Beautiful hiking spot. You will be breathing in a nice sea breeze with a mix of the sweet nearby tree aroma. Walk the nice paved surface or ride it on bicycle and end at the small lodge. There is even a fork midway during the walk forming a more wooden and down to earth experience (be careful not to stray to far. protect the flora and fauna) that leads to the lodge, same as the other path. From there, you can stay or simply walk to the sea/bay edge for the full experience. Important* The only sad negative is that the toilets and accomodation at the end of the walk are difficult to access, even for people with no mobility problem. Doors are hard to open, maybe for bear reasons. If I remember correctly, not all door had an handicap help button.

(Translated) Nice trail showing the fragility of spruce lichen trees. The trail is flat and the walk is easy. There is the possibility of spotting foxes. There are also a few stations for different viewpoints. The path comes out at the end of the Penouille where you can come back by the beach or by the wooden bridge. I recommend for a light warm-up or late-day hike! (Original) Beau sentier montrant la fragilité des pessières à lichen. Le sentier est plat et la marche est facile. Il y a la possibilité d’apercevoir des renards. Il y a aussi quelques stations pour différents points de vue. Le sentier débouche au bout de la Penouille où on peut revenir par la plage ou par le pont en bois. Je recommande pour une randonnées légère d’échauffement ou de fin de journée!

My boyfriend, our puppy and I really enjoyed this short trail, right off the Penouille beach. The landscape was similar to hikes we had done, at altitude, at Gros Morne, in Newfoundland! It took us just under 45 minutes to complete and the terrain is quite flat--no elevation. Lots of lichen and beautiful flora! With this, comes lots of bugs, so don't forget your bug spray!

(Translated) I didn't do the Taiga trail. However, we walked the wooden footbridge and the asphalt road to return by the beach. On the beach, the view is magnificent. Closer to the reception, the beach is sandy and it is easier to walk in the water which is shallow. At low tide, sand dunes appear and it is easy to get quite far into the water even without a swimsuit. (Original) Je n’ai pas fait le sentier la Taïga. Par contre, nous avons marché la passerelle de bois et la route asphaltée pour revenir par la plage. Sur la plage, la vue est magnifique. Plus près de l’accueil, la plage est sablonneuse et il est plus facile de marcher dans l’eau qui est peu profonde. À marée basse, des dunes de sable apparaissent et il est facile de se rendre assez loin dans l’eau même sans maillot.
