A beautiful place for a picnic
It is Sunday and it’s not that busy. Plenty of picnic tables every where you go. Washrooms are open. The view is absolutely stunning and clean.
A great park with so much space to run around or have your own patch of grass for family/social occasions.
The park is lovely, nice and open. Wasps though. Lots of wasps.
The best park but only thing to remember is parking is $8.00 a whole day.
People were smoking, vaping and were on pipe . Today wasn't pleased.
Lovely place to picnic and play, many picnic tables and the bathrooms are very clean
Big open space with various grill pits and picnic tables. The canopy has outlets for electrical devices or hosting an event with a PA system. New and relatively clean washrooms. Capital pathway conveniently passes right next to it, this is the best way of entry to avoid parking fees. Surrounding woods and nature is properly respected. All-round functional and fun place to be.
A nice open space for get-togethers and picnics. Has picnic tables and a barbecue.
Large urban park for picnic or outdoor activities
You can find aĺ you need for friends family large groups picnics
Love, love, love this place for a family gathering or an event. It's a grate place to have a barbeque and for the kids to run and play.
I hadn't visited this park in more than 20 years. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. This was a beautiful Sunday August afternoon. The park was alive with picnickers of every nationality and colour. DJs spun reggae to one grip of tables while sounds of Nigeria and Ghana were directed to others. Children laughed around a portable badminton net. The aromas of a dozen cuisines filled the air. Our family aged 9 to 73 had a great barbecue using the pit closest to our tables. And everyone was appropriately distanced and many wore their masks. Lots of free parking too
Neat clean park with play structures that are safe for kids.
Great park.
Very nice park and the River view, gives freshness the awesome taste of beautiful nature. Love walking with my friends. It also connect with the colonial by drive trail and you will reach the Mooney's beach or Hogg's Back park if walking southbound.
I’ve been coming here for 50+ years. So many nice memories here. Great for big gatherings now that restrictions are lifting. Amazing facilities and handicap washroom!
spacious, beautiful view of the river, great for walks.. clean and enjoyable
Outdoor family-friendly community events and celebrations everywhere. So fun!
Amazing park! Never knew there was such a clean park here and really contemporary design! Perfect for family and has clean modern designed washrooms! Lots of bbq places! Very well maintained! Should come here for sure! Highly recommended!
A Great place to have a Picnic by the river and relax.
Nice park and facilities, but no dogs allowed :-( What's up with that Ottawa?
Very nice park . Good for groups and family
It was fairly nice beautiful and clean place, but the parking was a bit tight maybe coz we went ther on weekend but still a nice place to visit and take the family there!
Very nice and beautiful park and especially for BBQ!
A great park! Not only does it have exercise equipment, but it has a station where you can fill your water bottle, and give your pets a good drink as well!
Beautiful, expansive park with lots of little spots to sit and enjoy the weather. Access from the bike trail along the river is especially nice. There are lots of picnic tables where families and friends can get together for a BBQ. While I was there, there were two relatively large events happening - with room for everyone.
trails through the woods, both walk-in and biking. open fields for picnicking. be careful taking the path under Heron road as it is too narrow and the bikes go too fast if you're walking.
Love it!
Very beautiful park, we went there to do cycling.
Truly a gem of the city great for a walk or a bike rode in the summer even a picnic.
Much bigger than Hogs Back Park.. lots of picnic tables...good for families. Pretty clean for a city park. Clean washrooms too! Water fountains are available too.. nice touch.. Better to take dogs for on leash walk earlier rather than later because bike paths are crazy busy & dangerous and cyclists do not share pathway with pedestrians and dogs..
Nice place for a walk with friends/family. Barbecue, Frisbee or xcountry skiing! Love it!
Beautiful place to sit, have lunch, hike, bike, and go see the falls at Hog's Bank. Also has a Pavilion that hosts music and other events.
Amazing grounds for the Summer Solstice Festival. My only qualm is that I'd hope the washrooms had better upkeep and the parking more plentiful during the festival. Can't speak for the remainder of the year.
Dropped in while walking along one of the Ottawa river paved trails. Large park that has been beautifully renovated. A very comfortable park for the family and groups..
Wonderful view ????
Fun lively beautiful
Just a perfect place for friends to gather - open air - BBQs on site ???? #sociallyDistancing
It’s a beautiful natural park for people of every age.
Great walking path
It was great. Not many people were there, however the ones that were didn't fully follow social distancing. It wasn't bad. We also made sure to bring plenty of hand sanitizer.
Perfect family outing place. Only missing is a water body.
Fun for whole family
Very nice place to go and enjoy your time
Always great to have some urban green spaces to enjoy and relax. Pandemic or not. PSA #1: Vincent Massey Park offers free parking on weekends. PSA #2: This park is federal land managed by the NCC (National Capital Commission) and under RCMP Jurisdiction. Federal parks close at 10pm and City of Ottawa parks, at 11pm ????
Very good spot to sit down
Great trails, facilities and location.
I would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for those vicious mosquitoes. Amazing place to celebrate your holidays with people you like.
Ok nice place for walking and relaxing
Great for a family and friends community BBQ
Park had lots of tables and space. Parking payment machines need to be fixed
Beautiful place for picnics and get together.
Really nice and clean. Excellent for picnics.
Great park and location. Love the basketball court.
Nice quiet place. Limited parking though.
Nice large park for large groups, can make food in fire pits
Great environment for kids and quite spacious. Lots of seating areas and bbq grill stands.
Only 10 minutes from most of Ottawa neighbourhoods but It feels like you are outside the city. Very green, quiet and has a lot of privacy great for people looking for relaxing spots and enjoying the vegetation. The park offers trails for walking, biking and jogging. If you are a grill and BBQ lover then you are in the right place. Parking is available for $8 only (entire day) Don’t miss this great park!
Beautiful park to go with family and friends.
Love this park in fall as it becomes full of lovely colorful leaves. pow wow is also happening there..
Very nice for an outdoor family get together.
Nice place to have a public bbq. Could be quite noisy on weekends.
Beautiful and well maintained park. Trails nearby! Good summer picnic spot
Lots and lots of space and many picnic tables on clusters all over the park.
Convenient central location.
No covidiots. Most people kept to themselves at a safe distance. The park was quiet and peaceful with the sound of birds, the stream and happy kids and families. With the exception of one uber brat that didn't get his ice cream when the icream truck tinkled by and went into a deafening scream that would knock a ghoul of its pedestal. Lucky the heat and sun probably accelerated the little rug rats vocal tantrum down to about 10 minutes. Overall really nice and relaxing
Beautiful park. Great Celebrations.
Very nice park, u can barbecue too!!!
Great park
A very clean, well maintained gem. I've been to two events here. I will definatly return.
Beautiful and there is a lot of tables, it has a huge parking lot and the rate in the weekend is flat $3 , but there is not playground for kids
Big beautiful park with an abundance of picnic tables. Great for a family day outside. Very green. Only downside is paid parking.
The perfect park to take your family!
Secluded, metal cooking bbq's are available for use. Just bring charcoal
Lovely park, good for family or friend gathering, ate my Zaki's broast with all comfort. Thank god for such a lovely place.
Dropped in while walking along one of the Ottawa river paved trails. Large park that has been beautifully renovated. It would be a great place for a large function with so many picnic tables and a very nice modern clean bathroom facility.
Great place for a picnic!
Huge picnic area, hundreds of table, barbecues and lots of parking
Great spot. Very popular for picnics
So open very field! Doge agrees!
Nice place, has a public wash room and free parking...
Perfect place for out door picnic or potluck
BBQ, hold events, family functions all availbe to hold at Vincent Massey. Major gatherings that generate revenue or are not for profit will require some sort of permission so check with your regional municipality about that.
It's nice place clean, and fresh air
Nice park. I just don't understand why people are parking on the side streets. I wonder if it's even allowed. I prefer to pay for the parking to help in the upkeep. Otherwise my favorite park.
No play area for kids
Love that there's a circuit for adults! Kids can play and adults can do various exercise stations while watching their kids
Nice place for bbq but not worth going if you live in Orleans or Kanata or Barrhaven
Just a beautiful spot to bbq and spend a afternoon
This is a very nice place to spend time with your family and friend enough space for everyone
Really is hugely popular for its fast premise which able to accommodate large number of different groups and communities gathering.
Tons of shade and hundreds of picnic tables and coal BBQs. Lots of crayfish in the river for the kids to catch. Lovely place for a day out without having to drive out of the city.
It's very comfortable place, I can do BBQ, play football, and do birthday for my kids.
Good park for picnic but parking is way too expensive.
We went to indigenous festival in Vincent Massey Park. There were lots of activities and shows for everyone. Well organized and fun!
Needs more cleaning. Bits of garbage were everywhere.
Very lovely park for all occasions, well maintained and accessible, just finished the Scleroderma Walk (5k), always a good day.
A great place to meet up with your cycling friends from all over.
A big busy park which always has people doing picnics and gatherings.
It's a taste of the outdoors even though it's still close to the city. Beautiful walking trails, and I went down to the creek area to catch crawfish
Bathrooms were closed and the ground was muddy.
Very spacious park, great place to bbq. Can get super busy in the afternoons though.
Very spacious. An abundance of tables and barbeque stations. Perfect for family outings.
It's a beautiful area with open fields and next to the river. There are sports fields to use and paths to walk or ride a bike.
Lots of space, bbq pits, the river close by. Anything that you want you can find it in here. It's our favourite park.
Baller park. Always love coming here and tossing the disc. Saturdays FTB Hundo P
Very nice park but we pay enough taxes to cover parking expenses.
Huge park with lots of different areas that have tons a picnic tables. Nice path along water. Great area
Amazing park to spend quality time with family and friends. I enjoy the fact you have opportunity to go long walk in the trail
I like it and also has a washrooms which is important for kids. But I hope if there are a security or tickets for those who doesn’t follow the rules because the people there don’t care about the social distance and I saw people smoking near kids also some they put cars in areas with signs no parking so feel it’s not secured.
Beautiful park, there is BBQ and tables
Perfect
Love the park, hate the overpriced parking rates!
Beautiful large park! First time there today and enjoyed the area.
Very green and beautiful park for family day picnic.
Very clean and cozy.. I liked very much .. I'll visit it each time I come to Ottawa
Good park
Good for a picnic.
Beautiful park with ample picnic tables and charcoal barbecues. Lots of family and community activity going on, which gives the park added warmth.
Surrounded by nature, this place is a perfect amalgamation of nature and social gatherings. You can chill enjoy the scenery or do some barbecue and play music, it has a lot to offer.
Great place for a family picnic. Plenty of nature in the park and nice paths to walk or bike. Washrooms were clean.
It's beautiful place. Walking trail is there so it was quite good for me. Some people come and have their evening snacks or dinner here with family. So it was fun watching them.
Best picnic place
It was great lake
Perfect park for family gstherings. Offers picnic tables, BBQ pits & clean restrooms.
Way too many people not wearing masks or distancing.
A beautiful place for a picnic. Not so much for fishing.
Needs playground equipment to keep the kids entertained. Too bad the NCC doesn't know the meaning of fun.
Has many park features that would make such a park, park-like.
Well taken care of. A lot of picnic tables are provided, but signs for where dogs are and aren't allowes are confusinf.
Always a clean and quiet place to be at. Even when its full of people it's still relaxing. However, if you bring your car the parking lot for the park is pay parking. They have been watching the government parking lot next to it. You may end up with a fine. Enjoy!
Such a nice place. The park offers many tables and bbq to picnic and even firepit to chill and enjoy a evening with friends. Its also enormous so its perfect for big events that are usually accessible to everyone!
Very beautiful park with great view for photography. Excellent for community events. Have special area for BBQ. Access to Rideau River.
Super place for an event upto 60 people and lot of space to explore
Great park very clean family oriented, ???? kids can run and play freely.
Lots and lots and lots of picnic tables and shaded areas, perfect for a Sunday lunch.
Great park
Great place for a family BBQ surrounded by beautiful old trees and the lovely Rideau River
Always an awesome park. Even when its just dandelion fluff flying everywhere.
Lovely green space, lots of picnic tables for eating or having a bbq. The bird song is peaceful and lots of wildlife for watching.
Excellent in every way.
The park is great, but I'd like to go once where I didn't spend the evening listening to someone else's music.
It's beautiful!! My family and I went out for a picnic and we had lots of fun. There can be some bugs but I just put on bug spray. There is a beautiful lake there with ducks
Today the park was not too busy so, everybody was able to enjoy it. It was a beautiful day for biking, barbecuing and strolling along. The trees are sparkling green in the sun and on the path you can see a variety of wild flowers. There must be fish in the river because the seagulls were fishing. It doesn't get much better than that for a city park!
The Pow Wow was amazing. the park is perfect for these events
This park is gorgeous and such a great place to go for a picnic or to bike through. I loved coming here for festivals and marathons before covid times and this place always makes me feel nostalgic, with plenty of seating, open space, and memories
Best Park in ottawa
Beautiful large park, lot a of trees, cycling path, park bench tables, a couple of gazebos and right next to the rideau river.
Nice place for quite picnic time. Lots of tables to chose from. Great facilities.
Very private, amazing for family gathering or picnic
Beautiful place to hike and take photos
Decided to check out the park for an afternoon BBQ. They are having a little fire pits/grills there that have adjustable grates that are perfect for charcoal briquettes. The washroom was extremely clean for a public park and the area was maintained extremely well. Beautiful Park, I will return!
A great space for families. A lot of green area, walking paths, beautiful views as well as many picnic tables available. There is a huge area where free parking is available. Bathrooms are open to public, however I wish they were cleaned more often since the smell in there is bad.
Great park. Clean bathrooms, water fountains, lots of picnic tables and bbq.
Another great big park in Ottawa (we have tons of them!). This place has walking and cycling trails, large green spaces, bathroom facilities, etc. It's popular on the weekends. I often see large families and groups of friends come together for big picnics and BBQs.
Good park to have picnic with family and friends. This is a diversity venue different culture display how they spend quality time togrther
I stopped to take a conference call while biking through it earlier this week. When it started to rain I was easily able to move to a sheltered bench. It was very peaceful among the trees watching the squirrels. The washrooms are nice and modern and there are many picnic tables. Over the years have had few work picnics here with a couple hundred folks, always had lots of room and parking.
Always a beautiful park! Also a perfect place for a picnic.
Nice park.. would be nicer if parking didn't cost $8 to visit...
Is a beautiful place and safe for celebrate birthday for children. And is near to my house by car 20 minutes
Nice quiet park, very beautiful, and had a good time BBQing here.
A huge incredibly scenic park in the heart of the city. In the spring hear the roar of the hogs back rapids and in the summer u can explore the bottom of the rapids. Park seems to go on forever . Excellent place to walk the dog or burn out the kids . Fun for all ages.
Huge park with lots of picnic bench some which u can rent.
Great park for family
Beautiful place to hang out and has BBQ facilities as well.
Had a BBQ here. Had a great time. The park was kept neat and clean!
nature trails along the Rideau River walking, bicycle bbq's and tables in place for summertime pick-nick parking washrooms
Great park with lots of group areas available. The only downside is the cost of parking.
Vincent Massey Park is a big park with numerous spots for picnics with family members and friends. The lawns also invite to play soccer or similar sports. The few monuments and buildings are well-maintained and look fantastic.
Nice large pines at the top of the hill. From there you have a secluded view around you. There are foxes and coyotes along with many song birds & birds of pray to be seen. Great place to bring a camera.
Nice running trails with river view
The park is really nice for picnic and bbqs its is really green and really colorful depending upon season
Perfect place for a BBQ and other outdoors activities on the grass
Wonderful park. The best place for summer and fall!
2 medium sledding hills.. not as good as Mooney's bay, not less crowded..
Great park inside the city! Clean and well organized. You may find few wildlife friends there:)
This park is owned by the capital region commission. It's not a city park, nor provincial nor federal. So a few things are unusual. It's gated and fenced. It has a toll entrance ($8 per day). The washroom facilities are superbly clean and good. There are six (or more? I think I counted six) large gazebos, very spaced out. You can technically have several large parties/weddings without interference. Plenty of BBQs around too that don't need booking. We booked one online and paid for it, had an event for ~60 people. When we got there we were the only people in the entire park. The park overlooks the Rideau, and I think it's a bit too slippery and it doesn't have a fence. Something to watch out for if you have curious kids.
Cool park to hangout with friends, have a BBQ, play volleyball or any other sport! And it's free and open to everyone and has seating and washrooms if you gotta take a break
Great place for family get together lots of open space and occasionally see wild life
Heaven for picnic lovers. This park has controlled countless number of picnic tables, all well maintained and distanced. Restrooms are clean and has access to scenic trails. No wonder it has paid parking but well worth the cost. Clean and well maintained park. Will definitely visit again with family and friends.
Great place for a family bbq
A wonderfully large park, close to the Rideau River and Hog's Back falls, with space for all. Copiously long trails, thickets of tall trees to explore or hide, and modern facilities. Wide open spaces nestle up to shady tree areas, with ample picnic tables and facilities. There's even a bandstand you can rent! A beautiful green gem minutes from downtown, and for the city!
Lots open space, picnic tables, grills and shelter if needed from the weather.
Very nice park featuring open green space, picnic areas, trails and perhaps the most architectural washroom in the city parks.
Really nice architecture. Make sure you read the info signs. It gives a good understanding why is looks like it does.
Nice and clean park. It is one of the best picnic sopt in Ottawa.
This is a great park for a picnic and to bring the kids.
It was nice and clean. Paying parking. Lots of tables and such to sit
We used to go bbq there in the summertime and at late night on the weekend the street set would show up there to do some late night street racing saw some pretty wild races there NO nobody does that anymore and I don't know if all the original hibachi bbq ar3 gone you just needed to bring food a grate ttandok cook on and charcoal I'm not sure but tghey used to host the teddy bear picnic every year
Beautiful park. Well maintained. Bathrooms a little small.
What an amazing park in Ottawa, it's huge and there are washrooms in the park not like other parks out there!
Large place to host awesome events. However feels a little empty for other days
Awesome place to have a BBQ Party
A great park for family gatherings and barbecues!
These days open areas in the city where you can find tall trees, running water and wide open greenspace should be treasured. Vincent Massey Park is such a place. It's got picnic tables with hibachi bbqs, a bandstand and also a place for ice cream in the summer. Hogs back falls is the nicest falls in town and ample parking and even a sledding hill in the winter.
Perfect place to organize a family gathering in summertime. A lot of space, multiple BBQ available, variety of spaces.
Great park well maintained
Great park but missing tables.
Could use new bbq's, cost to park is reasonable. Need to better control people renting outdoor space.
Best park in town for a picnic or barbecue. Hundreds of picnic tables. Lots of room
It I a good plate to barbecue with family and friends. Awesome!
Nice park. Not very busy thanks to people being obedient to the government.
Large and beautiful park space full of trees, ideal for family outings, accessible from the bike path, but also has paid parkjngs with a reasonable number of spots.
Very nice park, plenty of space, picnic tables and access to the nearby river
Need a vacation but no time off? Grab some coals, a few burgers, drinks and you are set for a staycation! Looks just like a campground (just don't swim in the water haha) the park is huge! The grounds are beautiful kept, I can GUARENTEE you'll have a great time. This is definitely one of my favorite places in Ottawa.
Quiet and smooth path for bike or scooter, with a small walk to the rapids.
Splendid autumn walk
Very big park! Many picnic tables and green spaces
Great place for a picnic especially with families and big groups. They have grills where you can barbecue. But fair warning it will be veeeeery crowded on weekends and evenings.
Park is very nice and well maintained.
closeby parking, nearby creek and walkway, lots of picnic tables and BBQ grills...
Good????????✅????????
Really nice park.
A beautiful spot. This is in summer, so there is lush forest and gorgeous flowers. Shady nooks by the river very relaxing. Bicyclists on the path very polite. A nice afternoon!
Family-friendly site... clean and accessable
Clean, nice , best park in Ottawa for me. I love ittt lots ????
We held a charity bike rally and BBQ at the park. It's one of Ottawa's gems.
Vincent Massey Park is a great area to hold family bbq picnics and get togethers with its wide open area, bike and walk networks and shoreline. The modern toilets, benches and cover areas are very nice and clean. For several days in June, the indigenous people gather for a pow wow. This festival is free and welcome to everyone on the grounds of indigenous people's land in Vincent Massey Park. You will see stories in the traditional dancing, hear mother earth in the drums, and feel positive spiritually all around in this gathering. There is openness for educational awareness, reconsolidation and healing as well. I highly recommend attending this family gathering.
Quite place. Good for chats and for taking a break on the way to your biking path. I would love to have a BBQ.
Perfect venue for family & friends to meet for bbq, music & outdoor games...
Huge Park, beautiful. Free to use picnic tables and barbeques
They're were pinecones and nature and stuff. It was awesome! Reasonably priced parking.
This park never disappoints when you're looking for a good time, whether to go out and BBQ, or go for a walk!
Lots of BBQ pits bike and walking traills available
Loved the time we spent here. Parking can become confusing one lot is cash the other is credit so be on the look out . Also took a long time to leave waiting in line yo pay the parking!
Great park for parties! The parking rules could be more visible. Ie have a sign by the entrance saying how much parking is on weekends and for what duration. Its not even stated on the city website. It's $3 for the weekend and I'm still unsure if you can park anywhere or only in the visitors area.
Beautiful. Lots of seeing for picnics. Parking was easy. Didn't feel crowded, even on a nice spring day.
Beautiful park with BBQ pits
This is a large beautiful park specifically for picnics and group BBQs. There are lots of picnic tables and BBQ pits. My experience on a Saturday afternoon is that it is a little too crowded/loud. I could hardly have a conversation over nearby music (from the 3+ different parties) in just one small section.
I've been there many times to hang out with friends. We made some BBQ and it was really fun. There are a bunch of tables and BBQ spots. The park is huge, but every weekend there are some parties there. So it's recommended do not arrive too late there. The parking lot is paid. Many people park at front the fence close to the entrance, it's not allowed, but they still do that.
I love this park, it is a large park where the entire community gets to hangout.
Lots of space with different facilities to picnic.
Great place for walking, with good views over the Rideau river. When family gatherings are allowed again, it will be the perfect place for family barbecues and picnics.
Nice walking trail
Very nice place to go with family and friends for a bbq.
large clean park with decent amenities. went for the pow wow and it was organized really well. had a great time. lots of parking.
Lots of amenities and the washrooms were very clean.
It is the best part for a family picnic
Great location for picnics. Lots of tables, spaces for BBQ. Newly built sustainable washroom. Parking on-site (paid). Overall, very clean park.
Out favorite place to have a sandwich from le Bottega or Continental Deli
Great open place.... lacks water play or something for the kids.
Amazingly open and beautiful kept park. It contains many park benches, and a lot of open greeny. There is a bike trail encompassing the Rideau river is beautiful as well, surrounded by many gorgeous l trees and ferns
Beautiful park... simple not too bad at all. My sis in law took me there and i will definitely go back!
Very nice park with large space for a bbq.
Best Park I have ever spent time at.
A good Friend was baptized on this day.
Very decent place for families & kids. Very clean & nice. $8 for parking is worth it. Restrooms are very clean. This is good place to come every week with your family and your friends to spend the whole day. Thumbs up for those who work to keep it nice & clean.
Chanel's park
nice place ,good facility ,great river ,and family point
Beautiful park with lots of trails.
Cool park but I don't think it actually exists, last time I tried to get here I reached some water and could not swim, would not recommend water again h2o/10
This a nice place for a picnic and just to relax after a stressful week. You should also visit during fall, the trees and leaves are so pretty. I really enjoyed my visit here
Clean, nice, beautiful please with barbecue place and enough benches for sitting.
Very nice and clean
Lovely trails. A Must visit in Ottawa!
Always loved this park. The surroundings were beautiful. The trees were changing to reds, orange and gold. Lovely warm fall day.
Awesome park. Everything anyone wants for a picnic or just to get away from the city, in the city. Beautiful park.
Great outdoors space. Lots of picnic tables. For pokemon fans, lots of gyms and Pokestops. Great for bicyclists.
Amazing place for BBQ and Playing Soccer, Badminton, Frisbee and football.
Great walking and hiking along the river
Amazing park with beautiful fall colors
Needs better parking authority.
Really a cool place to walking, jogging, running, cycling as well as doing barbeque or any other day out activities. Quite a few water points. Lot of trees with full of oxygen and fresh air.
The park is nice, but poorly run / managed. We went for a picnic, and it seemed like every other group had brought a giant speaker working at max volume (the kind you’d expect from a professional DJ), so if you didn’t bring a giant speaker you had 5 different types of music blasting your way from every direction. So we had our picnic and left early and the parking gate was broken so it took 20 minutes to leave the parking lot. So the park is nice and if you enjoy a loud environment then it’s a great place.
Wonderful place to hang out with friends and has provision for barbecue as well.
Great park, lots of picnic tables. Nice near the water and fairly well maintained. But near busy roads
Beautiful park with walking trails by the water, free parking, and plenty of picnic tables
Very nice and big park. But people should be considerate and clean up the mess. There was a birthday party a day before and they left a complete mess.
Nice park, I run through here most days. Watch out for speeding cyclists and if you need to use a washroom they do not open until some time in May.
Very nice place and its washrooms are very clean
Nice place to sit down with family and friends. Beautiful greenery
My Kids loved this park! Safe and clean and
Really nice lots of bike trails, bbq pits, lots of seating but you can't bring your dog and having a well behaved dog that alone ruined it for me! What kind of park doesn't allow dogs especially if they are on leash!
Fun place for picnics with family and friends
It is great place to take your family for a picnic
Lots of Picnic tables, on the spot available coal BBQs, bathroom facilities, parking, everything needed for good family and friends fun.
Washroom were very smelly a mile away I was able to detect the washrooms. This was terrible. There should be more washrooms and should be well maintained.
Nice washroom and beautiful structures. It would be a lovely place if they had a splash pad
Nice park for all the family
Very nice and relaxing our family enjoyed our picnic a lot
Nice place to hangout with family and friends. Good ambience and sufficient play area for kids. Also has a washroom
Nice trails. Lots of trees. Great for a walk.
Love it , very cool place to spend time with family and friends
Great place to take the kiddos to run off some steam
Wonderful day at the park; judo class in the outdoors!
Very clean, lots of picnic tables and places to eat or just be outside
Ther is tented places if it's rain
Great place for a picnic when it's not invaded by mosquitos or muffins.
Lots of green open space, picnic tables and clean, well maintained washrooms.
Great place to take the family and walk around
What a nice venue for anyone wanting to make a family gathering come to life, not to mention the washrooms were in mint condition, very impressed!
Awesome parks with lots of nice places to hang out or have barbecue or anything in that park. Well done our city for this beauty.
This is such a wonderful place where all groupsgot together with garbage bags and filled them to keep the park clean. So proud of my hometown people. Place is terrific for picnics equipped with tables' restrooms, trails for bikes, walking, wheelchairs and lush green open spaces for any kind of summer play. Even lots of trees to hide from the hot sun. There are covered ares to sit under as well
Beautiful, good for group picnic. Clean, spacious. Available rest rooms. great place for a barbecue.
Not much to do/see here. Park is huge and one area of parking is $1/half hour or $8 for the whole day but just walk about a bit, the parking lot right next to the paid one is free. There are washrooms, but typical of what you see at other parks - nothing spectacular and often stinky. There's no play structure, no beach, swimming, basketball court, etc. It's just good for BBQs and pretty spacious so good for big crowds too. Don't worry about reserving a space in advance.
Beautiful park... lots of space for open air fun. Lots of tables bbq's. Cycling and walking trails. Excellent spot.
Large park, many separated picnic tables with fire pits and Charcoal BBQ's, multiple sheltered pavilions, and clean washrooms. The only downside, not really, is the paid parking. Nothing in Life is free, I guess.
It was very nice and well kept for a park.
Great place for family and friends gathering
Beautiful park. Lots of green space with sun or shade. Clean washrooms.
Great park to go to. Tons of shade and places to sit down at.
OMG ???? nice parks
Great park for BBQ. Wish the bathrooms wouldn't be locked...otherwise having a paid parking here now (used to be free) is a little too much. To clarify, I was there numerous times during open hours over the summer/fall, and most of the time the bathroom was locked.
You can barbecue there Nice spaciuos park
Loved it
Very good for gathering outdoor and enjoying the nature
Great park to host the annual Aboriginal Summer Solstice. A great outing for the entire family around June 21st every year.
Love this park. But can only access in the winter months bc I have dogs. In the summer it is crowded with people that are hate or are afraid of dog. ????
a very nice park with beautiful fall foliage!
This place is amazing so many trails and large places to sit, I'd 100% reccomend this place for a picnic or if you just want to chill
Great. What a fantastic city we live in with such beautiful green space to enjoy
It was calm. Not much people, it’s mostly almost never crowded. Prefect place for a picnic????
Lots of parking ($1 per 30 minutes) and lots of picnic tables and BBQs and green space. However, tables are fairly close and there were a few groups playing really loud music which sort of ruined it. I don’t go to a park to have to shout my conversations like I’m at a nightclub.
Great park lots of spots for bbqing picnicking
Walked through the park in the rain today. The path along the Rideau River through the park is blocked near the Trillium Line construction site is now blocked till next year. It is still a nice park to walk through. Still some colour as all the leaves have not fallen yet.
Great park ina central location ... Beech is a little under kept because it gets very busy during the summer... Otherwise great place
Nice park with work out stations. All it was missing was a splash pad. Only reason it's a 3 star rating.
Belle park. Nice place for a walk with your dog.
Beautiful and serene environment to have fun with family and friends.
Great park with BBQ machines free to use
Great park with clean bathrooms!!!
It's so nice there. Vincent Massey is right beside the the river. All kinds of trees and flowers, people go there to BBQ, walk their dogs, run and bike along the bicycle path. There's also public washrooms which appear to be well maintained.
Nice area. Large field. Benches/tables are old. Bathrooms aren't clean or new at all.
Very nice park with parking lot and picnic area with grill for making good bbq's
Great walking / biking trails along the river, nice combination of shade and Sun and even when it's busy there lots of room for everyone.
Big place with enough space for social distancing but be aware of mosquitoes in sun-set and night. It has several barbeque stands.
Vary spacious park with a lot of parking spots
It was very nice many people over there
Really great park, close to transit
One of the best Ottawa's park to be relax and enjoy your time with your family, friends
Still wet in most areas, but if you stay on the path it's a beautiful walk.
A hidden gem with ample parking for an afternoon stroll. However, the lots in the park require payment - but the price is reasonable considering the level of maintenance of the facilities. Especially photographic this fall. While it can get crowded during special events, lots of space on weekdays or average weekends.
It's a great way to spend the day outside. They have BBQ grills and picnic tables. Also a public washroom.
Great place for family picnic or walkabout.
Our favourite park in Ottawa
big huge park with bbqs and public washrooms.
A beautiful park to meet all family members
Best somali dishes
Nice little park. Great play structure and exercise stations.
Paid parking but the paying machine is at the far end of the parking lot. Nothing distributed in the huge lot. The park is decent but for this big issue especially when you are not young anymore. There are quite a few things going in this park during the year Aboriginal festival. Communities meetings, companies get together. Nice location near Rideau River
This park is a Oasis in the middle of the city, great place to relax and have a meal with family and friends, bbq's are in place and other then parking no fees for park use(unless you want to reserve for a function).Because it is a bbq/picnic area there is a strict no dogs policy.Just like when going out for a meal, leave your dog at home so as not to disturb other park users and the wildlife. There is a lot of misinformation found here and on third party sites. As with any search for information on the internet go to the locations own website,In this case the n.c.c.ca runs this park and on the n.c.c. site you will learn it is not a great place to walk your dog as others suggest,in fact at eash entrance to the park you will see no dog signs whether you enter in a car or on foot and the n.c.c. does have the power to levy fines Also some suggest parking in the lot next to the park.It belongs to the government and Canada Post buildings, although the paid gates may be up when you arrive they may not be when you leave or you may find you have been ticketed or towed. It is not a "free" lot as some have suggested. Also some say no need to reserve, again bad info. The park has a bandshell and 2 gazebo,s.The bandshell and 1 gazebo can be reserved,For large events or group gatheringsa reservation is recommended to ensure a area large enough for your group in addition some events require plug in power found at these locations. Not only are plug in/power locations limited but as well you must have a additional permit to use the power in almost all cases. As I said don't trust info on third party sites go to the venues site or call ahead to avoid disapointment, Cheryl parking is looked after by impark, check to see if their site details fee's.I belive it is based on duriation of stay with daily max of $8,pretty cheap when you split amongst passengers for a day out and a whole lot cheaper then parking roadside and risking a ticket which does happen on occasion. .There are 3 sections to the lots, one just inside gate which leads to the mid section and as well a lower lot.All are for vistors the only restrictions are marked for handicap or no parking area's.Only AUTHORISED vehicles are allowed to leave lots onto paths or fields. Omer..Beach? unkempt/ VMP does not have a beach.
Beautiful location with recent landscaping. Great place for a pow wow.
The worst management I faced ever, I am waiting since more than one hour to exit the park because the only exit that all cars need to stop and pay... Still there is 17 cars in front of me .
Lots of picnic tables:) with green space
A park with a nice atmosphere and plenty of space for barbecuing and picnics.
Great place to go for a pow wow. Great place for parking, big open space.
Great spot to meet up for a barbeque with friends!
I was taken aback by having to pay for parking. After the fact I realized that there was parking further away that I wouldn't have had to pay for.
This place gave us quite a lot for no dollars. Oh, wait, I had to pay $8 for 7 hours of parking. We got a small barbecue to cook on, clean washrooms and clean water supply. A picnic table. It wasn't crowded. The mosquitoes were few and feeble. Great. Now I know why I pay my taxes! Oh, and a visit to see the fall foliage in its dying splendour last year left my rods and cones vibrating for days.
Had the place more or less to ourselves. Bathrooms were closed.
Lots of space to share with others
It's a park. Concession stand was not just closed but looked abandoned although the bathroom facilities were open. Overall a nice park for scenery, but not for facilities.
Very nice fall colour but the trail along the cannel was blocked half way.
Great place for a walk! Wish they cleared the walking paths of snow though since they do charge for parking. Tons of picnic benches too. Can't wait to visit in the spring and summer.
Nice park, paid parking at the machines and washrooms available
Nice and big park. Good for picnic and other formal programs.
This is a perfect place for a family picnic. Lots of picnic tables and lots trees to shade. There are even permanent structures to shelter you from sun and rain. Bring something to BBQ on the hibachi bbq's that are scattered throughout. Ample parking and a great place for the kids to run around.
Beautiful park near the river. Good for bbq biking picnic swimming is Mooney s bay side . Lots of space and beautiful things to see . Has washrooms but might be closed due to covid.
