Pleasant and shaded park. Surrounded by gorgeous trees. Has a few fire pit areas. And a few cooking/eating huts within the park. Also some free standing wood bbqs. A little sanded park with monkey bars a slide and some swings. Great green space to run around all over the place with the kids. Will be revisiting soon.

Most visitors do not realize, that Rivervalley parks are the best Edmonton has to offer. Not crowded WEM, but long park trails, shaded by trees along Saskatchewan river are true germ. Open almost all year round they offer great space for outdoor activities: walking, jogging, cycling, skiing, tobogganing, games, plus picnic tables/public washrooms. Parking limited to 2-4hrs. Emily Murphy park has open area to river for those bringing their own kayak/inflatable boat.

Great place to have a fire. Lots of individual picnic sites available with small wood burning grills. There’s are two fire pits available, one with seating provided. Bathrooms are on site and there is a shelter with an abundance of picnic tables. Situation nice and central in Edmonton with close access to trails and the river valley.

Emily Murphy Park is on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan River, and carries the name of a well known women's rights activist, jurist, and author. In 1916, she became the first female magistrate in Canada, and in the British Empire. Emily Murphy Park has 2 picnic sites available for reservation, with 24 picnic tables available for drop in (no fee) use.

Awesome ride today,... Perfect walking, or riding weather. People seemed a little "on edge", today for some reason, (Maybe I'm just a jerk-lol : ). I can't say I saw a lot of masked people other than myself. Hope people are not letting their guard's down too early and ruin any progress gained by us all practicing safe distancing protocol for the last 4 months?

The "Murph", as it is colloquially known, offers a hidden gem park experience nestled in the heart of Edmonton's majestic river valley. An ideal spot to hold your distanced outdoor gatherings, whether it be in the ever-increasing daylight hours, or in the still-chilly evenings, with a nice fire to cut the cold. Accessible by car, foot, or bike! Limited washroom amenities. Located within a stone's throw of other attractions like the University, Kinsmen and Hawrelak parks, as well as the downtown core and Whyte Avenue.
