We tried the trail which starts from Old mill ruins on a rainy day !! Most of it is parallel to the grand river..loved it..awesome place for kayaking and fishing :) definitely going back there !!

Wonderful long view of the Pioneer Tower over the Grand River; explore the Doon Flour Mills ruins built by Adam Ferrie Jr. in 1839, and very close to the Homer Watson House & Gallery.????????

This is still a really nice trail! I think it was better maintained back in its hey day, as many sections of the trail seem overgrown compared to my memory of the place, but it still snakes all along the Grand River and connects with the rest of the Grand River Trail, allowing for many hours of peaceful hiking. My personal favourite feature, however, is the "watering hole" underneath Old Mill Road. The rapids form a natural water slide down into a deep reservoir, creating the perfect environment for a river swim!

Very nice place to pass by on my walk, unfortunately the path to the old mill was closed off. The creek was still nice however

A good place to launch a kayak or canoe. Avoid this river section if water is low.

Really nice trail with lots to see along the way. There's a small playground just off Old Mill Rd, and the ruins of the old mill itself were a big hit with the kids. Lots of parking just off Homer Watson at Doon S.
