DESCRIPTION

Here you will be able to see all the information of real people who are consuming the services and products of Cape Merry (Park) near Churchill (Canada).

Nowadays the firm has a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and that score was based on 67 reviews.

You must have seen that its rating is practically the top, and it is based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the assessment is very accurate. If there are many people who bothered to give their opinion when they've done well, is that it works.

As you know, we do not usually bother to set scores when these are good and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...

This Park is included in the category of Historical landmark.

We were limited on time but made a stop here to quickly explore. Next time I will make sure to further indulge in the history of this post. Make sure you're with a guide though as there is much to learn and polar bear safety is always needed.

Beautiful view from the point

Rob Collins

Beautiful, yet brisk. There are a plethora of large black rocks that can be slick if you are not keeping an eye on where you are walking. Rich in history with an original cannon on site.

Nice little hike from town, can see lots of belugas during summer time. Sometimes polar bears hang around there and rangers don'ts like people walking there by themselves.

It was parks canada day and the event was filled with events. Ranging from Polar bear enlightenment, painting for the kids, treasure hunt and we get to drive like "Captain Jack Sparrow" for the custome. Haha

Mark Reynolds

Great historic site, but dangerous as heck if Parks Canada staff are not there to watch for polar bears. Don’t visit alone on foot.

Sima Chowdhury

Lots of history about the fur trade. Unfortunately because we came in fall, the water was too choppy to head to the fort.

Zelicious

Beautiful landmark, great experience and sight seeing!

It is a historic place in Hudson Bay, Manitoba, Canada, and its name Merry is a tribute to Captain John Merry, who was deputy governor of the Hudson Bay Company (a fur trading post that was built in 1717). A cannon battery was built to protect the river and its mouth. There are many polar bears there.

if you visit churchill, you will find the old cannon port, there is still one cannon there on the slot. there is a stone sort of like oven and if you go to Cape merry late spring and summer you can see the beluga whales swimming around at the bay and in the churchill river opening.

My family and I did the tour provided by Parks Canada and highly recommend it. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. We learnt lots of information and the kids loved trying the various berries! As a bonus it is a great spot to watch the beluga whales swimming around in the Churchill River.
