This Park belongs to the category of City park.
What a beautiful park to enjoy for a walk with the dog any time if the year. Don’t just walk on the paved Shared Use Path (SUP). Go onto the bush trails and enjoy nature and the amazing views.
Good trails along the river
Beautiful spot and nice Canoe dock!
Kayaking was Amazing. It was a great experience...
Very nice place ???????????????? thanks guys aman ekjoc, aman, laly, and jaspar..
Gents, take your women here on a first date. Great place to meet the love of your life. Nice trails.
A beautiful park with amazing views of the city
Beautiful settings ❤️
A great off leash dog park. The dogs can unleash their humans and then go for a paddle in the river.
Great dog park!!! Friendly non Agra’s I’ve dogs only
Nice trails
I go often with my pup. It's a great place to go if you are interested in nature walks, and not just taking your dog out for him/her to run. You can run, bike or walk here with your dog, and it has a great place at the end for your pup to swim in the river.
It's a beautiful place with many hidden gems! One of those is a swing????
The park is good facilities are good they have change rooms men and women's washroom + BBQ and patios all over place the only thing that can be done better is road surface to reach near water can be made Better else everything is great...
Good to talk with your family and see all the sights. There is no wear. To fish
They're not always keeping the bathrooms open
I frequently come here to walk my dogs off-leash. Lots of trails, clean park, lovely Riverside experience
Love the well groomed green space our city keeps love that the layout of our city allows for easy access to any sector within 15 min on a bike you can get anywhere in the city I swear 15 mind to the central area it's good to live here
Good in the summer. But in the winter, cold. There was a gigantic deep puddle, could be a skating rink, so that was pretty cool. I fell in and at first I thought it would be the worst thing but you know what? Silver lining it cleaned my shoe. There is parking, but poor cell service. It could have been worse, I could have drowned. Overall, I might visit again.
Great, Very nice and Clean. Love It
I'm just going through all of the places it's telling me to rate and posting photos of Mammon from Obey me!
I had nearly forgotten about this little gem in the river flats. Nice area that also has off-leash walks for dogs. Picnic benches, walking trails, and on top of it all, beautifully scenic vistas of Edmonton's impressive river valley at the height of autumn colours.
Always love the hike
Nice nature place
Nice park. Clean and safe. Decent park available.
Great trails. My dog loves exploring here with me
What a beauiful walk. Paths are clearly marked, lots of garbage cans available for those with dogs and for any beverage you bring with to easily dispose of. Tables are found along with some smaller trails right by the water.
Nice walk, of leash is great. Lots of coyote action after dusk while we were there, be aware.
Great dog park with wide range of activities in the heart of the city
Great place to get on the water, as there's a boat launch and they put out floating docks in the good months. Lots of tables and BBQ pits. Awesome location for get together with a group. Trails for strolling and a decent amount of parking.
Awesome park
Very good place for a long walk. Enjoyed the rivervalley and trees on the basin
Nice to see!
Beautiful scenery and variety ofpaths. Convenient location.
Nice parked kind of tucked away.
It’s a really nice place to go if you are looking for a little outside time in a real forest feeling location. From what I’ve seen their are no water fountains so you need to make sure you bring your own. This park is right on the edge of the river so you get to see it a lot while walking which helps build up the really feel of the forest. You are not that close to to many roads so lots of the walk you will not even be hearing cars. Heavily recommended.
A great spot for walking with the kids and dog. The off leash is the best place to tire them out. Watch out for dogs and cyclists colliding on the sidewalk though as there's a major bike commuter path running through the middle of the off leash.
Awesome dog park!
A great place to walk the dog. Or explore! Lots of rolling hills and manicured walkways and paths. Plus a clean pitstop at the gazebo for water and bathroom break.
I ran a couple of D&D games in the shelter. The open fireplace is a good place to meet up.
Who doesn't like the going to the park
It's a gem, a dog park & a place for picnics. There are washrooms, boat launch, but no play ground for kids. The concern is keeping an eye on the kids around the river.
The path through Kinnard ravine makes for a nice walk.
Nice place to cook and see the sun set
Great place to pull out of the river it has washrooms and opens at 5 am till 10 pm easy access it does need more parking but the ease of the pick up point makes up for that. Great design by the City
Super cute park with a swing just off the river. It used to be hidden and hard to find but has clearly become a main attraction so sometimes you have to wait to get a good photo. The bathrooms are very clean for a public park.
Right by the River Valley nice bike paths
Great place for a walk, or scenic views if you're interested in photography! Especially with the changes of the year from Summer to Fall! Leaves & bushes changing their colour's, and leaves falling from tree's; saying winter is coming! For yet another change till the New Year comes
It was good for walking in the morning.
Great lesser-known park downtown. Day spots with fire pits and benches. Public washrooms, boat launch and a long, off-leash dog trail that follows the river. It's never been very busy when I've visited.
Trails both paved and bush trails running the river valley, also a off leash dog park.
Well maintained, nicest dog people in the city come here!
Beautiful views of the river and lush forests along the river. Must see.
Nice park. Very difficult to access though. There's also a huge amount of trash in the tree lines.
I liked it.
Excellent place to walk or ride even for younger riders, although the number of up and downs can make it difficult for younger riders to keep up.
From the parking lot to the Capilano bridge and back takes about an hour and a bit. Our dog loves the puddles along the way, lol. Can take the gravel path or the paved path. Nice walk down to the river at the far end where our dog loves to splash around on the bank of the river.
Love Dawson park! The hoodoos are amazing
Awesome place for walking, running, taking your pet, etc. Main route spawns along the river, but you can take side trails for more thrill. Plenty of nice people to meet on the go!
Nice river valley park with boat launch
A beautiful park with 2 trails...one is paved and one is gravel...the gravel trail is close to the river. There are quite a few picnic sites. A great place to walk your dog...the only con is there is limited parking. A plus is there are washrooms available.
This is a beautiful area for a family walk. Relatively quiet with off lease dogs running around. Was really surprised at how little traffic there was considering it’s part of the river valley walking system. I can’t wait to come back again during the summer with the family for another stroll and a picnic. Hidden gem along this pathway...a swing along the river bank.
Parks deserve a 5 star rating for what they are. This one definitely deserves the 5 star rating. Open green spaces with trails and benches, what’s not to love. There are picnic tables and wood fireplaces that you can use if you bring your own wood. Public washrooms are available. There is a boat launch. It’s a great park. I definitely recommend this place. It’s also dog friendly.
So many people walk their dogs here, wonderful for my dog! Maybe bad if youre scared of dogs
Gorgeous day down at the off-leash park
Dawson Park was wonderful I have nothing bad to say about it you can walk enjoy the lake
Great hidden gem of a park right by the downtown core of Edmonton. Parking is good and the pathway is wide making it great to keep a wide distance between you and fellow walkers. One of my favourite off leash parks in the city.
Great little hike. Needs maintenance.
A Great park in a great city
Fantastic dog park
Went for a scoot with my oldest boys and wife from Whyte to downtown. One of the many places we stopped to enjoy the view. Great park, and clean considering these covid times.
Great off leash park. Just wish they put down some ice melt as it's very slippery @ times. Wear ice cleats if possible.
An awesome park for hikes and a picnic! Washroom facilities are nice, clean, and regularly maintained. Definitely recommend for others!
This place was nice. Place to cook. Not as many as I had hoped for.
Such a great spot. It's not overly crowded. The issue is occasionally the bikers can be a but fast. It would be nice to have a doggie beach that's a bit shallow.
Any time spent in any of Edmonton River Valley Parks is time well spent.
Beautiful Green Space, clean and wee kept.
Park is very nice. While paths may be very wavey in stretches, the surface is smooth and in good condition.
Great off leash dog park that extends through the river valley. Offers a paved trail and dirt trail. Some great views of the river valley with beaches scattered about.
Beautiful park. Like being in the mountains. Off leash areas for dogs are huge. Quiet in the mornings. Busier afternoons and evenings. Weekends get quite busy but it's not one of the really busy city off leash parks. Places for dogs to go into the river if they like that. But it's much more than an off leash park. Definitely good for running, walking, hiking, biking or hanging out with or without a dog.
Great location for those highrise dogs to go and walk their owners. And thanks to City staff for keeping the facilities and the grounds clean. And trust me they deserve a thankyou from those who dont have anything. Good job parks & rec. 9 stars to the staff
Nice park to bring the dog. Best water access is at the beginning with the boat launch or at either end near the bridges. Park is open and well groomed lots of nice features though the path has seen alot of warping over time and can be deceptive to bikers at night, as the park is very dark after dusk.
I love the outdoors was pretty cool place. I enjoyed the fact that you could B.B.Q there and it right by the river I enjoyed it there was quiet when I went and relaxing. Played ball with two wonderful pooches, Daisy and Rosco. Definitely a great time and amazing memorie.
I love bringing my pup for walks here. There is a long stretch of trail that is a designated off leash area. The bathrooms are well-maintained. It’s a gorgeous sliver of nature so close to the city centre. There are two paths - one paved and the other gravel, that are separated by a stretch of grass and sometimes trees and brush. Sometimes there’s mud puddles- but the city is quick to fill them in with wood chips.
Another great park in Edmonton's River Valley. There's a boat launch for accessing the North Saskatchewan River. It's been recently renovated. The water is quite shallow here so launching is very easy. There's a pavilion here with washrooms and a water fountain. Decent sized parking lot. Picnic tables and cook stoves here so it's a great place for a picnic. There's also a trail connecting this park to others. I love this park.
An abundance of trails and picnic tables. Bring firewood and roast hotdogs and make smores. Public washrooms open 9-9
A beautiful riverside paved trail with gentle hills within the heart of the city. Off-leash and dog friendly, this is a great park for walking, running, or biking. The main parking area also has a clean public bathroom. There are also open green spaces for picnics or to play fetch.
It's ok
Best place to see Edmonton skylines..
Okay, so it's kinda rundown, with lots of dirt, falling down trees and dead leaves. And just when you think you are alone, a pair of cyclists or a couple with kids comes by... And you think, I've got to do this more often (too bad so many don't know about it).
Perfect place to unleash dog, biking, walking and hiking around the river valley.
Great place for a off leash dog walk
Great Park to stroll around in and watch the sun set.
I did not go here. I drove by. I visited a friend that lives half a block away. My Google maps won't let me say I wasn't there. I have no idea if it's nice or not.
Came here to fish. During high water (summer) it's tough to do more than fish from the bank since no access to beach is available. Lots of parking, relaxing, some nice walking trailers (paved, shale, dirt)
Beautiful
Great off leash dog park, lots of payed and graveled pathways.
Great place to walk your dogs off leash.
Nice place to see the river. They're washrooms and fire pits.
Amazing off lease park. Can go as family or just a jog it's absolutely worth it ????
Walked from Dawson east to the Gretsky bridge and back. About 6 km. Even though it drizzled a bit, it was refreshing and beautiful?
Great place to go jogging
This is a very nice place that is close to the river. The facility there also has washrooms which makes it family friendly.
Beautiful river spot late in the evening . River birds feeding on bugs .
Nice park
Very pretty. Will definitely go back
Perfect place for a medium to large gathering. Celebrated my birthday here and had a grill and bathrooms readily available. Highly recommend.
Clean, facilities available. Not overly crowded and has nice dividers for separating people at the benches, otherwise theres a ton of open space for everyone:)
Beautiful area to walk. Park like setting, easy access to river valley trails, interesting homes.
The staff from Boyle Street were awesome at making sure the bathrooms were well maintained and people socially distanced and used hand sanitizer before and after using the facilities
Had a great day exploring the river side
Nice place to go take walks it is beautiful by the river
Nice park there's public washrooms, you can roast hot dogs and burgers, and the river is close by for a leisurely stroll or if you have a boat there is a boat launch. Get there early if you want to make a fire as this spot is very popular!
Great place to spend the evening
Nice walking or cycling park. Off leash park but need to watch the cliffs to the water as some are very steep.
Nice trail through the river valley, ample parking but can get busy on nice days.
You can walk for hours starting at the park here and it’s never too busy!
First xcountry outing of the year. A little chilly however the tracks were clear and well groomed . Not too busy a quick 4.5 KM loop. Bam. Happy New Year.
One of our favourite parks! We love that it's spacious for those walking and biking, and especially that it's an off-leash park. There's plenty of paths to explore. The kids loved hiking up to the higher path to see the gorgeous views and then hiking down to the shore. It's such a wonderful park, highly recommend!
Great trails for trail running or mountain biking. Plenty of parking just off of Dawson Bridge.
The river valley is and always has been the best of Edmonton's assets, especially during the summer months. This park is well located in relation to downtown and in the middle of extensive 80 kilometre "ribbon of green" series of paved pathways.
What a little gem. Crazy busy but crazy beautiful
This is a beautiful park to enjoy a walk with the dog, jogging or even a picnic.
Dawson Park is situated in the middle of the river valley system, there are picnic tables, washrooms, and a parking lot. It's a beautiful area, not generally too busy, and great access to other areas. See pictures for a braille trail feature.
Too many dogs for my liking but terrificly centered in the heart of Edmonton's beautiful river valley trail system. When our kids were young we loved biking through here. Bring a picnic. Edmonton City Council last year did public consultation on a potential redevelopment plan. Could get an exciting new look in a few years.
Great off leash area that follows the river. If your dog is good in the water it's a 10/10
Great Park, lots of dogs, bathroom here too, great view of the river and close to downtown, minimal parking but a great hidden secret
Beautiful hike through the river valley. Great place to start and finish.
Just rode through, but very pleasant
