REVIEWS OF Huron Natural Area IN Kitchener

Huron Natural area is a gem! If you’ve got little ones they will love the natural playground (lots of trees, wooden and rope structures). There’s some open grass space too. But the highlight is the trails (7kms) and small lake. The City of Kitchener has done a great job protecting 250 acres of forest.

Nice Park for a stroll, went there in mid November when it was already quite cold. Must be pretty nice during early Fall and Spring.

Really nice place to explore nature! Sandbox and picnic area are included, including a kids’ story along the Huron Trail. The park is also eco-friendly and includes a map of the trails available for hiking. Recommended for families who enjoy nature and for curious kids!

This trail is so beautiful! One of my favourite pass times is hiking, and this is definitely the place to do it! I don’t know of too many hiking trails (please reply with some haha) but I love bringing my dogs here. There are many different trails (some forested and some more in the sun), with water, wildlife and a diverse array of plants. I really love this place.

David Caldarelli

Great to get outdoors. The chicadees down by the Board Of Education Pond are super friendly, practically domesticated. I imagine people feed them bird seed from the hand.

Ayush

The hike was cool. No pre bookings required which was great. Moreover, you can bring your bike there’s a bike trail as well. Well I felt like I should have brought my bike so maybe next time. Also, it’s a pet friendly so feel free to have them along and enjoy.

Michele Breault

Our walking group likes to go here for our nature retreat in the city. The interaction with the forest and marshland is spectacular!

Im The Devil

This is a beautiful park in the winter and a great place to bring your dogs. It often looks busy from the parking lot but the forest is big enough that you can enjoy nature at peace without many interruptions.

Alex White

Nice place, huge park look like natural forest.

Horieb Tsegai

Nice place to go for bike riding, walking. Very beautiful view. If you love taking pictures, riding bikes or walking, would recommend going.

Summer Mckay

A great hiking area with a number of different trails to take. I had started to explore this area in December and each time is just as enjoyable as the last. It has been wonderful to see the trails through the transitioning seasons. The trails are easy and are great for all levels of hikers!

Really nice area to have your lunch outdoors and soak in some nature. There are too many paths through the trees where people can walk. This will have a detrimental effect on the forest and wooded areas. Saw a gray-blue heron flying here - it was beautiful. The hawk was also awesome. Saw a few interesting dragonflies that I didn't recognize. No turtles to be seen probably due to the hot sun. If you're ever in this neck of the woods please visit for a serene, calming experience.

Great trail with beautiful views. When you get into the deep woods, it has a West coast kinda vibe, and you forget you're in Kitchener. There are facilities on site if you need to use the bathroom which is nice considering most places I venture too don't have this. You won't be disappointed. It's truly a gem in the KW region.

Blaise Corbett

A very nice and well kept park and trails.

Rachel Cornejo

Beautiful spot with lots of trails to walk, run or bike. Busy on long weekends but enough loops to really get a great outdoor experience right in Kitchener's back yard

Sarah McKay

A nice collection of small trails to be seen. Got at least 3-4 of them done on my first visit but I can't wait to finish them all and bring some friends. It was a very nice little escape.

Melanie Crystal

Great place to walk alone or with family, pets, friends. Lots of different trails to explore. Some go through the bush and some are flat gravel and easy to walk. Lots of Wildlife and water.

Carlota Daniel

Will definitely be back here!! All the trails were a breath of fresh air. No entrance fees, ample parking space and with public bathroom. We brought along our kids too, even with small wheels for our stroller, were still able to climb up steep hills.

JS

Gorgeous, well-structured trails and friendly hikers — it’s great here. Beautiful conservation park in a homely area.

Christina Fraser

Such a beautiful place to visit, with so many trails you can explore for hours. Our family especially loves the forest trail areas. You can feel the history here.

A perfect place for an excursion with your family/friends. One can feel the beauty of nature here with naked eyes. It has numerous trails, fit for walking, running, or even biking. Parking facility is quite good. A lot of important informations is written on the sign boards. I must say it is a lovely place to visit.

Maen Hadid

Really great place, well maintained, almost totally stroller friendly (not in snow though). At snow I found the trails to be super slippery.

Deborah C.

What a precious jewel this park is. Magical in winter.

Hamsa Reviews

This is one of the nicest places for a nature walk in the region. Always a highlight for guests coming from outside KW. Lots of picture-worthy spots. New trails have been added over time—some are shorter and others more suited for longer walks. One of the top things to do in Kitchener.

Madina Homayoun

one of my favourite places to walk in kw area. great place to view wildlife such as birds, turtles, and frogs

Superb area with giant trees and abundant water. We walked in the ❄ snowy trails with enchantment. The forest is beautiful and the water and Brooke are great to sit and chill. On a new snow day absolutely jump there!

Lovely walk-a little busy on the weekend but so many trail options it was fine.

Peter Heywood

A family oriented natural setting with many of the paths suitable for strollers, wheelchairs and bikes. Good for curious minds that love to learn about nature. An excellent place for a quick stretch or longer walks.

Ella McRey

Beautiful colours this time of year...especially reflecting off of the pond. Turtles galore. Looked like a hot spot for engagement photos...lots of professional photographers staging Couples. The park was buzzing with happy kids. A few lessons in the field - Karate, adventure running and a group showed up for Yoga as we were leaving. Nice to see everyone out and about. Parking lot was full and cars lined the road, but still easily accessible.

This place is so beautiful and calm. There are many different trails you can take and the parking lot is always full but during the walk, it’s quiet so I’m not sure where all the bodies are but it’s a great walk. It is family friendly and stroller friendly if you don’t mind the gravel.

Brendalee Busch

Great place for walking. Public bathrooms too

douglas allan

Nice walks..varied scenery...bathrooms...not all flat...

Heather Rodd

Great place that's still in the city, yet feels like you're outside the city. Always feels peaceful and quiet. There's so many trail options, whether you're looking for a quick walk or a longer hike. Been going all summer, and I still feel like I haven't fully explored all the trails yet.

Salah Hussein

Very nice park with long trails

Mike Morawski

Decent trails for mountain biking, ones further back are much less busy. While good the trails are rather short. Often the park is crowded on weekends. Full of wildlife. Ended up finding myself only a few feet from a deer and a coyote on on separate occasions by surprise.

SHAUNA COURTNEY

Lots of wide trails, well used, beautiful sunshine through the trees today ???? ????
