Great beach within the city. There is a nice path to walk around the lake and a park for kids to play. In the summer, they sell hot dogs, soft drinks and ice cream. Be careful though and do not walk alone on the path. There are people with mental health issues every where, including in Gatineau. Some people have ran into difficult situations near Leamy Lake in recent years.

Check the website in summer if you want to swim in case of blue algae, though I was impressed the day we went, the lifeguards walked up and down the beach to warn people not to swim due to algae. It's a perfect place to relax and ride around. The long stretch around this lake is perfect for biking or electric longboarding. I did have a fairly nasty fall do to not paying attention to a gravel spot in the middle of a forked path, but the lifeguards at the area were very quick to patch me up. Upon arriving at the beach, there is a beautiful open field with plenty of benches to sit. overall, a beautiful place.

A wonderful place to swim! Really lovely accessible beach that caters to all kinds of beach goers. Amazing that it is so centrally located too. Generally, the police and NCC have been keeping motorized craft out of the lake but sometimes they slip through and you need to swim with a dry bag/something visible if you go beyond the roped in area.

It is a four season park. In the summer there's watercrafts and BBQ to enjoy here. Hiking or jogging is always fun. In the winter, cross-country ski, snowshoeing. Expecting to see many wild lifes such as birds, Canada goose, turkey, gopher and more frequently, a large family of deers (over a dozen) in this winter. Its parking lot occasionally got flooded, making it look like a giant swimming pool.

A decent 40-ish minute walk around the lake, parking used to be free but now you have to pay for it and unfortunately it's rather expensive. It's pretty busy in the summer time with the beach attracting crowds. Watch out for the deer in the grassy areas as you're driving in.

There used to be a huge cabin on the water that was a nice restaurant there..not sure if it's still there. I wish they had yoga or some kind of classes offered there to get the community together. I was there for the Triathlon. The event made it a bit more complicated to get to the park, which was frustrating. But once on the site, everything was great. Lots of places to park bicycles. Excellent waste management undertaken by Enviro-Éduc-Action. (Although it's the shame that the canteen sells its food in Styrofoam containers.) There was a giant sign that said swimming in the lake was prohibited, but I couldn't tell if that was because of the lack of life guards or because there's something wrong with the water.

Misleading signage. Parking signage states Free parking (4 hours) and it has a handicap sign under it. As you first see it, you assume it is free parking for the first 4 hours and there is handicap parking; however, the free parking is only for handicap. Be more clear with your signs - I was not the only person who miss read that sign. Plus, parking is a bit too expensive, $2 for every 30 minutes. They should make parking a standard rate of $4 for the day - this would be a reasonable price. The beach is nice; however, there are other lakes in the area that is completely free and has more to offer.
