REVIEWS OF Lake Louise Visitor Centre IN Lake Louise

John Feng

On a minor highway in the rocky mountains there is a fork in the road. If you follow the road to the left it will become narrower and wrought with twists and turns. Eventually there is a very old town where the highway goes right through the middle, and narrows to a single lane and snakes back and forth in the tightest hairpin turns. You're forced to slow to a crawl to navigate these turns, and thus forced to observe the town's extremely weak, extremely antiquated claim to fame. A literal tourist trap, you drive through the halls of a building that is home to the Great Museum of Cupboards. There is only one type of cupboard however; the walls are lined by floor to ceiling wooden doors of varying pastel colors, completely plain in decor, adorned with nothing more than old silver round knobs for handles. Occasionally you see a small placard on a door, commemorating some hole, and explaining it's historical significance, but usually it's just an old knothole in the grain of the wood. An experience, to say the least, but the smithsonian it was not. Some things just don't live up to the hype.

This Is a great place to stop on your way into lake louise plenty of maps and great advice. Also if you work up in Lake louise you can get your resident passes here for as well. I got some great hiking advice when I arrived here and bear advice too since there are grizzlies in the area time to time.

Nice. Proved good shelter on a rainy day. Nice educational artifacts. Helpful Parks Canada staff. It's actually a five star, I made it four because the washroom sinks are difficult to use specially for physically challenged users. The idea of combining the hand dryer with the faucet doesn't really work. It was splashing drizzles when it should be drying. Hopefully they'll reconsider.

On 7/2/2017, 3:30pm, I tried to park my car near lake Louis, several cars in front of me were able to be allowed to get access to the parking lot even if it looked crowded. However, the staff stopped me and didn't allow me to enter due to full lot. I didn't believe because there're some cars out of the lot at that time. I asked his permission that I'd like to drive around the lot and make sure it is indeed full. He stopped me and demanded me to make a U turn at narrow entrance, which is really hard and probably damages my car. After I left, I found out he allowed the car following me to enter the lot. Then I stopped my car and asked him why to do that, he just said the lot is full. I was so angry because he has race discrimination on me. Everyone spends dollar on visiting the park, which means we are equal to have the right to park our cars. Why only me not allowed to park? It's totally unfair!!! To wrap up, the lake is beautiful but parking system is toooo bad. I totally understand it's crowded during summer time but parking staff should be friendly and helpful.

I called into the impressive visitor centre yesterday to be met by a bored and uninterested member of staff. Asked about day hiking trails and was handed a leaflet , I asked if these could …

O S

Beautiful place, but not worth the lineups and crowd. There are lots of lakes in the area as beautiful if not more than this.

Ahnaf Ahmad

in the small town and good place to have a rest.

The visitor center is helpful but I did not spend much time there but...the lake sceneries are breathtaking and it is a piece of art that no one can denies. Love it!

Ahnaf Muqset Haque

We stopped at the visitor centre to purchase a park pass and to check if highways were open after the winter storm. The people working were very friendly and helpful.

Ramsha Qureshi

This is a very cool little visitors center with a fun museum inside. A couple of videos and some cool gondola cars outside for photos. They have a fun little program for the kiddos to go from site to site and get badges like the US National Park Jr. Ranger Program.

Thelma Vecina

I have to come back here. Absolutely stunning views.

Jonathan Young

Very nice visitor centre and lots of workers for quick moving lines. Although going on a Wednesday around noon was not busy at all.

Helena B

Park staff was very helpful. A lot of information on current park conditions and maps. Displays were well made and interesting. Overall, a great stop for first timers

Michael Flores

The ranger was friendly and did suggest trails for me and it was a nice one. I wish she could brief summarize the neighborhood, so I might arrange my hiking better.

Ivaan Gilani

Lake Louise is absolutely beautiful... But, I hate there parking system. They always charge for 12 hrs even we stayed for only few minutes. And, too crowd to take peaceful time.

Adetoyese Oyedun

A lot of interesting information on the Rockies. The staffs are friendly and great source of information. I was here during the winter month, I dropped by to check on the conditions in the icefield Parkway. I got a couple tips and suggestions on places to go from the staff.

John Erk

If at all within driving distance I have to recommend going to lake Louise. It’s one of the most breathtaking views I have had the chance to see. Ideally go early on an off season because it gets busy. A great place to hike, picnic, sight see or even propose.

Adedamola Ibironke

Really beautiful, thanks God

Family Brown

Very beautiful mountain

T P

The visitor centre is good. Lake Louise itself on the other hand....way too much tourists. Been there, seen it and quickly moved on. Its beautiful, but overcrowded. We were there in May, not even the peak of the tourist season. The Rocky's have so much to offer, you can easily skip Lake Louise and visit other postcard places without missing it.

Keifer

Nice place to stop for restrooms and supplies before heading up to Columbia Icefield. Nice deli with good selection of sandwiches and baked goods. IGA also a good place to stock up on snacks, water etc

Dusty Thuss

Too many visitors during the week day and not enough parking stalls

Daniel Flores

Clyde Head

Barry McConnery

Great Place to visit year round. I love how clean everything is. I live in Calgary, but i still enjoy visiting lake Louise a few times a year. Personally i like winter the best, because you can walk across the lake when it freezes over. Its an interesting experience.

Lucopari

Wonderful lake The color makes it beautiful Kayak in the lake was a diff exp Even newbies can go for it

Joey

A spot for quick shopping and grabbing your favorite snacks or stocking up for your hike. You'll find it here.

Nancy Zhou

Drove 3 hours to tell us to go away. There’s a lot of parking at top of hill explained it to parking attendant I see like 8-10 free spots he told sorry keep going. What a joke this place is waste of time.

Deb Michel

Great and fun place to visit. They are very knowledgeable about the area and willing to help. …

Shilpa Suravajhala

Michael steelman

Stopped by to ask directions on our way to Lake louise. They also have a gift shop that sold lovely small souvenirs. The guy there was friendly but was a bit weird with directions

Jack Osborn

Responsible and fast

kwangsei kim

A great break from the cold ! Knowledgeable and friendly service. A great preview of what Lake Louise offers, and you are able to purchase your park pass here as well. Washrooms are available.

David L. Brooks

Great public washroom

Joe Deng

Great facility with great staff providing great info. Displays are starting to get a bit dated to us locals, but come with terrific stories. Ask about them

Jay Nasram

U should go. That's it

Chris Ho

If you need to get to the bathroom quick this is perfect! Great info and picnic table by the river!!

Elizabeth Galo

This centre is a must visit anytime you are in Lake Louise. The staffs are very helpful and the information are very useful for a first time visit to Lake Louise... The best of all, there is WIFI, this is a scarce resource in Banff so any opportunity to relieve your DATA usage is always welcome. The only downside for me is the washroom which I believe can be better maintained.... Overall, I greatly recommend this place.

Mike Cundy

Very accomodating very clean and they observe physical distancing this pandemic time

Ameneh Feizollahi

Lake Louise is great place to visit in spring and fall. One should especially go through Lake Louise trail. Its just a small hike but its really fun.

Anita Stevens

Nice place. Staff were courteous.

Kenneth Fung (Kenneth Fung)

A good stop to check in on hikes etc in the area. They have plenty of info booklets, helpful staff, interactive displays and weather reports etc.

Hassan Raza

Staff was friendly but when I asked for recommendations for a 2-3 night backpack trip I was told to come back when I knew what I wanted to reserve. What is a visitors center for if not to help guide the experience. I was a bit put off.

Akasha McKiddle

Beautiful lake, didn't spend much time in the visitor station. Incredible views, but the canoe rentals are too expensive in my opinion ($100/hr)

Natasha Scheller

Beautiful area and friendly staff it was very interesting to walk through the centre and see all their neat little exhibits and other cool displays. If you have any questions or even need some quick gear this is a good place to stop they will surely guide you on the right path for the next part of you’re journey :)

DAN NOU

Heart breaking sigth seeing...Beautiful nature of Rocky Mountain....must see once in life...for sure you wont regret...good place for hiking and horse riding also..

Ben Yap

From spring to Autumn, you can enjoy beautiful views. Winter season??? Humm..so cold..ㅜ.ㅜ

Rami F.F

Possibly a must-stop for newcomers to the Lake Louise area. You can pick up maps and guides for free and also get some advise in either English or French on where to go and how to get there. The inside of the centre is like a little museum, there are exhibitions and things for the kids to look at while you're busy planning trips. Outside are the washrooms (including a wheelchair accessible one) and since it's inside the Samson Mall you might as well continue on to the other stores next door.

Jenny Medeiros

Majestic views! Clearly a winner in terms of pure natural beauty. A must visit if you are ever near banff, Alberta. You can easily spend a ton fo time staring at the serene winds blowing over lake louise! The color of the water is unreal. …

Anna

These guys are completely overstrained by the masses and masses of tourists. Even worse, the staff in the Visitors Centers didnt even mentioned there is a shuttle service to the Lakes. We just found out by coincidence.. Park and Ride should start in Lake Louise village and expanded. In turn, both parking lots at the lakes should completely be closed for individual traffic.

Rob Jessop

I am only posting this beautiful place as a TWO because of the conditions of the taxpayer's financed washrooms. These are an absolute disgrace and an embarrassment to Canadians. Get on a (thorough) cleaning program pronto! Every time I go to a Federal Park the washrooms are dirty and unkempt. We really need to show our visitors some respect. (Apologies to those good folks who take care in their work....it's just something that has to be looked after with some consistency)

Sindy Wanna

Very nice piece of property. I am sure its owned by British family

RAW Go Pro FOOTY!

Excellent staff. There's actually exhibits to see history about the national park. It's a large visitor center. Very interesting!

Manish Sharma

Beautiful place but do many tourist at once

Jose Vazquez Diaz

Great place and helpful staff

Sabrina Paez-Parent

If your ever in the part of Alberta this is definitely a place to visit. Great views and perfect place to hike. Lots of shops to explore and everyone is kind and always there to help and answer any questions you have. Just breathtaking! M8TRIX5 Rating scale Atmosphere/Ambiance???????????????????? Cleanliness???????????????????? Service???????????????????? Food (Did not try)

Kelly Dillon

The staff here was extremely helpful and friendly. They seem to have really extensive knowledge of the surrounding areas and are really passionate about ensuring that all hikers enjoy their explorations and are safe in doing it. There was an issue with my campsite online booking and Karen even stayed late after close to make sure everything was worked out before I left. I would reccomend this stop to anyone looking for information of any of the Jasper, Lake Louise, or Banf areas.

T R

This is such a beautiful location to hang around for a while and learn about the mountains around. It is surrounded by a beautiful river, gorgeous and awesome shops and if you're lucky, he sound of a train going by. A must stop!

Khurram Dossani

Gorgeous frozen Lake view. Big tourist attraction. Yes, I took these pictures! Looks like from art work.

Jeff Mathew

Some very knowledgeable attendants on hiking trails. Lots of local informstion.

David Patchell

It's clean. Toilets are on the smaller size.

Michel Blain

Avocado on Toast - was decent, quick serve! Hot chocolate could be better.

Frank Hannig

Didn't even know this place was here, tons of great information and learning experience for all ages.... And even better the washrooms here are Extremely Clean!

Timtwoface (Timtwoface)

Extremely polite and very helpful, especially to us camping seniors ☺ !

jacky chan

Lake Louise is a must see. Incredible views...the visitor centre not much there....bring you own lunch!

Lando Paje

Helpful friendly staff.

Charles Ng

Nice staff very knowledgeable

Bob Bonstead

Third time to visit here, never tired of seeing it.

Zohar O

Lake Louise is pretty small, so parking can be hard to snag. You might have to ride the shuttle to get to different places. Visitor center was pretty wide open inside to accommodate larger groups. Some very interesting facts l had not known before visiting.

karen pritchard

Definitely worth a visit. There is a bakery and cafe that serves fresh baked products for a nice break. Plenty of shops for picking up souvenirs. There is also an information center here where you can buy park passes if needed.

Trevor Miller

A lot of little tourist attractions and shops

leonard Holden

Touristy, but a nice little area to visit & get info about the area.

Jen fer

Under construction. Only the restrooms were open. Looks like it will be a nice place when it opens. A temporary visitor is set up nearby.

Mahdi

Well, if you're reading this after you've arrived you're already too late in the day to park near the lake. But the people here are friendly and helpful and will find you a way to make it all happen.

John Cooke

An awe-inspiring natural feature! The lake is incredibly beautiful. With the snow mountain behind, the scenery is totally breathtaking! That can explain why it is prestigious in the world.

DAVID STUART ALEXANDER MACKIE

Great service. Be sure to take the shuttle bus service from Lake Louise town centre to the lake itself.

Eagleize

Staff was helpful

elaine power

Located in the village. Staff is helpful and friendly. Limited resources on site but their job is to give advice, not provide everything. Their are incredibly conservative. Discouraged travel to Jasper staying we need snow tires. Appreciate the concerns. Gave good recommendations for hikes and trail advide

Omar Alrumayh

People at center gave us the right information and perfect free advice..

Terry Furnivall

Very helpful people, clean, and open. But.. the museum (which takes up most of the space of the center) is very very disappointing. A very expensive exhibit filled with useless and confusing scientific information that is presented poorly. I'm not sure who the target audience is.... I make a point to stop at every visitor center to learn something of the history, etc.. But I would expect something much better for Lake Louise!

J Rhind

Beautiful surroundings.

Waleed Elmalawany

Even though it was early May, there was still a blanket of snow over Lake Louise that was about 1-2 feet thick. Nevertheless, I enjoyed hiking part of the way around the lake, which is supremely beautiful.

Peyman Ahmadi

Beautiful scene - Reflection of Glacier

Sebastian Krohne

My go to ski resort for quick day trips from Calgary. Consistent snow and great facilities.

Ian Weldon

Very beautiful place to go

Munni

The weather was perfect and the scenery is totally stunning,we never get bored of visiting, always something new we discover

Adam O'Keefe

I wanted to get some information on good hikes around the area with no risk of avalanche. The lady at the visitor centre advised me to go to Mirror Lake. I double checked with the rentals shop at Lake Louise on the same day. Turned out avalanche risk was extremely high on that day... They should definitely inform themselves more!

Jimmy Pana

Beautiful!

Brayden M.

Helpful staff.

Dean Galbraith

Spectacular place too crowded

Kyung-tae LEE

The lake is amazing, even when it’s still frozen.

Robyn Dicken

The scene was sooo breathtaking thank you father God for allowing me to see the beauty of your worked ❤❤❤????????

nice friend

Nice people and very helpful

Danilo Siaps

Its a spacious visitor center maybe because of the high ceiling. And the washrooms are nice and clean. Isn't why we always stop at a visitor center?

Judith Babcock

Great place to crash during wet day. They have nice little exhibition about mountains and wildlife. Really friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi. Thanks

Richard Edwards

Magnificent views. Love ???????? it.

Shu Mushrif

They’re in a maintenance so it was a temporary one but the staff was really nice and very informative. She gave me a lot of information around this area and a lot of maps as well which were totally needed for me. Recommend definitely stop by at first.

Jaspreet Kaur

I would give this place a negative 10. They put so much physical distancing barriers in front of the entrance that it made it very difficult for disabled people in the elderly to access the facility. Some of their barriers were also tripping hazards. When I talked to the staff they were very rude and this is very disappointing considering their park employees. I think some disability sensitivity training needs to be done. We disabled have accessibility rights and you could not put physical blockages in front of the doors. This is also a fire hazard. The bathroom had some fancy hand dryer extending off for the water tap and it was not clearly marked. How the heck is somebody who is visually impaired supposed to find this? I was unable to find it. Nice to see that the federal government it's not up to par on disability access rights. When I mention these things to the stop they were very rude to me and it is disgusting that they would argue back to a disabled person. Putting all these blockages in front of the doors causes more pain and suffering to disable Community as we are trying to get from point A to point B in the shortest distance and this is forcing us to endure hindrances that we do not need.

Astride Sika

You can find lots of information here before you set out to the great outdoors.

Saskia Broekman

Paying for parking lot is additional expense to see the view.

Maria Avagyan

The water is crystal clear love the place,it's definitely worth visiting the parking space is limited, you shall give your more wait time.

Ken Rehman

Very nice staff. Very helpful

Eric Lo (HERO)

Very nice visitor centre, complete with washrooms and even a few shops and a liquor store!!!

Som

One of the more stunning Visitor Centres in the Parks. Large with plenty of staff to help accommodate visitors. We wanted to add a fourth onto our backcountry camping permit, they easily did it with zero hassle. Very friendly.

Helen Burley

Amazing place. We could not find a parking spot close to the lake. One of the most friendly women at the information centre recommended taking the trail to the lake. It was 2.8 km hike with a lot of amazing views. It took 45 min with a child. Hiking child carrier is a most. Enjoy your trip :)

Mr. G.

Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places on the planet

Rockblyn Trac

Helpful place and great attention. Important: in summer Lake Louise parking is full most of the time, but in the visitor center usually there is parking free for 2 hours so my advice is to park there and then take a shuttle to the Lake and then go back in the bus. Is easier. If you are planing canoeing in the lake then that option can be tight with time.

Sherryl Oliveras

Really helpful staff with all the information

Bijan Tousi

Excellent place to get info about Lake Louise.

Basheer Azzam

Friendly knowledgable staff, clean place, beautiful washroom (ya I know that's a little weird) with taps/air dryers combo I've never seen before! Tip.. read instructions first! Lol
