time. Barbecue is allowed, picnic tables available. Public washrooms also available. Camping site on the east side. I saw some kids playing in the water too. Not a lot of parking though, so be there early. It was a hot day, but it gets chilly very quickly, the air is much colder there so bring something to keep you warm if needed
It's a great place to take walks, bike rides and running ????♂️.
Wonderful park for the whole family! Also ideal for summer RVs.
Beautiful as always. Great for pictures!
Lovely area beside the river with parks, picnic areas, BBQing is allowed. Well kept, clean and peaceful.
Nice little beach and picnic area on the fraser river
Great local park dog friendly nice river views
Beautiful spot and there is a campground right by the river.
Short walk but nice.
Very peaceful!
A flat but pleasant walk in the woods and along the water. The historical bits are more representative than true relics. They do give people an idea of what was once there though. So good for people into that sort of thing.
Lots of trails, benches, and spots to walk right along the Fraser river. Park is very well kept, there is even a washroom at the car park.
Nice relaxing family picnic area. Not many parking, but you may park in st.
Great hidden gem!! Supper quite and really wet sand for kids to play with!
Stay away! Only because I want to find a parking spot :) this is a perfect park for heading out on a run or bike ride, taking your dog into the off leash area, or hanging out with friends watching the river go by.
Such a fantastic place for a hike! One of the few spots I got to see on my trip and it was fantastic
Beautiful part of the Fort-to-Fort and Coast-to-Canyon bike routes. Make sure to stop in Fort Langley for ice cream!
Fantasitc walks and amazing dog park zones. Only thing is the grassy parts are all bumpy and shii, but such a great park. 8 outta 10 BB
Derby Reach is a nice little park for a family picnic. It is on the south side of the Fraser River. It is located about 20 minutes drive from the Langley shopping district. Once you park your car. walk towards the park. You will find a stretch of river banks. You have an open view of the river and treed hills on the other side of river. To your right, there is a small campsite. If you follow the walk trail to your left, there are fenced dog areas where you can play with your k9 friends (one for small dogs only) off-leash. There are a couple of trails take you deeper into the woods/fields if you want to work off the little muffin top. Yes. There is public washrooms. There is a sheltered picnic area where you can be protected from the natural elements. Yes. It is outdoor with enough space for everyone to enjoy the fresh air mask-free. Enjoy and stay healthy.
You really can't go wrong with Derby Reach. Beautiful waters, great atmosphere, great people. If you live close to it you can drive over and just relax by the water until sunset. Bring bug spray to make your life easier. You can also camp here (I believe you need to book the spots), and also fish here with a license. Lovely park.
Nice long walk along the Fraser River with a deserved (baked goods) reward at Fort Langley.
Beautiful landscape, not too far from Fort Langley or Walnut Grove. The field is a little bit bumpy, outhouses could get redone, and mosquitos could cease to excuse. But otherwise a great place to meet friends or go for walks.
This riverside park has camp sites for overnight stays & picnic tables for short-term visitors, including a large covered area for groups which can be reserved in advance. It's a popular spot for fishing & BBQing. Suprisingly, washroom facilities are just outhouses. Although mostly a serene setting, trains run along the opposite bank & boat traffic can disrupt the peace. Park gates close at 9pm.
Special place for RV camping. Easy hike 5 km long. Wildlife, pretty field
Always a favourite! So much to do here! Perfect for walking the dog, or bike riding with kids, or having a BBQ with friends! Lots of benches and picnic tables, pit toilets, and an off leash dog park. On a holiday parking can be hard to find. No playground for kids but a huge feild for playing soccer.
Really nice dog park with many fields and meadows to explore, with the river right there for the dogs to swim is a bonus. Only issue is for an older dog I have to park on the roadside outside the park so it's closer to the dog park.
Nice to get a seat next to the river. There is a lot of open space for picnicking and trails for a nice stroll.
Nice up and down hike.
Enjoy a walk in the park and enjoy the view, nature and waterside.
Once they have real washrooms here it will be 5 stars
Always a favorite when going to this place. A great place for rest and recreation for the whole family!
A very good trail for a light walk. The trail road was in excellent condition. Good for families with young children as well.
Lots to do and see and appreciate. The Viewing Platform along Houston Trail, a few different trails, river view picnic areas... Great and large green space we shouldn't take for granted!
I love the nature here and being along the river is really nice. However, there are only two fire pits in the day camp area. It feels a little limited unless you get the regular camp sites.
I think most of the pics posted so far show the park near the Fraser River side. We entered from the Houston Trailhead near 102 Ave and McKinnon Crescent. That parking lot is very small (maybe 15 cars max). There is a washroom there. The Houston Trail is well maintained gravel. There are enough elevation changes to make it fun but not difficult. At the north most corner of the trail you can branch off to the Park Heritage Area which I recommend. It has large open areas with benches, and amazing structures with a lot of posted information. I loved the barn and found the decorative hole at the top intriguing. Especially the view of it from the inside as seen through the panels. There are multiple paths back the the Houston Trail. On the way back you will pass a rest area with beautiful north/northwest views. I look forward to visiting again when it snows.
Awesome off leash dog park with a large fenced in walking area. Their are trails with trees and a field to walk in. The best part is the river access for the dogs.
Cute park! Tons of grass space, which was perfect for our family bbq and soccer. Fun for the whole family!!
Derby Reach is really a long stretch of southern bank of the Fraser River. There are four distinct areas. From east to west, they are the “fort to fort parking” area (not a big picnic area, mostly for bike rides and trails), overnight campground, picnic area, and dog park. The picnic area has lots of picnic tables and also a covered shelters. Fraser River has a fast flow and is not really the place to swim or paddle boat; otherwise very nice area. Fires are permitted in the picnic area, of course unless there is a fire advisory.
Walking and biking in the woods and by the water is very good for the sole
Beautiful! I moved from Alberta and lived in BC for 6 months, we lived nearby and Derby was an amazing way to spend a day exploring!
Always enjoy the off leash dog park with my pets!
absolutely beautiful! the people are very friendly and atmosphere is great! I would highly recommend coming here for a walk! the trail does not take long to walk and can be done with ease by mostly everyone. Super clean and some amazing scenery, Highly recommended!!! :)
Fun Place for family get together.
Camped for the day and night. First come first served for spots. Beautiful area!
Beautiful spot! Good for a walk, run or a picnic! I recommend!
Lovely trail next to the river. Kids loved reading about the fort, looking at the trees and playing close the water. Restrooms did not look okay from outside, we did not venture inside. It is definitely a very nice walk along the river though.
Beautiful park ! Amazing place for gathering with family and friends.
A beautiful park for picnics. The view is stunning, with the surprisingly clear Fraser River framed by lush forests. The kids love to sit down, have a barbeque, and watch the water. The sunsets are simply stunning. Be aware, there isn't sand here as it isn't a beach.
Go here all the time. Great for bbqs, picnics, fishing (when open), or “urban” camping. Also kayak to or from as the gravel beach is easy to launch from.
Trails!! Love this place will eventually camp out !
Fun loving place..Nice place to spend with family...just few kilometres from city...kids enjoyed a lot .????
Great park near Langley! Lots of room to spread out on beautiful grass. River is a little dirty but it is nice to sit by. Will come back!
Very quiet regional park, not big but have a few dog parks on the left side…
Lovely place for taking a walk on a sunny day or going for a picnic with the family.
Beautiful but a little busy even for a cold day. Definitely will return on a weekday
The Edgewater Bar off leash dog pens are great for puppy playdates! There's a smaller pen for small dogs and 2 larger pens for larger, more rambunctious pups. The second off leash pen has a loop for pawrents to walk while their puppies play. The first off leash pen also exits to an unsecured off leash area which leads to the Fraser. The enclosed pens are great places to practice puppy recall and to celebrate puppy birthdays too!
Love this park & trail. As a runner, Derby Reach/Houston is a mostly flat trail with lots of canopy coverage from trees (shade during sunny days). A few hills, but nothing too crazy. Plenty of routes to choose from and extend your run. The park itself is always filled with runners, cyclist, campers, and walkers. Parking can get crowded on holidays, so you may have to park on the sides of the road.
Awesome park and campground. Clean and well maintained.
Beautiful. Multiple trails for a difftexperience each time.
Derby Reach is a great place to walk in nature. There are trails to follow and such lovely scenery! We enjoyed a BBQ lunch on a sunny Saturday afternoon in mid October. We got to use a couple of picnic tables in the shelter right by the Fraser River with a fire pit right on the river bank so it was just wonderful! After we packed up my hubby and I walked for a bit since it was my first time there!
A beautiful brilliant place with the most peaceful surroundings and all the while having a lot of picnic tables to choose from. The trails are amazing and accessible. Nice open field as well. The bathrooms are accessible as well. There’s a dog park just a few minutes from the main parking area as well.
Great place for camping! Very nice view for Fraser River! Very convenient place Easy to access by car! Lots of parking lots available Clean place Highly recommended
Great place for a leisurely bike ride, walk or just taking in the scenery.
beautiful and easy walk place, lovely trees
Good but so many people
Ample parking. Nice Fraser river view.
Lovely park along the Fraser River, excellent for walking & a few campsites for those who want to stay a couple of days.
This part of BC looks like a movie set. So peaceful and chill
This is a really nice park to hold picnics and to get together with family or friends to hang out... my dog loves going down to the river and cooling off on a hot day. Make sure to go early since it gets crowded on the weekend... weekdays there is plenty of parking. Always had a positive experience here, and met someone who drove all the way from Oak st. in vancouver just for Derby since his dog loves it so much.
Family friendly camping area. Nice view and lovely river you can look for while camping
Awesome place to visit and have a bbq
Gorgeous walk. Not too long. Very relaxing. Dog friendly.
Love sitting by the River. Always something exciting going on.
Beautiful place for a long walk. The trail connects all the way to Fort Langley. Big field, picnic benches, camping spots and a dog park.
Enjoyed a sunny day in this park last week. A few things have changed since we were there last. The dog park is will open and active after going there we headed for the river where a dog or 2 where cooling off.
My Dogs love this place!
A great place to BBQ things and sit around the fire pit. They also have an overnight campground for car and RV camping.
One of the best off-leash dog parks in the valley. Wonderful fenced but open spaces to relax with pet. River area for them to enjoy the water.
Beautiful. We went around the time of sunset for a photoshoot and it was worth it. Amazing time.
Wonderful place for kids and fishing, a lot of dude fishing sturgeon there. But last time I was there, there are a lot flying ant, every step you take will kill 10 flying ant on the beach. Bug spray can't not keep you away from been bitten.
Nice selection of trails to walk from flat to hilly. Parking lot is a bit small considering how large the park is.
During our half hour walk, starting in the parking lot off 208 St, began with a paved path through dense woods, then into an open field, then we continued along the shoreline of the Fraser River. The path ends at this point and continues to the East, in about one kilometer. The tide was out so we had a wide expanse over which to walk. At high tide it might not be possible to walk along the shore if you want to stay dry. On the trail, at noon hour there weren't very many people, especially along the shoreline.
Great little gem that’s super close to home! There’s not a lot of parking so get there early ! Big grassy area lots of trails lots great camping along the rivers edge . The river is very higher this time of year so you might experience some flooding . The park is dog friendly !!
Such a great place. Great trails. Spots on the river. Off leash dog park. We are hoping to camp here at some point. One addition might be a playground.
Love this place. It’s much bigger the. You’d expect. We took family photos here and I’ve been there for baby showers and just for walking around.
Nice regional park with picnic tables, RV site, and long trails along the river.
This place is a hidden gem. Great for picnics, swimming, and such. Also stayed at the campground which was a bit noisey, but overall positive experience.
Beautiful park but too many mosquitoes
Very busy place, even in the rain. Paths are wide & well groomed, variety of levels of experience. Regional District maintains the Washrooms & area very well.
Best dog park around. You can do the Fort to Fort trail and end up at Derby reach and go to the dog park or just hang out a the park.
Not impressed with their website at all! If your on the website it shows when camping season is open, then your scroll for a bit and see the book online/ contact us section. If the park is closed for camping im pretty sure that should be higher up on your website, not at the very bottom and it being the very last thing on the website. People are going to see open from this date to this date and book online and think its open. Wasted over an hour driving out there this morning to get a first come site only to find a sign saying closed.
Good camping, a little loud at night, trains go by across the river. Other then that it's a beautiful spot.
Really nice park. They have campsites that you can pull your car directly into that’s right next to the Fraser river. They also have fire pits. Also a nice park to just go for a walk.
Trails, water, dog friendly areas, the woods, camping, grass, picnic areas.... what more could you want?
Nice trails. We parked at the Houston trailhead and went along the Houston trail followed by the edge farm trail to Edgewater bar. Beautiful moss covered trees along the Houston trail with easy wide compact gravel paths with small changes in elevation. Edge farm trail was not as scenic but nice to be along the river.
Went to the river and enjoyed it. Looks like a great spot for fishing. Easy to find parking
Lovely park along the Fraser with lots of hiking and biking trails. Lots of beautiful views.
Great dog park. They keep well maintained.
One of the best trail for family & dog, Enjoying the NaTure :)
This park is huge. They have picnic tables, public washrooms, dog parks and close to the water to dip your feet in on a hot day.
It's a lovely park and the loop trail is just perfect with kids. There is a balance in terrain , so it's fun with kids.. but beware of small insects ... There is a small hideout with shelter and wooden bench beneath it. That was a super pass time place...
Nice place, they even have beautiful camp sites
Great campsite right on the Fraser River. No services but pit toilets and potable water taps. Very quiet except for the odd train on the other side of the river. Must have reservations as it is very popular.
Lovely riverfront walk, quite long and connects to some cool historical fort Langley landmarks. Also contains a small camping ground right on the water with firepits and picnic tables, good find.
A great place to go for a walk. People are distancing themselves appropriately, the mountain scenery is gorgeous, and the smell of wood fires at the day camp sites is comforting. Outhouses are available.
It was super. Quiet, safe and cool.
Good regional park Beautiful views river side to mountain. Good trail Pprt to Port
Took the Houston loop trail. Beautiful and super easy trail.
Nice gem of a place! Let's keep it clean!
Good place with not.many people, it is more of a walk than a hike but still good to get out. Was able to play with the drone
Hidden gem of sorts. Especially if you are local. Park has several trails, very big green area right next to parking and water, off leash area for dogs and rv camping on the other side. There is some tables with benches and some under roof tables that can be reserved. Good for biking or walk with kids. There is some fire pits on the bank of the river close to water. Only problem it gets busy and hard to find parking sometimes. Water in the river is dirty, also some trails and parts of the park can get flooded sometimes because of the proximity to Fraser river.
Great off leash area places to swim but watch the current
Nice place but too many people there
Amazing place for hiking at weekends ! Will enjoy the green beauties , a bit hilly walk , friendly people around and also deep silence of the forest in some spots !
we really like this park you can always find personal space and the up keep is excellent. lots to do. only issue is parking.
I went there for the first time last week. It is very nice. Be aware it is very busy early. Get there early if you want parking and a picnic table.
I went there with a girl I like to walk our dogs. Fingers crossed.
It is a wonderful place for the people with dog!
Great little park. Seems very family oriented with a nice day use area. I took a drive through the campground and the sites looked great. The lake has a nice trail around it which took about 30-45 minutes to walk.
Beautiful river side ,not very crowded as well .
I took my wife, 2 boys ages 4 and 6 and dog here to take advantage of a nice day. It was...ok...I guess. There's no soft areas to walk or sit by the water. It's all very sharp rock so wear good shoes and bring chairs in case you can't get a seat at a park picnic bench. Very dog friendly though and lots of them which was nice. Off leash dog area also. I'm not sure if I'd go back. But it was a good day nonetheless.
What an excellent place to be. Civilized outdoors with options to fish on the Fraser (please have a license). On nice days the parking gets full early
Wonderful place to visit with a picnic lunch or just watch to river go by. Yes even in winter. Hoping in the weeks to come there will be ice on the water.
One of the best regional park along the Fraser River.
Nice location for bbq, picnic or any other social gathering.
It's very pretty with some historical buildings. We walked the loop and enjoyed it but there's so many beautiful walks/hikes in and around the lower mainland with more scenic views.
My dogs love it here
Great park for all levels young&old .Langley township doing a fab job of their maintenance & up keep of recreational facilities.
Enjoyable location for a walk, bike, or stroll. Trains are often viewed across the river. There is fishing and day trip pick-nick tables. The campsites are clean and tidy. There are pit hole toilets. Each campsite has its own pick-nick table and fire pit. If staying overnight the trains are loud if you are not a solid sleeper.
A beautiful spot to......RELAX!
Nice park along river. Great for walks and lots of picnic tables, some even under cover. Has camping area along the river with outhouses, water, fire pits and picnic benches.
Really don't want to say too much about this true jewel. Stay away ! so we can selfishly enjoy it even more.
I love this trail. Not too hard, not too easy. Mostly flat with some rolling hills in the Houston trail. Very beautiful and very peaceful.
Nice park Everyone was friendly lots of smiling faces Lots of friendly fishermen
Although the camp ground is closed for over night camping, it is still open on a first come first serve basis for family pick nicking and fishing. On a sunny day it's great to see so many groups enjoying the camp sites along the river with a camp fire. If that's not your thing then a great walk on a very well maintained forest trail May help to calm your city nerves.
Huge park along river. Great walking trail
Nice place for walk beside the water.
Good Off-leash dog park, and the camping area is nice. 4 star cuz nothing extraordinary but still very nice go-to park for the family
So beautiful and peaceful
Very big dog offleash area. You can have barbeque (propane only)
Beautiful riverside setting great for camping fishing and boating
Lots of space and trails, as well as a fenced in dog park.
Nice park for kids to play, hike and spend time by the river! Lots of rocks to throw in the river and release energy ???? scenery views for Mount Baker and other mountains
Very nice and quiet place for a family bar b q. Camp sites are also nicely located along the river bank but I didn't see any utility hookups.
Wow what a nice park for dogs go off leash. There are three main area all fenced off plus one small area for small pooches only. There are gates to separate these main areas and one of them has a ramp to go down into the river. The park is very clean also. there are many garbage bins where you can discard the poop! In my opinion, it is a very safe area for all the dogs to have a lot of fun and you don't need to worry about your dog run away!! Will def come back sometimes!
Great place to walk the dog and enjoy being outdoors
This place is a gem. Off leash all over the place, a small spot for your tiny babies, and a scenic walk along the river bed, with a couple of small surprises along the way ;-)
Fantastic park for dog walking. Great off leash area with access to the river but so many on leash trails to explore too. Best park around.
A great place to walk have a picnic and meet friends
Great walking trails...!
Nice and relaxing, but very busy and sites are first come first served basis. Lining up before 6am.
Beautiful as usual...only thing , people coming off the beach/bar walking threw your campsite! Not cool
Nice relaxing morning and evening walks.....crowded during the day
What a beautiful park! A great place for a peaceful walk among the trees.
Hidden gem in Langley, perfect to spend family time with hairy buddy. Sectioned off leash parks work for all size/type of dogs.
Love want camp there soon
Pretty flat and easy walking, great place to bring your dogs. Plus great views of Golden Ears mountains
