Bring my dog here for the off leash benefits! She loves being able to explore the park! The park is decently clean and you rarely see garbage. The view from the top is a wonderful view from the opposite side of the city with a great view of Mount Baker on good days.

Used to be my favourite park before dog owners started letting their animals run hog willd through a protected ecosystem with fragile meadows and wildflowers that are endemic to our island. The dog park was only ever intended to be the southern mowed green field in the park and shame on everyone who allows their off leash dogs to chase the deer and rabbits out of this sensitive area.

I found this park on one of my long walks through Esquimalt. I had no idea that such a wonderful park existed. Some of the trails I walked on we're a bit unkept but for the most part it was well looked after. Most of the park was an off leash dog park and if I had a dog I would definitely go here. I felt as though I wasn't in Esquimalt anymore it was such a nice park.

First time here, and oh my gosh. What a gem. Lots of panoramic views. Lots of flat rock to sun on. A flat grassy plateau for a game of catch. Asphalt and dirt pathways. Careful on the dirt ones though, lots of rock to trip on. If you are looking for a different perspective, this is it.

Nice quiet little park hidden in the heart of Esquimalt. Sanctioned off-leash park for dogs. The loop trail is short, less than 1km, but the views are amazing. There's a little field on the north side that is perfect for a little bit of fetch or off-leash play. Dogs and people there are friendly and we'll behaved.

High Rock park is a fabulous off leash dog park located in Esquimalt tucked away between Old Esquimalt Rd and Lampson Street. There is several entrances to the area. Two access points on Old Esquimalt Rd and another from High Rock Rd. There is a large open area at the bottom and a series of paved pathways through the rock leading to the summit where there is panoramic views of southern Vancouver Island. We are fortunate to live a short 5 minute walk to High Rock where we run our dogs daily.

A very nice park in the centre of Esquimalt. In a lovely Garry Oak forest with great views of the lower end of Victoria Island. Panoramic views of Victoria, Esquimalt, the harbours and even Washington State (on clear days :-)) You can see Mount Baker to the east on clear days, the Olympic mountains to the south. A nice Cairn with a plaque and names the landmarks you are looking out at.

I personally enjoy the surroundings in this place. The peak of the rocks gives people an excellent 360° outlook over Victoria and the lower end of Vancouver Island. The surrounding area is full of evergreen trees with multiple trails to get lost on with your dogs. Of course no matter where you come out your still in the middle of Esquimalt so we are only getting lost in the enjoyment of this excellent park. There are no washrooms but a paved trail up to the top gives even the handicapped this second to none observation point.

Absolute gem hidden in the middle of a neighborhood. Dogs are allowed off leash,but please be respectful of the nearby neighbors and wildlife so everyone can continue to enjoy it.

Great little natural oasis. Great for dogs and kids. Kids love climbing the rocks. Heck so did I. Sometimes you can lose yourself there and not realise you are in a city, and to me that is the tell tale sign of a good urban natural area. Would definitely recommend it for those that might want a little reak from the city.

Fairly easy short walk with a bit of clambouring up some rocks (when accessed via the trail off Old Esquimalt Rd). 71 metres in elevation, it's not a flat paved walk like The Gorge water way, but it's also not a hike like Lone Tree Hill. Terrific view at the top.
