REVIEWS OF Point Pleasant Park IN Dalhousie

James MacLean

Point pleasant is a beautiful park full of large paths for walking, running, biking, strollers, wheel chair accessible. And smaller paths that cut through the woods with more rugged terrain. The park is at the tip of the Halifax Peninsula and looks out the mouth of the harbour and to McNabs Island. Lots of picnic tables, fort ruins, and places to explore.

Todd MacNeil

Wonderful place to walk and get fresh sea air. Also a great place to walk you dog.

Isaac Goggin

Gorgeous place for a walk

Amy Liang

Great place! I went there mainly because of Edith Smith's painting of the gatemen's lodge but harvested so much more pretty sceneries.

Keith Driscoll

It was a beautiful day and there were a lot of people there enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

TheLittleGamer

I love this park and often take the dog and kids there for a walk. There are lots of off leash trails and on leash trails as well. There is also a water station on the trail leading to the upper parking lot by Tower rd . People are always friendly passing by, one of my favorite parks in Halifax.

Sue Ket

Great oceanside park in the heart of the city. Terrific for joggers, dog walkers, and plain walking. Some dog and bike friendly areas (bike i think only some days of the week). Hear the waves of the harbour or go along the northwest arm.

Ladan Saee

Was a great place for a walk but not if you don't like dogs.

Andy E

Enjoyable, but I just wish dog owners would obey the appropriate leash laws as well as cleaning up after their pets. It's irritating and often sours our kids experience of park walks.

Albina Ziatdinova

This one of the best parks in Halifax. It has both ocean front and trails with the old beautiful trees. Each season you can do something there.

Vishnu Krishnakumar

A good park for bird watching and an evening walk!

Kyle Fuller

Pleasant.

It's ok great look off to the ocean

Amazing park downtown Halifax to enjoy nature and ocean views. Free parking available at multiple entrances, with the one by the port being the biggest lot. Has an outdoor theater (shakespeare by the sea) that puts on shows outside in the summer and indoors (also on parks premises) the rest of the year. The park also contains a few historical sites (a tower, artillery depot) and has multiple audio guide locations. In addition the park has a few exercise areas.

Russ Irwin

Frog Pond is an excellent walking trail for the family. You can use a jogging stroller with little difficulty if needed. Take seed with you for the ducks, they will eat out of your hand.

Mario (Ranjit)

Near the pumping station.

Nirmal Padmani

M DFAR

The most beautiful park I have visited in Halifax. Make sure to visit the Northwest Arm where the Atlantic ocean visit the Halifax in this park and you can hear the voices of the sea lions while you’re watching the blue ocean from the rocky beach . Before you go there you can take some sunflower seeds with you and put them on your flat hand next to the birds houses which are on some trees and wait a while to have an incredible experience about feeding the small brides like nuthatches. Touch the nature true this amazing wild park on sunny days .

Mohammad Basher

Best place to roam around.

Steph O'Connor

Nice walking trails, good for yourself or family's, or people with dogs. Nice sites by the water. Shakespeare by the sea is there sometimes (check online if you're interested in that, it's not always on). Dogs have on leash and off leash sections.

Heather States

Its peaceful and relaxing also beautiful. Lots of boats and photos

Anya Zub

Love this park so much. Nice trails, beautiful trees - I wish folks would keep their offleash dog activities to the offleash areas, but overall it's lovely here.

Scott Umlah

A really beautiful park great for the doggos!

Braeden Stanley

What a beautiful park, right in the city of Halifax. The park has lots of war history, including old bunkers, monuments and plaques to honor those who have fallen. There are also numerous trails to explore with lots of forests. There is also restrooms throughout the park as well as dog watering station. The park does have an off leash policy for dogs but between certain times. All in all a beautiful park to visit and highly recommended for anyone visiting Halifax!

Addie Burkam

Great place to go for walks or bike rides. Also if you don’t have your own dog you will see at least 20 other peoples dogs who you can pet. Also sometimes you can see seals in the water. Ocean doggos.

This is my favorite spot to bring a friend and walk the trails. Lots going on in the summer and it's really a cool place to visit and check out some historical sites.

Rex Woollard

It's a great natural enclave close to the core of Halifax. There are lots of people using the park throughout the day, yet with the huge network of trails it doesn't feel crowded.

Alexandra G

This is a relaxed place with quiet wooded trails where one can stroll with loved ones & friends, 4 legged & otherwise. Many side trails are off-leash, and all are extremely well maintained.

Ronald Gallant

Fresh air, majestic trees, beautiful trails(especially this time of year with all the vibrant colors) the sound of the ocean crashing against the shore. Meeting great people and every breed of dog imaginable....What's not to love!!!!

Wonderful park with lots of walking trails for a wide variety of paths you can walk. From the flat path near the sea to walk along, all the way up to Prince Andrews Tower, there is a path for everyone. Dogs are allowed off leash in certain areas as well, so an excellent place to go for a walk.

Monica Romo

My favorite place in Halifax so far ????

Peter Jeffery

Yes! Great place for off-leash dog walking (some, not all). Halifax's best park. No others can compete. This is local forests and ocean, safe and beautiful any time of year. My wife, ,our kids, our dog and I use it often and love it. How could you not? Free parking and a canteen in the summer. Bathrooms and outhouses along the paths. Fields for playing or lazing about reading. Historic forts and cann9ns make for great photo-ops. Just go.

Dane B

Huge forested park with lots of trails, some of which provide views of the harbour and out toward the ocean. Not much shelter from the rain so either go on a nice day or prepare to get soaked.

Edward Ryan

Really nice ????

melissa

Best place in the world, and you may get a chance to see a whale or seals. Furthest point in Halifax so you see so much, great walking and hiking trails animal friendly, beach area, little canteen old fort that were use in the wars.

Dim Passage

One of the most beautiful places in the entire city. This is a great place to go for a nature walk, there are miles of trails throughout the peninsula. Plenty of trees and other wildlife everywhere. It's also a good place to chill with friends in and abandoned historic structure next to the ocean. I would recommend this place is you want to go for a walk, you need to be in nature, you want time by the ocean, or you and your friends need a place to chill!

Amazing day to watch waves after a storm. Surfers were out catching waves.

Anoop Chempakasseril

A nice Historical place to visit. The view from the top is marvellous.

Alexis Harrington

Beautiful park and one of the biggest in the region. If you don't feel comfortable around unleashed dogs, don't go there, for dogs run freely everywhere.

Gord Potts

Lots of good views, clean trails and good spots for a picnic all within walking distance of popular spots within Halifax's downtown.

Selva Pavade

Heaven on Earth!!

David Kehoe

Walk along the shore, explore the old forts, hike a forest trail, there are a lot of simple pleasures to be had here. Also it is dog friendly, which is awesome.

Amrinder Singh

take a walk and enjoy the ocean views

Dean Zwicker

A seaside urban park in Halifax with access to the seaside trails and an interior trail system along with historic fortifications. Great for a quick break and walk or a casual stroll with friends and family or to explore and grab some photos.

Robert Austen (HaligonianRob)

Great for a walk or hike with your dog. Plenty of off-leash areas, sadly not everyone respects the on-leash area which can make it difficult when trying to train a dog.

Kyle “902Lancer” Fenner

Great place to go for a walk a little bit of history and beautiful views. Lots of trails to walk and all going over which way. Makes it easy to have a different experience every trip. Great place to see some local history also. Definitely a place to check out.

J-F Bondon

Even with the icy trails it was a blast to walk around the park... Beautiful large walkways no car free. Roaming area for the pets... Very nice

Milap Bhanderi

One of the best place to explore in Halifax.! Very peaceful place. You’ll like to go with your pet for jogging. The water shore is the place where you can spend your evening while meditating in summer.

Can get so crowded but a beautiful park in the city.

Sasa Misic

Great park to take the family, or just go for a bike ride yourself. Next time we'll bring the dog too, it's very dog friendly.

Natalie Cantle

Lots of walking trails and very pretty. Sometimes quite busy but lots of parking available and dog friendly, a good place to visit if you’re looking to take the dog for a walk or get out of the busy city for a bit.

Joel Scott

Beautiful park, people don't follow the rules for walking their dogs in on/ off leash areas. Don't go here if you don't like dogs.

Colin Bodor

Great park in Halifax! Was plenty of places for dogs and their dog like friends. Some good history as well. Be sure to step off the beaten paths a bit. Found some berries and picked them. All I all a pleasurable place to spend a afternoon!

Andrew Horsford

It's a great place to take the family, the dog or just yourself for a walk. It's beautiful in every season with both on- and off-trail paths. There are open areas for picnics and fantastic scenic views of the harbour and several historic sites. In the summer there are outdoor performances by the resident Shakespeare By The Sea company which are well worth it.

Olivier P (Oliver)

Nice big park.

Craig Nauss

A good place to walk or jog.

Ping-Chih Tsai

good trail, easy to do, takes probably 1 hour to do a whole circle (not counting the inside) dog friendly.

Fun, revitalizing, VERY dog friendly, clean, beautiful

David Macdonald

Wonderful park with beautiful views of the entrance to Halifax Harbour. Lots of walking and biking trails. So much to see! We're blessed to have this park in the city. This year the walkway around the container piers was opened. Really fascinating to watch the action as the ships are loaded and unloaded.

Benoit Lamoureux

Clean place. The memorial anchor monument is well done and well kept.

Daniel Higham

The off-leash dog trails are amazing. Just pay attention to the signs re: times of day. Speaking of signs, HRM should pay someone to copy-edit before printing ????

KUNZE WU (Lucas)

This picture was taken near Point Pleasant Park 9 years ago today. It's a very nice photo. Who's this cutie? Please message me and I will send you the original copy :-)

Heather Winkopp

Great park. It is about a 2K walk from the cruise terminal, so quite walkable to the entrance. We walked through the industrial area, but found a nice residential walk back. Don't pay for an excursion or cab to get there.

Emil Schreiner

Nice spot as always. Great for a quick walk or longer trip to explore off the beaten track. Bring a picnic and enjoy the sights of the comings and goings if both Halifax Harbour and the Northwest Arm. From the lower parking lot, you get a great view of the loading and unloading at the container port

Craig Shaw

Great walking trails and cool history - usable in all seasons

James Cary

Awesome place for a stroll. Lots of dogs visit, so great to go dog watching, or to take your own for a walk. Lots of cool buildings and towers to see along the walk as well.

Chantelle D'Eon

Great trails that have constant upkeep with off leash areas for dogs. Perfect for a leisurely walk or a run. Definitely don't enjoy a beer there. No one ever enjoys a beer there. Wink.

Andrew Johnston

I adore this place for walking. I love just laying in the grass and hearing the quiet end of the city. Never too busy. People who bring dogs here are usually respectable.

Matt Lewis

Early morning walk in point Pleasant park is great with the dog. The whole park is off leash till 10am.

Cody Lucier

Beautiful park. Long trails with lots of historical plaques to read. A small beach to dip your feet in the Atlantic and an amazing view. Must see in Halifax

Well kept great series of trails, not far from home. Endless cute dogs too.

M B

Amazing views. Wonderful for off leash trained dogs. Lots of trails on leash and off leash for the fur babies.

Nicole Ross

Point Pleasant is a beautiful park at the tip of the South End. The old battlements are fun to explore and the overall area is beautiful. Definitely a dog friendly park. There are also clean public washrooms which are always appreciated.

M S

What an amazing place to visit. Great trails. Beautiful location. Historic and a must see.

Kelly H

Beautiful scenic area to go for a drive. The beach area and lighthouse is great for photo taking... There is a small island that looks different depending on if the tide is in or out....

Qiot Riot

Great place to visit with the family. Nice walk and great view of the mouth of Halifax Harbour. Nice and quiet place to sit and watch the ships entering and leaving the harbour. HMCS Montreal is pictured in one of the photos entering the harbour.

Jodi Bernstein

Went here for a walk in the afternoon in August and had a great time. Followed the trail around the outside of the park overlooking the ocean . Clear ocean. Lots of people walking their dogs.

Zack MacGregor

Loved the park but the bike ride from the boardwalk was terrible. You have to go down a narrow industrial road. I can't believe Halifax hasn't done something better to connect the two. Inside the park it's beautiful with a few Victorian forts to explore. Watching the shipping traffic enter the narrows was neat too. If you liked the Citadel then this park is another must see.

Liam Duncan

I've been coming to Point Pleasant Park for 55 yrs. Now, that I'm older it is simply a beautiful place to relax with tons of history and views.

Kevin Bechard

A very popular park for Haligonians and their dogs. Also a great place to go for a bike ride (during the week) or to take in some outdoor theatre.

Sifat Jamal Jisan

Love the park. Great views, great trails, love feeding the birds and squirrels. I have issues with the washroom facilities. The port-a-potty at the Tower Road entrance should be replaced with a permanent structure. Also there are three port-a-potties on the main trail, all LOCKED. What gives? The park is a favourite of Seniors and asking someone to walk 3km to use the washroom is unreasonable.

Peter Wamala

This is where the Titanic crashed the history is so powerful you can fell and I felt it also the people are so lovely it's a very warm welcoming place to be

A F

Not bad

H M

Overall Great park. Pros: Beautifully maintained five gravel pathways with on and off leash dog areas. Certain routes are more flat that others offering various levels of difficulty ranging from extra low impact to medium impact. Park has many benches and picnic areas. Park offers a swimming beach for warm weather and poplar dip use. Park has additional beaches typically for dogs. Park offers some public use exercise machines. The park is operated by parks Canada. As such it is affiliated with many great programs offered through Canadian national historic sites. Many of those activities are free and a great way to explore the park, meet friends/socializd (during non-pandemic times) and get active. Park offers summer only services such as ice cream vendors and Shakespeare by the Sea for plays. If you are looking for a great place to take your small children then this park is great, for little ones under 5 I recommend area that are on leash in case of a runaway dog, new puppy or poorly trained dog/puppy/owner. The park offers free bags to pick up poop that can be found at various locations throughout the major trails in the park. Park has lots of historical buildings great for photographs and exploring. If you wish to feed the animals all year round you can enjoy many small creatures but especially chickadees, blue jays, crows, squirrels and chipmunks. Extremely well maintained. Offers 2 parking lots, one facing the containers and shippingyard and the other at the end of tower rd. Cons: Since Hurrican Juan (2003) some areas of the park are sparse of trees, so the wind from the harbour and the arm can be quite chilly (bring a wind jacket or a sweater if you chill). Outhouses are not maintenanced often and out of toilet paper on a more than regular basis. But the park itself is the reason to go visit. If you visit the park and have any incontinence issues, I recommend bringing a packet of to go wipes (toss the used in the bin) or a handy pocket sized packet of facial tissues and some sanitizer.

Steve Fogarty

Beautiful and relaxing. Nice long walk.

winnie fitzgerald

Beautiful, natural looking park.

Greyson Jones

Amazing. Simply, naturally amazing.

Alexandre Desaulniers

It's a nice place for dogs to take a walk at all times of the day. Beaches, secret paths great for kids!

ashton bennett

Best Park ???????? in the country hands down

Internet Person

Being a very large park, you will always find something nice at Point Pleasant. Experience the best of both worlds here with landmark attractions for historical learning, and small scenic crannies for personal bonding. This park is the perfect setting for long walks with loved ones.

Victoria Ruth Larson

Space, green, safe, oceanfront, historic, picnic areas, relaxing, you can walk or run, good for children to play and be free to walk and wander. I do not like dogs but they need space as well as humans even though there are SO MANY DOGS. Yes thankfully the city recognizes the importance of this park to people. It is a lovely place to spend a few hours.

Alain Saucier

Very nice park for to relax and watch the ocean. It also has many very nice trails for hiking.

Tyler Guest

This is a beautiful large Park at the South End tip of downtown Halifax. Our are own Central Park if you will. So much space to relax and enjoy yourself; ponds, Coastal lining forever and great people are always in the Park - for the most part anyway. Shakespeare by the sea and other outdoor shows can be held there. Point Pleasant park has a gym and I'm glad the government and afford it for the easy price of $0.10 a year ( go ahead, look it up!) Enjoy Point Pleasant park for everything it has to offer I hope you enjoy Halifax as much as I do.

Siti Zubaidah Mohd Hashim

Had a lovely stroll along the wooded path. There were people running, but many came with their dogs. The dogs were thrilled to run around without their leash on. You can see the smile on their face. Just be sure to see the signs where the dogs can be unleashed. The park still hold remnants of it's history and that's a good thing. The path also brings you along the ocean, which is really lovely. The squirrels and the birds and the ducks are there to entertain you. They seem to look forward for some food bits. We had some squirrels scurrying in and out of the woods trailing us expecting some seeds.

Bruce Stearman

Lovely place for a mild winters day walk.

Paolo Q

This place is awesome!!! It was my first time walking through the park. It's an incredible walk with lots of historic stuff all sprinkled throughout. It's was quiet and peaceful. I'm definitely going back for an easy, relaxing stroll. I hope this helps

Grant Lamontagne

Beautiful spot for a walk. The wide, well groomed pathways are perfect for maintaining social distancing and excellent for people with mobility issues.

Amanda England

We are so lucky to have this beautiful park so close to downtown and on the tip of the peninsula. Beautiful views of the Halifax harbour and it is about 90 percent dog off-leash friendly! Our little guy loves his weekend walks greeting every dog and person he sees.

Michelle Baker

Nice if your looking for a walk or an off-leash dog area. No playground or beach for the kiddos.

Chris Bolton

Buetiful Park with amazing walking trails. I always love seeing everyone's dogs out for a walk

TheDoctorIsIn

A beautiful park past its prime. The spruce beetle did major damage to the trees and many have been removed. Hopefully it will return to its former splendor in the next 10 to 20 years.

pinar unsal

It's a great national park for tracking in the heart of the southern Halifax! . You can enjoy your coffee anytime or take sun bath in summer. There is a dog unleash area to walk your dog and your puppy will enjoy the swimming.

Laura Mills

One of my favourite places in Halifax. Great way to pass a nice day walking on the many trails. Beautiful views of the harbour from here.

Mark Olding

Beautiful setting, no better place to let go of stress and be calm.

Kps Virk

Excellent place for a quiet day. Good place for exercising dogs. Good place for a run. Has historical sites related to defence of Halifax. Neat, clean and well maintained.

Krista Whitehouse

Find geocaches. There are a lot of really good geocaches in here, if you are the type to enjoy a bit of a hunt. The paths are fantastic for biking or walking, and the scenery is beautiful, complete with historical buildings. Truly a gem of Halifax.

Kate Ali

Love this piece of paradise in Halifax!!

Tina Mason

Love taking the dogs here but hate the drive down to the park. The runners are always all over the road and not on the sidewalks and they refuse to move for vehicles. There's no need to 5 and 6 side by side up the street when there is a sidewalk USE IT!!!! Also most cyclist who ride through the park are not cautious of the dogs either... Especially during offleash times down by the waterfront

J G

Point pleasant park is such a wonderful place for everyone. We love the off leash area for our dog and visit the pond every year in August to see the dragonflies. It is such a Beautiful place with lots to explore!

Chris Stone

A beautiful park right on the ocean, Point Pleasant Park provides several kilometres of seaside trails minutes from downtown Halifax. The summer also brings the Shakespeare By The Sea Theatre Company to life, acting out The Bard's best all about the park!

Eric Karr

Beautiful park to spend time with friends, family, and pets. Great off leash trails to walk your doggo on!

Mike Foley

Fantastic walking trails right in the city with beautiful views of the Halifax Harbour. There are a couple monuments, a beach and ample parking.

Shuvankar Saha

Good place to spend a beautiful summer afternoon. Sitting on the chairs we could see the intersection of beautiful blue sea, high hills and the sky. Walking through trail was a pleasant experience. Me and my family was there on last September 2019. Loved the place.

Old Bastard Outdoors

Halifax's most popular park, having miles of trails to bike, jog or even walk. Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and watch everything from sailboats, yachts, cruise ships, military ships, and kayaks pass by.

Sergio Garcia

Little piece of heaven, enjoy your time here and find you favorite spot to relax, no matter if it's a hike, read, jog, etc. You will find peace.

Brian Dodds

Very scenic well maintained park. Lots of happy of leash dogs here so don't come if you fear dogs

Shep Sheppard

Best place for nature and meet other dogs

Ernie Bishop

The greatest public space in Halifax. If you prefer the water you can take a walk or run along the shoreline. If you like the seclusion of the forest you can take a walk or run in the interior of the park. There are several Geocache in the park as well. Also it's home of Shakespeare By The Sea!

Kitty K.

A touch of wild nature right beside downtown Halifax! Very nice for a walk or running. Be aware if you don't like dogs because there's unleashed zone in the park. Or you can sit by the ocean and enjoy both sunshine and the gorgeous view of McNab Island.

Devon Boorman

This is a beautiful park. I love the old historical batteries full of cannons. Walking out to the inlet is also a highlight particularly at the end of the day when all the sailboats are coming back in and the sun is setting. Great place to walk a dog or just wander with a friend.

Conor Dolan

Best park hands down. Have loved this park for family walks for over 30 years. Very dog friendly and the place to be on the weekend.

MD MEHEDI HASAN

I often visit this favourite place

Hanzala Qureshi

Great place to be alone.

Gillian Stanton

Really nicely kept park! It's gorgeous to walk through during the summer time. Additionally, there are various areas and sites that have historical monuments or pieces. It is also great for walking/running with dogs. There are sections of the park that are in leash and off leash, so expect to see dogs running around freely! (Also, there are a significant amount of squirrels in the area, so dog owners beware!) And my first trip, I had to have my phone or else I would get lost from all of the trails. It is a very large park.

Jason Belliveau

Love going for walks here. They are a leach free zone so lots of happy puppies.

Christopher Lohnes

Great to get out and walk and not worry about running into so many ppl

My mother and I were walking by the sea. Suddenly my brother accidentally broke his knee. We were all very nervous. My mother used borax water to disinfect the wound and then helped him wrap the wound.

Raghu Jangamakote

Good for morning walk being located in the heart of Halifax.

angus cormack

Awesome park to walk! It's big (to the eyes of a Kansasn) and beautifully wooded. Consider your parking choices well. Park by the water to have a downhill return to the car, or at the North lot for an uphill at the end!

Gren Wood

Joseph has so much fun here!

Michael Nazaroff

Great place to get away from the city or take your dog's for a walk. Many trails throughout the park would take days to explore everything. I spent a couple hours there and only saw like 20% of the park. Lots of little hard to spot trails that come with challenges or take the big wide main trails for a more relaxed walk.

Rachael Fitzner

Well behaved dogs, beautiful views of the ships coming in and out of the harbour. A great place to take your dog or family for exploring nature in a safe environment!

Sol Simpson

Great park to walk the dog right in the city.

Colton Allen

Great place right within the city to go for a really nice walk. Lots of great views and great combo of off leash and on leash dog areas.

Jennifer Lewis

Busy but nice

Nathan England

One our favorite places in the city to walk our dog.

Raquel Chubey

Love this.park and used to swim at the beach in late 70's. You can find nice shells and glass but sadly you see a lot of....garbage too. This poor park to a blow some time ago and lost trees which is easily noticeable and sad but still beautiful historic place to visit!

Dana Clark

Great place to run or walk a dog apparently. Worth a visit if you like nature. It’s big, don’t get lost.

Ann Harrington

Relaxing, accessable.

I adore walking around point pleasant park anytime in the year. Scenery never disappoints and it’s a fantastic work out.

Great spot to take your dogs. On the weekends between 9 and 10am, there are usually about 30 or 40 dogs that will show up.

Naomi

Great paths and the smell of the ocean is amazing!

DON RANNI HALIFAX REALTOR

One of Halifax’s best parks, great views of the water, there’s a little beach lots of picnic tables & historical buildings along the way. You can walk run or bike the trails which are dog friendly with designated on & off leash areas. Plenty of parking as well.

Ketan Chhatwani

Beautiful park with an easy to do trail

M SHADE

Gorgeous park! Whatever you do, DO NOT go there during rush hour. You have to drive through Halifax and the traffic is ridiculous. Make sure you wear good walking shoes and bring something to drink.

Taiza Araujo

Nice place to spend a day!

Pat Brennan-Alpert

Lots of dog walking on the weekend. Squirrels kvetching at the dogs. Widgeons and mergansers in the water. Wintergreen in the snowy woods. That's Point Pleasant Park on a winter weekend. Weekdays there are more runners.

Kathryn L. Rochon

What a lovely park! I am so glad that we visited here on our first ever trip out to Nova Scotia. I loved wandering the park, Geocaching, and walking down by the water. It is so neat that there is a set of barracks you can see at the water's edge. There are sections of the park where dogs are allowed on leash and others where they are allowed off leash, which is great. And I could tell that the local wildlife are used to being fed here - a chickadee flew right up to me and landed on my hand! A very cool experience.

brandon sabean

I almost touched a duck ????

D H

I love taking the dogs for walks in Point Pleasant. To me it is the best off leash area in Halifax. The dogs are always happy and tired at the end of the walk.

Thien Tran

Right at the South End of Halifax. Great park.

Ferin Patel

The best place to visit in Halifax during winter especially when it’s snowing. The park is entirely covered in snow and it has breathtaking view of Atlantic Ocean. You will find people out for walk here with pet along. It’s huge place and …

Tina Reilly

Beautiful view and nice walkway

Island “darr” Boy

We were visiting from Ontario and to have a coastal view and historic relevance, wide well-stoned paths, great treed areas with paths, and accessible washrooms, was a great experience.

Shiv

Great place for running and strolls ????

Ted Crocker

Beautiful park overlooking the entrance to historic Halifax Harbour and the North Atlantic Ocean. Lots of trails, beautiful views and remnant memories of the world wars. A moving place.

Malcolm Norton

It's a beautiful park and finally coming back after Juan all those years ago. I've been walking the trails in the morning for over 30 years and have rarely seen issues until recently. Now it's necessary to be careful of kids and dogs with the park staff who seem to consider walkers and park users an inconvenience. They drive their excavators and other park vehicles on sidewalks going into the park and through park users inside the park. Someone's kid or dog will get hurt unfortunately, everyone beware.

Jeannette Rogers

Love it there, close to the ocean. Nice walking ????‍♂️trails as well.

Abdullah AlBiladi

Nice place to walk, hike or run. Simply you can sit and watch the ships moving around the harbour and enjoy the ocean’s view. There are a plenty of picnic tables to have you food. Good for families with tiny kids as well.

Kara Baisley

Nice trails, great off leash dog areas with friendly people. Love the views of the water and old growth trees.

Nathan Gildart

A great park on Crown land in Halifax's north end. Walking and cycling is great and a QR code historical tour. Plenty of shaded places and safe areas to swim. Great views. You can bring dogs and some areas are designated for walking dogs off a leash.

Dawna McGladrie

Beuatiful spot in South end of Halifax. Walking trails, trees, ocean, beach, history! Its all here in this park. As a bonus, lots of puppie dogs get walked here. I met a gerougous 3 yr old Rotti, a very friendly and excited French bulldog, a Terrier autographed my pants with his pawprint, and a English bull dog who I kust had to take a picture of. All dog interaction was at my request with consent of the owners.

Misti Rutherford

Beautiful spot, lots of trails and dogs.

DP Steyn

This is a great place to wander around, even after Hurricane Juan really damaged the area years ago. Very popular place to go in the summer and dog walking etc. Just be careful, I once had my car broken into and stuff stolen out of it in the parking lot. It wasn't even a nice car with nice things in it, so just beware.

Louis Horvath

Cool tower!!!! And it's free

Mark Williams

The walk along the arm is beautiful and it’s a great place for a run. This park has the potential to be the city’s jewel but it falls short. The best city park if you want a nice forest stroll is hemlock ravine park in Bedford

Aqil Sidek

Amazing park for running/walking/spending time with family. Lots of squirrels out when it's warm and they're pretty friendly. Gravel paths are also fun to ride. Only a couple steep hills but it is still fairly hilly. The walk along the seaside is quite flat and very enjoyable. Generally fairly quiet with not too many people.

Charlene Carr

One of the best places in the city, Walk or run through trails, explore side paths, watch the ships come in, or, if it's the right time of year see a wonderful performance of Shakespeare by the Sea. Perfect for couples, families, friends, and for me, a marriage proposal! This park will always hold a place in my heart.

Zzz

Heaven.

Anirban Das

Nice park with ample car parking space

Sterling LaRowe

Nice big park for nice easy walks. And lots of dogs to pet.

A nice place to take a walk with my family!

A Mutov

The scenery is not spectacular and there are many dogs without leash despite the signs, my children got barked on a few times, didnt like it at all

Kevin Stone

Excellent place to go and relax on a nice walk, I always take the off lease trails and meet the local fur babies!

Greg Glasner

A wonderful park close to downtown Halifax

Connor Burlton

ALWAYS loved this park!! Everyone is very friendly, gorgeous views, nice 1 hour long walk around in a circle.. plenty of trails branching off your main routes could make it last longer than an hour walk with numerous amounts of statues/monuments to keep you entertained! It is a dogs off leash area except for one small area when u begin to enter the trail on the south side of the park.. All dogs ofcourse are all sorts of breeds, very fun place to go if you are a dog owner/advocate, good place to meet friends as well! Free of charge to do anything in the park!

Greg White

A wonderful urban park with good walking trails and even better views.

Matthew Robinson

Always a fun place to go for a walk

Shawn Hines

Point Pleasant Park is a great place to go for a walk with friends or to take a stroll by yourself. Also great place to walk to pups. There are a number of different trails, lots of great scenery to take in and take pictures of. If you prefer to run or jog the trails are wide enough that others will not be in your way. There is s bunch of different historical sites in the park as well.

Eliart Dungca

Great place to unwi d and relax

Stefan Erberich

Awesome piece of Canadian history! The old military structures are well kept, signage is very informative. In the summer there are live theatre performances around the park.

azza salim

So peaceful ❤

Bluenose Pam

Went to Shakespeare by the Sea. Really enjoyed the production of the Wizard of Oz. Very talented performers, in a beautiful setting. Wish there was some signage in the park to direct you to the location.

A very big park where you can have a swim in the small beach or walk on the long trails with your dog or bike along or have a picnic on the shaded areas. I love this place!

Monsterwolfgang Wolfgang

Very nice park. Beautiful views of the ocean and the Northern Arm. Vast areas of off leash for dogs. A number of historical sites and a great view of the container ships coming in.

Ian McKenzie

Huge, beautiful park with many trails to walk and bike through. Definitely worth taking a hike through to take in the amazing waterfront scenery.

Claude Elliott

I spent most of my time here walking around Point Pleasant Park during my visit to Halifax. Very nice place for walking, running, dog walking, biking, cross country running, picnic table areas, birds watching(bring your camera)and fields where you can do outdoor activities etc. Bring something warm depending on the weather, temperatures can change very quickly due to the fact that you will be walking closer to the water. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Halifax.

Taylor Arbuckle

Nice big park with plenty of trails to explore and walk along, as well as a bus right to one entrance, a dog's off leash area, and even a beach, this park has lots to offer

Great family friendly location, it's accessible and great for children, lots of nice walking trails as well as a beach and it has picnic tables and lots of open space for everyone to get their exercise and play in! My daughter really enjoys going here and just sitting listening and watching the waves roll in from the ocean it's beautiful!

Paul O

Great spot to pretend you're not in the city!

Stephanie Power

Beautiful place for a walk in the heart of the city! Trails go through the forest and by the water. There are also trails for off leash dog walking!

Brian Fitzpatrick

Amazing trails and a great view of the ocean

Ayden Murphy

Nice trails, and lots of dogs. Be careful with smaller dogs though becuase there are a lot of off leash areas. We saw rather aggressive dog in the parking lot that was growling and snapping at other dogs passing by and the owner let it off leash. We kept away from those areas becuse he could have hurt our small dog. Other than that it was very pleasant (pun intended) and I would like to go again.

Graeme Van Leer

I LOVE this park. Love the fact they have dog off leash areas. Loads of waste bins, great trails. Amazing views of the harbour & North West Arm makes this a really great walk destination with the dog...and the kids!

Fred Hill

Beautiful area of the city. Excellent views of the harbor. Many many WW2 historic sites to visit. Miles of walking and cycling trails with slight to moderate elevation changes. Dozens of park benches to rest or eat. Take a few peanuts with you....the squirrels will thank you.

Underwater Dreamer

Really lovely and so well maintained.

Manpreet Kaur

Awesome Views!! Great Park to spend time with family and friends

Chrïs

One of the best off leash areas ever. My dog loves it. There are water fountains for dogs and several places to access the ocean. There have been concerns about bacteria or pathogens in the fresh water creeks in the park, so it's best to keep your dog's away from these.

Carlos Morales

Quiet and excellent for go jogging or just walking

Kelsey Knutson

Impressive how the public is encourage to explore and connect with these interesting points of history. Thank you Beautiful park, off leash areas, washrooms and parking. Autumn

An ideal place to run, walk your dog, or just look around. Keep an eye out for the squirrels and birds if you are into photography!

mitch davis

This is a lovely park with a great path along the water plus trails through the trees. I've only visited as a tourist without my dog, but it appears to have lots of off leash area - not little patches of dog park, but a very large area. It's a great place for a dog-lover who doesn't have a dog to see dogs in action. And it's a great place for running!

Jeremy Buehler

A great place for a walk and view of the harbour. Can be crowded on weekends.

Nick Curran

A great place for running and walking and and awesome place to bring the family.

Dileep P

Nice park for a stroll, quite expansive with a pond in the middle. There is a stage area, where they had a band playing live music, not sure if that happens all the time though.

Lil noisy for a nature park however love visiting the forts inside and the history of the park makes it exquisite, the trails are well kept and even the off trails are fun!

Suki Yoo

so beautiful place ever

Tushar Sareen

If you guys are looking for peace. Must go there.

ananth babladi

This review is going to be short because of the situation in which I visited this place. It was cold, wet, and being a first time visitor, I was not prepared with correct clothing. Nevertheless, arriving at the parking lot and looking at the ocean near the park was enough to evoke happy feelings of looking at the nature. It is a beautiful park that you can could get lost an entire day and still be not satisfied with it. Lots of history associated to the park too. Because of the proximity to the water, always be prepared for weather changes. You will love it.

Dan Brennan

Beautiful park in downtown Halifax with great trails and nature hikes. Historic buildings on the grounds and well as a breathtaking view of Halifax harbour. One of my favourite green spaces in HRM

André Lavergne

A lovely place to walk or sit a while. Dog lovers (and dogs) abound. Friendly!

Chris Zulinov

Wander endless through beautiful trails. This parks, where the orignal Haligonian settlers first landed, gives great views of the ocean and beyond. By exploring the historic forts and monuments, you will learn a lot about Halifax and its place in the world

Kevin Cullen

Dumantha Jayasuriya

Nice place to take a walk. With family have kids over for play

T.D. Murdoch

Andrew Pepper

Always great to go to Point Pleasant Park. Glad they added more temporary washroom facilities

Efe Celiktaban

A must visit in Halifax. Aside from the giant container port right beside it, this place is heaven. Nice arboretum, great views and several locations where you can actually get in the water.

Shari StarrFire

Very nice oceanside park if you have dogs. I noticed many dogs off leash and did not see any negative incidents. My little Labrador retriever is a bit young, so we kept him on leash. Lots of different trails to choose from.

Simon Payn

Best walking park in the city. Never a let down.

Kushang Mistry

Best place in South part of Halifax. Seashore and sound of water and seagulls feels like nature is at its best. One can enjoy view of Halifax port from here, good place for photography and for short time picnic. Table for sitting available here, you can enjoy the view from there.

Vanessa Noueider

Very peaceful and beautiful park

Emanuel Serra

I don't know how or why one would review a park but what the heck here goes: lively little place to go for a run or walk the dog. Newbies will love discovering the ruins and old castle towers and ramparts scattered throughout the park. Long timers like me probably miss the greater plentitude of trees pre-Hurricane Juan. But it's a new day and at least some of them are still here with us. Sure wish the city would plant new saplings though.

christina Eh!

Love this park, views, beautiful. Great in summer when the have the plays ????

Melissa Spears

Great greenspace in Downtown Halifax.

iamdan.online

It's beautiful and free. And it's a great place for a nice walk.

MartinJ

We enjoyed a long walk around the park this morning. Large city parks like this are a gift. Thank you Halifax for preserving this wonderful green space.

praveen kaja

Its really a pleasant park and trails are well maintained. Sea side view is beautiful. Must visit place in halifax. Walkers for sure will enjoy the park.. Lot of open space for get together and for playing fun activity.

Chris Huphman

We spent the day cleaning up the park. Do this every year with Loblaw and WWF. This park is tidy in general but we did end up removing 30lbs of garbage which is impressive. Great views and trails to explore. Go off in the woods, explore.

Grace Atkinson

One of our favourite places to walk our dog. Gorgeous view of the harbour. I do find it odd that certain areas are ‘no dogs allowed’ in a park that is mainly off leash. But oh well, plenty of other trails to explore.

Sansu

Great place to have a long walk right in town

Benjamin Hargreaves

My favourite spot in all of Halifax!! If you love dogs, come spend an afternoon here reading, and enjoying the random doggos that come say hi. :)

Degonto Mazumder

Point Pleasant Park is a wonderful park with numerous interesting monuments and buildings to discover. You can spend an entire evening there walking around and discovering new sights. It's also a great spot to just relax and observe the ships passing by.

Katie Enman

I live close to the park and am still in awe of its beauty every time I visit! There are several walking trails, benches, artifacts, and areas to throw rocks in the water. Perfect for a family walk or running solo. Generally people with off-leash dogs are respectful of the zones however sometimes they need to be reminded when small children are around.

Kasia GT

a halifax version of central park in nyc. so large, lots of dogs, lots of pathways, bike friendly as well, perfect place for a run. i love it. waterfront can be a bit smelly sometimes though.

Anica K.

Nice clean park wirh lots to see. Can get really windy.

Michael Fisher

Even stroll, walk dogs, bicycle riding, jog, hike etc all in one. Park is about 3.67km total to walk around but offers many different options to walk through the woods or along various trails. Also ideal for picnics, to chill or to skip rocks.

Garcia Family

Its a good get-away from the city. A few long trails among trees and bushes, which our dog loved most of all! Plenty of off-leash dog areas too. It wouldn't hurt if there were a few more maps around the place. The take-away maps ran out at the main parking lot, and we would've gotten lost if it wasn't for a friendly local who showed us the way. Great sites :)!

Cyrus Almeida

Fabulous place to visit on for a days outing, you will have tons of things to do in point pleasant with beach small hill tops, water front to long trails for walk and run. Must go place for any tourist coming in Novascotia. There are few historic spots and forts within the park. You can take your dog and pets and with you in certain permitted walkways very clean and spacious location for friends and family gatherings. Lots of parking available with options to park on streets. Halifax Transit Bus no 29 rides to the park directly. Frequency 30 Minutes.

Melissa Hinckley

I great place to escape to escape the city for a little while

Huge park with tons of seaside and wooded trails. Great for bikes and dog walkers.

Owen Forty

I would visit the park a few times a month. It's a beautiful place to walk and there are many things to do and see. The park is full of history and during the summer there are various events held there such as outdoor plays. If you're in Halifax and want a nice quiet afternoon this is definitely a place to see.

Evan Hardy

A pleasant place to walk your dog, has a superb off-leash area with nice wide paths. If you are walking in the winter you may want to have some ice grips on your shoes, it can be icy.

Francesca Patten

Well maintained with many interesting historic sites, Point Pleasant is a great place to learn about Halifax. If you don't like dogs, however, you may have a problem as there are many off leash areas.

Simon Ross-Siegel

PPP is currently the only off-leash dog park on the Halifax peninsula with large open spaces and multiple brush cleared paths. It's a wonderful place to get away and come take a walk on its own, but for dog owners, it's also a genuine resource for ensuring our dogs get opportunities to become properly socialized. For us, it was the perfect environment to work on our recall and distance boundaries. We come here once a week minimum to be here with a community of responsible dog owners who rely on this park for our dogs' well being.

Sanela Moraca

My favorite park...super pleasant to stroll or run through! Lots of dog walkers so if u're not an animal lover not a place for you!

Jennifer Humphrey

In the Summer Shakespeare by the Sea is performing in the Park. This park is a dog friendly park, so you will see many unleashed. I took a picture of the map right away and was able to find my way around very easily.

Kelly Wu

We're fortunate to have such a lovely green space in Halifax. With wildlife, a beach, a system of trails, and places to sit and enjoy the view, it's a great place to slow down and appreciate nature.

Kelly Mercer

Always a great place to visit! My family and I like to spend a couple weekends there a year walking the many trails. It is finally starting to fill in after the hurricane Juan devastation over a decade ago.

Joe

A great place to walk the dogs

Andrew McDonald

Great place to come for a walk with the family. Dog walkers are out when we were with dogs off leash (there past 10 am), I'm ok with that but be aware others might not be. Also please clean up after your dog. Having poop on my boot is not a New Year's Eve gift I want.

randomguy4U2watch

I've been going there for years I love it there find it very relaxing the people are usually very friendly and the staff do a great job keeping the place clean

Shruti Ghariya

Great place for natures lovers.

Ayoola Efunkoya

Beeeeaaaaach! Excellent park with lots of side attraction. Unleash your dogs and let them play freely.

Michael Ambroziak

If you own a dog this place is an off leash must.

Jack Luke

This is such an awesome park! The only reason why I'm not giving it a five star rating is because they should have more outdoor gym equipment, the park only has one pull up bar and a small workout station.

Matthew Gillis

This place is amazing! So much space with so much walking. You get a good little workout from all the hills not matter the direction. Weekends are a bit packed but still pretty good.

Andy F

Beautiful place for a walk along the waterfront, exploring some cannons, or just getting exercise among nature. Lots of dog walkers and joggers enjoying the nice weather!

Most beautiful park in the city

Kevin Patel

It was good place to sit down and spent time. People can click some awesome pictures.

Brandon Burke

Great place to spend an afternoon. Nice trails. Pet friendly with dog off leash trails and open fields. Also good views of the harbour and old world war 1 and 2 era forts scattered throughout.

Alisha T

Wow. Almost missed this beautiful spot, but was recommended by iHeartBikes to visit - so glad I did. Took a bike ride through the park. Beautiful views and trails. Easy to get through (one steep hill only). Trails are gravel and seem to be well maintained. Love the signs that document the history and environment features. Photos are of some views from this park. Would highly recommend visiting!

Sandy N Buchan

What can you say about this spot that hasn't already been said, a great park space, close to the water, great views, lots of people using the park, lots of dogo's, nice place to unwind and leave the city behind????

Michelle Hiltz

Beautiful spot for walkers of all types of life and of leash dog trails

JustAnotherGuy FromTheNorth

Best part about the South End are the glorious sites and sounds of nature that PPP provides. Woodpeckers, Squirls and all the friendly dogs in he neighborhood meet up here for some refreshing exercise.

Thiago Andrade

The best park I know in North America. Always a pleasure to go there.

Tina McGrath

If your going in a power wheelchair be careful of the lose rocks on the inclines. My tires would slide or just spine in these spots. There is also holes in the pathways that will get you stuck.

Scott Baker

This is a Nova Scotia Historic attraction and a beautiful walk for anyone who visits Halifax! This is a must see walk and experience

masajuna

Great park for walking around. There are a lot of old batteries and a tower. If you have Internet access there are qr codes with information. At one of the batteries some people were practicing King Lear for Shakespeare by the sea.

Jamal Alexander

I lived near the park for approximately two years and I spent most of my summers in the park. I ran, walked and chilled there through out the summer. The park grass were cut on time and the park was kept clean.

Denise Oakley

Walk or bike. Picnic. Enjoy.

Horizon Eye Photography

Amazing park. My best friend loves it here

Tim Dickinson

So peaceful, left natural, ocean views, trees, squirrels

Kaya Wiltshire

So many lovely trails deep in the forest, great place to run, beautiful spots to relax by the ocean. Awesome lil convenience store just outside the park that has really tasty spring rolls :)

Mitchell Slauenwhite

Nice place for a walk and an ice cream. Don’t come here if you don’t like dogs, they’re everywhere. Some were off leash but were extremely well behaved. One dog stopped and went to the side when she saw me, but of course being a dog person I went over and petted the dog ????. Nice water, lots of places to sit, I hear the Shakespeare by the sea is good, I fully intend to go.

Vistan Photography

Great large park with panoramic views of the Halifax Harbour. There is a small beach and lots of long walking trails. Plenty of green space, benches, and shade.....Lots of parking. Trails are well maintained and groomed. Great for All ages and abilities.

Love it!! Clean and nice, however a few more trash cans wouldn't hurt. And bring back the food shack. Otherwise we love it here ❤

Dale Rissesco

Lots of great trails for your walking pleasure, fantastic fort ruins and other buildings. Lots of space for adventure.

Crab Obc

Just so beautiful

Shaye Donald

Pembroke Welsh Corgi is definitely my favourite breed of dog if I had to choose between all of the dogs that are currently in existence today in the world. This is something I discovered while walking in Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia because a lot of dogs were running all over the place this way and that way and really all over the place if I was being honest about where the dogs were running. There were also other types of dogs but I forget what types there were because of how cute the Pembroke Welsh Corgi running around were and looking very becoming as far as animals go except perhaps for horses because some horses are very becoming especially the little ones which are known as ponies or if they are very small miniature horses. Point Pleasant Park is a great park to look at Pembroke Welsh Corgis. Do not go here if you do not like walking around because it is not allowed to have cars inside it.

Villagemayor

One of the premier attractions to visit while in Halifax. Easily several hours of hiking and exploring. Lots of friendly dogs, some are unleashed so be aware if you are afraid. Accessible by car or bus. You could walk from downtown but you should save your energy for walking in the park.

Masoud Aali

O, PP Park. I love you

Amber Dawkins

Beautiful park. Great trails. Fall is a gorgeous time of year to visit

Tim MacLeod

Great park with made trails perfect for runners or walkers. It is hilly so if you aren't very mobile it might be a bit tough to get around. Bikes are allowed only at certain times but dogs are allowed everywhere with certain trails being off leash.

Grace Olson

Great place to visit. Excellent spot for jogging in the morning as there's a large stretch of the path where you can run along the water. It's especially stunning in the fall with all the leaves changing colour in autumn. Please note this park has a huge off leash dog portion, so if you're afraid of dogs this isn't the place for you. I haven't found any washrooms with flushing toilets here, but there are outhouses throughout the park.

Quantum Creations

Absolutely beautiful !

Jennifer Overington

It's changed little since the 1970s. Some old huts are fenced off. The beach isn't recommended for swimming. The hot dog vendor is gone. The park still brings back memories.

Richard Dragaon

Nice park for a walk. Ocean view with historical sites in the park. Off-leash dog walking permitted before 10 AM

Trish May

Love this place especially when taking dogs for a walk..... Was there Jan 1st,2022 and there was a chicken wrapped in a towel and nothing else just coming out of the water..... Brrrrr idk about these polar bear swimmers they just crazy lol

Jodie-Lynn McMullen

Beautiful place for a walk and a picnic with lots of history along the trail.

Abena Danquah (Beany)

Best place for dog walks/ hikes. Water and bowls available for tired and thirsty at the beginning of trail. Sucks there’s a couple of leash areas but overall great time for dog

Jay Vagh

A really beautiful park in Halifax. It has a few National landmarks inside as well. Definitely should visit if you are in Halifax

Mihemed Mislim

Full season

Simon Gomez

Great spot right downtown to relax, have a picnic, go for a walk or run. Nice network of trails, with areas set aside for picnics complete with garbage cans and picnic tables and benches. There's a little beach by the parking lot at the end where the little ones (and all) can throw rocks into the water as long as they want!

Peter Church

Perfect for summer evening strolls.

Kim Salter

So nice to have a forest space in the city. Beautiful place for walking and enjoying the ocean views. Even has outdoor Shakespeare plays performed during the summer months. Parking lots and bus service - also easy to walk to - from downtown. Don't forget to have an ice cream available near both of the parking lots. Great place for picnics

Nishtha Rajpriya

Awesome place for strolls. Beautiful landscapes. Great place for dogs. It has areas where you can leave your dogs without leash. There are plenty of benches, all across the park for picnics. Great ocean views.

Cathy Puskas

Well worth visiting for locals or tourists. Wonderful harbour views as well as trails going inland. Being a tourist, it was enjoyable to do a walk through and see the local plants and some wildlife. There is an off leash dog area. A bus stops near an entrance to the park. We walked over from the pier/Farmers market - it was a bit of a trek and as you pass the dock, it is an industrial area and you may wonder if you're going in the right direction. It's a bit long, but it is an enjoyable walk. Once in the park, it's relatively busy.

Cassandra Baccardax

Always beautiful - blue Jay's were very busy and noisy :)

Cindy Harcourt

There are outhouses throughout the park but we did not come across any water fill up stations. Lots of different terrain for the casual to the fit!

Christine Paterson

Make sure to bring water with you because the park is huge!

Christine Paterson

Make sure to bring water with you because the park is huge!

Paul McDonald

The best place for a walk!

Brandy McIntosh

Love this park. The only complaint is that dog owners keep ignoring the signs for the "on-leash" areas. I have an allergy to dogs, and two children with anxiety who are afraid of dogs. I work hard to ensure controlled exposures for the kids, but it is difficult to establish trust with an anxious child when I assure them that the dogs are on leashes and then they come bounding over leash-free. Seriously impacts our ability to enjoy family time out of the home.

Susan Parker

Beautiful park at the edge of the city core. Great area for walking, biking, and dogs. Beach area and wooded trails around the old fortifications. Bathrooms on site and several bus stop locations.

Jay Jay

Great scenery and look offs

Kate MacLennan

Best nature space on the peninsula.

skottidogg10

Great park for walking trails and exploring a bit, some history as well. You can find a lot of spots where there's no one else around. Peaceful.

Andre Barthelotte

only place in downtown halifax open that has natural green space with walking trails. great view of the harbor.

Asrar Haq-Montford

Absolutley beautiful spot for a walk with your dog!

Marleah Corbin

I went specifically to see The Prince of Wales tower. The trails are wide and easy to walk on, and have post markers with their name. Without knowing exactly where I needed to go before hand I easily found the tower.

Chris Xu (Chris X.)

Without this park, the quality of half a million people's lives will likely to decline. This is how much significance it holds in the mind of an average Haligonian. Sure, it may not be capable of rivaling with the top national parks, but for a local, this is the Elysium.

Mike Weller

Great park to lose yourself but make sure you have the time because you may really get lost here.

Robert Muir

Simply one of the best things about Halifax

Allan Dunn

Perfect place to go for a nice walk, a short run (watch it for the hills) or to take your dog out. Hard to believe this park is right downtown Halifax - you'd swear you were out of the city entirely.

TImothy Klein

Nice place to walk dogs and see water at the shore. Couple of different trails, great for jogging. Nice place to explore!

Dylan Hynes

I occasionally wake up really early just to come out here at sunrise. Park is always clean and maintained. The landmarks are interesting and worth visiting. The walking trail itself is quite lovely around the fall.

Daniel “True902Scotian” Forsyth

Absolutely love this place ..when I was a kid we used to swim there .love all the old bunkers and cannons

Talita Talanski

Best Halifax park off leash for your dog.

Clay Nickerson

Always nice to go on a trail and get some fresh sea salt air.

Mary MacDonald

The best place to watch the ships come in.

Adam Deutsch

Point Pleasant Park is great, lots of doggos to pet, and everyone is usually fairly respectful of your space. Always a nice walk when the weather is good. Typically fairly busy though. Great for a good walk, jog, or bike ride.

Candice Grizzle

Most amazing spot to go with the family. Loved everything about it. Even found sea glass ????????

Michael MacAulay

Great park at the edge of the sea. Beautiful nature for walking, walking the dog taking a run or for a nice bike ride or picnicking.

Brittney Deveau

Fun night walk

Alloyd Kingston

Great views

Karen Shannon

Beautiful park, nicely recovered from the hurricane damage. Walking, jogging, ocean, open air theatre and off leash dog area. Bike riding is only at certain times. Two large parking areas. Clean and we'll maintained.

Andrew T

If you like walking up hills, this is the park for you! Sunday evenings between 5-8pm locals gather and show off their cars in the lower parking lot. Can be kind of hectic but HRP have been keeping a good eye on it this year.

Shelley MacKenzie

Great trails, dogs allowed, and there are trails for both on and off leash. Lots of walkers, and joggers enjoy this park.

Patrick “P-Goody” Gooden

Nature, ocean, history

Marlon Klasson

At first I couldn't believe that ALL the dogs were off leash! So many well behaved dogs and owners in a beautiful setting. Very clean as well.

Ricardo F

Great park for a walk in the middle of the woods. You can feel the smell of pines on the way. Washrooms are well kept and clean. Good to bring your fur buddy. Some parts of the park are off leash. Beautiful sights of Halifax bay. Bring your off road stroller or your baby carrier as it's a small stones path.

Sylvie Hutton

Beautiful trails and beach. Well worth the visit. There is an ice cream shop near the parking lot. Lovely treat after burning so many calories walking ????

Brandy Henry

It's nice to just sit and enjoy the view or take a little walk

David Meng

Great place, beautiful landscape and ocean view, multiple routes and enough length suitable for walking, running and cycling.

Minyoung Park

Historical place. I am good Walking and talking in here.

Bill Colbon

A great place to go for a walk

Doug Barton

Great place to take your dog for a walk and there are plenty of off leash areas. Small dog owners needn't worry there are no large animals of prey in the park (ie. Coyotes or bobcats).

Yulduz Khodjaeva

Nice place for walking, enjoying the view of the ocean

Stephen Horne

GREAT for biking. I recommend using the designated bike paths (which you have to use on weekends). There are some very steep hills when going off the bike paths (M-F). I recommend bringing food for a picnic or a snack as there didn't seem to be any places to purchase food on the psrk.

Tabitha Little

Always a good place to stop, lots of nice spots to walk around. Whenever I go to Halifax I always stop here!

Katie Paul

Great for walking your dog

Jitendra Sagare

Nice big park with sea shore facing. One can enjoy nature the most along with big Cruise ships at the port.

Ivan Zelko

Beautiful park for a stroll.

Shyann Clayton

Always a nice place to go, whether it be a nice walk with the dog or fellow friends, bike ride, sight seeing by the water or even a evening drive to go take a look at the cars that line up, the Halifax car scene is growing bigger n bigger every year. Love this place.

Allisson Santos

Beauty everywhere. Such a nice place to come with family.

Paul Creaser

Beautiful day for a visit. My battery died and some very helpful park workers were kind enough to give me a boost. Thanks to some kind neighbors I was able to get home and get my battery charged. Well done folks. #onlyinNS

Neil Matheson

This is a large beautiful park with many trails and ocean views. Attended cenotaph on November 11 for memorial to fallen service members with emphasis on the Navy and merchant marine casualities.

Eric zzstu Qin

Super nice place, big soccer field for the kids, good loot, kinda overpopulated

Danny Garon

Great place to walk a dog off leash. Love it.

Mike Thurston

Been going here for the past week to have lunch. Awesome!

thatsnailboi

I like this park, I have a lot of good memories there, the squirrels in the clearing near the beach are very comfortable with humans and will try to take your food, they are cute tho.

Daniel Rice

Walk along the harbour front and northwest arm. See ships coming and going, sailboats racing, and squirrels galore. Great for a family stroll, or a jog, or a picnic.

Shereef Marzouk

Brilliant park I wish the dog owners would be a little responsible though

ToadGamer

Its pretty good because its not just forest its also forts and stuff

Stewart Walsh

Doesn't get much nicer

Roman Malik

This is a very nice park with beach and trail

Nureldin Madreed

I like this place because it's a wonderful place to have eaten walking, sit in front of the water I nominate this place for families.

Vicky Papuga

A huge, well-maintained park with so many dogs to coo to and love. I also saw more squirrels in here than I've seen in all of NS since moving from ON! Walking trails are fantastic and there are many choices with hours worth of walking (or running, or cycling; whatever floats your boat). Places by the water offer lovely places to stop and relax and have a picnic.

Mohd arafat

One of the nicest places in canada

Andre Sousa

Nice and well maintained park

Roberto Carlos Torres Ayala

It is fine but I don't like it on winter

Logan Lawrence

Great place to walk... especially if you love dogs!

Madison Whynot

Very beautiful, best place to have a morning coffee

Deep Pâtél

The most amazing and a calm place. Can be good enough from a simple walk or a jog to a group gathering or a picnic. The calm breeze of the seashore wind is really amazing and very mind blowing.

Kurt Hershey (Kurtastrophe)

It's much larger than you'd think, with a network of hidden trails that can almost make you feel like you're exploring this wood alone. For the most part, however, the trails are wide and well-maintained, lined with plenty of benches and trash cans. Large off-leash areas for dogs ensure there are always a lot of dogs during the warmer seasons. There are waterside parks and sandy beach areas as well, looking over the ocean. There are also historical military buildings that are fascinating to tour. Really, there's something for everyone, it's such a nice park. Just make sure you keep an eye on your kids, you can definitely get lost in here.

Thomas Rogers

This is a wonderful destination for walking, seeing nature or the sea. Any season makes it a nice trip and the majority of the part is easy for people of all ages and mobility to enjoy. It also contains several historical areas including old coastal defenses and the memorial for the Battle of the Atlantic. Lots of public parking available as well including access to water/beaches. Dogs can be off leash at certain times of the day but other times they should be on leash.

Joe Cheng (joeFNcheng)

They had the annual Royal Canadian Navy Battle of the Atlantic parade there today. What an amazing sight and experience and tribute to the brave Canadians who endured much hardship in the great war, some giving the ultimate sacrifice.

Maryann K

Was a beautiful place to walk with the kids and dog

Kathryn C

Very muddy in the spring but we still had a nice walk

Prisha

it was a nice place but is different from the pictures... nice place to visit with friends or family.if you have some kind of animal allergy its recommended not to go because animals are unleashed

Rachael Thompson

Great place to take a relaxing walk in the heart of a busy city. Signage is a bit poor, and washrooms can be hard to find. Easy to spend hours wandering around exploring different sights great historic items, and a beautiful view of Percy's cove at Percy's landing.

Niravkumar Patel (Yogi)

The park is a nice place to go for a walk.

Frank Johnson

Great work out in nature, have a picnic, clear your mind. Beautiful Area!!!!!

Oneblueone Brown

Great park! Off leash so the puppier can run and play!

Amrit Richardson

This is a nice, well kept park for public use. Its open in places for off leash dog walking, one of the few dog friendly places in Halifax. Old trees, nice open grassy fields, and little historic sites dot the landscape. It takes about 45 minutes to walk around and there are bathrooms throughout. A great spot for a picnic and some photos of the harbour, ships, and surf. I do wish that they could clean up the beach on the port side as it is not friendly for beach goers.

Hugo Medeiros

Great place for walking and running. Well marked trails full of trees, birds and squirrels. It is one of the top places to visit in Halifax.

Jolly Roger

It's almost a one-fits-all park for me and my family. We could came here for simply a walk, or we could also enjoy a bike ride, a nice and good frisbee throw or just being here for sky or ocean gazing. Fur families are welcome and off-leash is located in the designated kind of central area of the park. There are a couple of beaches here too, but not like the sandy beach we usually picture in mind.

Amethyste Gregory

It's so nice and peaceful walking there and the kids love exploring the "castles" :)

Tanya Hatfield

Beautiful park anytime of the year.

Máté Roman

A walk in the city, but with trees, yes please!

It’s a beautiful spot with lots of great views. Anything such as walking, running, biking or even running a dog can be possible because the park has wide paths and is well maintained. It’s a nice place to get away from the city although it’s located in the city, Halifax.

I lived in Halifax for almost 5 years. If I could only pick one place to miss about the city, it would be Point Pleasant Park. Absolute treasure for all Haligonians and visitors to enjoy. PhD in Chemistry, Dalhousie University (2016-2021).

Daniel White

Love the park. Quiet and peaceful place to walk, explore and reflect

Heather Dzioba

A great place to walk your dog off leash with a variety of trails that criss cross over the park. There are some limitations such as no dogs on the Shore Rd after 10 a.m.

sujit george

Nice place to relax and have a peaceful time away from city rush and buildings

K

Like a mini Stanley Park. Or a Stanley Park before it became so busy. Nice place to hang out and go for walks. Dog friendly. Oh, and they got Shakespeare by the Sea in the summer time too. People are mostly pretty chill around here. Really like this little sanctuary in the city.

Cleadus Fetus

This is a very nice place to walk hike or bike. It's very safe all hours of the day and night. Not nearly as many trees since the 2009 hurricane. Can see star at night from the end of the park.

David Andrick

Love long walks all around this park...

Lee Bishop

Wonderful scenery and history! Courteous people and very well behaved dogs...even off leash! Loved the forest and the waterfront. Paths are well maintained and very large to accommodate all.

BohoBabe

This an amazing park. There are so many walkways and paths, if you go during the week there aren't that many people. But I love watching all of the dogs running around and going for a swim. Another site to see on the east side of the park is the shipping harbour. You can walk up to the cranes and watch them loading ships and since Halifax has one of the world's deepest ports, they have really large ships checking in.

Jim Jim

Plenty of trails to walk around, dog friendly, many different landscapes and cool historic ruins ????????

Mairi MacDonald

Walking trails amongst old large trees overlooking the Ocean. Perfect for dog walking and an afternoon picnic or exploring the monuments around the park.

Lemuel Smith

Lovely well maintained walking paths and beautiful views. Dog friendly, hike, jog, bike your way along the paths. Great areas to picnic as well.

Peter Fleming

Great place to go for a walk, picnic, bike ride. There are nice crushed gravel trailed and open grass areas.

alan mantolino

Beautiful trails that rival any in nova scotia. Highly recommend.

Pat Riley

By the harbor is a place that I thought I would enjoy, but of late I have really started to love this place. The view is amazing.

Paul Neals

Love the quiet! Don't like multiple Dogs off lease in areas!

Roger Bell

Walked the park on a beautiful, sunny day in September. The park is well maintained and obviously very popular among locals and visitors alike. Interesting historical installations are among the beautiful and amazing sights. While being dog friendly, owners seemed to be very responsible and courteous. Didn't have a single issue with an unwanted encounter. To enjoy outdoor physical activity in Halifax, make sure Point Pleasant Park is on your list!

Anees sait

Close to downtown..... ideal place for a weekend family outing with food in tow.

Wilfred Richard

Beautiful and serene.

Magnificent place. Nice for jogging, walking , have a picnic or just to contemplate nature. A must go place in beautiful Halifax

Frank Phillips

Another great place outside to enjoy

Shelley Mansel

Great to meet friends outside during Covid times.

Sherry Battiste

An awesome bit of nature in downtown! Love walking the various trails no matter the weather ????.

marg mcmillan

Can anything be done about the sad condition of the outhouses at Point Pleasant Park? I was shocked when I had to use one last Sunday. It's a smear on our lovely city and highly unsanitary - bad for tourists coming this summer for tall ships, etc.

Philip Townsend

I enjoyed a coffee while talking with some friends yesterday. There is so much to do and see at Point Pleasant Park. If you haven't been there before you should make it a point to go.

John Hegenbarth

Always a pleasure to be in the park.. Waterside is nice and normally cool. The centre of the park is always warmer. Note of caution;watch your pets for ticks and don't let them drink water, as there are diseases in the water...

Gary Harris

Easy to walk

Annette Joe

An awesome place to sip on a coffee watch the boats or take a long stroll

Wendy Murray

Huge seaside park with many forest trails and smaller paths right in the city of Halifax. You can walk from there to the Halifax waterfront with its really long, interesting boardwalk past ships, yachts, gourmet restaurants, and smaller food places and icecream stands .

Richard Merrington

Lovely little park with some nice views out onto the water

Patricia MacDonald

I used to love going to this park. It saddens me to see all of the dog poop along the trails (both in bags and not). It is still a beautiful park but having to constantly watch for dog poop has ruined it for me. There are other parks and trails that are much cleaner. It is really too bad :(

Rosilyn Isnor

Great place for walking and cycling.

A Goyette

It's a lovely park overlooking the harbour. Plus a few nice trails to walk or bike. The only thing missing is a food truck! ????

Drew D

Nice park, well maintained, alot of dog owners aren't following the on-leash/off-leash rules, due to lack of enforcement. Quite populated on weekends

Kelly James

Beautiful scenery. Peaceful. Walking trails.

Sybil Nunn

Point pleasant park is a treasure. Huge park with 90% being off leash for dog lovers. Ruins of forts and a Martello Tower. Located at the tip of the Halifax peninsula facing the open ocean.

Peggy Matheson

A very rewarding time "out of the city". Relaxing look at history & nature. Great place to take many wonderful photographs while breathing in the extreme peacefulness of the "country in the city". A great area to relax & roam whether you want to explore the historical Seaman's Way, The Prince Tower, have a picnic, walk your pet (some araes are designated leash to be used and other araes you are permitted to allow your dog to be off leash), bike the trails, sit on a beach, feed the squirrels or just take in the breath taking view, one would not be disappointed.

Sreejata Chatterjee

One of the best things about Halifax! Hills and ocean and wilderness feel right in the heart of the city. Always something new to explore.

Tom Grantham 999

This was my " backyard " growing up. It is full of history. Good walking & bicking trails and a duck pond that I played hockey on in Winter when I was young . Flaked by Hfx. HARBOUR on one side and The North West Arm on the other. Old forts,( one of which is use for Shakespeare by the Sea summer productions) , many labelled trees planted from different places. You can walk the perimeter in less than an hour. My friend lived there when he was young in one of the old Army barracks. Some one had a great vision 100 or more years ago to make this a PARK FOR THE PEOPLE . Thank to those with that foresight!! A must place to see in Halifax.

Harsh Parmar

Beautiful place to visit.

Paul Francis

Beautiful place to walh the paths and see some wildlife , peaceful friendly, gteat for families. Picinic tables , washrooms, and eveb a little history

Dan Campbell

Do nice to have a park like this one so close to Halifax. A peaceful park that makes you feel like you are far from the city. The small trails that go into the woods are great. Good spot if you have a dog as many of the secondary trails are off lease areas.

Pamela Jean

Lots of green space. Many walking trails. Groomed paths . Historical builings to see. Birds to feed. And squirrels also. Dog friendly paths for pet owners. My favorite place in the city.

Keith M

Awesome Park, great views and lots of history from the last few hundred years. Absolutely a must visit for any nature lovers or outdoorsy person. In the summer they do free productions of Shakespeare and other plays. Definitely recommended

Becca LeRiche

Ended up here by happy accident! Beautiful property, clean and very well maintained. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of the main map, this place is massive and the many trails may get you lost like we did. Very fun adventure!

Sarah B

Wonderful place for a walk with lots of different trails and history. It's also a great spot to sit in your car on a stormy day and watch the waves crash onto the rocks and the beach

Luce Fortin

Very nice park in Halifax. You can bike and bring your dog some days of the week.

Robinson Lee Myers

Great trails for running and walking.

Stan Beland

Beautiful green space close to downtown. Essentially connected to seaport market and boardwalk via the port. Lots of trails, off leash areas for pooches.

BL Smith

Great walking paths. Lots of nice views. Very busy on a sunny Sunday morning.

Dmitri Ivanov

If you live in Nova Scotia then chances are you've heard of point pleasant park. This is a very pleasant park to walk your dogs at or if you're just looking to go for a run. The park is not as majestic as it was before Hurricane Juan but it is still pleasant.

Robowsky Jetson

Had a small picnic very romantic and beautiful.

Mark MacDonald

Nice park, excellent walking trails. Watch were you step... lots of dog waste not picked up by owners.

Juanita Drayson

The off leash area is great for dogs- just be aware some people who walk through the off leash area are either not aware it is off leash or they hate dogs- one guy tried to hit my dog with a walking stick- I gave him the stink eye and he got my message loud and clear. Our girls love- oh and be sure your dog is licensed- I have heard the fines can be heafty

Darcy Marshall

Beautiful park. There is an off the dog area, beautiful views. The only thing I wish they had was light at night.

Bernard Stone

Beautiful park . I'm very pleased that the gates are now open until 10 pm . Used to close the gates at 8 pm. Not sure who's idea that was but it was reduciouls .

heather fitzgerald

A gorgeous day to be enjoying crisp autumn air, the smell of the ocean, and brilliant leaves

Jeremy Cooper

This is a little bit of piece right in the middle of the city. Lots of doggies to pet and pretty views. It is a little crowded, but hey, sign of a great place.

steven crabbe

Pleasant place for a stroll. Bah dum tis!!!

Pavlos Skarvelis

The park is really beautiful, as to is the beach and memorial anchor. Lots of space for dogs and running! The only part that was unpleasant was the smell, but that's expected.

Wanda Bryks

Once to walk around between volleyball games. It advertises swimming so we took the toddler there but it has a big sign saying not advised to go swimming. We still enjoyed our walk and looking out at the water and boats

M Smith

I always find antique bottles and such in the woods ♡ please everyone stop littering; leaving dog bags, tim cup, mac wrappings, and masks where ever you please. Keep our lovely park clean thank you ♡♡♡♡

mehnaz mahmood

Park is very beautiful. We went to the chain rock beach, and our kids were playing in the water. We noticed few cuts on their hands and feet after. There were a lot of sharp shells we noticed after. There should be a sign there perhaps that beach area is not really appropriate for playing in water or swimming and footwear should always be worn. I wish there was some sign for this when we went.

Stealth Eyes

Awesome time. Recommended for anyone looking to go walking or running or just to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life.????????????

hu mao

It is very close to the city and the seaside scenery is very good. It is a good place for leisure.

The park has been through a lot with a hurricane a decade ago, and a pine beetle hitting the trees. It will be a while until is looks like it did 25 years ago. But it is on its way back and is absolutely an iconic Halifax site to visit, read the monuments, walk the dog, enjoy the forest, and watch the big ships pulling in and out of the harbor.

rodge peters

Excellent place to go for a walk in the woods. Great view of water. Take your time and bring a lunch.

Gillom McNeil

Point pleasant is a special place. My partner and I recently adopted a dog, and our regular routine is to start our mornings with a walk through Point Pleasant with some coffee and our pup. If you are a dog owner, be wary of the restriction on the boardwalk after 10am.

Jon Parkhill

Great park to explore, it's quite large so you can have a different walk each time you visit. Beautiful ocean views and close to the downtown

Peter Stroud

Lovely trails, view of Halifax harbour Historic old forts

John Metzgar

Great place for an afternoon walk, bicycle ride, or run. Bring your dog! Plenty of off leash areas and little trails to discover. Nice beach, monuments, views, and wildlife everywhere.

Loyal Ali

Great park! Lots of trails to choose from with great views. Main trails are well maintained and local folk who use the park on a daily basis are quite friendly! Multi use trails (bikes, runners, walkers, dogs) so use caution and share the trail.

T

Great park for a nice stroll. Beautiful trail right by the ocean for a great view on a warm day.

Jason Bradley

A priceless resource for all to get their exercise in , whether walking a dog ,hiking or biking . Especially in winter a spring we all need and truly value a place such as Point Pleasant

Sean of the Oaks

This has been one of my favorite places for decades. A wooded peninsula on the ocean with several kilometers of walking trails. On a good day you can see seals playing offshore. Great place to unwind and center yourself.

Tim of free thought

I grew up in Halifax and have always LOVED PPP. It's location is close to down town in a beautiful cosy water front city . The park is wonderful for romantic walks with your best friend , there are plenty of trails which are well maintained . The trees are tall and lovely and water surrounds you on three sides .The views are beautiful and it's easy to find a private spot for a picnic .

Ron Lynch

Nice trails and off leash trails for our canine friends.

Khushbu Joshi

I love trail along the sea shore

Susan Borden

We use to go all the but since the renovation we went twice

chris woodworth

Great place to visit a d great trails to walk

Andrew Conrod

Point pleasant park is a wonderful place to bring your family, run, bring your dog. It's one of only a few off leash dog parks.

KOLINA

Favorite place to de-stress, love the views of the arm, and encounters are friendly

Gururaja SR

A great place for walkers, joggers and Dogs. Children too would love safe and open spaces to freely stroll. However lack of sufficient restrooms and toilets with hygienic flush is a great letdown. Toilets are really dirty and are a black spot on otherwise a great place. A coffee shop cum convenience store nearby would add value to the place.

Debbie McNeil Rutz

Fantastic day, lots of people and dogs. Just would've been nice to walk along the container pier (gate was closed)

Ron Ewing

If you enjoy long hilly walks or have a dog then this is the place.

Mike Woods

Nice place to walk and nice views.

Mayank Vg

Sherry Eccleston

Pam Plant

Love the trails and had a bathroom

Mike Kipper

Lina Lee

It is very good place to take a walk with my dog.

Lavanya Sundararajan

Pleasant park to go with friends and family. Beach at the end is awesome and we can bbq or eat some home brought food sitting in the benches in front of the beach. It's so mind-blowing.

Kyle Lucas

Great place for a walk and its a off leash dog park until 10am! Beautiful views and some great history there as well.

Mike Spencer

Beautiful relaxing stop , anything can happen around you such as helicopter or swimming in December

Jenn t

This place is so beautiful! It's peaceful and a great place to walk, run, take your dog, have family picnics!! Love it!!!!

Howard MacKinnon

Pleasant place to spend an afternoon.

Craig Beckman

What better place to drag a cooler bag to and enjoy a picnic lunch on a beautiful day with the salty Summer breeze. There is so much good energy here. We are lucky to have this area in Halifax : )

Terri Rideout

Point Pleasant is a gem with a variety of trails types and sights. I feel blessed to have this park in Halifax.

Darlene Hart

Wonderful walk on a perfect weather day. Water glistening, sail boats in the arm. Well maintained trails.

Marylin Rheault

Beautiful park for running, biking or going for a walk. The beaches are beautiful. The Prince of Wales tower should also not be missed. Many people take their dogs there and there and it is allowed for them to be without leashes within a certain portion of the park.

Judy Sullivan

A nice walk around near the water. A little hilly near the middle of the park.

Michael Himmelman

A beautiful park chalk full of history

Kiran Thomas

A very nice and quiet place to rewind

M T

SAD Halifax of a once great PARK!.Oh and the toliet faculties if they are working havent been updated since 1945! But enough money to have animal control people roaming around in their truck to fine you if you get on to the wrong trail! SO Halifax!

Rebecca Silvert

Just a perfect place to be dog walking, running, or strolling along the sea. A rich network of trails, some connecting historic forts and monuments. Lovely areas for picnicking, swimming, or just relaxing and watching the ducks play. Fantastic views of the harbour, harbour mouth, and NW Arm. If you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of the Bluenose. Most paths are stroller or bike friendly. Ample parking at both upper and lower lots, the lower has a seasonal canteen and there is a corner store just outside the upper lot, ice cream cones available!

Jeremy Fillmore

Relatively poorly managed park land - At least it's yet to become unprotected and sold to developers.

Kelly Hodgson

Beautiful view with great walking trails. Lots of nature and benches for relaxing. There is off leash trails

Keshav Prasad

Walked dogs with a lovely lady who showed us dog-friendly paths. Headed down to the water, wonderful view.

Theresa Reid

Gret walking trails and views! A good way to spend an early morning. The park is very busy with lots of joggers and people walking, but not so much that you csnt enjoy yourself. The trails are well groomed and don't require any major footwear. Saturday and Sunday mornings before ten am dogs are allied off leash on the front walkway by the ocean, so be prepared for a sea.of animals.

Geralt of Rivia

The perfect fusion of history and nature.

Ted Gibbon

Very moving. I served with many of the sailors and Naval Aviators whose names are listed on the plaques. Good to see a part of my former home, Bonaventure, displayed and continuing to serve her Ship's Company.

Jennifer Perry

Point pleasant park is a beautiful park to walk

Cody Crocock

Beautiful park! Great place to bring the dog or to just explore

P Pahl

Love the fact that there are so many dogs here and they can walk off leash in certain areas! Beautiful park and friendly/happy atmosphere. This is such a great place to be in Halifax.

Aneta W

Lovely park to walk around. Got lost a few times. Got to tour the center fort for free! That was pretty cool

deep brar

Amazing

Doug Ward

Great park, lots of trails for hiking, walking, running, dog walking, & cycling. For all ages & skill level. Great View by the water, a lot of memorials to check out. Threw out the park there are benches & picnic tables to have lunch, read, or just to sit & watch nature's beauty. A must see if you are in the area & have an hour or two to spare.

Lisa Church

Beautiful day at PPP today.

Susan Arbing

Point Pleasant is a treasure, especially during Covid. You don't have to wear a mask, people are generally in a good mood and my dog likes to be offleash. Triple win!

Ray Wortman

Great public space. Not impressed by the dogs running off leash, they should be limited to a fenced area, not running loose on public paths - not everyone likes dogs. It really detracts from the experience.

sharon kelly

Point Pleasant Park, is a wonderful place. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. It's relaxing and a great place to walk your fur babies and a perfect place to run into old friends ????

Gavin Douglas

Wonderful place to go for a jaunt, walk, or run!

Robert Myles

We attended Shakespeare by the Sea and had a wonderful time. However you might want to book the golf cart if you have any physical limitations. It's a long walk

TheyTarget

Generally nice park, with the only exception being large crowds.

Jaime Woolstencroft

Pleasant point is always pleasant. Great place to meet dogs.

Bob Armstrong

Great time of year to be walking in the Park. Many felt that way as the Park was busy.

Hayk Karapetyan (Will)

This park is very beautiful. A great jogging location. A few spots are good for fishing. The only downside is that BBQ is not allowed. Otherwise it is a great park with a lot of history.

A S

Biggest park on the peninsula by far, very scenic with shoreline and forest. Mini rocky beach on the shoreline where you can take a quick fairly private dip if you're willing to look for it. Grills for public use - stay left along the shoreline path. Well marked. Great for off leash walks but watch the signage - you will get checked by other park users for having an off leash dog in a no-go zone.

Pedro Neumann

Great place for jogging, dogs, bikes...

jung y

wonderful place to take a walk with nice ocean view. there is a leash free zone for dogs. if you are a new commer, you can use google map that can show you even paths.

keegan sheffield

Point pleasant park is one of the nicest places to visit in Halifax for the summer. Great for dog walking, or dog watching if you can not afford a dog. Lots of well kept trails for an almost endless posibility of running routes. Lots of seating for lunch/picnic dates. It is also right next to the water, which is calm and peaceful. For sure a must visit spot on a hot sunny Halifax day, and they do not come often.

Ryan Yates

A very nice and large park to spend a good weather day visiting. There is a lot to see, from the black rock beach you can go along the shoreline trail and there are multiple monuments set up remembering naval persons lost during the wars and on operations. There is also a series of old bunkers that were constructed along the edge of the water that are now just display purposes. Also and old mini tower and a place where they do pen park theatre now and the. is very cool.

Meghan

Beautiful nature park in downtown Halifax. Perfect way to escape the busyness of the city and to re-connect with nature. Beautiful walking trails, and dog friendly!

Anna M

Beautiful maintained park. Just note that there are a lot of areas dedicated to off leash dogs, so if you don't like dogs it's not the place for you. So lovely any time of year.

Scott Laking

Such a lovely place! The dogs love it here!
