You may have noticed that it has an average rating is virtually the best one, and it is based on a very large number of opinions, so we may be pretty sure that the valuation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write reviews when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Park is included in the category of State park.
Still kinda good
A great place to visit. Our children have enjoyed the beach for years. The water is not to deep and there is plenty of shade to sit in.
Excellent state park for camping. Super cheap and large RVs can easily fit in several sites - trees are well cut back. No hookups on most sites but the view is well worth it. Great playground and beach. Well kept bathrooms and grounds. We dry camp for 2 weeks here every year for the past 8 years.
So much fun!
Clean campground, easy access to the water, nice beach area, right in the heart of Alexandria Bay and Clayton areas.. Dump site is clean and easy to access.. Nice park! Mike Rolling Home RV Rentals
First time camping at Grass Point, and we were not disappointed!!! We found this place to be perfect and enjoyed our 3 night stay here. Amazingly beautiful small state park overlooking the islands on the St Lawrence River…Large campsites, pet friendly, brand new playground, cute beach and swimming area. Not only did we camp here but so did several family and friends that came up for our wedding. We were able to utilize one of the pavilions for a small wedding reception….the most gorgeous sunsets we have ever seen gave way for some amazing wedding photos….Will happily be revisiting!!!
Unbelievably peaceful & scenic; I was fortunate enough to stay the night and experience a tranquil morning of fishing on the lake with a few close friends. It is apparent that an emphasis is placed on the park's overall cleanliness (numerous custodians can be seen darting to a fro attending to various aspects of the park). If you are a fan of outdoors activities then a trip to the Grass Point State Park is a must.
A nice park on the St Lawrence river. Camping is a little cramped, but there's a nice community atmosphere.
What a beautiful, small State park. There is camping, a beach, playground, new beach house.
Our favorite spot to go camp in the islands. Nice little beach spot for the kids. Most of the camp sites are in eye sight of the water /boat docks.
It was a nice place to have a picnic and swim at the beach
Arriving in the off season and looking for trails rather than a campsite means this park offered little. Took an overgrown footpath out to the point, but found views were not to be found.
Wonderfully maintained park. New playgrounds, large and clean washrooms, small swimming area. Plenty of socks, beautiful sunset location. 3 minute drive to a grocery store.
Went for a picnic. Sat near the swim area. The view is fantastic. Great place to read and watch the River.
Great family oriented park. Similar to Keewaydin but with a nice kid friendly beach, large clean sites and a really nice dump station. Love this park!
Nice little park, very nice playground that's relatively new. Nice view of the river too.
Wonderful park/campgrounds. Has a dock and boat ramp. Small shop near the water for small supplies, mostly non-boating stuff. No refueling area attached either. However a great spot for an RV or tent. Great area for families, wonderful night view of the stars and equally good scenery during the day. Decently busy river with plenty to watch. Decent fresh water fishing in the area. Beautiful sunsets and a bridge within view from some of the camping areas that lights up at night. Will happily be revisiting. Electrical sites are optional.
Clean bathrooms and the park was kept up really well
It's nice place not cheap but nice
Camping is cozy, facilities are nice and clean. Not good for just a fishing location.
Large campsites, brand new playground, cute beach and swimming area. A beautiful little state park.
Small, very well maintained. Staff is very nice, friendly and helpful
This was the cleanest bath house I have ever seen. Immaculate. Great job to the staff there!
Great place to camp. The only thing is the best sites are non electric. We're limited how long we can stay.
good place to launch. close parking to launch. nice docks
Very much enjoyed our weekend
Nice.
Nice campsites on the river. Kids loved the playground and beach. Only bad thing was the bees in the field and kids got stung crossing it. But everything else was great.
Some campsites were beautiful but there are a lot of small, packed sites.
Nice clean park. Friendly staff.
Such an amazingly beautiful park overlooking the islands on the St Lawrence River. With two separate sections for electric and non-electric sites anyone will be pleased. Perhaps the only downfall is the spacing of the sites, but this is understandable given the size of the park. The staff is always nice, the facilities are new and clean, with a large playground, beach with lifeguards along a cove with no current.
Small campground with great location for launching your boat onto the 1,000 Islands
Small, but nice park. The water levels were really high, causing the beach to pretty much disappear. However it wasn't very busy and the water was crystal clear, so we all had a good time.
Great location. Nice sites. Why no 5, well there are no trash cans except 2 dumpsters that you pretty much have to drive too. I get you want people to pack it out, but if you want a five... Oh and then there's the showers, clean, check, enough room, check, still no trash cans and those horrible push button showers with no water pressure and lukewarm water. If you want a 5...
Spacious campsites but lack shade. Have boat docks you can rent out.
Great place it's on the river. Has some electric sights, dump station, picnic area and a small beach with a large play ground for the children. They do not have a camp supply store on sight but there is a Mobil gas station / bait shop and a Price Chopper Grocrey store among uncle sam boat tours near by in Alaxandria Bay. Clayton also has much to see as well with good restaurants to visit and Clayton boat tours as well.
Very nice
Fun place to take the family
My family rented the pavilion for a birthday party. Since the water level is receding the children were able to play on the slides etc. Some of the beach originally washed be away but Grass pointe restored some of it. Enough for the teens to escape to. A perfect day. Thanks Grass Point for all you had fixed and made the park very enjoyable.
Very clean, nice people, very safe and a beautiful spot to swim, enjoy boating or just to relax.
What a great state park. Perfect for a family camping trip.
Great day use area! We were at another campground and ended up here each day.
Beach was very clean and lifeguards on duty. Playground was huge and lots of different things to play on
Wonderful state park right on the St Lawrence River.
Unfortunately flooding on the St Lawrence has impacted the Marina, they haven't been able to put the docks in. But, still a great Park!
Great view. I am across the River from GPSP.
Super clean place and the park employees are super nice. The head grounds guy is very nice and professional at his job. Keep up the great work all
Beautiful views of St. Lawrence River, very small sandy beach, great for small children. New bathroom pavilion and playground.
We reserved a site on the water (52), but weeds and cattails blocked our view. Sites away from river front had great view, and would get those next time! Well maintained, and wonderful sites. Might try electric sites next time!
Beautiful state park with great views of the St. Lawrence River.
Beautiful and very clean
excellent place
One of the most amazing places in the area.
Absolutely beautiful views, quiet, clean beach. Clear water and cool playground. Kids had a blast, and so did we.
Beautiful park! We purchase a pass every year!
Beautiful scenery, pet friendly.
Nothing for older kids to do. Small and shallow swimming area. Kids weren't allowed to use their snorkel. It was nice that the parking was right next to the beach. Plenty of tables. Nice grassy area and playground. Clean bathroom.
I liked this park better than other area Parks. The fishing is poor, however.
Loved it! We had a nice picnic lunch then walked down to the water and played on the playground. We were just kids again. Very nice place. Wished I camped it's a perfect place to stay.
a perfect place for walking the beach and trails after camping season. take your trash home as there are no garbage cans. such a pretty place with views of ships in the channel.
Pros: nice playground and swimming area. Cons: not the cleanest. Showers are stahls that cover from above head to ankles. Gets very buggy in bathrooms. Campsites are small. No place for cover if it rains besides bathrooms.
Gorgeous harbor view. With the wind caressing and blowing your face softly. A smell from the ocean makes me felt a sense of freedom. I love it. It was so great. A highly recommended place that cannot be missed in your life. If you like the national scenery and wildlife, it will be an amazing piece of land for you to explore.
Great time on the river Saturday
So cool being in waterfront here and watching all the ships passing through. Our site said not water view, but it was 100%. Maybe cat tails grow taller later.Easy access to everything around. Wasn't to buys. Nice wide open area for kids to play ball and meet people. Great fishing dock. Clean bathrooms and dump station. Wanted to be on Wellesley Island but after checking out the campgrounds there (some of them), was much happier at Grass Point. Definitely check out the boat tours. Well worth it! Tried to rent boat here but it was to late in day. Close at 430. $35 an hour for a 16' Lund with 20HP seemed pretty decent price. Cool place !
So the amenities are really nice - playground is awesome and beach swimming is great. Dock is close by and Marina store has ice cream bars and snacks. Boats weren’t available cause of Covid but prices are good if they were renting. Took away a star because tent sites are small and not secluded from each other in any way. We had site 53. Directly across from the bathrooms makes it super bright at night which isn’t great. Also I’m pretty sure there is a huge raccoon den right at the edge of the water and dude is ballsy cause we hadn’t even finished packing everything up for the night and he was tearing at it. I would say there is no reason to get a water site because you can’t see over all the reeds or fish from your site. We were also slammed with mass clusters of mayfly babies off the water.
Great price. Very nice sites with electric for 28 bucks. Nice water fill area and great area to empty and wash out tank. Park is on the bay and beautiful sunsets
Very peaceful!! Beautiful!! Very clean!!
Great park. Clean right on the water. Easy to access boat launch. Great price.
This is our 3rd or 4th trip here, great campground, bathrooms are close and clean. Showers are clean and nice considering its a camp ground. Water for showers could be a couple degrees warmer but it's not ice and it's clean so how can you really complain. Grounds are clean and nice, staff is friendly. Views are beautiful. Will return again like always! Prefer this park above any!!
Yard needs mowing around parking for pavilion.... mold on shower curtain.... tall grass around rocks...cold water in wife's girls shower room 1 night , guy's were nice and warm......... beach was beautiful, sun sets are beautiful.... docks are clean.... been coming here for the last 20 plus years and will continue to go there.... only this year is a little disappointing
Good campground.swimming fishing.no hiking but a short ride to boat rentals and tours.
Love to relax and watch the ships go by.Beautiful swans, ducks, turtles, chipmunks.
Nice place we will go back
Beautiful view of the river, clean restrooms, friendly staff. Quiet and restful!!!
Great state campground well taken care of and is very clean great staff.
Beautiful place
Camped there for 10yrs, till they started to close Labour Day wked on Sun ,a shame beautiful park ,miss it, should be kept open till Columbus Day.
Just stayed here for a night. It was suppose to be two, but flooding in our area limited one of our nights. But anyways, this was my first camping trip with just my 8 year old and not the bf and I'm impressed. The camp sites are smaller than some I've been at if you're on the inside of the circle with spots behind you, but im not sure if that's because our neighbor parked too far over or not. We came with another family, and her site was on the outer side of the loop with no one behind her and that was perfect. Site 27. The sites arent very private at all, so definitely go for the outer ones on the loops Everything was within perfect walking distance. The bathrooms look a ways on the map, but they arent bad at all. And they were very clean. Especially the shoes. Which I've stayed at some pretty sketchy ones lol. The park looked really nice, but we never got a chance to try it out. The beach was nice, but you're not allowed to wear nose covered goggles. I've also stayed at enough campsites that noise, when it's bedtime or early in the morning, is awful. This place was very quiet. It's also a close drive to Alexandria Bay where we did Boldt Castle
It's one of my favorite state parks I've ever been to!
Beautiful views of the river. Well maintained.
