Check out this wonderful gem. Basketball courts, RC track, playground and water park. Public bathrooms and change rooms. Walking paths and gardens. I was so surprised at this park. Well looked after and absolutely beautiful. A must visit.

This is my kids' favorite water park. Please do be aware of needles and other things but it's usually kept quite clean. Dogs are allowed on leash and there is a small dog run where the pool used to be. The downside to the playground though is the wood chips

I love McDonald Park. It has tennis courts and you can play pickle ball in there too! There is a water park there no pool anymore But there is a big round like ball on a large platform in water park and it fills with water and if you count it down and start under it you get s splash of water , but close your eyes you'll thank me later. There is also music in the park and picnic tables for an afternoon lunch, great place to spend on a hot day also a lot of trees to share you from the sun . Oh! And I almost forgot there is a public garden there too! I love spending time there!

It's a nice park but please beware. Homeless people sleep in the park at night and hide their needles in the playground equipment. I wish I were making this up. I don't let my kid touch the gravel or sand because they hide needles in it and I have to give the tubes and slides a run through because I've found needles in there. 2 Weeks later and I'm adding on to this review. There are two sets of bathrooms, one by the water park and one in front of the play ground that most people use. We found the bathrooms by the water park were the safest. Yesterday I was there and there was literally 15 homeless people camping inside and in front of the bathrooms and not letting anyone go in. I went in when I first came to the park and immediately backed out as there was full out pillows and bags of their belongings in the stalls. Something needs to be done about this issue.

The playground was decent, but it's not a good area. There were people sleeping all over the park in sleeping bags etc and the womans bathroom had sharps disposal bins and drug paraphernalia everywhere. There was obvious needle use in the bathroom and blood in the toilets. We will not return.

Our daughter loves this park, but it really is too bad the amount of transients that hang out there. Like probably about 20 or so split between the gazebo and the building that used to be the entrance for the outdoor pool. Beautiful park, just wish we could enjoy it with our daughter without having to worry what all these people are up to (as in using drugs, etc.).

It's a good park, city does a good job keeping it clean. Though the city can't seem to keep the fence in tact. Their lawn mowers keep snagging the chain link fence, which in turn makes fence look horrible.

Nicely treed park with a splash pad, play structures, sports courts, a pavilion and picnic tables. Parking is along the road on the perimeter of the park. This is only an issue when the City holds events in the park.

Its a great little park but parents, please keep a close eye on your children and make sure they keep their shoes on. There are drug user needles in the grass and you don't want them being stuck by those needles.

A wonderful space for children, downtrodden only by the fact that it is also a wonderful place for drug abuse, vandalism, and generally distasteful conduct. The City maintains the grounds superbly, unfortunately, the community policing doesn't seem to mind IV drug users calling the play area home.

While I hate to say this, this park has seen better days. Not so much for the maintenance of the park itself, but because of a combination of lost amenities & a noticable used needle issue that seems to be reoccurring. 20-25 years ago this was one of the nicest little family parks in town with small splash, park pool, playground, tennis courts & picnic area. A lass I rarely go here anymore due to concerns around it. If you are looking for a comparable alternative, I would suggest Centennial in Westsyde. No pool, but the petting zoo is still fun for the kids.

A beautiful day today. Took the kids for a splash in the splash park. Macdonald Park is large. There is open green space, a dog park, tennis courts, swings, basketball courts, a very accessible playground, a nice gazebo, a plaza. There plenty of tables and benches and washrooms too. There is a lot a nice murals as well. Definitely a gem on the Northshore of Kamloops.

It is a nice place to have a picnic and relax. The trees there provide plenty of shade and there is usually a breeze that comes up to provide a cooling reprieve. There is a great water park for the kids to play in and to enjoy.

It's a great family place but not totally safe to leave your kid unsupervised even for a second you can find needles and drug reminents in the grass not very often mind you but the warning is there for smaller children that dont know not to touch and there is a road really close and a dog park close so either way it's a good idea to just keep a closer eye on the children
