We don't camp often and we don't particularly like camping, but boy we had a blast staying at one of the Otentik facilities. We were camping alright but all the amenities of showers and clean toilets and comfortable beds in the Otentik facilities really made us like camping. We will definitely come back again. Kids really liked the campfire and looking at the stars in the night sky.

(Translated) We stayed 10 nights and really enjoyed our stay. Feet in the red or white sand during the day and head in the stars at night. The weather was fine 9 days out of 10. In relation to the positioning, it is very good for visiting the island and the other parts of the park. The sunrises and sunsets are magnificent. The facilities are clean. Several supervised beaches nearby. The staff are really welcoming. (Original) Nous sommes restés 10 nuits et vraiment nous avons apprécié notre séjour. This is a great spot for camping it is close close close to a beach, stretches for miles and miles, campground is nice and clean, and now even has otentik , which is half tent half cabin the best of both worlds :) And if you like to go to a little restaurant there’s a couple just down the road from here are great little fish shop If you like this post give me a thumbs up

Rob Silversmith

This campground is okay -- our site was fairly buggy and dark. However it is close to lovely beaches and birdwatching, notably Robinson's Island (also very buggy).

We are very disappointed with this campground. We have an RV, and right where we had to drive to enter our site (#135), there was a big hole / slope. Our right wheel in the back went right in the hole, which caused our metal folding stairs to get smashed and very badly bent. We can’t unfold our stairs to enter the RV anymore. We asked an employee if it was possible to help us uncrook them, and after 3hrs waiting for the manager (they said he’d be there in 30 minutes), they told us they couldn’t repair it. We then asked if we could get a compensation instead. They said they couldn’t do anything to help us. They didn’t even say they were sorry, and didn’t seem alarmed at all that this RV site wasn’t flat, and secure for future clients. Also, their wood is so wet you can’t make an actual fire. Won’t come back.

Stanhope campground was great. all of the national park campgrounds were fantastic, clean, friendly staff, fun activities for the kids. Great biking close by, ponds and bike trails to the east a little bit were especially nice.

Best place at PEI IMHO...

Daniel B

What an awesome campground! A short stroll and you're at an amazing beach! The sites were also well sized and many had good privacy. The office area had free wifi plus plenty of little snack and drink items.

Melissa Meek

We love it here so much that we are considering buying a summer cottage here. Beautiful beaches and few people. Very peaceful place.

Dean Clowe

My favorite place to camp on PEI.

Emily Chan

This campground is very clean and quiet, with excellent facilities. There is a nice playground for kids. There is a beautiful white sand beach within walking distance, and lots of other beaches and trails throughout the park.

Nicholas Hébert-Gauthier

Blair Cole

The layout of the campsite is one of my favourite of all time. Each site had tree coverage for privacy. We saw a red fox run through our site. Stanhope was full of families and provided evening entertainment. The beach is across the road. We walked over there with our telescope at night to wast hours the stats. There is a beautiful lighthouse a short drive or cycle away. Wish we had our bikes for the shoreline bike path looked fantastic.

Matthew Magee

Harris Kagan

first class campground - Easy access to great bike trails. Beautiful place

John Rice

We spent three nights here in early August and had a great experience. The campsite was compact and lacking the privacy of some more heavily wooded sites, but was easily accessible and close to the beach. The staff was quite helpful and there were good facilities. However, one day the hot water heater broke and we had cold showers. Fire wood was available on site.

Monkey Pig

Great campground. Well equip your glamping. Friendlier end helpful staff. Mosquito net for clothing, canopy etc is a must. Otherwise well kept trails. Nice beaches. Great bike path. Very family friendly. I am glad I selected this instead of Cavendish, it is more remote. Cavendish is next to busy tourist trap stuff. I'd that's what you want (Riply's Believe It or Not, amusement park, mini golf. ...), then go to Cavendish. I just went to C to see Green Gable. Otherwise, I spent most of the time near Stanhope. Charlotte town is less than 30 minutes. So, stock up your ice chest.they have block ice and firewood here at a very reasonable price here. Some basic toiletry stuff and few mommentos.

Field M. Khevarash

Staff are friendly and will do their best to help. Originally came here because of a comment that the bathrooms were clean. This is not the case for the showers. Someone needs to give them a brush. The mildew buildup isn't being cleaned when they do their cleaning in the morning. The campground walking paths need to be trimmed since overgrowth is a problem. They seem to be trying to replant trees for privacy within the campground. Problem is a public paths are overgrown and it's easier to cut through an empty campsite than take the actual trail.

Looks reasonable but it's closed for the season (September 11th)! Prices are $26 serviced (electricity and water) for a night's camping.

Samira Alam

A beautifully maintained campground we clean washrooms and friendly staff. My first tome camping was a great experience. The ocean is steps away! It is a great place to visit during the winter as well to witness the still icy waters.

The staff were really great! Unfortunately, we stayed right next to the washrooms and had the lights from there flowing into our tent the entire night. Didn't get a decent rest. The surrounding campers weren't very friendly, either, but on the bright side there was a beach with some great sights just a five minute walk away! That made the bad night very much worth it.

I love national parks. This is no exception. Not at crowded as Cavendish, more traffic noise, but beautiful beaches and you can still listen to the surf as you sleep.

Very clean place to camp. The facilities are also very clean and I was actually very impressed how clean the washroom are. The place is literally less than 5 minutes walk from the beach. You can even hear the waves of water from your campsite. Great experience and an awesome place to bring your family.

Clean and with moderate privacy. Nice biking along the water and a good beach across the road with a great sunset view.

KATHY ACKER

Quiet and clean campground. 2 minute walk to great swimming. Bring your snorkel and watch the lobsters.

Scott Dobie

Awesome campground close to the beach. Recently renovated, new bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities. Bring bug dope and mosquito coils, they are ferocious little buggers.

Michael McQuaid

wonderful location the area is spectacular.

Steve Goldberg

Great location across from the beach. Good space between sites and nice facilities for washing, and cleaning dishes. Beaches are beautiful and great place for cycling and exploring other parts of PEI

Scott and Julie Lemieux

Everything you want in a basic campground. The area offers no local grocery so plan to get your food and essentials in Charlottetown.

Wonderful national park, well maintained and reasonably priced. Loads of activities for the family to do. Across the street from Stanhope beach. My two less favourable comments are that the sites are really close together and there isn't much tree cover for the tent sites.

Jongyeup Choi

This place is really good.

Steve Côté

Joe Derrick

Beautiful, quiet campground across the street from the beach. New playground and washrooms (2 yrs old). Entry kiosk is brand new with lots of Parks Canada items for sale along with some of the usual camping supplies. This is a great place to relax. It's also with 20 minutes drive to Charlottetown and Cavendish. Bring your bikes - great paved bike path running the length of the park. Also, Robinson's Island offers a great mountain biking opportunity (or hike if you prefer). Enjoy

Awesome campground anyone travelling that area have to check it out all amenities of home.

Norman de Bellefeuille

Nice site but not a lot of privacy. But we were near the beach and it's in a good location to use as a base to explore locally.

Ali Bourne

Absolutely gorgeous. Plus the camp attendants went above and beyond for us, we forgot to get campwood and had already paid, we called them as we were out by tignish and wouldn't make it back before they closed so they delivered 2 bags to us. The attendants are amazing and do a great job.

Has bathrooms with toilet paper, has an awesome playground, is located right next to the beach, and is maybe 10 mins from the drive-in. It's reasonably priced aswell (40$ for a tent space with electricity, running water and fore pit). They also allow up to 6 adults per space. Would 100% return and recommend.

The staff are incredibly helpful and it's an amazing campground and surrounding area

John Turgeon

Nice quiet campground. If you like to party and be loud, please visit somewhere else. Liam the commissioner who walks the grounds at night is nice and friendly. Always cheerful.

Karen Ashcroft

Beach access is magnificent. Beach is wonderful. Campsites were not very private and there were a lot of mosquitoes even during the day.

GC Macdonald

Pleasant beach-side camping, with decent facilities, though it was busy and they struggled to keep the toilets clean. Much quieter area than Cavendish and a good base for trips into Charlottetown (don't be put off by the endless malls in the outskirts, the old town is beautiful). Shame they don't rent bikes.

Alex Wang

New bathrooms, showers, very clean. Park staffs are very friendly. 1 mins to the beach. Firewood 6.80/bag. Bring your camera and ready for the sun raise!

We spent two days here at Stanhope during the Cavendish Music Festival. It's a beautiful location with a short walk to the beach. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff are friendly.

gail mcneill

So disappointed. Grass not cut. Sites are very small. No garbage cans to be seen. Would not recommend it. Our provincial parks are so much better than the National parks.

Danny Santarella

Otentik 6 is the best, private, fully equipped

Malcom Fisher

Fine fine fine

Julien

Nice, clean and well placed. But, not enough toilets and showers. Employees are kind

Sam deZ

I booked a Otentik for our stay here for one night. It was a great experience. Even though they say for 6 people, it is very spacious. There was electricity inside. Light, heat and a fan was provided. Nice seating and picnic table. Needed a bit if cleaning though. When we arrived we were greeted by a bunny and in the night a skunk visited our backyard. Kitchen was close proximity but was small and dark compared to the one at Cape Breton NP. Washrooms were very clean and showers were very nice and spacious. Overall great experience.

Elizabeth North-Williamsz

Nice campground with a good layout. A bit larger than I am used to, but it wasn't too busy when we were there. Close to the beach.

Beautiful campground with great amenities and really helpful, friendly staff. Nicest bathrooms, laundry room, and dish-washing sinks I've ever used at a campground. Great beach with amazing sunsets. Water and electrical at sites were great! Be prepared for lots of mosquitos, loud crows, and some foxes. We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Bernd Kopp

Very friendly staff, clean facilities, park close to beach

Quiet, clean, and well maintained campground. Rather for people who want to rest not to party. It has a small playground for children. 1 km to organized Stanhope beach but you can also access a narrow beach just in front of the entrance to the campground. Frequently campfire restrictions if the weather is good as there are trees on each campsite.

lewisrk

Excellent beach nearby and clean facilities

Chris Wade

2foot 5inch fire pit made from 1/2inch Iron cant make smores or keep warm cant even see the fire unless I stand over it. Almost impossible to start the fire because it cant get air. Only person with this style pit. Asked for another pit the next morning said they dont have extra pits but will have maintainenance take a look and returned in the evening to the same pit. So two night with a useless pit. Male showers have not been cleaned in a long time, walls in shower very yellow.
