Nice little park on right under McKay bridge. Beautiful views, parking not too big and park itself quite small, but has a playground.

Ty - Son Flint

This is where I'm from my ancestors my name is on the plaque the first black settlers

Bas Dawod

Beautiful and quiet place as not too many people go there. If only the playground was bigger more.

Caleb Babin

Hands down one of the best places to catch a sunset in Halifax, minus as Bubbles would say: ''greeeasy '' stuff going on in the parking lot.

Matthew Keogh

Beautiful park on the water with some interesting historical significance for Halifax.

Beautiful view of the Bedford Basin, interpretation of the historic black community here, good for a picnic or walk with or without the dog.

This is a must visit destination whether your a visitor or not. Anyone coming to the site should drop in to the replication of the church build on site and talk to the knowledgeable staff and learn more about the Africville story. A story woven in the Nova Scotia fabric and told around the world. A MUST stopping place and well on it's way to becoming a 5!

It's a lovely spot with some memorials to the community that was displaced in the 1960's. Areas can be booked for special events through the city (HRM). We attended an outdoor, socially distanced wedding with some attendees having lived there when it was a community. There was a birthday party taking place nearby as well.

Beautiful park under the bridge

Beautiful park located under the Mackay Bridge. There is a boat launch there, picnic benches, walking paths, and children's playground. Un-fortunately, there are no washrooms . This park is also located beside the Africville Museum.

I spent all the day there it is very nice

Beautiful little corner of nature, and has a boat launching slip next to the parking lot (I assume it is public). Just remeber that it is located between the dump and several container piers at the end of North Marginal Rd, so manage your attendance accordingly.

(Translated) Place to spend the night with your RV! Nice look on the bridge. A little noisy and very frequented at night by an unorthodox clientele! (Original) Place pour passer la nuit avec son RV! Joli coup d'œil sur le pont. Un peu bruyant et très fréquenté de nuit par une clientèle peu orthodoxe!

My only wish would be that there were more markers for the former buildings from Africville on the grounds and that the grounds had better upkeep. This is a very important location in Canada's history and I couldn't help but feel that it's not treated that way by the various levels of government.

Luz Williams

A nice small park in North End Halifax. It is a bit difficult to get to but it is worth the effort. The park provides lovely views of the Bedford Basin, and the Africville Church museum on site provides an excellent history of the community that once occupied this area.

Love this park. Lovely views. Has a public boat launch. A little monument is there too from the Halifax explosion. Great for puppies. I think it’s an on leash park, but many people use it off leash with pets under care and control. There are lights in the parking lot, but no lights throughout the park. A great and safe place during the day time, but gets quite dark around 5:30 during the late fall/ winter. Didn’t have a chance to check out the little museum.

We recently started visiting this park and really enjoy the quiet space, the comfortable benches and picnic areas provide a great view of the basin, and now there's a new children's playground. It's not well lit, so we tend to only visit during daylight hours.
