Peaceful hiking trails

Duncan Uszkay

Incredible trail that I've walked countless times. The entire thing up to the tower is about 90 minutes, but you don't need to go that far to get to the nice views. You have to drive pretty far to find a trail better than this.

Another great spot to drop in your canoe/kayak into the Grand River. Also a nice spot for a walk along the Grand River. Many different spots to drop in a line to fish has well.

Sven Kutnik

Mathew Dance

Great for walks and kayaking on river. Only problem is parking lot is small.

Jennifer Kruithof

Short accessible loop walking trail on one side of the bridge. Path on other side connects to the Walter Bean Trail. Free parking. No playground equipment.

The trail is along the grand river. But I don't see so many birds.

Jimin Joy

Good trail for a quite walk by the river side.

Tim Ryeland

Great spot for a walk, lovely paths near the river.

Craig Shawcross

Tyson Schellenberg

Great jumping off point for trails and the river

Brad Willey

It's a charming area, and the trails are a single-track style Trail, but then it runs out, and Fallen trees cross the pass, but other than that, it is fantastic. It would be great if this beautiful network of trails were updated slightly, but I still would go back.

Like to hang around with kids. Nice and quiet and the view along the river and beside the bridge is nice in the park section.

A decent place to walk your dog or go fishing. There are narrow walking trails on the northern shore, and across the bridge, a wider trail that goes all the way to Conestoga College, though some of that trail is fairly rough because of seasonal flooding.

Tom Bomhof

The small loop is fine, but there's not much for walking along the river. The unmarked path up the river was nice, but it's not part of Schneidr.Park

Renata .K.

On this part of the Walter Bean Grand River Trail there's a great opportunity to take photos of the historic Freeport Bridge and the CP Rail Bridge, rent a canoe at Canoeing the Grand and see the Grand River and surrounding scenery from a different perspective.

Always a great place to fish and see some birds of prey (osprey nests nearby) and other flora and fauna. There is often not enough rom in garbage cans after a long weekend or a very busy one that’s not long! Some ppl litter and disregard those fishing or looking for a bit of quiet and peace, but hey, that’s just human nature and immaturity for ya, eh?

Bartosz Scheller

Great place for a long walk but seriously, why aren't there any benches along the trail in the K-W Parks?

Good launch and take out for kayaker and canoeists. About 20 parking spots less than 30m away from the river bank.

Celeste Kapko

It's a very nice trail! It also has a place where you can lower in boats. Would give 5 star but there is a lot of garbage in some places..

I love this park to walk my dog. It is a urban forest so even when muddy you can get a few loops in. There is so much brush you think you are in the forest and then you hear the highway. But how can you not love how green Kitchener is?

This is a nice access spot to the Grand River Trail. The parking lot wasn't full when we were there, but I expect that it gets full in the summer. We went across the bridge from the lot and walked south along the river. The trail ran close to the river and was in good shape until we got into the golf course. There were warnings that it was rough ahead and it was, although not enough to discourage most hikers. Not busy at all, and a very nice hike.

Lovely place to see osprey. Neat little park with some well marked trails. The marked trail appears to be quite short. Walking off the main trail, there are many awesome side trails that parallel the river that are fringed by beautiful and diverse flora. Overall, pretty great place to spend a bit of time!
