Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, spanning 11,000 km2(4,200 sq mi). It is located in the province of Alberta, north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains

Beautiful, scenic park. Love the mountains and the wildlife. Loved it! Drive carefully, there is a lot of wildlife and impatient drivers who drive like crazy people.

Jonathan Eisfeld

Such an epic place. The drive from Jasper to Lake Louise takes the cake. Waterfalls, valleys, glaciers galore. In the town of Jasper stop at the old firehouse and learn about the wildlife and also about how the pine beetle is actually helping return the park to it's native structure. Well worth a trip!

Jasper National Park has been on my bucket list for quite some time, recently I was able to fulfill a dream, a dream of being close to Nature one of the most beautiful creation we from this earth inherited from above! From seeing Caribou and Elk graciously crossing in front of my car to riding on the Ice fields parkway, the landscape views of tall rocky mountains were a mesmerizing feast for any eyes from 1 to 92! Lakes are turquoise blue with glacial water and are abundant around Jasper, there are plenty to see and do and town offers good quality food and plenty shopping. I am very surprised with the fact that people in Jasper are very much into fitness, hiking and nature, very healthy choice that a few of us have. I give jasper 6 stars out of five!!!!

Best place in the world. Nice town, great people, and incredible scenery. I would recommend checking out Maligne Lake, Athabasca Falls, and Pyramid Lake. Jasper Park Lodge is worth visiting as well.

Just like heaven! A LOT OF awesome places to visit, so many falls, canyons, lakes, and last but not least the Icefields parkway itself!

Jenikka Lumbera

Beautiful park. This year, did Stanley Falls hike about 45 mins from town. An easy hike with gradual elevation. There are multiple waterfalls throughout the hike with Stanley Falls being the last one before the return hike. Stopped by to admire the Snaring river as we stayed in the overflow campsite just beside it. On the way to the hike, we saw mountain goats and elk.

Arnica Lau

I am sure Jasper has more to offer… but someone really needs to turn up a notch on their promotion of this place. I hope it will one day be as vibrant as Banff. It was a little disappointing as we past through.

If you like scenic views while driving you’ll love this, mountains and glacier views the whole way to jasper. You must have a park pass to get in but 100% worth the whole thing. We went twice, the second time the smog from the fires in the united states took over the views but created a unreal experience. Instagram is cb_kikrby

Beautiful ???? Slower today due to rain and Sunday yahoo...

There is alot to see, bunch of lakes, ice field glacier walk and tour, skytram, snowboarding and skiing, and most important Maligned Canyon. There is pyramid Lake near Jasper town, and the island is available for rental for wedding and stuff. How cool is that eh!

Em von Euw

Visited many years ago now with my pa, on a cross country motorcycle trip. I'll never forget the goats! It's so fun to hike around among the wildlife, take in the amazing mountain views, and just breathe in, knowing you are a part of this beautiful world.

Russul Al-Rawi

Be prepared to be amazed. There's something to do for everyone. I went with my elder parents and they couldn't hike much but there were easy hikes and many gorgeous picnic areas.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

I was only passing through Jasper national park this time, didn't have a chance to stop, stay overnight and hike. I love coming here, always so much to do and see in this beautiful place. Definitely a reason why they call it God's country, my words couldn't do this place justice. You have to see it yourself, my personal invitation to the park. I highly recommend staying for a while, perhaps a good week, enjoying what nature provides. The colors are amazing and it's constantly changing too. Hopefully we can get back to normal soon ????..

other than the occasional difficulties with road conditions winter is my favourite time to drive through Jasper Park it's far less traffic and you get to enjoy more of the views. During the winter you also get to enjoy more of the clean crisp Rocky Mountain air while you watch the elk, goats and sheep enjoy the salt that is on the roads. At this time of year in Jasper there also a lot of cool events going on there's Christmas in November and other events planned and it's almost time for skiing.

Cory Ayler

One of Canadas most most spectacular parks. Amazing mountain views with some of Canada's most breathtaking scenery. A must visit if coming for a visit...Canada at its finest!

Soujanya Mamidi

B.E.A.U.T.Y! I love this place so much that I ended up getting a tattoo of the mountains and trees! ♥️ Serene and scenic!

jyoti wagawade

Awesome peaks of mountains and clear blue sky in mid April. Should keep a winter jacket in spring. We spotted elks and deers in jasper.

Nancy

This was the most fun trip that my family & I spent. Everything was amazing, we found everyone in town was very friendly. This made our trip very enjoyable, we look forward to going back.

J P

Pretty. The drive to Jasper is time consuming but you will enjoy the scenery. Many areas during the road trip could not get the phone signals, so maybe prepare your fuel, car or whatever.

Jordin Guenette

Jasper national park is only 1h 45min away from my house I love it there. Almost any weekend I have off with my family we go and for the past 20 years I always find new sights and new places the people are kind and it's always an uplifting atmosphere! You cant beat the views of the Rocky Mountains there incredible. There way better then the swiss in my personal opinion! Jasper national park is highly recommended!

Hash M

Loved it and will definitely visit again soon. You can't get enough of this place. This place should be on everyone's bucket list. Camp site should be booked in advance if not your second option would be overflow which just a couple km away from main camp site.

David Cy

Jasper national park is amazing. Spent a week in october to explore banff, toho, and jasper and by far, jasper was the most amazing park. The mountains are amazing and you escape a lot of the tourists that plague banff and the lakes. Highly recommend the edith cavell mountain and the sulphur skyline trail. Both around 3 hours round trip but were very experienced and athletic hikers. There was some snow but dont let that deter you! Makes an even better view at the top!

Shaun Merritt

Spectacular National Park with breathtaking views, stunning amounts of wildlife and natural habitats. I cannot thank the people of Jasper and surrounding areas enough for keeping this place so beautiful. I've been here more than half a dozen times and I always get the urge to go back. Under the shadows of the mountains you get a feeling so humbling, you'll never want to leave. Makes you really appreciate the beauty this world can create.

Adetoyese Oyedun

A friend advised me to drive through Jasper National Park on my way to Banff National Park and I must say it is the best experience since I moved to Alberta. The scenes takes my breath away and we stopped along the way to take several pictures. We also branched to see some quick sight seeing places. I also recommend this for anyone that can pass through this park.

Levi Collingridge

In my opinion, Jasper is one of the best places to go to for a vacation in western Canada. The views here are absolutely phenomenal both in the summertime and wintertime. There are countless mountains to explore, with plenty of campgrounds to spend a weekend at enjoying the mountain air. There are countless lakes and rivers to explore, with glistening clear water, and unforgettable scenery. During the winter time there are a couple excellent ski resorts to hit up for an all around amazing skiing/boarding experience. If you like the outdoors, Jasper is definitely worth checking out!

P .A.L

A must see. Jasper is beautiful. The entire park is stunning. If you have a few hours, the tram ride is a must. The views at the top are breath taking and you're on top of the world ! There's even wildlife at the top. Bring a shell jacket and sunscreen.

Val Daigle

This was amazing, lots to see and explore. Plenty of pull offs for sight seeing and photos. There are camping locations throughout the park. Plan more than a couple of days if you want to fully enjoy all the sights. Worth the trip, you will not be disappointed.

wanderingSohail

A must visit place in Canada. Jasper still holds a small town feel and not as commercialized. Nestled between anow peak mountains Jasper has limited accommodation so plan ahead. Beautiful lakes, canyons, hot springs and endless hiking and cycling trails. Jasper is one of the largest dark-sky preserve, plan ahead and you can experience a night sky like never before. Must visit here.

Smith Sark

Have discovered a whole lot about this place in the last two years. The scenery is mesmerizing and the chance of spotting some kind of wildlife in their natural habitat is almost certain. The town itself offers some basic lodging options and has a decent variety of restaurants and eateries. But I always make a point to camp-out at least one day in wapiti or whistler campground on the southern edge of the park.

Jim M

Great place to visit, Jasper is a little less busy than Banff National park. Great hikes, and beautiful vistas everywhere. Shopping and restaurants provide a break after a great day outdoors.

John Yun

Beautiful and gorgeous. What else can I say... you can definitely watch more animals here than Banff. Need to stay at least a few days if not weeks to do this whole park.

Jim Peterson

This park is a great balance between the incredible beauty found in Glacier and Banff without all the business. There were no bad hikes. The people were friendly. The camping was great. Wildlife was everywhere. I highly recommend spending at least four full days here.

Sajin M S

Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies comprises a vast wilderness area of Alberta province defined by glaciers, lakes and peaks like 11,033-ft.-high Mt. Edith Cavell. The Icefields Parkway, a road from the town of Jasper, passes subalpine forest and the immense Columbia Icefield. Outdoor activities like hiking, camping and skiing are popular. Native wildlife includes elk, moose, bighorn sheep and bears.

Bely Thing

Breathtaking views, definitely one of the books!

Luke Thomas

Possibly the most beautiful place I've been in my life. The mountains onto the lake make for an incredible sight. Huge amounts of wildlife in the area! We saw two bears and a moose. 100% worth a visit

James Easton

Beautiful scenary and hike. Accidentally missed my turn and took the family on a 10k hike instead of a 2k hike but turned out great. Highly recommend for a day trip. Bring water and snacks!

Jamie Thorsteinson

I’ve had the privilege of working in the park crushing rock twice now. The entire area is beautiful with so many amazing things to do a places to explore. I’m certain that I tried nearly every place Jasper has to offer in restaurants. Every place has it own unique atmosphere and selection of delicious food. I got to do some exploring a few times on my days off. Athabasca falls are stunningly beautiful. The Jasper Sky tram to the top of the mountain is breathtaking. Such an amazing view. There was so much more I didn’t get to experience. I will definitely be back with the family to explore even more.

Tiber Dacicus

The park is huge. In addition to this national park, there are many smaller local parks to visit. Sometimes it is very difficult to realize if you are in the park or not. The lakes have a special emerald color, which works very well in photos. Visiting the glacier that forms the Athabasca River you realize what global warming and pollution do. The glacier has halved in size and I don't know if it will exist for more than 50 years. Or 20? There are indicators that show you where the glacier was 100 years ago, in 1982, etc. Another thing that, perhaps not surprisingly, made me think. On the river there are no fish except from a certain point downstream. Quite unusual for me. The canyons visited and the waterfalls are extraordinary, you have a lot of panoramas. Unfortunately, the camera cannot present the abyss or the depth of these places. The only solution is to visit the park.

Vinh Nguyen

One of Best Place in Alberta

Nanik Chugani

Everything is a tourist spot... wildlife is everywhere, you can see it even while driving! This is just last week we saw, caribou, grizzly bear, dear, elk!

John Ukos

visited for a week this past june. my daughter was working at the Jasper Lodge. Did a lot of hiking. Also enjoyed the restaurants and pubs in town.

Vikrant Tomar

Great place to go hiking and camping. We went in September and it was great. It was 30 degrees drying the day...got a bit cold in the night though. Lots of nice view points. As with any other place, wildlife can be hard to spot but we had some success.

Thomas Tj

Have so many wonderful Lakes around. Recommend 5 Lakes, Maligne and Jasper. Can see many interesting animals along highway 16, including bears and elks.

Eileen Priddy

Jasper national Park has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! The mountains are in sane and the waterfalls simply glorious. The quaint town of Jasper is a lovely spot to stroll and enjoy the ambience of a down to earth population content with their town and surroundings. The wildlife does not shy away from the camera frenzy but be respectful and keep your distance so they remain wild. Do not miss Maligne lake even though it is always out of town. It is well worth the drive!

Jaime Hernandez

Gorgeous national park. So many different lakes and hiking trails. The water was perfect to dip into on the hot summer day. The town of Jasper is very nice as well, with lots of restaurants and ice cream shops. They also have a lot of shops to find the touristy Jasper merchandise. It isn't as busy as Banff but it is just as beautiful. The lakes and hiking nearby make it better than Banff for me. The only complaint is the 4 hour drive to get there.

Kim Burton

Always a beautiful drive. Saw so many animals it was like a trip to the zoo!! Def Worth the $20 park fee.

Kimberly Brown

Amazing views. Beautiful. Enjoyed Jasper so much more than Banff. Seemed less crowded, more places to stop, more wildlife. Really enjoyed the gondola trip to the top of the mountain. Wasn't extremely busy when we visited.

Ellen Sheppard

So much more than I expected. I've visited many US and Canadian National Parks; this may be my favorite. At every turn, on every hike, the views just get better and better! The hiking is splendid. The interpretive signage is well done: helpful without being intrusive. Safety warnings are appropriate... Written with the assumption that you have basic common sense. Interpretative signage reflects a high degree of respect for & sensitivity to the role of first nations/first people in the area. Great pains have been taken to preserve the land and protect the animals while also providing visitors with peak experiences. Trailheads are well marked; trails are well maintained. Park literature provides all you need to know in planning your hiking: length, level of difficulty, grade of accent, approximate time required. Lots of pull out spots on the roads keep traffic moving. Rangers are uniformly knowledgeable and generous with their time and with Park maps and literature. Don't miss the Edith Cavell ice fields area. It's a limited access area and you have to line up at the visitors' center in the a.m. for passes, but it's well worth it! Though it's actually closer to Banff, a day devoted to hiking at Lake Louise (Lake Agnes, etc., with the tea houses) is not to be missed!

Thushara Jay

You can drive through, do hiking or stay overnight camping! It’s just magical! Every time you go there it’s always refreshing! Never boring and never tired!

Themythorpe Soetan

It's a serene environment and you have to go in groups in other to enjoy the fun

Jeevan Yerraji

Quite stunning! Picturesque lakes, lush green valleys, snow capped peaks, colorful alpine tundra, flowing rivers, you name it.. would rate it better than banff. Be prepared for some steep hikes

Michele H

It is so gorgeous out here. So pure. We are bit a tiny spec in this great world being around these mountains just shows us how tiny we are. Everyone needs to see this once in their lives

Terri L Silverthorn

Great little small town Theatre. Clean as a whistle. Friendly staff. Affordable snacks. I appreciate so much that they persevered through Covid and have opened again.

Russell Ford

Amazing park at the northern end of the wonderful ice fields parkway. This park was very pretty and a little less crowded than Banff. Some incredible hikes and natural waonders. A couple of our favorites were Bald hills, the maligne lake boat tour (expensive but worth it), sulphur skyline, maligne canyon, and lake Edith and Anette. If you want any solitude you still must get on the trail very early! 8:00nat the latest. Only down side was I was a little disappointed in the lack of wildlife.

It's Just Jay

It's an absolute must-see place before you die. But please, if you visit, don't feed the animals, and don't litter!

J

I’ve been here so many times. So peaceful, relaxing, and breathtaking! Words cannot describe how beautiful the view was.. if you think this image is gorgeous, can you imagine what this would look like in front of your eyes? #JasperAlberta - definitely worth the drive from Edmonton! #breathtaking #gorgeous #views #MountainView #NarcityCanada #CanadaParks #AlbertaParks #Alberta #TravelAlberta

Russell Romick

Wonderful, lazy week camping. The neighbors on each side were quiet and very friendly. Both from Canada but from far off provinces. I'm from Alberta but it is still a treat to visit. The town site itself is great too but every year it is getting more and more about money and more and more cramped. There is a nice reen surrounding the Town buildings to lounge on or take break partway thru shopping for souvenirs or unique items. Highlight in town for me was an rock and fossil shop where I could have spent hours. Took the tramway up to the top, enjoyed it immensely. Beautiful views of surrounding park from waaaaay up.

MARIA GON

Magnificent place, just beautiful. You can easily find wild animal around, bear, deer, fox, big horn goat. Explore And do the best hikes ever! Be careful driving at night! Slow down! I totally recommend to go up the mountain with the Skytrain, the view is just impressive and nice short hikes on the top.

Nourman Thetraveller

Wow it’s an amazing place to spend your holiday far from the city. It’s hard to find a camp and it’s better to book in advance .A lot of animals everywhere some places are dangerous to stay in ..Beers everywhere. You must have the National park pass during your stay ,there is a daily pass which is useful if you don’t know how long you will stay in the park. There are many places to see and visit

RJ

Amazing park and definitely the best national park in Alberta. Very beautiful and scenic mountain views. Walking and biking trails are amazing and is good to keep you busy all day. Would definitely recommend in the summer and winter months, and overall a great place for family trips and get aways. Would definitely recommend

Ansara Narine

It is worth the drive the view is abating throughout , many lake and 2 ice glaciers you will see ! Also waterfalls and the size of the mountains is just breadth taking !

Liezel Marie Bautista

Just a few minutes drive from the Columbia Ice field Discovery Center, this a beautiful falls you can see just along the road.

Tejas Yadav

Amazing landscape and great place to experience outdoor sports.

sean tseng

I went to Jasper from Edmonton. It was a beautiful drive, seeing the prairies turn into mountains. However, it took us 30 minutes to get a park pass, and the day after that it was raining (on July 12).

Selina (Sphynxee)

Jasper took my breathe away the first time I visited a few years ago. Still years later it never stops astounding me. There is so very much to see. So many different types of mountains, lakes, animals and campgrounds to see and stay in. If my photos say anything its take your time. Enjoy each moment. Really take in the breathe taking views and keep coming back. Cause there is always more to see.

Jeevan Yerraji

Quite stunning! Picturesque lakes, lush green valleys, snow capped peaks, colorful alpine tundra, flowing rivers, you name it.. would rate it better than banff. Be prepared for some steep hikes

Rohit Dahiya

It is one of the amazing place I ever being to. It's amazing scenic drive is breathtaking but I m very disappointed from the staff at the entrance as there was no information about no network or no gas station for next 200 kms. I think there should be a warning sign station that most of the camp sites are closed and there will be no gas station through out the park and they should put emergency phone through out the park as in case someone needs help they can call someone...

Angela Scheufele

Wow what can I say? I've wanted to go to Jasper for years and it was amazing! We loved the hikes, the animals and wildlife, and of course the little town of Jasper. There were some great restaurants and overall we just had a fun time exploring the town. I would recommend staying in one of the park facilities. We stayed at the machine shed and loved it!

Yijie Shen

Amazing views, more mountains and better hiking areas but quite tiring if you came unprepared

Jacqueline Telljohann

This is a peaceful alternative to Banff National Park. We went to Banff first and enjoyed getting away from the huge crowds in Jasper. In the three days we were here, we hiked Valley of Five Lakes, Maligne Canyon, Path of Glaciers at Edith Cavell, Bald Hills at Maligne Lake, and Sulphur Skyline. My favorite was Sulphur Skyline followed by Bald Hills. Both were more challenging hikes, but the views were definitely worth it. Maligne Canyon was pretty, but because it was easy, it was very crowded. We didn't see any wildlife while hiking, but we did see a lot while driving, especially on our way back from Maligne Lake. I thought the views were just as good in Jasper as they were in Banff. The lakes are prettier in Banff, but there were great mountain views everywhere you looked. This is definitely a must stop national park in the Canadian Rockies.

silpa sethy

Jasper national park is the combination of beautiful mountains. The drive was beautiful and specially during fall. We visited so many places in Jasper and every place is unique.

Iowa Reviewers

Beautiful national park that I've enjoyed visiting again and again. Majestic mountains, rushing water, and many trails offer a plethora of options to explore. Maligne Canyon in winter is a fun adventure.

Vicky LB

Stunning landscape and so much wildlife! We saw tons of moose, elk, and a young deer. So much to see and discover, highly recommend seeing this beautiful park

Cameron Lowell

What a special gem that this Earth has given us. The tall sharp mountains, emerald water, rushing waterfalls, and the occasional bear or elk make this place truly magical. I would highly recommend adding this to everyone's bucket list to remember how beautiful this planet can be.

Matthew Davis

So amazing. Didn't want to leave. Days and days of sites and hiking trails. Be prepared for temperature changes. Ranged from 39F to 75F in late August. Definitely coming back.

Vishal Singh

One of the best national park to visit. Awesome views. A must visit.

M R (cndn_hippo)

When you drive through here, keep your eyes peeled because there's a good chance you're going to run into (not literally!) some amazing wildlife. This last time, we encountered a small herd of white tailed deer. They were kind enough to congregate in an area we were able to safely pull off the road where we could quietly share some space with them. Please DO NOT FEED the wildlife. The unfortunate thing is that they're clearly used to being around humans as we were about 5 - 10 feet from a buck and he wasn't bothered in the slightest. Please just quietly spend a few minutes in their space and then gently move along. Beyond that there are beautiful vistas everywhere you look! If you're a shutterbug, this is going to be a wonderful drive for you and Jasper Park has hundreds of places throughout where you can pull off the road to take loads of photos. Take your time driving through here. Enjoy it for what it is, and leave it as you found it.

Shylo

Great park! Lots of stuff to see, lots of exploring to do, and lots of fun to have! This has been only my second time at the park and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be back again soon. The views are amazing, and while the roads are full of construction, the park is beautiful!

Dan Wilding

The Jasper to Banff drive is once od the most beautiful places in the world. The mountain peaks and vistas are breathtaking! The wild life is fabulous! The rivers and waterfalls are awe inspiring! There are hikes and river-runs, fishing and photography for absolutely everyone to enjoy. You simply must experience it. It can be ad simple as a drive or add intense as biking and hiking all along the way.

JP G (Greywulf73)

I love this park! So beautiful, so much wildlife, so many things to do! Easily one of the most beautiful parks west of Saskatchewan. Right on-par with Glacier National Park. Definitely recommend both parks. Beware as there are construction areas on the highway this summer, making it a bit infuriating. I know the roads need to be maintained but still...

Tanya McGarvey

What an AMAZING experience! An absolute must see if in Canada

Tom Dienes

Jasper National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit in this world! The tranquility and serenity of the scenery will put anyone’s tormented mind at peace. The fragrance of the boreal forest will clear your mind, and the sound of the winds passing through the trees will bring your mind to a stand still! There are endless points of entry to explore within it’s wilderness, and it’s almost a guarantee that you will encounter its wildlife!

Adam Fick

I love going to jasper, it's so relaxing to take a trip up to medicine lake, and onto maligne lake for the amazing views. Athabasca falls and sunwapta falls are beautiful and a fun place to cool off if it's been a hot day outside! It's an amazing place to relax and get a day away from the city! The hike into the valley of five lakes is a fun 2.5km hike in to see a beautiful view of the emerald colored 5 Lakes!

cindy munoz

I was amaze and mesmerize by the views in Jasper many areas to see and stay , the lakes lovely really the city nice ambiance Definitely a place to visit

Erin Lemco

Jasper is absolutely incredible. Go if you have the chance and spend all the time there that you can. There’s so much to see. It’s beautiful. It changes you. So much wildlife everywhere. Lots especially down Maligne Lake Road. Check out Miette Hot Springs and Maligne Lake, Pyramid Lake.

AK P

The Rocky Mountains in Canada Jsaper National Park is a very famous attraction in Canada, thare are so many places to visit like Athabasca falls, sunwapta falls, maligne canyon,Lake Edith,Columbia Icefield,Columbia Icefield Skywalk,Mietter Hot Springs, maligne lake, Medicine Lake,Pyramid lake,Patricia lake many more....

Maneesha Kumari

Saw so many wild animals, will definitely visit again

Emily Parker

The park is gorgeous, breathtaking and pristine. The air is clean, if you are a city dweller - you can't imagine the clean crisp air of the park. There is so much to see that you cannot do it in one trip. It is a national treasure.

Leesa Michelle

The gem of the Canadian Rockies, in my opinion. It is less commercialized, less crowded, and more preserved than Banff NP. It feels more untouched by humanity, has a great little town at a central location and is filled with beautiful wilderness and wildlife. I would choose Jasper over any other National Park. In my opinion, if you go to the Canadian Rockies and don’t hit up Jasper, then you really missed out and didn’t see what it all has to offer. AB-16 Road alone had so much wildlife it took our breath away. In a 5 minute period we saw elk, a fox, a mountain goat and big horned sheep. We also saw a mama moose and her calf in Jasper. The only thing we didn’t see were bears, but it was our understanding that when we came they went up in elevation one last time to get the last of the food up there before coming down for the last berries for hibernation. Don’t miss out on Jasper. Make time for it!

Dave Brandman

One of Canada's great national parks. Great hiking and great attractions. Jasper is a very good base of operations while visiting the area and the park.

Chien-Chang Chen

It's -30C in the last week, but the view is really pretty and worth to go. Due to the coldness, the river is frozen everywhere so you can do ice walk, ice climbing now. Unlike banff, there are not many public wifi here... but you can go to visitor center and people are nice there. The river here flows to the Arctic ocean. Walking under -30C is kind of crazy though. Shouldn't try that. The traffic is not that convenient like Banff. Not sure if there is bus. No Uber, but only expensive taxi. Hope the public transportation can be better. Also you can walk to everywhere in theory. But it's too cold now.

Khurram Ijaz

Doesn't matter how many time you visit Jasper National Park it always seems like it's your first time. The beauty of this places captures your heart and you can never take in enough of the secrene beauty of this place. It is however an entire different experience to visit the park during the summer and the winter months, there are numerous spots to visit and explore in this park and one day is just not enough to see them all. A must visit for all.

Janet Li

The pandemic has changed our lives. We can’t travel as we used to do that. But at this moment, looking at the photos that I took at Jasper national park a few years ago, watching those floating clouds surrounding the feet of the mountains, I still can feel the sense of mystery and freedom. So I decide to write this review and to share the photos with you. I hope that I can revisit Jasper in the future, to smell those clouds again.

Kipp Lewis

Awesome day trip along maligne valley to maligne lake , lots of amazing scenery , drive slow and watch the ditches , go early as to get there before the buses doing the tours, daybreak to 830 is good time to start, but always wildlife

José Manuel Pardo

Through my road trip this was the spot where I found the most amazing things and wildlife. I will strongly recommend to carry out bear spray all the time in all the trail's even the easy ones. The trail's give you amazing views and then you can go to the main town for food and coffee.

Ladan Eskandarian

Always love are backcountry camping trips here ... this year we got snow on Sep 1st at Coronet Creek Campsite. Tonquin Valley offers very scenic views as well :)

Sabinus Dcunha

One of the best parks in Canada. Very quite and tranquil.

ahmed alsunni

It’s very beautiful nature it’s one of the most beautiful places I ever visited super recommended to visit if you come to Canada ????

Zachary Snyder

I am pretty lucky to see these “guys” on the way where I am going to the Jasper

Dustin LeBrun

I highly recommend Jasper National Park. Significantly less touristy and visited compared to Banff. Amazing views and wonderful hiking available. If you enjoy the outdoors, far from the crowds, and want to experience the Canadian Rockies, Jasper is a must.

Mike Kinsella

Love Jasper!!! This was at the parking lot headed to bridge 6 in the Maligne Canyon. Nice trail that is well cared for and used. Lots of great spots for pictures.

Shannon Law

Got rained on and hazy from the wildfires. Seems like they need better forest mgmt. ???????????????????? 1 star. Kidding. Most beautiful park in Canada.

Aimee Lim

This place is beautiful. The snow capped mountains are gorgeous. Canada is blessed with a wonderful nature. Would like to come back one summer.

Gurbir Singh

In one word “AWWWSOME”, nice park with shady woods. It’s having a nice circumference you can walk, jogg or do cycling here. I fall with the the pics of Jasper National Park and want to visit this place once a while in my life. Highly Recommend for all especially the “The Canadians” ????????

Alphy Antony

The most beautiful area in Canada. Love the atmosphere here. ????

Jehezkiel Eugene

Amazing scenic drive by the mountains! Hands down one of the best views I'd ever had in my life! Undoubtedly highly recommended despite the long drive! ????

Luísa Alvarez

The park is amazing! 10 dol per day per person or 40 dol for the family/car and when you enter a park, at the gate where you buy the pass they ask how many days you will stay and which parks you will visit, and the same pass is for all federal parks.

A picturesque and unforgettable drive! Majestic snowcapped peaks, blue green waters and tall trees that make you feel so small. One of Canada's treasures and deserves its reputation. Some tips if you're visiting... The animals caused quite the traffic jam as tourists stopped in the middle of the road to get out and take photos. Just slow down not block the road. Note: please dont do that as its discourteous to other drivers and also dangerous to approach wildlife like that. Also, dont feed wild animals. That seems like common sense. At the gates just outside Jasper they ask you if you're visiting Jasper national park for tourism. If you say yes they will charge you the admission which is 10 bucks per adult, 8.30 for senior and 4.90 for kids. You need to buy the pass and display it on the dashboard if you visit these towns and scenic destinations. Doesn't matter if it's for 30 min or overnight. This goes towards maintenance and park support. You will receive a handy map and brochure outlining the best viewpoints and sightseeing spots. The park is big enough you could spend 1 or 2 days exploring it. There are tons of campsites as well as hot springs, lakes, rivers, canyons, waterfalls and ice fields. It's also home to lots of bugs so be prepared. Great for families and kids! Tons of activities including white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking swimming mountain climbing hiking, guided tours, stargazing, biking, camping, skytram, glacier walks etc. Have fun and be safe!

Beautiful views. The pandemic has been keeping Jasper very quiet so it's a great time to check it out with a lot less of the usual tourists.

Jasper National Park is a must see for any mountain/outdoors lover. Endless things to explore and see. Jasper, like Banff, is a very popular tourist destination so expect big crowds, even on the rainiest of days. Hiking trials with a moderate difficulty or higher is an easy way of lowering the numbers, if you are up for it. However, some spots, like the Sulphur Skyline Trail, are too amazing to be not be busy and I fully recommend it regardless.

Debbie Lu

Absolutely breathtaking! Everywhere is a perfect scenery for you to enjoy and photograph. We also got to see wild animals crossing the highway. It’s so stunning and I will most definitely come back!

Nicole Hankey

Honestly, every part of JNP is amazing. Not sure how this national park could be anything but 5 stars. There is so much to do and so many places to relax to take a breath. Love it.

Riley Babuik

The mountains are even bigger than Banff's! The park also knows exactly where to put little viewing points for taking pictures. It has so many attractions it got exhausting(not in a bad way!). The area is so beautiful and it's a great place to bring your dog! Just make sure to clean up after it! The town is great too and has so many hidden gems within it. The parking is a little cramped, but if you're willing to walk, you will be rewarded. Overall and great park and great town.

Nathan Kawulka

Maybe not "better" than banff, but definitely different and if less commercial is your cup of tea then this is the place. Hiking and mountains everywhere. Wapiti in abundance!

Enrique Aliaga

Amazing places to see, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, canyons, etc

Edit 2021/05/02: still coming here every chance I've gotten over the years. Noticed some changes in the landscape, but it is still one of the most beautiful places I've ever had the privilege to visit. Many fun hikes to do, and gorgeous views in all directions. And the beauty doesn't stop coming once the sun sets. Jasper National Park is one of the best places to see the night sky. Highly recommend visiting and seeing what it has to offer. A great place to get away from the city. Tons of wildlife, plenty of things to do, and lots of beautiful things to look at while relaxing.

Chloe

Spectacular place with amazing views! You can experience a true wild Canada! So many great places and lakes to stop by and enjoy. I always prefer to bring my own food but you can find nice restaurants and cafe at downtown area. Just keep in mind since global pandemic, you must wear your mask on when you walk on the downtown street.

Jasper National Park is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in North America, and arguably the world. It is one of the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. It is Canada's largest Rocky Mountain Park. We visited Jasper twice between July and August 2019. Driving along the Icefields Parkway is one of the best ways to see parts of the park. We saw stunning scenery of snow capped peaks, glaciers, lakes, rivers and the flora and fauna. There is so much to see that we would have to visit the Park many more times in future.

silpa sethy

Jasper national park is the combination of beautiful mountains. The drive was beautiful and specially during fall. We visited so many places in Jasper and every place is unique.

Jasper, a small, beautiful and quit town, not crowded at all. A Jasper National Park must go place, stunning water colors, surrounded by mountains, full of water falls and lakes. If you want to enjoy nature , must visit. The scenery is spectacular, enjoy the drive, mountains and lake views. There are many outdoor places, hiking, camping, attractions, water falls, wild life, lakes, trails, canyons, sight seeing to be done. Drive from Jasper to Banff is gorgeous.

Papiya Sharmin

Amazing natural beauty, Canadian Rockies are the best, best place for hiking, camping. Make sure you bring your food and enough water it’s really expensive over there , try to plan in mid june to mid July to get the best view

Juvinar Santiago

Jasper is so vast and huge! It has its own characteristics and beauty. One week is not enough for you to explore this. There are plenty of things you can do here, like. Hiking, walking, camping, kayaking, cycling, boating and so much more! Wild life is everywhere. Elk, deer Nd moose is just around the corner. We love this place specially the scenic view drive from Jasper to Banff! Amazing view of mountain and landscape. Highly recommended.

T K

You'll need at least a week to explore this beautiful and vast park, enjoy the walks, fresh air, canoeing, hiking and picnics in one of natures best kept secrets.

Rong Xu

It's amazing park. A lot of things that you can discover by your own. And you can see a lot of animals too. Everyone can enjoy the beautiful landscape through their own eyes.

Niman Hashi

This is most beautiful I’ve ever been I love visiting Jasper my fav

Alphy Antony

The most beautiful area in Canada. Love the atmosphere here. ????

Ben franklin

The best national Park I went in in Canada and it's super different as you pass through the park. The camping is areas and their system is stupid its camping but RV seem to park there and sleep stupid as campers want the camping area but all the RV steal it and who wants to camp with RVs

Betty Dollman

Park is much improved over previous years so clean nice shopping experiences beautiful nature and easy access to all sorts of things

Christopher Pearson

Always great scenery and plenty to see. Never camped but facilities look adequate and clean. Roads well maintained but really the scenery is not seen elsewhere perhaps only rivalled by Norway

Graphicdesignsolutions Gds

I much prefer Jasper National Park because in my opinion it's not over run with people rushing about in a frenzy. It's laidback, loved and cherished by all of us and I believe we've taken great lengths to preserve and reserve our footprint within this natural paradise - Let's keep it that way.

Jim Arnold

Great place to visit. Incredible scenery and wildlife. We stayed at Whistlers campground and the elk regularly move throughout the campsite.

Alexander Pamen

Fantastic. This Park is the easterly neighbour to Mount Robson Provincial Park. Both are great - a must-see for any visitor to Alberta, particularly Jasper, and BC.

Avocado Toast

Amazing park. It's very well maintained and easy to find your way around. You could spend months in here and not see it all. It's very easy to spot wildlife in the park. You can often see bears, moose, deer, all sorts of birds and much more. Pristine lakes and amazing hikes in the rocky mountains. What's not to love!?

William Glashoerster

Enjoyed our camping trip to Jasper National Park. Stayed at 2 different campgrounds, pocahontas the first 4 days and then whistlers the last 4 days. Pocahontas is more like camping and more secluded but away from a lot of the things a person wants to see and do when in Jasper. Whistlers is closer to the "action" but with hot showers it does take away from the camping experience. That being said I do like my shower in the morning, LOL! Only down side was the smoke but can't do anything about that. It was also nice as the park is quieter without our American cousins coming up north to enjoy our parks. Enjoy your trip to Jasper.

Kandis C

Great space for health, adventure, and relaxation during pandemic times. Well kept. Clean. Informative signs for directions, costs, and closures. Easily accessible for all physical capabilities.

Sarah Wannis

When I say no photos can do this magical place justice I mean it. You must go this place… should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Fernando Bardelli

Pretty amazing landscape... beautiful place to get in touch with nature

Steven Benjamin

Whale back trail and laughing falls are a must. Be prepared for 20km though and amazing views all over. Tons of other water falls and rivers to see as the trail progresses. Would do this trip again in a heart beat. Love Yoho and all the scenery it had to offer.

Grigoriy Shmigol

Amazing place. We spend 5 days but it was not enough. Not even close. So many places to hike and see. If you like to fish buy a day pass and check regulations. Drive at speed limit due to a wild life crossing roads, take you time. Issues with traffic as heavy machinery is being moved etc. So allow for extra travel time.

Esther W.

Lot to do and see. Easy hikes to hard ones. Lot of wildlife to see at a safe distance. Waterfalls and canyons.

Jaime Andres Arango

People are being very responsible towards COVID distancing. The landscapes and wildlife are beautiful. Highly recommend.

David Johnson

Unbelievable scenery. Epic mountains and breathtaking vistas. Geology on the side of the road that puts much of the rest of the continent to shame. Oh, and moose, bighorn sheep, bears, and countless other animals.

TLS Sutherland

Jasper still has the small town feeling it has had for the last 50 years. It is one of my favorite places to visit for so many reasons. The scenery is spectacular, there are hiking trails for all abilities, great restaurants and people are friendly. There's something here for everyone.

Lisa Lang

Just amazing. Words cannot describe the amazing adventures that we had.

Michael Erickson

It's about the mountains. The town is nice, not too commercial. But the surrounding mountains, trails and views are incredible.

Ron Turnbull

Nice camping spot. Can't wait to see how it is after the big makeover. Lots of photo opportunities. Many beautiful sites reasonably close to drive to then go for a scenic walk. The town is close and has a lot to see. Micro brew pub. Shops and more.

Lee Foreman

We try to get out to Jasper for a week every 1-2 years as we enjoy it so much. We hike, bike, kayak, golf, sight see and take sometime to just relax and take in the fresh mountain air.

Glenn Melnychuk

Its Jasper! Incredible natural beauty

patricia Miller

What can i say!! This place is everything!! So mesmerizing and beautiful nature every corner where your eye reaches!! Was sad that my trip got over!! Try to go Sunwapta falls in morning during sunrise. And after that visit athbasca. Maligne lake has a cruise tickets to go to spirit island so i didn’t go there but you should if you have time.

David Tyler

Beautiful scenery. Disappointed with pretty total lack of wildlife during our walk to and around Old Fort Point; no birds, insects etc. It seemed quite devoid of life even though the scenery is spectacular.

Brittany Emery

I truly wish I could never go home from this place. Banff was a complete waste of time, if you plan on coming out this way, skip Banff and go right to Jasper. Have seen multiple bears, a moose, long horn sheep and an albino squirrel! The mountain views are better here anyways!
