Great for walking

Guantanamera Pineda

Wonderful for a good walk with the family

Dave Marshall

Nice river trail system worth a look

Tamara Lynn

Its definitely more of a walking trail park than a picnic friendly park. There's lots of foottraffic, and beaches on a sloped hill with little fire grills, but it gave us more exercise than we wanted for a simple blanket on grass picnic.

Great place to bring the family for a picnic or suntan with views of the Saskatchewan River. As a cyclist , I love starting at the Stony Plain road entrance and speed cycling down the whole section since it's a downward path till you get to the river. They also have BBQ pits ! Be prepared though , if the weather is good then it will be packed. But that's like most parks in the River Valley.

Shawn Nelson

Beautiful!!!

Greg Todd

Nice area and very clean, not too crowded on a weekend. Goes on for a while you could walk for hours, one of the more scenic walks in Edmonton

John B

Nice area for a walk or picnic

Steven Osterlund

This is one of my favourite place to start my walks, hikes, and bike rides. You can travel the paved trail until your feet bleed or until you get to Rundal park, which ever happens first. There are great paths to hike through which also double as single track trails to be ridden by bike. There is a trail that heads south off of the main trail and will connect you to Mackenzie ravine and the wooden walk way. During the winter parts this trail becomes very icy and has some fairly steep areas to climb and during the summer you will need to cross a few areas that have streams the run through it.

The trail is packed gravel, and slopes gently down toward the river. Which makes for a heart-pumping climb out! There are a few access points, some with stairs, and one with a steeper incline. I would rate this trail technically easy, with moderate traits. Dogs are permitted on leash.

D. W.

It's a relatively busy park but there is tons of space to sit and chill

Henry Villamor (henner)

Awesome section of the rivervalley. Perfect for walks, even better for picnics. Two modes of access, you can go through Groat road and there is parking. You can also park close to 142 street. You can see downtown from the trail, and what looks like Wayne Gretzky's house looking up.

JAYRON GARCIA

Beautiful green space with a great walking trail. This park has no washroom facilities and no picnic benches. That being said it is a wonderful walk down the ravine that leads directly to the North Saskatchewan river. And then connects with Government House Park. This area is part of the larger river valley parkway. It’s a good idea to bring a blanket to sit down on and enjoy the river valley scenic area. No picnic sites here but a short walk to Government House Park and there is lots of picnic tables there. Awesome area to explore.

Kristie Wiwad

One of my favorite sections of the river valley, especially in the summer. Beautiful!

Beautiful place, very expansive, and worth the difficulty you will have finding parking.you can catch concerts that are playing across the river at Keiler Point, or whatever it has been renamed to. Come here and get fit, you will be blown away by the scenery!

Adam Corazza

This ravine is good for commuting from west side to downtown. 10 minute bike and you're downtown. Some moderate hills, but mostly a slight slope down to the river. Clean and free of garbage thrown around. There are also barbecues available to have a nice dinner with a nice view.

Great place for a walk, jog or run or bike ride. City of edmonton takes pretty good care of the pathways in the winter so they are not too icy and cleared of snow. Trails connect from west edmo ton all the way to city center down town. Ideal to hop on these paths and bike your way to kinsman for a work out then home again in the summer.

Excellent place to have a picnic with the family. There is bike path and fields to play in. It has picnic benches where no bears in green hats will steal your pincanic baskets with a side kick named booboo. There is also places to make hot food by fire located at each picnic bench, best to bring own fire wood unless you do not mind the walk to find wood to burn.

Gunnar Blodgett

A gentle downhill slope from 142 Street and Stony Plaon Road into the river valley west of the Groat Bridge, the MacKinnon Ravine connects easily to River Balley Road and not so easily to Buena Vista Park.

Lovely place to go for a walk or bike ride, no matter the weather. Nice paved paths are cleared in the winter, and wind along the path of the river. Picnic sites abound, with fire pits for barbecuing. Paths diverge up into the city a various points, so access is easy; from Groat Road, 132 st, 142st and 149th there are access points. Many places to dip into the woods on natural paths as well, some of which are fantastic for biking.

I can't understand why there aren't "working" washrooms! I mean one has to walk all the way to either Victoria Park or Emily Murphy Park to use a washroom. I don't want to imagine what individuals with incontinence or the elderly would have to go through if they have to "go". Even some younger age groups. Jeez! Let's not forget pregnant women!......Its really a matter of concern!

the park mainly consists of a long stretch of asphalt to walk and commute on. it has small trails that veer off along the way, one that will loop in to hawrelak park. there is a main park area with BBQ and picnic tables by groat road but bridge construction currently is occupying the parking lot until sometime in 2020.
