REVIEWS OF Protection Mountain Campground IN Lake Louise

(Translated) We were in love with this small, natural campground. It's a little further away from the highway than the other places. It offers a beautiful view of the mountains. It offers no internet, network reception is partially available. Here you can find peace and relaxation. The rangers often control the place because of the bears that appear to be walking around here (Original) Wir waren verliebt in diesen kleinen, naturnahen Campground.

Out of the way stop over rv park. Clean. Doesn't have a dump station, water or electric hookup for the rv. Good price $23.00.

Washroom are very neat, and in general the campground is good. got the chance to see mama bear with her 2 cubs

Needs better trails to the restrooms. The railroad is close so it can be noise for sleeping.

Ovreflow for Lake Louise. Gravel sites, not much for trees. Flush bathrooms.

The campground itself is beautiful, a 4-5 star even without hook-up. We had a peaceful stay. However, the male ranger was rude and very disrespectful. We backed-in to the water spicket a few meters in front of the pavilion to take on water. There was NO sign anywhere that says we can't, no gate or fence to indicate we should not. We were getting ready to connect the water hose when this ranger came like thunder, mad, yelled at us, complete with flailing arms, as if we were bad kids caught in the midst of a grave mischief. There was no need for that arrogant display of power. He could have just approached us and talked to us in a normal, professional manner.

Clean bathrooms, flushing toilets, no showers, no hookups, right off the 1a, some very large pull thru spots, good value at $21

The good news is that there usually is a spot to camp. The bad news is that somebody from Parks Canada thought it would be a good idea to cut ALL the trees down. Now EVERY campsite is out in the open. If you want seclusion, then don't stay here.

Lots of empty sites

Great campground for non-tent travelers. Clean washrooms with hot water to wash your hands. We were especially thrilled by the bears that came to visit us in the morning...

Decent if you don't care for privacy. All the sites are spread throughout a field, with little to no forest growth to separate sites!

Large campground, fairly level (not quite) spaces. Flush toilets with running water and hand dryers. No cell reception.

Home away from home . I love this place

This park campground has the most amazing views. The sites are spaced really far apart so it is pretty quiet. There is no water or electricity at the sites. There are washrooms available.

We arrived around midday, and it was swelteringly hot outside. Reasonable rate for a spot and a good price for firewood. However, it is a barren pseudo wasteland for camping. This "campsite" has been clearcut, which leaves nothing for shade or cover if you've decided to camp. All of the lots are pure, hard packed gravel at least 4 inches deep, so not only is it unpleasant to camp on, it's damn near impossible to hammer in your stakes for a tent. Then again, the site is clearly built for people in RVs but claims to be a good place to camp. There is also a highway and a main line for CP Rail extremely close to the site. Probably a nice place to RV, but I will never camp here again, and I recommend you don't as well.

Good camp ground but be wary of the bears :)

In spite of bear threat, great campground. Nice and dark for stargazing. No tents permitted.

Fantastic views, spacious flat sites. No electrical service but who cares? First come, first serve. Reasonably priced and all the wood you can burn for $8.50/night. Oddly there always seems to be sites available.

VANESSA DENHOLLANDER

First-come first serve campground with beautiful views. No tents/soft-camping allowed for the time being due to bears in the area. 72 spacious spots and we have not seen the campground full (in our week-long stay so far), most full was Friday evening.

Brianna Wegryn

We found this place by accident as every other campground was full. It is an open concept campground which gives you a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains in all directions. There is lots of space between sites but no trees for privacy. Bathrooms were clean with flushing toilets and sinks. The campground felt safe and we had a great sleep!

Great park. Lots of bear activity!
