This Park belongs to the category of Park.
Nice lake, plenty of space. Good place to swim
Beautiful natural scenery and within the boundaries of the city. A gem.
Perfect size trail if you want about an hour walk around the lake
Great views for an amazing trail. Well maintained and lots of parking available.
Great place for a swim
great place for kayaking pre appointment would be better before you got there they book also on the spot they have kayaks for single or double maintaining well and handling good quick and experienced staff great place for the weekend around greenery and water around feels like natural beauty all around problem of the parking you can park at far away on the road or the very front and then walk your self about 2km most people park on streets or on the road you can also get your own kayak and surf great place with family members to visit for sure kayaking rent generally cost 25/hr or 35/2 hrs for adults must visit in summer or spring time...????
Super fantastic time❣ Bring your family for a fun filled time. Lights galore, food court, music and vendors. Staff was amazing with any questions and sanitization was top notch ????
This is a great place to walk, hike, bike or swim.
What a great place. First time I went there was a couple of months ago. It was a long walk around a long lake. Looking forward to going back again. Really beautiful. Little trails in the middle as well.
Great place for swimming! And its overall just a beautiful place to enjoy longs walks.
A gem of nature tucked away in the city, with tame trails, rougher trails, and paddling! A favorite with local dogwalkers, but there are always those irresponsible owners who don't clean up after their dogs.
Beautiful place too bad it wasn't off leash for dogs. My pup loves it there but he hates being on a leash... such a shame
Quiet and Serene. Clean and can swim in the lake!
Nice and easy trail for family walks, pet friendly park. Well maintained sections, around lake and woods.
The best place for relaxation
Superior spot for a hike while in the city!
Ill call it Halifax's secret. Eveeyones so into the beach this place hasbleas people. Less sand aswell but for me thats a plus, it means less cleaning
Great spot for picnics, fishing, hiking and canoeing. There are a few walking trails you can access and lots of places to fish. Good place to spend the summer days in the water with the kids!
Clean place to swim, with nice water.
A great dog-friendly park near Halifax. Very busy in the summer, excellent trails for easy walks/hikes year round
Amazing except mosquito good for photography
Great hiking park inside the city yet taking you places that feel like you are in the wilderness. Good morning walk on the trails or watching sunset on the dam side.
Rocky beach, but have a nice hiking path
Awesome place to hangout. Good for all ages.
Beautiful place
A lot of work has gone into our Provincial park. Ive been going to that lake since a baby. The pump house ....which is now a boat out area..... was the spot back in the day. Lots of memories
I have always loved the beauty, serenity, and solitude of Long Lake... Great for dogs, families, hiking, swimming, canoeing, skiing, e.t.c
Trail is very wide and open feels like they chopped down a lot of trees to make this path. Doesn't feel like a trail. Trail doesn't go along the lake. Not the hike you want to do if you want to hike. It's a very manicured gravel trail. Great for dogs and those requiring accessibility.
There's a trail from the parking lot to the lake. Walk at your own risk and signs for you to pick up after you pet. Ten minute walk to the lake. Beautiful and majestic view as you watch the sun go down. The trail is well shaded, plenty of mosquitos.
So many different trails to try. A great place for all levels of hiking.
Groomed and ready to walk trail that's friendly for dogs. Lots of little places to go off trail and hang out by the water and enjoy the peace of the area.
Great trails available here.
Best bass fishing spot I've found
I LOVE going to Long Lake to walk and bike. Today was absolutely spectacular. Brought my brother, who is visiting from out of province. He was very impressed with how clean the park was and he loved the scenery! I especially love the crushed gravel on it now! Much easier to walk and bike on it!
Good, just really hard to find your way around when you aren't a local
Great place to take kids & stroller or just go for a trail run
Beautiful trails and the ability to paddle boat or kayak around the lake is amazing!
Beautiful trails and lake
very nice lake for swimming
love long lake great place for walking and also bonfires and fishing
Close and beutiful but watch out mosquitoes
Nice place for a short or long walk. Well groomed trails, beautiful lakes. Not crowded. Shared the trail with cyclists, joggers, and leashed dogs
Nice gravel trail for a family hike.
Took a bicycle tour through the area. Very good trails.
Nice place to walk. Some places are nice , you need to step out from the trails to see it.
Great place to walk the dog! Remember - Keep picking up your garbage!
Favourite lake near our house. Very quiet and a good place to sit and read. The beach is rocky and not accessible from the trails but you can walk through the forest and find some good quiet spots.
Beautiful walking trails you can take your dog with you
Great place for a hike with the dogs!
Lots of bikes and 4 wheelers
Not too busy, and a great walk for dogs
Beautiful walk. One of my favorite spots in HFX to go for a walk ????
It's great but wish there was a bike rental near here lol
Great, east way to get out of the city. Always a quiet spot to sit, swim and watch dogs.
A very nice place! You can swim in the lake, hiking around biking or jogging
Beautiful old growth forest with gorgeous spots to sit and picnic. The lake itself is fantastic for a summer swim!
Love this trail . Needs garbage cans all around though , a bathroom in middle and rocks are hard to walk on .
Great place to have short-mid length weekend walk surrounded with panoramic views.
Nature is always the best bet
Beautiful place for a hike. Several side paths you can take ! Easy to explore ! Although one path leads to a beaver dam ???? so be careful ! Beautiful place highly recommend
Beautiful. the lakes, trees, foilage, and well laid out. though finer gravel should have been added on the trails. not just the coarser grade. it cost more $$$$ but much safer for bicyclists and runners! ;)
I enjoyed my walk
This park is fantastic for a quick getaway from the city. The lake is great to swim in, and my dog loves to visit. Note that the main trails are on leash!
Great place. The water was cool but not cold. Clean as well. I learned you fan rent kayaks or standup board close by as well.
Unique lake! Great for walking, cycling and of course photography!!!
Amazing park with multiple entrances to choose. Good for walking, boating(restricted), fishing. Access via; Parking lot off of/or anywhere along Northwest Arm Drive. Service Entrance on Old Sambro Road near McIntosh Run. St Margaret's Bay road outbound prior to Prospect Road. Prospect Road behind HEC/Tim's through field.
They've made this a lot better in the past few years.
The Long Lake Park is close to my home and is a great way to get in touch with nature while enjoying a healthy, brisk walk. It gives that feeling of being out-of-the-city, so it is a good place to get away from it all - even on a weekday.
A great city park with walking/bike trails. A gem in the heart of Halifax!
Great place to go for a swim (bring swim shoes for the rocks). If only there weren't as many idiots having (highly illegal) campfires so often.
Very nice nature trails. Kid friendly. Easy to walk
Beautiful public park. Excellent spot for a run, walk or bike.
Best off leash dog park!
nice waterfall close to Bayers Lake
Beautiful beach!
I love this place. One of the best spot to chill whenever you're bored or have some free time to spend. It's also good for jogging and cycling
Great place to take the dog and go for a swim
I once loved this park, before the development, before the hundreds of thousands of trees needlessly cut, the acres of blueberry fields destroyed...good job Halifax, destroy the very things that make you wonderful...
It was a nice pretty park where we decided to have a little mc Donald's picnic. Beautiful views and a bit challenging trail.
The trail is not marked which makes navigation difficult unless you have a trail map which you can easily get on your smartphone to follow along with where your going. The scenes around the lake and spots to swim or let the dog swim were very nice !
Lots of various trails to walk on. Well maintained.
The lake and trail system is dope, there's plenty of space for everyone. Just don't break your glass bottles there, ya muppets! My dog doesn't like broken glass, and neither do your feet. Aside from the odd hunk of glass or forgotten trash, it's a solid spot.
Simple yet lovely little trail system. Needs to be better marked as you can get lost quite easily in the circuit.
Trails are not well kept and were not marked.
Lots of fun.
Great and we'll maintained trails
I really enjoyed in Glow Halifax.
We love long lake. Great fishing and good swimming. Lovely spot to enjoy with the family.
New tennis on the park look great.
A gentle walking trail with easy access off Old Sambro Rd. Great for a quick walk to connect with nature and recharge in a peaceful setting.
Fun trails and big rocks to chill on on a hit day! Plus you're not surrounded by people! It's nice! Lool
Love this place for walks!
Great lake for swimming! A bit rocky along shoreline, but some nice gentle entry areas. Love that it is so close to Halifax.
If you are into hiking great spot to go
Nice area but the trails are hard on the feet if not properly equipped
Beautiful spot. Not many fish though.
Nice trails around a couple large lakes. Pretty popular place so can be quite busy... Watch for unleashed dogs if taking yours out for the day and are not dog friendly (not an off leash park). Easy walking trails suitable for everyone.
Great path for all. Watch for people with unleashed dogs though.
Always a new trail to explore or rock niche to curl up in and simply enjoy the lake. Accessible by bus or car, Long Lake has a lot to offer. Swimming during summer is a real treat - you'll often find parking is difficult during the warmer months. I always bring a blanket and a thermos of something hot to drink as I always stay way longer than anticipated!
This beautiful park has so much to see and explore.
Serene beauty. Perfect place for swimming and chilling with your friends.
This is a true gem. A trail that is safe, clean and offers lakes, side trails. shrubs, trees and history. In summer you can swim or just lie on the rocks/beach and have a snack or close your eyes and listen to the sounds of nature.
A great walking trail for families.
Excellent walking /Hiking trails. Explore nature an enjoy wildlife.
Very nice walking trail
easy trails. nice lake view
With no powerboat traffic this is a great lake for beginner to intermediate canoe, kayak or inflatable boat paddlers. Parking near the boat rental place is limited, so try to avoid peak times. I hear it is also a good spot for fishing, but I haven't tried that yet myself. There is a nice, short, handicapped accessible hiking trail from the main entrance off Northwest Arm (Dunbrack), or for more of a challenge, take the trail from St Margaret's Bay Road.
Always great to explore throughout the 4 seasons!
Awesome walking trail. Lots of great scenery.
Nice place, lots of people walking their dogs ???? some off leash, so if youre not a dog person beware of that . Its a good spot for swimming and the park is rather large with many entrances. Nice place for a picnic on a summer day .
Had a great day chillin with these ducks the other day!
Nice trail. Lake is better than chocolate lake but beware of glass pieces near lake. Overall nice experience on a sunny day
Beautiful walk and beautiful waterfalls.
Large nature area, lots of different trails to discover and good swimming in summer.
Nice place
I like the trails in this park they are long and you can walk for a long time. it is next to the lake which makes it pretty nice I would like it to have a kids playground.
A really great, accessible wilderness park right on the edge of the city.
Good for biking
Great trail for the dog. Yet people just litter everywhere there are no garbage cans or cleaning crew far as i can see
Awesome place to walk and run! ❤
Beautiful park. The new trails on the Northwest Arm Drive side are a little big (they're basically a road through the woods), but they're covered in crusher dust which makes them a little more accessible. There's a washroom in the parking lot, and benches all along the way. But, if you can, head off the main trail into some of the old trail system. That's where it is really beautiful!
Beautiful park. Too bad not all trails appear on google maps
Did you know Long Lake Provincial Park used to be an old communities and still carries the ghosts? This is one of my favourite hikes and favourite places to explore. It is an old lost community that used to exist in what is now Long Lake Provincial Park. Deep inside the park where most people don't go on trails called Old Coach Road and Foses Hill, you will find old cemeteries, headstones, old foundations, and other remnants of the lives that used to live there. Love going hiking in there.
Great spot, the gems are in the random small trails you see as you walk along the main path. I recommend Withrod Loop
Our favourite place in the city to walk and explore with our dog and kids. The main paths are clean and well maintained but lots of smaller paths to take and explore near the water if your more adventurous. Some great hiking paths also. Great park for dogs. It is "on leash" however alot of owners don't abide by this rule so keep that in mind if your pup is reactive or nervous of other dogs. The colours in the fall are simply stunning.
Awesome trail system, very well groomed. Perfect 5K loop for a run or a stroll with your dog.
Nice trail and facilities, but the large gravel makes it hard to run on
Beautiful provincial park. Great place to take dogs for a walk off leash!
Well-groomed walking trails around the beautiful lake. There are some moderate nature trails that go around the lake completely too.
A lovely walk around the lake.
The lake was mediocre. The trails were the same. The only good thing about the lake was the prosperity.
Beautiful trails and plenty of little spots for camping especially since the lake is right there for those who have a water filter system it's great, leave no trace of course!! I'll be back again 4 sure!
Great first trip to this new park system. Love it! Can't wait to come back.
Beautiful well-kept trail lovely pristine lake
If you are looking for an escape from the city this is the park for you! As a trail runner I find the combination of loops nearly inexhaustible, and the ever changing scenery refreshing.
Great hiking trails, especially for snowshoeing.
Great park in the city with a rugged pristine feel. Easy access..
all of spryfields finest hobos drink amongst the trails such a fine sight for walking pleasures so for safety measures bring a can of lysol
Loved it! Not very crowded and has scenic beauty. Calm and relaxing!! Definitely going back.
Great dog friendly park, good hiking trails.
Beautiful spot for walking and swimming. A great retreat in an accessible place in the city.
Nature ❤️❤️ I love this park in Autumn season
Beautiful park
Great park! Little parking so going on a long weekend might be hard to find a spot. It’s a nice walk in not paved which is nice gives it a feeling if being off the beaten path within the city. Water is clean expect it to be rocky in the water bring water shoes. You could get turned around if you go to deep I think you can get maps for it. Or mark it on your phone before you go where you parked your car. So many paths to get in around and could do it several times and still enjoy a new adventure each time!
Nice trails.
Great location within the city to get out and take in some nature. Trail is easy to walk, run, bike or push a stroller on.
It's beautiful place to for quiet time and short hike plus the near the lake you can rent kayak. It's located just 15-20 min away from Downtown Halifax, you can come by bus as well. The lake is kids friendly with plenty of place to sit and enjoy the calm water.
Not too busy, big area, and lots of trails to explore. Great swimming there once you get past the rocks
Very scenic!
Not easy to reach the water. There is a main parking near North West Arm, this will lead to a very long walk to the water. You may wish to find another parking spot to reduce your pain, especially with family and KIDS. The water edge is stone and no Sandy beach on the side which I have seem. The waters are clear and nice. No facilities and no seating areas nearby the water, unless you head far from the water. I have been told about some toilets, but have not seen any. The area is big anyway !
Very well maintained trails. The loop from the parking lot off of northwest arm drive takes about 45 min to one hour to walk. Very good for strollers. Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash.
Beautiful park and lovely lake. It is also good for walking and biking.
I was so excited to see the trail extends down to Dentith Rd. now . We walked just short 8k today and had a great time!
Great place for walking, in groups or by yourself.
Lovely place with tons of opportunities to have a great time with your family and friends, can be a little busy at times but all around great spot. Last summer me and friend had a wonderful time scuba diving, very cool environment. If you ever get a chance stop in and check it out
Good
The rocks on the trail are very big making it hard on your feet. Make sure to wear thick soled shoes. Very jars to push a baby stroller or a wheelchair. I saw a couple hide their stroller in the woods and opt to carry their baby because it was to rough of a ride. I also saw a man in a motorized wheelchair turn around and leave for the same reason. Also saw a woman fall due to the oversized gravel. Beautiful scenery though.
Spring walk in the woods. So fresh and uplifting. We did some bushwacking and leaping on rocks to avoid pools of water. Loved every minute.
Amazing park for hiking/running.
Love the new boat rental place and the swim course.
Great place to walk, and you meet such nice people, it's also perfect for biking on
Great main trail for walking, running etc
Amazing park. Looks like it would be an amazing paddle. We took the "trail" to the water fall. Honestly I'm not so sure there is a trail at parts. But if you walk in the woods with the lake in view most of the time you'll end up at the stream. Follow that upstream and uphill for a few minutes and you'll find the falls.
Great walking trails through the woods. Lovely views of the lake. Lots of wildlife to look out for. Great place to take the dogs for a hike or swim, but it's technically an on-leash only park. So if you bring your dog keep an eye out for park officers as they will ticket if your dog is off-leash.
A beautiful nature walk, well maintained
Good hair cuts at Foxy Moon. Saskia's pedicures are heavenly!
Beautiful natural snd gorgeous place to walking...
This park is huge, and it's lovely to know there's a nature reserve of such magnitude, in a place you wouldn't expect. You can still park easily, and go to get coffee and be back to the trail which is big enough for bikes dog walks runs you name it
So pretty
Beautiful new trail in Long Lake Park. Only downside is for dog owners. There is no off leash time or area. Hopefully they rectify this.
A clean, welcoming groomed walking trail on the edge of Halifax. Accessible to strollers, walking, jogging, and biking, with lake access for swimming and non-motorized watercraft. Not too flat and boring, and not too technical. A great time for everyone!
Awesome park to walk ..the trail is very smooth.
Breath taking view
Great place to go for a walk or bike ride! Park is dog friendly as well!
Beautiful long trails. Great place to walk your dog!
Great park, close to the city. New trails need some work.
It is a beautiful place but if you don't know your way around it like been dropped in a corn maze! How about some signage. I know there are a few. Very few. Just saying.
My favourite park in all of HRM, especially for walking dogs! The only downside is the limited amount of parking.
Beautiful scenery!! Loved going swimming and walking the trails!
Nice place to walk your dogs
Great walking spot, but have to avoid on sunny weekends as big families will come out on a stroll with their untrained dogs. Otherwise okay. You can go off the main trail and go through the smaller trails in the woods that lead to the lakefront. There are also watersports in the summertime on one side of the lake.
So many different spots to stop and enjoy!
It's a lot of fun to go to Long Lake on the rare occasions that the weather is good in the HRM. There are tons of trails to get lost on and new beaches to discover. When the water gets warmer the swimming is great too.. Lots of adventures to be had for adults and kids alike. It can get really busy, but since there are so many trails, it's not too difficult to find your own secluded spot. The only downside is that parking can be tricky.
A beautiful spot with amazing fall colours and wide, well defined trails. I've done the older side of the park many times but had never explored the newer section. It was absolutely beautiful, though I wonder if the size of the crushed gravel would make it hard to run on.
Sooo beautiful hear love to walk the trails and so clean
A very nice place to come and walk around.
Great place for a walk.
Quiet, peaceful, yet still within easy reach of the city. A quick place to get away and get some dirt time.
Nice place for dayouting with friends and family. Quiet and clean.
Excellent place for a walk with Brooks, streams and a lake. It is a great way to and connect with nature within the city.
One of our favourite parks for hiking with the dog or kayaking. The main trail is paved and has beautiful views, but the best views are in the unpaved wilderness trail.
Great place to go for a walk or hang out by the water :) beatiful.. better when they clean he garbages hah
Beautiful trails and interesting spots to explore. It's a slice of wilderness in the city.
Love it my favourite place to ,,
Absolutely beautiful trail. Lots of parking and so relaxing.
Natural beauty....I like yo walk through it...
Such a calm place with beautiful trees and such greenery. This is one of those serene places one would like to visit every alternate weekend on a nice sunny evening. Just don't forget to carry a hammock with you because it's so much to read a book along the lake in a hammock.
Great place for an afternoon walk, a little hard to get to without a car. Trails aren't perfect but enjoyable nonetheless.
I'm giving 5 stars because I camp there 2 nights & it was super quiet, safe & lovely.
A good trail for walking, jogging and running. No amenities. You'd need a car to reach here.
Very good place for walking and fishing. The trail is wide and about 4.5 kms. I love this place!
Beautiful! Well kept, easy access, nothing taxing. Just lovely.
Great walk! Tons of dogs and well maintained!
Pretty place, rocky and a bit slimey but once you get in enough it's a nice swim.
Nice big trails, good alternative to point pleasant
I was looking for a place to walk my dog, and we hit the jackpot coming here! It's a great little oasis, within the city bounds that allows you to take your dog off leash and let them roam! It is only a short 15 minute drive from our downtown home, so it's a great and short escape from the city. Parking, which is not always easy to find for Provincial Parks, was incredibly easy to locate, and enough spots were available for us. The park itself is clean (no dog poop on the trail). My only complaint, is that it did not feel too far removed from the city. When we escaped the dense woods, we were still able to see tall buildings in the distance. As well, the density of people was quite high. If you're anything like me, I like the 'escape' of hiking - the feeling of being alone in the woods. I would still recommend visiting here and we will definitely be back here again.
It's absolute the most beautiful walk you would have!
Lovely trails and decent fishing
This is a good place to go walking or jogging.there is plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot off of the northwest arm drive.the parking lot on old Sambro Rd is smaller but at this location paddle boards and kayaks are available to rent. Long lake is great for swimming too. I wouldn't go so far as to say it is good for skating though. . .lots of times it doesn't completly freeze in the center at the widest part .
Amazing place for hiking, walks, swim, kayaking
Amazing for dogs nice clear trails
Really beautiful park for hiking.
One of best places I've seen and it's really peaceful
Since renovations, it's so easy to get around!
Very beautiful trail. It's to bad they didn't use crusher dust instead of large gravel
This is a beautiful parkand well worth the visit
Awesome spot to swim. Kayak rentals available
Wide and well kept paths with the occasional break in the forest for a view of the lake, or a less well kept trail to bring you to the shore.
Honestly I liked it better before the upgrades when it was a local secret, but I appreciate that the trails are limited-mobility accessible now.
Great walking paths
I don't know were this is.
Beautiful new walking trails off Northwest Arm Drive that are nice & wide. It has a big parking lot across from the new subdivision going up on that road. Bugs aren't too bad in here at all and some people go swimming in the lakes surrounding the trails too.
It was perfect for me and my doggo. We had a great jaunt through a beautiful forest and then she went for a quick little swim.
Beautiful, if the outdoors is something you love then it's worth a visit!
Beautiful lake for swimming and boating. Great walking trails. Enjoy the nature and scenery while hiking in this great park
Great trails/walkways. Lots of lake access.
Wonderful park not far from downtown. Extensive groomed trail system and excellent swimming/canoeing/fishing. Lots of trout and small mouth bass.
I use the access off Old Sambro more than the trails, for paddling, and always love it! Depending on the wind, it can make for a long/hard paddle down the lake, or an easy one! Water is lovely for swimming: rocky and drops off quickly.
Very expensive to rent a kayak or SUP at the lake so I suggest taking your own. Great for kayaking or distance swimming. Limited parking.
Clean and beautiful
Had an amazing experience over here. That was the first time I was doing kayaking and it was just tremendous. Good place if you want some alone time with nature and calming atmosphere around you.
Absolutely my favourite spot to take my dog, we go for multi-hour hikes and just get lost in the woods. We prefer the St Margaret's Bay Rd entrance in Bayers Lake. Beach is usually pretty quiet, rocky but flat a long ways out. Great piece of heaven in the middle of HRM.
10 minutes for the city. What a great escape. Also a good place for a dog walk.
Beautiful place to go for a walk,
Great park outside the city, great for an easy stroll with the option to go off the main gravel.
Awesome lake to swim in with lots of shore line, can pretty much find your own little private beach if you walk a few minutes!
Went for a run here, well maintained path. Beautiful scenery.
First time kayak renting within the city (only my second or third time in general) and it was an amazing experience! The online booking was simple, and at the time of booking, my friend and I both signed the waivers and we were off to the races. Upon arrival, we left one personal item each at the counter, grabbed a paddle and life jacket and we're led to our kayak. As I had previous experience with the kayak, the staff briefly did a breakdown of what to expect and we were off to feel the find in our hair. The lake is absolutely stunning , especially for being in the city. The peacefulness we felt while being out there was a blessing. The equipment was all sanitized, the staff was lovely, the experience was lovely and I highly recommend visiting the kayak rental to new and experienced water-sport enthusiasts. We had a touch of a hard time finding parking but there are spots around if you look within walking distance. Thanks so much to the staff for a lovely experience!!!
Beautiful Park!
Nice trail with birds and squirrels and paths to the lake.
I assisted in the construction of these trails by hauling in a fair bit of the material. Beautiful wide trails with great views.
It is so nice to have parks like this so close to everything in the city. It is just a few minutes from many residential areas in Halifax and it is easy to reach. There are many good parking spots. I walked the park in the winter, but I …
Amazing space please respect it and pick up your dogs poops ????
Very accessible. Lovely trails. Beautiful scenery.
Great location, easy access, groomed trails, and great views.
This has been a great go-to spot for some outdoor swimming.
Another nice spot in the City of Lakes.
One of my favourite lakes
Nice spot for a family walk around the lake. Dogs are on-leash at all times (assuming everyone is following the rules) and there's a several benches and garbage bins along the way.
The trail is good.. up and down but ok
This has some good hiking trails (dogs on leash). There are also spots on the lake front to relax in the sun and take a swim with the family. In the summer, HRM organizes a kayak rental stall for adults and kids. A double kayak can fit 2 adults and 1 child, and for an hour costs about $40. We had a great time kayaking and swimming here!
Beautifully maintained trails with a large green space further in. Great spot for dog walking.
Beautiful walking trail by the lake.
Nice wide trails, signage, benches and garbages. Yay reviewing nature
This is an awesome location filled with plenty of picturesque scenery and a bunch of different trails to explore. It is a lot of fun! I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area.
Lots of walking trails and plenty of scenery. I spend a lot of time there in all seasons. Another hidden gem in the Halifax area for those who like to get out of their condo and walk the dog.
Nice place
Amazing spot. Get in here when temperatures are high. Can also do kayaking. Definitely recommend and would also go there more.
Loved it. We saw a chipmunk and beautiful monarch butterflies. Great alone, together or as a group. Can't wait to ride bikes thru.
Beautiful spot near the city to experience nature and get out for fresh air. Most of it is not well suited to people with mobility concerns, the terrain is very rocky and steep. Great for hiking with supportive boots!
Nice place for hiking, camping
I like sand beaches more, but the view was beautiful and the water was chill but gentle. There was some broken glass amung the rocks in the water, so be careful
The new walking trails across the street from long lake village are amazing and have helped the community to gain access to this awesome park. Great for bicycles, runners, strollers and those with accessibility needs
this is the absolutely best running trail in Spryfield... perfect amount of distance from my house, doing the full trail and back. Can't wait until the extensions get completed...Running on the trail, makes me feel like I am away from the city traffic and exhausts fumes... People will complain about the size of the gravel/rocks, but I've found this to be more of a help in my training than something to complain about... changing my strides, help to work my leg muscles in different ways than just running by "mote"... my only complaints are: dog owners who do not pick up after their dogs or the ones that allow their dogs to run free... I don't care if the dog is trained, the signs are well posted and as such responsible dog parents should obey them... if they want to allow their dogs to roam free, they should take them around the corner to the "off leash" park on the St. Margaret's Bay Rd.
Great place to walk and hike.
Hiking, kayaking and right here in Halifax, have a picnic on one of the small islands in the lake.
Beautiful and massive park. There's a lot of different parts. The trail entrance off dunbrack is great for a hike. The entrance off the bay road is great for swimming. Lots of dogs. The water is great. My favourite lake for swimming in HRM.
One of my favorite places to go on a nature walk.
Love the lake and awesome place for kayaking
Swimming, paddle boards, everything you would expect at a lake. Also accessible at night time great place for a fire in the evening.
Wonderful lake with kayak rentals available! My wife and I snagged a two man kayak and it was awesome. Lake can get windy at times so watch out for that but not too cold and tons of fun. Picnic tables are available around.
Beautiful park. Sunsets are gorgeous here on the water!
Great hidden gem in the middle of the city. There are multiple access points. Great for a quick walk or bring a bathing suit and locate one of the many trails down to the lake for the perfect way to spend a summers day.
Love this park. Nice park with people but never too crowded. A good mix of nature in the middle of the city.
I just love it, every time I go there I find something new!!!
My favourite place in the city to go walk my dog. Walking trails that wrap all around Long Lake. Great place to swim. Gets fairly busy in the summer
Beautiful place for a walk. Beaches are hidden but it’s part of the fun it gave us.
Beautiful warm water. Only drawback is the minimal parking. The parking is decent from the Spryfield entrance (it's the one that has the rental Kayaks) but it's borderline dangerous to park on the two lane highway and enter from the bottom tip. A fantastic little jewel nestled in the heart of Halifax
Nice wide walkway with several entry points off the main roads. Easy enough for moms to take young ones out in their strollers. We did not do all the paths but spent over an hour exploring. Will come back again to explore the rest.
Love this gem. The trails are perfect for walking or running and people always seem to be quite friendly. sunrise and sunset are always quite beautiful there.
Great spot to walk or swim, beautifully maintained trails, and a fairly nice outhouse. Unfortunately the outhouse isn't well designed, and there's only one which is less than ideal in such a big park. Definitely would recommend it though!
This is a great place if you want to go hiking, biking, or even geocaching! The trails are beautiful, quite well-groomed and marked, and connect to Long Lake. Some Trails can get confusing, but eventually, you'll find your way out. There's always lots of people there that park on the side of the road, but there is a parking lot just down Northwest Arm Dr.
GET OUT THERE IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PARK
Good walking trails, nice views across the lake
No services, but always a nice walk along the lake, or swim, or paddle.
Wonderful trail with a great mix of different terrains. Very enjoyable for walking or running.
A great trail with lots of exploring and also very clean and taken care of! My pup really enjoyed it and so did I
Awesome walking trails with beautiful views. Could do with out the date devil bike riders though. Breaks the peacefulness but overall a great walk with well groomed trails
Beautiful park with some excellent lake views, small sandy beach, well maintained gravel path on one side and a broad paved path on the other. Very dog-friendly, lots of other dog owners around.
Nicely set up trails. Good for on leash dog walking as well.
Excellent walking/hiking park also swimming and canoeing.
Nicely groomed trails, and very clean. This park is well maintained. Easy walking for the whole family, including your pet. Nice lake views, and easy access for Canoe or Kayake. No motor boats allowed.
Perfect place to withdraw from city life. Well preserved woods and a beautiful lake.
Good Natural Surroundings
Lovely walking trail with ample parking areas. Nice scenic views over Long Lake. Paddle boards, kayaks and paddle boards available for rent. An old dam accessible for exploring. Walk the whole trail, about 5 km., or part of trail. The trail offers lots of shade and bugs are at a minimum.
Delightful assemblage of habitats, from hardwood stands, windswept barrens, a wide variety of wetlands, and wonderful scenery. Home to quite a lot of wildlife - have met coyotes, foxes, deer, many interesting birds, lots of squirrels and chipmunks, beavers by the galore (pesky critters, lol: they have flooded some of the best trails in the park!!) and have even seen lynx tracks there. For everyone from the Weekend Stroll in the Park crowd, the hardiest of Backwoods Adventurers (most of the park is pure wilderness with very few trails). Highly recommended: THANKS Premier Buchanan!!
It's beautiful and peaceful. Don't be afraid to take some of side trails through the woods you never know what beauty you will see or what wildlife.
Great for hiking
Nice walking gravel trail on long lake not very long
5200 acres near the city. Such a great resource for the City.
Such a beautiful park! Definitely a must go for us! So peaceful and beautiful.
Wide smooth gravel trail good parking. One outhouse near parking lot
Awesome hike and yet so close to downtown!
Long Lake is massive, trails all around the water that I believe encircle the whole lake. The shore is rocky but some places have a surface closer to sand but with bigger grains. It's a great place to go hiking or for a swim. You can walk 5 minutes from the small parking lot to get to a sheltered, shallow cove or follow the trails by the shore and find your own outcropping of rocks to set up on. It does get busy on the hotter days so the parking lot (which holds maybe 14 vehicles) will be full. A lot of people park along the road to walk into the park.
Awesome park for swimming, supping, kayaking, anything really :)
Amazing spot to chill out with friends.
Beautiful park with lots of very accessible walking trails. Spectacular in the fall.
Beautiful place. Very nice place to walk. The lake water is warm and clean. Love it here.
Great local wilderness resource.
Best place to relax, walk, swim or kyack
Great place to go for a walk and take in a little nature without going too far
Nice time having breakfast picnic and getting frustrated trying to find geocache as we were eaten alive by mosquitoes...
Not horrible after the new construction. But it is quite a short trail, adequate views but quite a lot of garbage and some doggie bags around as well. For spending so much money on the project (as of my experience) it wasnt worth it.
Cleaned the place up nicely, good place for a weekly walk of the dog, or hike.
Great walking trail.
Great place for a walk, bike, or swim. This place is a Halifax summer staple. So nice to have this kind of nature so close to the city. It is very popular for dog walking and folks are pretty lax with the mandatory leash rule in provincial parks. Highly recommend this spot for an adventure any day.
Water was so refreshing. I nice nature sanctuary barely outside of the city. Absolutely loved it.
Beautiful nice clean main trail. Lots of narrower paths to the lakes and well worth the trek down to the water. Beautiful views from the rocks. Lots of ducks...even saw a beaver!!
I would give it 5 stars because of facilities, lifeguards, view, accessibility, but I'm leaving it to 4 because the beach is very small, crowded, and the sand is pebbles, not that they can do much about any of these, but I'm a stickler for consistency.
Not bad place to go for a swim i found out because i went there to fish and everyone was arriving jumping in the water where i was trying to fish and didn't get any bites
Simple crusher dust paths through some lovely woods. Perfect for walking dogs. It is hilly.
I love this place. You should do there if you have a dog :) Be prepared to walk around 30 minutes until the lake.
Such a treasure to find a beautiful off leash dog friendly area to explore woods and lake all year round. Halifax needs lots of dog friendly places and I really appreciate the work that goes into making this a well organized and stunning place to hike.
We'll maintained short trails and beautiful scenery by the lake.
I love this park. We visited on weekday and wasn't crowded... clean and fresh air with breathtaking view of the lake... People enjoying the park while fishing, kayak, hiking...great place to be
Accessible trails, but also some places to go onto deer paths.
At glowhalifax,was great.
I live by here and it's amazing
Nice place to walk the labrador
Long lake is beautiful, serene. There’s something about the moss on the trees that makes me feel at home.
Cool place, completely different from the north shore
I had an awesome time me and my brother went bike riding and it was fast smooth and alot of hills to keep you going and to help challenge you, it was the perfect work out
Beautiful area. Great for swimming, kayaking, or just chilling on the shore with a book!
Great Clean lakes, lots of areas to swim
Bit more challenging for trail running because of roots and rocks but great for walking and taking your dog!!
Nice walking trails
A beautiful park and very few people. This is probably because most of the trails are in poor condition. Don't bother going unless you are wearing sturdy shoes. If you park in the lot off St Margaret's Bay road, follow the creek to the lake. Keep the lake on your left for about a kilometre until you come to another small river. Follow that upstream to a pretty little waterfall. Google says the trail continues past that, but I couldn't find a way. The trail petered out on numerous attempts. I ended up just following the shoreline back.
Found two ticks on me after my 40 minute venture through here!
Beautiful lake
The 15 km hike around the whole lake is a real treat for hardcore outdoor enthusiasts. Takes 3-4 hours (if you know where you're going) and is about 2/3 forested footpaths, 1/3 rock hopping on the shore. The thick woods on the undeveloped southwest shore necessitate hiking on the boulders and rocky slabs along the water. Not for the faint of heart. Wear waterproof boots and watch out for snakes.
It is beautiful place to spend quick time in the nature near the city
Beautiful Park with Freshwater Lake and Awesome Views.
Lovely long lake with loads of little swimming niches and beaches
Long Lake park is a beautiful park. It's my preferred walking spot. It's quiet and tranquil, and incredibly peaceful.
A tame yet beautiful lake and forest. Full of easy trails for the whole family. Signage could be better thoughout the park and further parking is required at entry points.
Great , ungroomed trail
Beautiful place especially in fall!
Nice place to stop and stretch your legs, good for a quick little walk. You can go out in a kayak if you want, probably makes for a nice time.
Nice trail to walk on. It's a far distance if you choose to go around the lake.
Wide, well-groomed all purpose trails. Perfect for running, walking, biking.
Very nice, well maintained trails with proper maps and access to lakes
Trails popular with dog walkers
Great trail to take the family, and enjoy a sunset.
Love the new improvements they done to this. The walking trail is nicely groomed and the scenery is nice...there is even a place to go swimming. Love this place will continue to go back.
Usually a very cramped parking area, but today being a little overcast, we were the third ones there and my kids had a blast in their kayaks.
Great park for walking and swimming. No life guards.watch your personal belongings. Lots of stealing going on as well as smashing of car windows!
Great park but dogs technically aren't allowed off-leash
Very nice place near town
There are trails of varying levels of difficulty. Conditions are great now. You can also walk along the shoreline, spread out to swim or just throw something for the dog to fetch in the water. It isn't an off leash trail though people do let their dogs off and have good control of them. This place is a gem and only minutes from home.
Finely groomed trails, bike and stroller friendly as well as accessible if you enter off Dunbrack.
Amazing spot for a paddle or walk along the lake . Check out the rental shop for paddle boards or kayaks at great prices!
Hidden gem in the city
Gorgeous view with plenty of places for privacy
Beautiful trails and scenery. Lots of dogs and bikes on the trails too.
Beautiful trails. Small Water fall. Nice place to swim just bring water shoes.
nice place to go for a run! i love going the mornings
An excellent place to go cool off on a hot summer day. Bored and need something to do? Jump into the lake at Laurie park! (Would not recommend doing so in the fall/winter/spring, trust me)
Pretty
Great spot for a dog walk
Great place for a walk with you and your family
Beautiful place for a swim or to enjoy the water.
Nice accessible hiking trails and lots of off shoot rugged trails
Nice area. Although, the stones used for the pathways are large and sharp. Some dogs do not enjoy walking on these paths as it hurts their paws. I personally do not like these stones either, poor choice.
Great walking trail, well upkept with lots of access to beaches.
We like large camp sites with some privacy this offered neither for a park close to Halifax check out dollars lake provincial park
This is a gem in Halifax. Although it's a little inaccessible without a car (bus ride from the South end is roughly 45 minutes) it's a place that everyone should check out. It's a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, while still only being 10 minutes away from it. The parking lot on the top side of the lake fills up very quickly, so get there early if you want to park in that lot.
Went to glow gardens it was awesome.
Great walk around a lovely lake. Terrain is easy, but varied. Frequent benches for breaks if necessary.
A lovely place to walk and go for a swim!
Great park ..takes about 4 hrs to walk give or take...tried some fishing but no bites...water was warm almost enough to swim...
Great park very close to Halifax. Nice hiking and walking trails and some interesting old infrastructure. One easy trail can be accessed from the parking lot, other trails run through the woods and over uneven, rocky, root covered ground.
Perfect spot. Can sometimes be busy
Wonderful scenery. Great for dog walking and swimming during the summer
A nice way to spend a warm Saturday afternoon!
Wish their was a washroom threw the trail instead of just at the beginning
Beautiful beach with warmer than usual salt water
Loved our stay at Long Lake. Amazing scenery, peaceful, great easy hikes!
Nice clean walk ,better in spring when warmer and prettier.
A nice spot to come and get cooled down in the water
never been there, maps just thinks i was due to my route to or from work
This a great walking or biking trail. Sheltered from direct sun with leaves in the warmer weather.
Nice place only so much parking but I walk there. Overall very good
Beautiful walk. Get there early before the crowds for a relaxing hike.
Nice afternoon hike.
First time walking the finished trail, joined in a 5 k fun run/walk. Lots of parking, good trail, a few hills along the way but a good walk through pretty terrain- trees, water, and very peaceful and clean.
Too many low lifes with pitbulls. Not a very peaceful place. In the middle of a slum area unfortunately. Feels like you're in Dartmouth, but worse
Beautiful lake. Tons of paths. Awesome place to roast some marshmallows. Please burn safely and pick up your litter.
It has great trails through the woods in a peaceful setting, however over the past year or so it has gotten really busy with the addition of the trail along the northwest arm drive that is basically a 10ft wide gravel road. There are still trails throughout that are more natural though.
Very comfortable trail for walking or running
Beautifully maintained paths and great lake views.
Never walk the same trail twice. My puppy loves it.????
Great walking trails. There are some parking areas and washroom facilities. Good walking, biking, and fall walking trail.
A very good trail for beginner walkers or if you want to experience a walk with an amazing view. Long lake provincial park has well crafted and we'll kept seating scattered throughout the parks path with many benches. As well as many easy to access areas that lead straight to the waters edge, you can truly enjoy yourself here.
One of our familys favourite spots. Absolutely beautiful!
Great place for a walk or swim in the summer
Great paths to walk.
Great place to go for a dip!
So relaxing in...hot summer
A true forest, not just a park. The further you walk back the more beautiful it gets.
Beautiful place tucked away right on the edge of the city. Very clean with great water for swimming it boating in
I love this beautiful lake and the trails
It's just a nice park. Great place to walk.
Really nice trails I think it's 5 km. Dogs on leash which is awesome
Good place to enjoy nature on a wonderful walk.
Nice place to take a dog for a walk
Beautiful lake, love weekend visits.
Nice wide, well maintained trails
Beautiful trail! Dog friendly and very easy to walk.
Outstanding natural beauty love this country
Nice smooth path that loops around a lake.
Great trails for dog walking
Beautiful sunsets over the lake.
Nicely maintained, wide crusher dust pathway. Ample parking and conveniently located in town. Great flat trail to walk your dog or young kids.
Needs the dam replaced, but I don't agreed with a house built so close, shouldnt be allowed
Great walking trail along the lake and amazing sunset views
It was an alright place lots of bugs but what place doesn't.
Nice walk for the dog and not out of town. Quite a few people swimming and sunbathing along the shore
This is a very nice park, with great trails. But it has an issue with thieves. DO NOT leave purses, cell phone or any valuable in sight in your car. It will disappear for sure. Don't wait until to get to the park to put in your trunk because that is to late. Folks will watch as you put your stuff in your trunk and it will be gone. Folks are starting to call this parking lot Spryfields newest ATM. It is for sure if you leave valuables someone will withdraw them
A must spot to visit, another random gem I stumbled on.
Nice place to go for a walk nice place to walk your dog but it has to be on me I wish there was part of the area where the dogs could run off-leash
Beautiful scenery and really good Geocache for catchers
Paddle board and kayak rentals right on the lake made for a fun afternoon!!
Good location, lots of parking spot.
Blessed to have this within our city.
Nice place to go for a walk an get exercise. A 2 for 1 deal 100%
Only been there once but it was lovely. Lis of folks walk dogs there
Beautiful walking trail
Lovely scenery and good walking trails. Good boat launch too!
Great trail system surrounding a lake. Great for strollers, dogs and hikers.
Beautiful lake and a nice trail.. It's hard to find your way out if you don't have a map though.
Nice park, closer to the city.
Great place to walk with or without a dog. This is an on leash site and lots of places to explore
A place that is beautiful to walk your dogs and relax plus alot of great memories
Great wilderness walk in the city
Beautifully manicured trails!
Well maintained trail
Beautiful sunset, calm water. Great place to visit when it's not too busy.
So many beautiful areas to see and walk
The vault toilet in the parking was accessible (yay!) but very dirty (I actually almost vomited) and had no bathroom tissue available. At least there was sanitizer. I didn't use it but I wanted to bathe in alcohol after stepping inside. Luckily, there was a royal flush toilet at the other entrance which was in much better condition. Other than that experience, it was really lovely! Good size parking lot, though it was packed full. Lots of bike racks and garbage cans. The maps weren't especially helpful, though. It shows the trails but I couldn't determine distances. I would go back but I need more information about the lengths of the trails before attempting them.
Clean water to swim in. Great trails to walk on.
Really nice wide trails. Good for walking or biking. Nice views.
Absolutely beautiful ... Peaceful ...well kept up ... Close to everything.
Had an amazing experience there.... looking forward to go there again also the people were so nice there who were providing the rentals ...they guys were amazing. Scenic experience was so nice it feels like to go in middle of there and just sit and relax.... highly recommend this place ????
Bring good shoes, long walk lovely, lots of dogs,
Great trails. Mostly flat, wide and crusher dust so good for strollers or walkers. Parking is good. There is a washroom but it looks pretty primitive. Lots of benches along the way. Mostly in the woods but a few good vistas of the lake.
Nice lake to hike and swim at. Lots of access points to the water. Easy hike terrain.
Amazing retreat not far from Halifax, always lots of dog walkers, swimmers. Amazing place for photography.
I love this park. The lake is beautiful and the park is clean
Nice, quiet place to rent a kayak. We rented for 2 hours on a Sunday and got to explore goat island.
Nice lake with trail. It also has kayak available on rent
Beautiful place to walk yourself or your dog.
Great trails.
Love the walks, so peaceful
Another place that has awesome nature trails
Really enjoying the trails!
Great trails and swimming. Paddle board and kayak rentals are available too
Very fun you can go swimming there or riding on a bike or there is a place there where you could rent a paddleboard and a kayak for a serteine time. I like riding on my bike there very calming and the nature is beautiful
Enjoyed an hour of stand-up paddle boarding and a picnic lunch by the lake. Beautiful, peaceful spot very close to the city. Staff at the equipment rental were friendly and helpful. Not busy despite a sunny Saturday morning. Paddling into the wind was a challenge!
Beautiful park, great for every one.
Beautiful place to walk! There's a loop around the lake and a good amount of parking but it can be a very busy spot at times
A real nice place to walk with or without you pet . I have walked it for years way before there was trial's. Get get away from the day to day .
Nice clean beach with life guards on watch.
Beautiful trail with a 40 minute loop around the lake if you go right from the main parking lot. You can also rent kayaks if you head left from the parking lot instead.
Beautiful walking trail with lots of scenery. Parking is easily accessible and plentiful, with a path to the trail at both ends of the parking lot. Routinely take my dog walking here.
Awesome lack. Rocks to jump off and water is very warm mid summer
Super well groomed path.
Super fun trails to explore!
Well maintained paths that were perfect for a walk. Just the right length for an easy stroll.
Beautiful view and nice walking trails
What a lovely walking trail, well maintained
Nice swimming ..sun bathing place
Great paths everywhere and dog friendly
Very beautiful. A must visit.
It's a great spot to walk with your dog. On-leash trail.
So much wildlife if you've got an eye for it!
Nice little day park
Great place for a hike, close to the city and very quiet.
Beautiful trails to walk along. Trash cans throughout to avoid littering. Long Lake itself is a beautiful place to swim and I would recommend it to everyone.
Walking trails are nicely groomed. Great place to ride a bike as well as trails are all relatively flat with some minor hills
Nicely maintained wide gravel pathways, mostly very quiet, occasionally you can hear the highway nearby. Nice views of the lake.
A wonderful trail, approximately 5km in length, around long lake. There are addequit bins to dispose of dog waste. This trail is great to take children on, but not suitable for small children on small bikes, because of the gravel trail with some steep inclines.
A place out door enthusiasts and a leisurely MB stroll...
Beautiful park setting for walking. Also great for kayakers.
Beautiful park with nice trails. Many different areas to swim without being crowded out, and the lake is typically quite warm. Visit the trails off Dunbrack/Northwest Arm for wide, groomed trails, packed flat. Perfect for strollers or those who have difficulty walking broken ground. Lots of benches and garbage cans along these trails. Visit the trails off St Margaret's Bay Road for a more "hike"y vibe, while still following easily marked trails or the lake shore. Garbage cans at the exit. And if you're really feeling nature-y, you can try the trails and old roads off Old Sambro Road. There's a bit of something for everyone. Dog friendly on-leash, per the provincial park bylaws.
Great trails and easily accessible by bus and always a good swim Note: finding a good place to get into the water is a challenge but if you're up for a hike it's a good time
I go here with Bowie, my roommates dog, I go here by myself for walks, I've even been fishing here and yes I caught 8 fish in under 3 hours. I can even bring a couple beers and some joints, find a secluded spot and drink beer, smoke joints, and fish. Nobody bugs you!
Noone follows the new mandatory masking outdoors when 6 feet distancing is not possible...people think they are immune to this thing
Beautiful walk,nice trail
Beautiful spot to stop for a rest
Awesome lake bin going there for years
Its a beautiful spot, so relaxing
no access for kayaks.for a provincial Park, the parking is horrible. There's aboat 14 parking spaces, seven of which is taken up by a commercial kayak company who seems to control the whole thing.
We are so luck to have this great place to swim in or walk around. I have gone canoeing as well. It is a very pleasant place to while away a day. In the summer I have gone swimming and in winter taken the trails on snowshoe when the weather is right. There is the odd bit of litter for some individuals. It is always a shame to see.
Parking lots are now closed for the winter ????
Walking trail. Nice little rocky area for swimming.
Me and my son had a great day swimming at long lake ♡
It was a beautiful very beautiful place.
A wonderful place to walk. A little bit of the country in city limits.
Nice network of trails for novice hikers and those without the time to escape the city. Beautiful, swimmable lakes. Something for everyone
It's a great little trail with a bit of history right but the city. What's not to love?
Nice view the trail is deceiving its a long walk before you see the lake
I have been a few times since the fall but not in the warmer months. I'm hoping the Summer will bring more lush surroundings. It feels a bit barren and like a path was just pushed through. The grades are nice and make for a more challenging walk. Would like to see some more trash bins along the path and distance markers to better identify location. Bike racks and memorial/sponsored benches are a nice touch.
Awesome park, nicely manicured section with a well maintained "off the beaten" path through out. A nice beach as well. Pet friendly just on the outskirts of Spryfield.
A calm lake with a low impact hike around the water.
Great trails year round.
Was nicer before they added massive trails. Extremely accessible, long wide trail system for folks with strollers, bikes, and for the elderly. Good place to bring your kids. Try to venture off the main trails - Beautiful.
Love this place! I'm a photographer and have done some beautiful sessions here!
Just out for a stroll, need to exercise. Walk a while, it may add years to your life.
Beautiful walk...... amazingly kept ????
Beautiful lake and trails.
Nice place to go for a walk, a little harder on the mountain bike.
This is a big beautiful lake right in the middle of the city.
Nice place to go for the day to hike bike or swim.
I absolutely loved the trails and next time I'm jumping in the water!!
Long Lake is a natural oasis within city limits. Hiking is best off the more well-worn trails. Summer swimming in the lake is refreshing and surprisingly few people take advantage of it. Unfortunately, the lake bottom is very rocky, so wear sturdy water shoes.
Love this place. Great for swimming. View is amazing.
There are to many dogs that are off leash and runs and barks at people makes me very nervous to go on the trail now so I don't go there anymore. Dogs are supposed to on on leash and people that walk there dogs there off leash think its ok and funny when there dogs run and chase people and make them scared to go for a walk there
Smaller park with swimming and walking trails. Parking areas need to be enlarged.
I enjoy walking through this area. Well kept beauty
Groomed wide walking trails. Good 5km walk in a beautiful setting around the lake. My puppies love it.
Great lake for swimming, easy to get to, a little rocky but what do you expect haha
Easy paths to follow, a few "off the trail" areas to wander in. Great body of water for a swim
Great location for hikes, quick swim in the lake and even non motorized water vehicles. We took our kayak down the lake and spent a beautiful afternoon.
Beautiful walking paths
Great lake for swimming. There are now buoys in the lake though they are quite spread out for the novice swimmer. There is an extensive trail system that can be biked or run which can be accessed from many different places (Old Sambro Road, Northwest Arm Drive, #3 Hwy (i.e. extension of St. Margaret's Bay Rd.). There are now newer trails that are more groomed and accessible (crusher dust, smooth and rolling terrain) which can be accessed from parking lots on NW Arm Drive, Old Sambro Rd.). This part of the trail system is "more groomed" than the trails from the #3 Hwy parking lot.
Negan and I love visiting here. We typically do the groomed withrod lake loop. It's an easy 5km path that is great for walking, running and biking. Negan and I enjoy it for all the parkour tricks we get to work on. We have spent the last couple of visits exploring a couple of the other trails and loving all the spots to stop and enjoy the lake. It can get muddy in spots with rain and can be a little over grown in others. Make sure to tick check when you are done your walk.
Very good
Not a bad park but parking is limited especially during weekends and on nice days
Expansive park just outside of the peninsula. Very easy to access by car. Possible to take transit. Lots of trails and forest to hike or walk through. Multiple Entrance points along lSt. Margaret’s bay road (from the rotary) and via Spyfield. Most areas allow dogs off leash. Mix of groomed and ungroomed paths and trails. Can be quite wet in the spring.
Lovely easy hike. A few short hills but nothing taxing. The trail is well maintained with great views of the lake and surrounding woods.
What a great view at the sunset
Nice walkways. Lots of parking. Nature walk
Great place to go for a hike and a picnic by the water.
Very peaceful. And relaxing
Good evening, lm from New Brunswick currently staying at IWK My Grandson went through open heart surgery (15 months old) His mother & l visited Long Lake provincial park today and walked the trail's with the family dog Dakota . It was so relaxing being in nature and near the water. Such a wounderful view and very cleaned trails . Thanks for the chance to breathe and relax we enjoyed our visit without a doubt ???? Dakota also enjoyed her swim . We're looking forward to returning with the entire family in the coming days ahead.
Love walking trails.
Great trails and lots of nature.
