The greatest location when I'm having a bad day and I still have the privilege to live in a city that is close enough to an area like that I can access I just sit there and sit for a little while I wrap up if it's warm and you're the sunshine most important of all of it to get that little bit of private time in my head the phones no computers just me and the water for a few minutes and then I get up and go back to work LOL awesome check it out safe fun and the city has put a lot of effort into keeping it that way and maintain you thanks Kingston Ontario some of us really appreciate the success we have here.

There are so many views to appreciate from lake Ontario Park. Lots of picnic tables to sit and have a bite and appreciate the view. A splash pad for the kiddos, good spot for parasailing, and can also choose to go for a long walk along the water, all the way downtown. Great place to bring a book and read. Well kept.

Just moved into the neighbourhood and are within walking distance from the park. Amazing makeover done recently have really brought out the best in the park. Love walking around with our newborn in the park. Always a lot of venues held here.

Beautiful place to go relax. Paved walking and biking trails. Boat launch on site. Water play ground if you have young kids. There's a few BBQ grills and a beach volleyball court in the summer. We regularly bring our dog there to burn off all her energy. And lots of parking so no worries even on a busy day.

This one Kingston's gems. Wonderful place to take the kids and burn off steam, or to go for a nice walk by the water. Huge sandboxes down by the water perfect for warm summer days. The splash pad and play structure is also great.

Great place to walk the dog with great views. The water isn't the cleanest but a lot of people swim here anyways. Lots of places to sit near the water. They even sandboxes for the kids to play in, a decent splash pad, and playground equipment.

Excellent place to visit with family and pets! I do wish they would do more with the waterfront so people could actually swim and enjoy the lake a bit more. Adding a few more simple attractions and perhaps a venue or two would definitely make this park some money and much more fun.

Cute little park. Great place to go for a walk, run or bike ride. Walk ways are nicely paved and accessible. Fun playground for kids as well. Really like it!

Far walk to the beach. Large stairs to walk up after swimming. Nice picnic spot. BBQs are provided you bring your own Charcoal. Great splash pad. Large covered area if it rains. Good washroom facilities.

Huge park! Recently went to the Victoria Day fireworks and it was an amazing event. Capable of hosting a huge crowd without feeling crowded and easily accessible with public transportation.

Great place to have a picnic. Picnic tables are available by the side of water with barbecue stands for use. Public washrooms also available with water fountain (was broken when we visited though). Great play area for kids with a park and splash pads. Good place for a swim if the water is not too choppy.

The city did a great job here....but when the public has to go around picking up garbage because the 2 city staff are doing absolutely nothing but go by in a golf cart that is a bad thing. Spent 3 hours there the last time and only saw them one driving by. They are well paid city workers doing nothing but farting around. An older gentleman got angry when the workers drove past people smoking near the play area and ignored it all, including all garbage. He spent almost 2 hours picking up garbage and asking people not to smoke by the play area and the lake

Wow... What a treasure. I just found this park and let me tell you it is fantastic! The waterfront is spectacular. There were ducks everywhere... Not 5 feet from me and unconcerned. There are lots of walking trails and handcap parking right at the water. I love this place!

Always a nice walk. You can either let the kids play at the splash pad or walk along the waterfront trail. The trail was closed at the beginning of the summer due to high water. Not sure if it's open now so look on the city website first.

The best lakefront park in Kingston. Lots of greenspace and waterfront benches. Activities for the kids and a canteen with food and drinks. Plenty of free cleen bathrooms and parking for all. Right across from St Lawrence College.

Great spot to go for a walk and also a nice place to go for picnics and what not, there are public bathrooms available during the summer months but the park could honestly use a few more public restrooms within its fascinates this park also includes a water feature many Hills as well as boat launch available in the middle of the park during the summer months during the winter parts of the path are closed to the public due to snow on the roads as well as debris such as tree branches that have fallen during the winter. Great place to hang out with friends.

Absolutely lovely. I've never seen ANY loose trash, none. The paths are always clear, and better maintained than some roads. I've never seen the parking lot completely full so theres lots of parking. It really is a great place everybody should visit!

Beautiful park that has been renovated by the city. Nice walking paths, lots of green space, benches, and picnic tables. There are even some charcoal BBQs to use, just bring your own charcoal. Awesome splash pad for kids and other play structures as well. Public washrooms are available and there's ample parking.

A little piece of Heaven right here in Kingston. Old old trees, wind and water. 3 guys were kite surfing when I was there this week. Holy wow, those guys flew across the water & once and a while the went aloft. Oh would I love to be young enough to do that! The trail over to Portsmouth Harbour was wild 2 days ago. High winds crashing waves.....WOW! CORK was on too as there were hundreds of small sailboats out between Kingston & Wolf Island. Fabulous! There are some trees along the trail that are very old and very tall. I wonder how old they are & the stories they could tell. I suspect they are even older than the Rockwood Asylum they live behind. Can't wait to see where the trails go on both end east and west. The park seems to be popular with people with young kids as the water park is always pretty busy. Sitting at the top of the hill & looking out over the lake is so very beautiful I don't know why the place isn't packed. I can tell from the look on peoples faces that the place has a calming feeling envelopes you. Kingston Mills and Jones Falls does that too.

Loved visiting this pretty park. The boat launch is very easy to use and is accessible for large and small boats. The view is gorgeous! Lots of room to walk and play. Kids will love the play area.

Beautiful kept park with Lake Ontario beach. There are sand box like area for kids to play in the sand near the water. You can go swimming as it's clear but it's rocky near the shore so if you have water shoes, it's best if you wear them. I am not sure if it's sandy after the rocks. The park area is kept clean and well maintained with a sheltered picnic and washroom area. There's one playground near the front of the park and new one near it with a splash pad as well. Best of two worlds.

L Ont. Park. I remember as a young kid grown up it was where parents told there kids...if you are good will take you to the park. From May till Labour day the trailer section would be full, you could here the music, the sound of kids having fun on the rides or the smell of the food, it was the place to have fun. Now it's a great place to take my dog for a swim or play ball.

If you haven't been here and you're around Kingston then you need to go! Beautiful waterfront area, beach areas, grass areas. The whole park is amazing. Continue on that road to the other parks along Lake Ontario for an amazing afternoon out!

I haven't spent much time in Kingston, so I was blown away by the beauty of the park. My wife and I agreed that it was the best part of our stay in Kingston. Keep in mind it was a nice 22 degrees, and sunny without hardly a cloud in the sky. Everything was very clean but bathrooms are closed right after thanksgiving weekend so go before you come! Also some dude was playing bagpipes which was sweet!

A perfect park for the day out for picnic and time in water. It’s a very beautiful park with clean ON Lake water stone beach. Not enough paved parking spots but good thing is I believe you are able to park outside of the parking spaces when overcrowded. Splash pad for kids in Summer is pretty good. The reason for not a high star is the poorly managed insufficient washroom. I had to avoid it totally.

Beautiful views, playground& splashpad for kids, trails,beach, dining area. Events are always fun and there is usually something for everyone to enjoy. The only complaint is during the summer It can get too busy at times specifically at the splash pad.

I went from Montreal to Kingston Ontario On the month of July 2020. The first thing I did was look for a park so we can have a picnic. We chose lake Ontario park because of the reviews and the description on the website. My family and I really like it and enjoyed the view. Really beautiful. There is one con I want to share and make the city aware of, the bathrooms are not clean, no sanitizer at all anywhere at the park although the pandemic.

Went to Providence Health Care to visit my father. He was there for rehabilitation. Lots of parking available. This hospital is modern and offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including a therapy pool. There is a good size cafeteria with Starbucks. The rooms are good sized and the support staff are friendly and helpful.

Lake Ontario Park is a great place to go and stretch your legs while out for a walk or run. There are some great paths to walk on and lots of benches to sit on. There are stairs that go down to the lake where you can see the waves crashing along the shoreline. You can lay down on the grass and listen to the birds twittering in the treetops and feel the breeze on your face :-).

It is a lovely park with a great splash pad and play area for children, a great area for picnics and throwing a frisbee or a game of touch football. The walking path leads you down along the waterfront with vistas of Lake Ontario in living color, past 'beaches' of water-smoothed stones begging to be skipped back into the drink. Past the stone buildings and along through the Birdfeeders Garden, across the little bridge and finally around to the Olympic Harbour. It is a lovely walk, canopied with huge trees and soothed or swept by the constant breeze off the Lake. On a hot Ontario summer day, this is a walk that cools and refreshes.

This time, we went as a family to swim, as usually the kids swim, and my wife and I read. It was the first time I'd walked down to the lake and around the path to the beach. I was personally discouraged at how long a walk it was, since I struggle with planter fasciitis, so walking is quite painful. The water was refreshing, sure, but compared to the many lakes in the area, this one was dirty, and the many ducks gave me some concern that it not be the healthiest lake to swim in. My wife and I swam back from the beach to avoid the long circular walk, whilst our teens carried the towels and bags. If you must swim here, and like us, don't have the limber bodies you once had, I recommend the swim from the launch to the park, as it's actually much quicker, even if you're doggy paddling, as we were.

This is my favorite place to take photographs with my boyfriend. Unfortunately, if you have a car. You will be followed by the security. I literally had to take another way home because they were riding my car the whole way home. After taking a few side turns they finally left us alone. Great place to enjoy quiet time to reflect and enjoy open spaces. The areas and especially the pathway to the water is clearly marked wheelchair accessible but it is very steep and difficult to return to the start if using a manual wheelchair.

What a beautiful park to visit. It is so nice to go to a park where social distancing is so very easy. The park is very large and calming with spectacular views of lake Ontario. On the right day with the right sunlight it almost looks like you're in the tropics. The kids love the splash pad and park while there's the old school hibachi grills for the parents. The city finally did something really good. We had my daughter's 6th birthday party there last Saturday and it was awesome. Although it is impossible to get the attention of the kids driving around in the city golf cart. We tried a few to times to get there attention and were just ignored. We have noticed many times people walking around collecting loose garbage in the park when the people we pay to do it are never around.

This park was completely redesigned and renovated by the City of Kingston around 2014. It has a spacious parking area just off King Street and paved trails throughout the park. One trail leads to the water park, another to a waterfront trail that heads east by the hospital and along the City waterfront, still another that heads northwest to join the Rideau Trail and still another that passes by two heritage designed washrooms on its way down a cement stairway to a dock by the water.

Our favourite park by the lake for a relaxing stroll with lots of comfortable benches to take a break and enjoy the view. On windy days, you'll see lots of sailboats of all sizes and courageous windsurfers skimming the waves. Bring binoculars! Very nice park for families. Our kids love the playground and splash pad. There are also plenty of picnic tables/areas to eat and get out of the sun. This would have been a five star review had it not been for the bathroom facility. It was a little dirty, but I guess you can't ask too much from a public park bathroom.

It is a nice place to walk, it was a bit slippery when we were there, so be careful, we are looking forward to finding out what it will be like in the warmer months. They have two trails that you can take and the view by the water is awesome. I believe there are washrooms available during the warmer seasons.

Very beautiful place, the grounds are well maintained. Great for picnics or family outings, they have a few BBQs on site just bring the charcoal. Just don't expect a beach to swim, it's all rocks. That's it's only downfall.

A wonderful waterfront park just west of downtown Kingston (too far to walk with kids from downtown - need a car) that has recently been redone. Water access, lots of green space, kids play equipment and splash pad, clean washrooms, great water view. Highly recommend for outings with small children - you'll keep them occupied for hours. Great picnic potential - take a blanket and snacks!

Lake Ontario Park has been rebuilt in the last few years. There is a fun safe splash pad that is always full of happy screaming kids on a hot sunny day. There is a fun playground beside the spash pad that the children seem to enjoy. There are also nice paved paths to stroll on while admiring the view of Lake Ontario

Beautiful setting. Huge walkways. Mature trees, wind coming off of the lake's edge. Picnic settings available for all including BBQ pits. The walk will take you by some very historical and impressive limestone buildings by the cement pier. Quite a long walk, if followed from end to end. Ample parking as well.

It's a large, very spacious, and open green area west of downtown Kingston. There are a fair grounds which briefly have activities during the summer, though I didn't see any of them this year which may mean it's no longer something the park participates in. There is a large campus of derelict Kingston city buildings, some of which were once psychiatric treatment facilities. Most are now unoccupied or part of the Ministry of Transportation. Providence Care Hospital is also located in the park. Basically, if you are looking for a large green space to have a picnic, play sports (there's a baseball diamond near the hospital), this is the place to do it. Some of the hospitals sports courts are publicly accessible as well if basketball is something that you want to do in the park. In terms of the parks bounds, it basically begins in Portsmouth Harbour, and terminates at Providence Care Hospital, making it quite a large park. Enjoy!
