Beautiful green space in the neighbourhood with great view. The trail is stroller or bike accessible partially. I would just hike next time. I had to carry my kids bike and scooter all the way up and down. So I would suggest encourage them to walk if you are hiking in The Great Trail

Enjoyed our first time there and we arrived at the perfect time and got a parking spot. Beautiful place and the view of the river was spectacular. Just be careful as there are many icy patches. I used my walking sticks and they were helpful. Highly recommend this place and I look forward to returning there to see how it looks every season.

A great paved trail, that also has dirt trails off the main path. You will be able to quickly walk the full length of this trail as it's not extremely long, but you may have to stop and take a look at the water - as it overlooks the grand.

I haven't been here since I was a kid. Took the family there. The kids didn't complain once going through the trail all the way to the bottom to see the river. It sure brought back memories. Very cool scenery. If your a home body this park is perfect for you.

It's a really beautiful park to go for a walk, run, bike or even sit down and enjoy the view of Grand River and listen to the sound of birds and trees, but beware of the many bugs and spiders; it would be safer to use bug spray. The hiking trail is mostly flat and passes through the trees and is extra beautiful in the summer time and beginning of the fall season when leaves turn color.

Nice trail not too difficult except over gravelling in parts of the trail. Runs along the Grand River. A bit stinky near the water treatment plant especially when humid. Parts of the trail has railings which makes it a bit narrow during Covid times. Saw lots of frogs, snake, ducks, etc.

This is a great forested area. There's lots of tall trees, paved paths, wetlands and a view from high up over the Grand River. This would be a great picture spot year round, but in particular, the views are striking with fall colours. You can get here by hiking or biking along Schneider Creek, or there are parking spots on the south end or interior from the north.

Years ago It was a great place to walk. Now it's getting overgrown. The focus is on the bike path. The picnic benches are gone. Basically it's a walking/biking trail.

I liked the view of the park and the trails, but there are not so many signs indicating the directions inside the park. Down the hill in the trail, where you can get closer to the river, you can find some areas that are been repaired, apparently a long time now. I saw a lot of small animals such as birds, dragonflies, butterflies and a frog. If you go in the summer, be prepared for the mosquitoes though!

For being so close to Kitchener, there are some amazing trails! I used to work on Manitou Drive and was able to go on a wicked 7 km run through here during my lunch break.

At some houses we could not take videos while taking photos was allowed. By the way, mennonites were so hospitable. Also, it is worthy to spend about 3 hours in the museum section to read about the history of Waterloo and Kichener.

We only had a short walk in the area, but it was enough that we'd like to go back another day to take a longer walk on the path following the river. The views are beautiful and the walk is nicely shaded by the trees.

Love this park! If you're looking for a nice stroll, the paths are easy and clear. If you're looking for a more rugged hike, you can walk down close to the river. Just be careful, those paths are steep and rooted.

A wonderful trail along the Grand River. Great views on either side of the river. The Doon Mill remains and the view of the Pioneer Tower are memorials to the first European settlers who came to this part of Waterloo County.

Very pristine park with a main trail the grand trail and numerous side trails. Good for walking, running and little steep at times for biking. Over all good experience with the in and out trail with two trail heads both having limited but free parking. Bring your water, bug spray and enjoy the trail above and around the stream.

It's a great trail. It's always well-maintained. My biggest issues is that owners seem to think it's ok for their dogs to go off-leash. There's a large ball park where owners allow their dogs to run freely and often don't pick-up after them.

Nice trail that I wasn't aware of until I stopped by last weekend. Some parts have loose trash laying around, even though there are garbage cans at trail heads. Took out a full bag of cans/cups that had been thrown trailside. Still a nice woodsy trail with views of the Grand River though! Nice spot to go for an afternoon walk.

This indeed is a lovely place for a walk anytime of the year. Whether it's winter a beautiful white snow seeing the river clearly below which is approximately 100 to 120 ft down. You can also walk right down to the river edge at any time of the year. ( Of course be careful when it's icy) The amazing things about these trails along the Grand River is that every season is different. In winter you can enjoy clear views to the water below, and spring you get to see the trees with new foliage. While in the summer you need to enjoy the trees in foliage and really walk to the river for a clear view. Then of course there's fall with the amazing fall colors that can be seen as you're walking on the trail and as you get to the lookout. For sure one of the best fall views in the area.

Nice place to go for a hike along the Grand River. A few slopes here and there, but nothing crazy and the trail is well maintained. Some sections are open to the sun while others are well shaded. I've lived in the region for years and had no idea this park was here. Took a hike with my daughter this morning and I liked the forest near the river, catching glimpses at time or going down to the water's edge. Not to mention the view from the lookout spot! There are a few different options for parking. Will be coming back again to walk the trail some more.
