If you are to camp here...it is FANTASTIC!!!! Relaxing, but if you are looking for swimming pools and someone to entertain u...its not the place for u
Great camping sites. Been going there since I'm a kid. Nice beach also. Down side you have to buy their wood 8$ for a bag of 8 short logs!!!! Also the showers don't have really hot water. The water is not cold but cold enough to give you shivers going in and then your get acclimated. Wish the water was hotter. Just a few degrees. Clean toilets and showers depending on time of day you go. Twice in the weekend had no toilet paper in the toilet, needs a bit more rounds to check this. That's why I'm giving 4 stars, almost gave 3 but I like this campground.
This place is very pretty and as close to nature as can be. Campsites are mostly intimate and well surrounded by trees. However, showers and bathrooms are neglected. The floors are always dirty. We had cold showers, there seemed to be no hot water. On week ends, neighbours are loud and the curfew is not enforced by security. Price goes up every year and we believe that we pay much more than what it is worth.
Hey Parks Canada! How about you teach your employees about customer service? Went here this week (early June) and any employee that "helped" us that was female and under 25 had an attitude problem. We're not in high-school anymore and if you don't like your job then don't bother showing up. Want seclusion? A waterfront site? Then as much as it looks like it'll be do not go to milles Roche main campground every site is on a slope. Which as you know is not conducive to having a good night's sleep. Oh and thanks so much to the staff for cleaning the bathroom at peak hours and barring people from going in. Showers are open at 815? Well I suggest you clean the place before that cause there's gonna be an influx of people round opening time. My wife was told no she couldn't go to the bathroom and it would "only" be 10 mins and then she could use the facilities. Anybody else would seen she desperately needed to go and obliged. It's funny these days you have to teach employees what should really be common sense and courtesy. Never stepping foot on this part of the Long Sault again.
Place is OK. Close to some larger centers so the get the city campers. The good: clean washrooms and showers, sites are a decent size, lots of bush. The bad: many tent sites are at a 30 percent grade, very expensive, additional money grab when you book on line. Because of that, I probably won't be back. They could try pea gravel rather than that nasty crushed stone for camping spots. We were in the 1st area to camp and the water front was a swamp. Update: I did see quite a few from Montreal. New Canadians and probubly new to camping. It was nice to see them embracing a Canadian tradition. They were all polite and respectful of the noise levels. A people my fellow Canadians could learn from.
Watch out for Ranger Wendy.. Oh wait no need to... before ya know It she ll be on your lot making sure ya ain't disturbing the empty lots infront of you. Lol Just got back yesterday from spending a weekend away with friends camping we were a large group which when booking was mentioned and that we would be reserving 6 lots. If your planning on being a big group make sure to ask about the bird sanctuary area apparently it's for larger groups and doesnt disturb Ranger Wendy as much.
I really like this camping spot, for its accessibility, activities, and island style setup. Its not a place for parties and late drinking event, more a place to disconnect and have some family fun.
Clean, decent facilities, fairly priced boat rentals, made for a fun day at the beach.
A super clean and calm area. Very well maintained, friendly staff, I will come back
Amazing Camp. Spots near the river are the absolute best
Great family campground all the amenities needed beaches are clean and well maintained
Nice campground though some campers are loud, rude and leave their waste around! If you experience this, report them and you can be sure the management will take care of them promptly. Please be civilized when camping. It is not a party place but a site to enjoy nature...
Amazing views...Nice and quiet on weekdays. Loud parties on weekends.
The camp site was great. No raccoons which was a big plus. Would have been nice to have a few more showers on site. Beach is terrific as well.
Camping is in a beautiful place, scenery is great, I'd give 5 stara but the showers and bathroom are disgusting. There is not hot water in the 6 or 8 showers for the whole campground. They didn't have any firewoods. Nice camping for the scenery but not for staying the night. Would not recommend to anyone.
Great campground! The only issue is that some of the water front sites have a slope Middle ones are fine. Staff are always great and facilities always well kept ????
Very nice private sites. Great water access. A bit disappointed by all the broken glass lying around. Not enough toilets or showers on the weekend.
We stayed here over the Canada Day long weekend (2021) and it was a wonderful experience. The campground was well managed and super clean. The noise level was dead quiet after 11pm. The young students working in the office were super eager …
Camped here last year and had an okay time. Site was super slanted (cant remember which one but it was waterfront), waterfront was super disappointing.. tons of glass all over the waters edge and the super rocky shore. When I alerted multiple staff members they shrugged me off. Not very helpful at all. Campground is laid out weird. Sites were pretty small. Garbage was left on multiple sites (some in garbage bags, some not) and didnt get cleaned up by nightfall which attracted many raccoons who faught throughout the night. Definitely wouldn't go back.
Nice park with good campsites. Only complaint is booking online is more difficult than need be.
Nice campground. ⛺ & camper lots available. Also lots with water and/or electricity. Well maintained, prices from on-site" store are quite expensive, but to be expected. Shaded lots are beautiful.
Fire ban, we booked a site for 2 days way in advance. They never informed us prior to us driving 2 hours to get there and then upon registry that there was a fire ban. We found out after buying wood and making a fire. Who goes camping and doesn't want a fire. It's horrible. We stared at a candle all night and got attacked by racoons.
Nice camping, but the bathrooms are dirty and insufficient. You have to wait a long time to take a shower.
Beautiful area!
Loved the setting and access to the area. Long Sault Parkway is a fabulous drive and the sunsets are outstanding. Park facilities are pretty standard for a Provincial campsite. Loved the area
Cool place. Lake view is amazing especially in the nights.
Need a domp station at the front of campground. So when you leave you don't have to drive to the island
Even wen there is rain it is awesome!!
Great spot for family camping...very laid back and relaxing!
We went here to camp for 2nights.great camp ground.
I’ve been here once before with little issue. However, this weekend was a disaster because of their horrible management. When we arrive at 9:30pm with 2 young children, we were told that one of our 2 side by side sites was double booked (we asked why we were not contacted when they realized the error earlier in the day), and offered a different one across the campground. The other site is for my mother, who never camps. They offered a future reimbursement, but wanted to charge us for the extra vehicle since we decided to camp on 1 site together instead of 2 sites very far from each other. When I refused, the WARDEN (Wendy) mocked my hand gestures, and used her own hand gestures to insinuate that I was “stirring” up trouble. They ended up tell me to “just take” my extra parking permit. Their showers are dirty, although free. There is ONE bathroom building per island. And ONE water tap per island (excluding sites that have water). The wood is grossly overpriced ($8 for 8pieces), and it is basically children who work here, except the warden (who is horribly unprofessional). There are some wayerfront sites where the swimming is decent, but many that are swampy. Will probably NOT come back here, I was greatly disappointed!!
Mille Roches Campground has become our favorite camping destination. The grounds are well maintained, the camp sites are clean and well appointed and the shower and toilet facilities are excellent. What really makes Mille Roches Campground a great place to camp though is the staff. Everybody is friendly and professional. Finally, the fact that there is such a great beach so nearby really puts the cherry on top.
Family loves it here..so many waterfront camp sites!
wonderful spot! the campsites are super private and the waterfront sites are PERFECT. staff is also lovely and very accommodating! if there was ONE thing so complain about it would be the number/location of the water fountains, not the MOST convenient but certainly nothing that isn’t manageable????
Amazing campground. Right on St Lawrence.
It was great
What a great campground, we wanted a true camping experience and it felt so great to get away from the normal.
It was ok.. Good price. But if you are looking to get a good swim in this isn't the place. Was very disappointed
Beautiful, place all around friendly staff, perfect for the whole family to enjoy ????????
a bit crowded, but clean and very well located! great place overall.
This will always be my favorite place to camp
Our favourite family getaway!!! There are other islands for party people or tailor campers etc... absolute heaven!
Beautiful scenery
Nice view
We had a lot off the water. Awesome view. Nice staff. Good beach. The sand isn't smooth, but you can rent kayaks and boards for watersports and very fair prices. There was a thunderstorm on one of the nights of our stay. Careful with the lots off the water. We definetely didn't expect that kind of wind!
I have to give this place a 5. Honestly yes some nights it gets a little loud but honestly this isn't the outback woods kinda camping. Amazing water front sites and the views around the park are worth the 6 hour drive for my wife and I. It's a yearly weekend trip for us.
Had fun. No mosquitoes by the water... Why? Not that it's a bad thing but do they spray it..? ????
Really nice
Great place if you pick the right spot. Bathrooms are far and have lineups
Campsite was okay, we got a shaded area which was nice in the heat. However there was a lack of bathrooms, and they weren’t very clean (went around 9pm and last time they were checked was 1:15). Also there is only one shower, and the campsite is split on two islands, and so if you’re on the other island it’s a far ways from your site.
Great place on the St. Lawrence river. Unfortunately I had a bad experience. Washrooms were disgusting, garbage everywhere. The staff wasn’t Pleasant, I had particularly bad experience with a female supervisor/ranger who though she had more authority than she actually does, very rude and a little upsetting. Not coming back
Only good campsites are at the tip of the island facing SE. Very bug infested on the lake front site and slopey camp sites facing the lake. Store and washroom facilities are excellent. Fishing is very slow but lots of baby small mouth bass. Big carps surfacing if you can catch them. Over all not bad if you don't mind the slopey and bug infested sites.
Privacy between lots is amazing, friendly staff, many activities for children and best of all, many waterfront sites that will fit your needs.
re: mille roches camping. This is a really nice camping, lots of trees and for many water views BUT booking there is like playing at the casino: will you be the lucky ones that can enjoy your experience in nature? or will you be unlucky like we were and ended up being forced to listen to our neighbor’s music from morning til night. Radio, boombox etc are allowed as long as the volume doesn't get too loud: Even if you are lucky and your neighbor keeps the volume low, with the proximity, you still can hear it , we were even made to listen to commercials!! Most rustic parks like this one have opted to forbid music all together. After all, there were about only 1 and 10 sites wilh their radio/music on. Why then spoil the experience of 90% of their clientele who come to be in nature. Imagine if everyone played their music? we actually saw 2 adjoining sites with their music on, one latino the other one rock ! We really loved the place but unless they protect us from this noise pollution we won’t ever book there again. Hard to understand why the managers would allow the added pleasure of a few spoil it for all the true nature lovers.
Many of the sites are small, uneven, some sites are suitable for larger RV trailers. Still has lots of good points, beach just across from the campground.
beautiful place. Really nice, but bring your earplugs because trains pass all throughout the night. that's the only downside to this place.
Super weekend so beautiful we will for sure be back was calm after 11h we had a fantastic weekend
Nice place but I can only give it 4 stars because of a lack of bathrooms
Beautiful, clean beach with lots of water activities. Many sites have beach access. Wi-Fi only works if you are close to the tower.
Nice campgrounds, clean bathrooms and showers, great view on the waterfront lot. Beaches are clean and lots to do.
I will never stay at this campground again. First reason being that the line up to check in is ridiculous sometimes. 2. There is one washroom for each men and women for the entire campground. The walk can be very far from some campsites. 3 There is always a line up for the showers.4 most lots are very uneven and have a poorly placed fire pit, sometimes directly against and or under a tree. 5. The beach is always overcrowded and they don't enforce the rules of no kayaks, paddle boards or dingys within swimming area. 6th you get in trouble almost instantly for making any noise past 10! God forbid you have a fun night while you're camping.. The entire campground is overcrowded.
Getting training for dog sledding
It was my first time going camping here and we really enjoyed it! Such a beautiful area with great views! Definitely will be going back again soon ????
Lots of Fun for everyone. Loved our site.
The water front sites are nice. Too bad the closed the other comfort station on the main island though.
Nice facility, sites at water are steeper than shown in photos, because of an elevated road. Registration is at the store so buying Firewood means waiting in line. The closest off property firewood is about 3km.
Beautiful beachfront campsite. We will be back! Great day beach as well!
We love this campsite. Perfect place to take the kids and connect with nature. Beautiful views!
