A nice place to walk around. It had plenty of trees decorated for Christmas along the trails.

Max Froil

Been there in the winter where you can walk and/or skate on the lake. Its a pretty chill place to just relax, have a breath of fresh air and enjoy the silence. If you want to take pictures, go by a couple hours before sunset, youll get the best lighting condition at that time. As for the frogs, well dont expect to see any in the winter since they are beneath the ice most likely.

Claims of the presence of frogs seem to be greatly exaggerated. Beautiful little walking trail, but should probably be renamed Squirrel or Duck park.

This park is the perfect length to walk around with a young child. I highly recommend taking your child there and they will probably enjoy it. There are lots of ducks (ducklings in the spring), squirrels, and other animals to be seen. It's great because you don't have to go far out of the city to go on a nice walk through the woods. Also a great park for dogs.

Beautiful trail around the water. Loops around, not too long for little ones.

Ariel Henley

Love this trail! It's perfect place to bring your dog or kids. There's provided dog poop bags at both entrances. It's also a great trail for running. It's also perfect to relax and look at scenery and/or sit near the ducks in the pond.

Well maintained trails. Popular spot. When the weather is cold enough and the ice is thick enough, the pond is perfect for skating. Near by you can take your children to several playground areas if you need a different outdoor activity and in the summer you can always enjoy a great show at the the Frog Pond Theatre.

A lovely trail. Half an hour would give a refreshing walk. Ducks. Squirrels. Boardwalks and rocky trails. Great for careful walkers. Oct walk is very colorful with the changing leaves on many trees throughout the walk. Frequent benches along the way. Plenty of parking. Popular spot. There is a pond lookoff that is wheelchair accessible.

One of my favourite short walks with my Dog and Kids! The trail isn't maintained in the winter so keep that in mind as it can get icy. It is a Beautiful walk through the woods with a necessary stop by the lake to see the Ducks. Many people take notice of the Single Beautiful Wood Duck among all the other Mallards. There is a couple paths off the Duck Pond trail leading towards the Dingle also. Take note it is not an entire circle and if you don't walk the path back you must walk alongside a stretch of herring cove road to return to the parking lot. Many choose to simply turn around and take the same path back.

Sometimes busy, but a delightful little loop hike. Peaceful, and easy enough for a beginning trail runner. Typically come across 5-15 other folks while I'm on the trail, many with dogs, so lots of furry friends to be made. Don't feed the ducks!

Rob G

So beautiful. It's a good 15-20 minutes around the lake. We love to go for a nice, wooded walk a few times per summer. Bring some nutritious bird food and feed the ducks! They love it. Unless you're not supposed to, but I've never seen any signs. Oddly, I have yet to see a frog. Plenty of ducks. Squirrels even. But no frogs. I'm gonna have to go back and keep looking...

This is definitely one of my favorite places in Halifax! Im a hiking lovers and this spot is always perfect for me! Frog pond park is a perfect size for hikers, not too big not too small. If you just wanna a lazy hike on the weekend, this place is a hit! Only one thing that a little bit annoying me was not a lot of buses. Only one bus an hour... otherwise I’ll go there like everyday!

Frog Pond Park is located in Jollimore community and is part of Sir Sandford Fleming Park. Frog Pond Lake trails are well maintained by the municipality. Frog Pond Lake is bigger than how much it looks from the entrance off the Purcells Cove Rd. The park and the trails go all the way to the east to the Dingle Rd. There are mesmerizing stairs at one of the two entrances off the Dingle Rd. Though its name is Frog Pond Lake unfortunately never witnessed any frogs around. However it’s a resort and home to few spices of ducks. In the summer you can find territorial fights and ducklings swimming following mama duck. In summer evenings mosquitoes rule so don’t forget bringing some repellent cream or spray. In winter front section of the lake freezes solid foremost than the rest of the lake and other lakes around making it ideal for ice skating. Also, the front section is not that deep so it’s not as risky to take the chance, however, making sure the thickness of the ice is always recommended. In my opinion its the only lake with trails and forest like ambiance closest to the Halifax.

This compact semi-wilderness park within 5 minutes' drive of peninsular Halifax, is a TRUE gem!! It is bisected by Purcell's Cove Rd, although most folks are unaware of this: they only visit the side with the parking lot and wheelchair accessible but not overly-wide trail. The part on the other side of the road is much wilder, with a lovely little pond and wetland but no formal trails. The main trail sticks close to the shoreline of the Frog Pond proper, and goes through some positively DELIGHTFUL territory, including swamp where it becomes a boardwalk. Great for cycling, doggie walking, short family outings, or just simply to relax for a while in a wild but very safe setting. 10 thumbs up!!

I can't believe I've never been to the frog pond before. All my life I've known it was there, however I never knew there was a walking trail around it. I didn't get the chance to walk all of the frog pond because I wore dress shoes and not runners. I will definitely be going back. It's so beautiful and peaceful. God's handiwork at its finest ????.

Nice little loop around the pond. It's relatively flat so suitable for all ages. There are also paths that lead to Dingo Park and a few trails that go into the woods, so a walk can lead into a fun little adventure. Plenty of parking too, so it's a great way to spend an afternoon if you live in the city and want to get out of the house.

Very picturesque little park, lovely easy walk around the eponymous Frog Pond. Crusher dust paths. Side routes connect to the nearby Dingle (Fleming Park). Can manage the main paths with a baby stroller, the side paths might be tricky. Free parking, always open spaces. Sightings of turtles in the marsh area under the boardwalks not uncommon. Abundant ducks, squirrels and birds. Great for kids.
