REVIEWS OF Prince Edward Island National Park IN Charlottetown

Justin Robinson

My family and I love the trails here. Bubbling Springs and Farmlands walking trails are excellent for children. The entire trail system is about 4.5km.

Abanikant Narendra

It's off season now...you don't see a single soul. But a pleasant walk is peaceful

Greg MacNeil

Beautiful beaches, best sand on the east coast, great sunsets too!

eternalsun6

Amazing place to hike. Beautiful scenery.

Dania Tamayo

A beautiful place for different activities like swimming, biking and hiking.

T T

Wow! this is a great place to see the red sand! This is free. If you come in the evening, it's low tide, the sand is soft and you can walk pretty fall. You will also see hermit crabs. You can also view the Confederation Bridge in the distance If you come in the morning around 10am. It is high tide. There's not much place to sit but the kids can swim in the water. We like how there are lifeguards allover PEI beaches. You don't get that in Ontario. The washroom are pretty outdated! there are toilets and showers stalls which is pretty much all you need. But nothing compared to the beaches in the north end like Cavendish. We see that they do paint the woods to give it a fresh look but still outdated. However, still highly recommend this beach.

Mohamad Yassine

Great views of the ocean plus a very clean beach! Watch out for the little crabs, they might nibble on your foot. They don't hurt don't worry haha. Highly recommended! Really enjoyed the walk along the beach / rock side :)

Shannon Svenson

The beach is lovely, well maintained, and close to the campground. Many sites seemed small with little privacy, though we lucked out with ours. It was quiet despite most of the sites being full, though, and the facilities were kept clean.

Della Slade

Clean beach and sand; warm water, ...a great combination!

Donn Harrison

Beautiful area! We spent a day at the park and loved it. There were so many things to do here. Wonderfully managed and we can't wait to come back.

Madeleine Nault

Very clean beaches. largest parking at Brackley Beach

Jody Gervais

One of a kind! Only National park with 3-way service that I have ever been to. Nice trails, ample spots. Most of the trees are very tall and mature, which doesnt always provide the privacy that you would like, but a thousand times better than the standard pack and stack. Two things of note: 1) There is poison ivy everywhere. 2) Dogs although accepted in the park are not allowed on the beach due to the endangered bird species in the area.

Raihan Amb

This is one of hidden gem in Canada's national parks. we almost missed it in the beginning. but as we see the reviews and pictures we decided to continue to explore. as you go deeper into this park, you get astonished by its unique beauty and landscape. It has greatest broadwalk, sand dunes, sea shoreline, tons of wild species. what else you can imagine. when we were there, we saw few photographers doing wedding shots. i must say if you are traveling to P.E.I , this is your ultimate destination.

Joey W

Beautiful sandy beaches! A stroll during low tie you can find some wonderful marine animals to observe! Crabs, little lobsters, they have it all!

Micah Linkletter

The trails in the National park are fantastic. We biked several of them over a couple of days, and it was a great experience for the whole family.

Travelling T

What a fantastic view of the beaches and sand dunes!

Holly Hohban

One of the most beautiful parks, sand dunes are off limits for climbing unfortunately

Daniel Arseneault

Beautiful beach with some nice facilities including Change Rooms, Showers, Washrooms (flush toilets), Exhibits, Drinking Water, Phone, Canteen, Wheelchair Access and Parking. Lifeguards on site. Great for families.

Yash Mistry

Amazing beach, great trails nearby

Martin Kidd

There's a lot of very nice beaches within the park and most of them are usually not very busy. Certainly less busy than Cavendish and with less seaweed and other gunk on the sand. A few jellies in the water but not as bad as other parts of the island.

Joe Murphy

Wheelchair accessible beach in Stanhope.

Randy McDonald

The Prince Edward Island National Park, though strictly speaking not especially wild, is a beautiful strip of land on the north shore of the Island by the Gulf of St. Lawrence, protecting sand dunes and the strand and the life on sea and land that lives nearby. The beaches, almost all white sand, are the biggest tourist draws, but other natural attractions including the immense dunes of Greenwich, walking trails through the second-generation woods, and cultural attractions like Green Gables are also recommended. Much of the Island's tourist infrastructure is located nearby, making things easier for tourists.

Seasonsathome

Beautiful waterviews. Natural beauty. Parks do a great job preserving and protecting this environment, so it can be appreciated and enjoyed for generations to come.

Rebecca Denisewitsch

Brackley beach was nice. Very clean and lots of space to walk and explore. Parking is right there but there is a bit of walking that might hinder some visitors especially elderly or people with small kids.

todd tiede

Another perfect place for a long walk on the beach :-) or Trail...:-) great place to find large shells crabs pieces of crabs various pieces of driftwood. Someone protected trails but mostly out on the beach. Bathrooms and changing facilities on-site :-)

Sara Whalen

Best walking trails ones that Judy never get old no matter how often you take them.

Jennifer Henry

Amazing must see places!

Ror Mitchell

Beautiful day, beautiful view. What more could you ask for?!

Rick Bannerman

A nice park, but at $20 a car, I probably wouldn't go back just to go to the beach. Especially since Basin Head and Thunder Cove both have nicer beaches and are free.

Linda Mpindu

Beautiful natural scenery with the rocks, water and perfect for walking along, biking or exploring!

Raul Suarez

Really nice park. I loved the floating bridge. The hiking paths are fairly flat. We biked where allowed and found it a leisurely ride.

Jeremy Buchan

Great place to spend the day at the beach. Very clean

Sterling Culleton (Spank)

Great people to talk to I called them about dead Fall and there was to see if we could help by cleaning it up a little bit and whatever we cleaned up if we could have the materials I wasn't looking at it at third point of view but we called to do it the right way and they said that they rather did that follow be there for the creatures and stuff like that so to me that's a good thing the national park of Canada or whatever it is pei I highly recommend the beaches is always clean and their parks are always well kept and they also think about the animals and not just themselves

Kim Myers Brown

Gorgeous red sand beach and rocky cliffs.

Gord Lea

The beaches here are some of the best to be found in the Maritimes. I’ve spent many great summer days here. You can’t go wrong going here. Ample parking and wheelchair accessible beach access.

K Van C

Not rugged and wild beauty but a more relaxing and beautiful park. We did 6 hikes in 2 days. Definitely hikers paradise.

Jean-paul Mallette

I WILL go camping again at this campground good price near beach

Rick Chisholm

Gorgeous hiking trails and beaches on the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

Kate Isgreat

What a beautiful place to take a bike ride, there's 6km/8km of trails depending on the loop you take - easy enough to bike with only minimal incline and small packed gravel. Multiple overlooks to stop and admire the scenery, walk on the beach and experience the red sand.

Stephan Martin

Beautiful views of the Gulf of St Lawrence. Excellent bike paths well suited for all ages. Sandy beaches. Our favourite is Dalvey Beach as it is not crowded, even at the height of tourist season.

Demora Pringel

Loved the walk and the view. Definitely a must to check out if you haven't.

Patricia Bourque

My favorite place in the world. Photographers paradise

Adam Rothwell

Great park. Really nice hiking trails. Large sand dunes. Really recommend seeing

Paul Rondeau

Beautiful National Park - a must see if you’re visiting Prince Edward Island! It was a hot and humid day when we were here a couple of weeks ago but it was worth it. The walking path toward the beach was super easy and included a long floating bridge. Enjoy the spectacular views and endless beaches. Don’t forget to bring your swim trunks during the summer.

Daryl S

Nice views. Too bad there were no open restrooms????

David hou

Great beautiful place!

Jemy Joseph

Good to drive through for ocean views and beaches. Everything closed from November!

Kamini S

Great place to visit. So peaceful.

larry cooper

Great place to visit to see the red cliffs of the North shore of PEI. Lots of observation points stretching along the coastline.

Barry Cantin

All of Canada’s national parks are wonderful, this one is no exception. The beaches are nice and not overcrowded even in August - and the drive is very pleasant.

Hanh Hoang

Beautiful landscape with red sand dunes and field of wild flowers

Terry Smith

Spectacular beaches! Beautiful sand dunes. Good chance you'll see local wildlife.

varun kaushik

This place is amazing, the beach and the trails are wel mantaianed. This is great for the whole family with amazing service by the parks staff.

Shuvankar Saha

I would strongly recommend the parks and beaches in Prince Edward Island for summer activities. They are the most beautiful in maritime areas. The red sand, blue ocean, rocky mountains, green surroundings, what else a traveler can expect from a place. It was an worthy visit during our stay at PEI last July 2019.

JS G.

Beautiful and quiet park under federal protection and administration. Ideal for long bike rides and walks, there is a blend of woods and sea and the nature is absolutely beautiful. Lots of clean beaches along the coast line where the sand is clean and the shore extends with the tide. There are also majestic dunes by the beach that separate from the road and bike trail. Many camping sites and cottages to rent.

Karen Cheney

Beautiful landscape, park closed early for a storm and everything is still well marked.

Spencer Watson

Amazing scenery. Loved the floating boardwalk!

Seth Wright

This park has amazing views, neat little stops for vehicles, and easy washroom access. Even a winter trip is amazing :)

Chad Cromwell

Beautiful beach and boardwalks. Great for watching the sunset.

Pam Cameron

Wow what a beautiful shoreline what a treasure. So grateful we have something preserved for now and the future. We were there in October so the beaches were very quiet few people so peaceful what a wonderful place to go for a long walk, beaches boardwalks really wonderful.

Gord W

such a beautiful part of Prince Edward Island. The North Shore down through Brackley will never disappoint.

k

Beautiful clean beaches and helpful staff at the visitors centre. Went on a very windy day so swimming was not allowed but the ocean was absolutely stunning. Hiked Robinson's Island which had very cool facts along the trail and nice biking obstacles that do not impede on hikers at all. Saw a few birds too. Wonderful sandy beaches.

Andy M.S.

I love the ocean . Very nice park.

Tom Neumann

The "P.E.I." is a wonderful island. They have nice National Park areas for cycling and hiking, clean beaches and not to forget, it is the home of the story of "Anne of green gables" (for all, which like romantic stories).

geordy daws

Amazing views on the northern part of P.E.I.

Andrew Cohen

An absolutely breathtaking area to be. The water is warmer than expected, the beaches are clean, and when the weather is nice, there is no better place to be. An absolute national treasure.

Brett Binns

All the national parks in North America are beautiful and worthwhile, and this is certainly no exception. There are two "long" trails that share their roughly first half and are 4.4 and 4.8 km round trip for each. The trails are crowded but folks are friendly and the paths, boardwalks, and floats are wide and can handle the traffic comfortably. Today was a great day to be photographing dragonflies, and I even recorded some great cicada images. Wildflowers abound. While the parking at the trailhead is not marked off, many RVs, including us, park comfortably amongst the cars. As it is a national park, there is an entrance fee payable at the Welcome Center which also provides a worthwhile museum covering the natural and cultural history of the park.

Claire Lemiski

Natural beauty. Very clean and quiet in the "off-season."

Rob G

Beautiful. There's no place like PEI and the parks and beaches are no exception. Free passes were (are?) available in 2017 for the Canada 150 celebrations, so if you need more excuses to visit then I don't know what else to tell you!

Dàwéi Hēiér

Nice park with dunes and beaches ! Had great time with my girlfriend and daughter!

Tony

What a beautiful place. Confederation bridge was stunning to see in person. PEI is a hidden gem.

Dave Garroway

The surf coming ashore on a sandy beach with the wind coursing above the dunes. A warm sun and the ideal is available to all

Adham Elrayyes

An awesome place to visit. Prepare to walk alot, but very worth it.

Joseph Tesoriero

A perfect day in a pristine place. Dropped by Dalvay by the Sea for an afternoon platter. Beautiful setting. Went to Brackley Beach. Clean sand, lifeguards on duty, my first North American beach swim! Loved it

Derek Wilson

Stunning natural scenery in this beautiful national park. We drove through a little after 7pm. The gates were open and there was no fee to enter the park.

Jeremy O

Serene beach views, the sound of waves crashing, sea breeze. What more could you ask for? Awesome park with white sandy beaches. Most of the large beaches have good facilities for showering and changing. As a National Park you will pay an admittance fee...what's the big deal? It costs $$$ to maintain these beautiful parks folks!

Christopher Ketelaars

Prince Edward Island National Park is easily a highlight of the island. With stunning stretch of beaches, dunes, walking trails and beautiful East Coast scenery, this park is really worth the small entrance cost. If in Cavendish for any stretch of time, consider the weekly or season pass options. The most popular beach is the main Cavendish Beach, but driving along the coast it's easy to find smaller less crowded beaches as well. There's many trails as well for biking or walking. We did the homestead trail which is a great mix of forest, field, and ocean view.

Tino Ma

Fantastic location!!!

Chris Ross

Beautiful dunes and beach!

Deborah Greenaway

It's essential to visit Anne of Green Gables and easy to imagine living in her world at the museum.

Chase Desjarlais

I love seeing the beutiful pillow factory and the marvelous cheese cakes that the islands has the offer...My kids love learning about the rich history and visiting the wonderful casino! they love the slot machines and the fish sticks... OVERALL GREAT PLACE

English Dave

Beautiful Sandy beach for building sandcastles and the water was nice and warm. Had a great time.

Emerald Meadows

Nice park with lots of activities for kids. What more can I say the floating docks are a must see but be prepared to walk but the walk is beautiful.

Marissa Barner

Absolutely beautiful! Felt like we were in a Wes Anderson film. Saw a few foxes, hope to return soon.

Sanje Ab

We stayed in Otentik in our road trio to PEI from Toronto. One of the best camp or Otentik we have experienced. Site is clean and well equipped so you dont need any BBQ , BBQ tools, basic utensils, water at the site, out door patio! With 4 chairs. What else ? Common washrooms are well maintained and clean at any given time, which was surprising for us because all the sites were occupied too. Thank you for park staff and management for provding excellent service. This park deserves more than five stars..!

Kirk Hickling

Had a fantastic time at Prince Edward Island National Park. The staff at the interpretive Center for helpful and knowledgeable and there is a movie that you can sit and watch that explains all about the park and the island. My wife and I took our son 7 and another couple who had a son 5 on the floating Boardwalk to the dunes and it was well worth the time about two and a half or three hours depending on how long you stay at the beach. After our walk we had lunch picnic of course and then it was off to the swimming area which was clean and fantastic with only about 30 people and of each about two and a half or 3 km long. Water was slightly cooler than the show side beaches but it refreshing reprieve from the heat.

Monkey Pig

Very full kept. Summer staff are seasonal college students. Very helpful and respectful. Very well kept bike and hiking trails. I will definitely visit again.

Edward Prosienski

Great beaches along this stretch of coast and this park. The road is in perfect condition and as mplecparking is provided in most cases. Not all the beaches have rest room facilities and life guards so choose according to your needs

Robert MacDougall

so many wonderful beaches on Prince Edward Island. Brackley is a perfect spot to catch a beautiful sunset

Justin Gonsalves

Great view of the Atlantic Ocean from here. Lots of beach area and plenty of spots for great pictures. Not a lot of parking.

Robert S

Always like coming back here. So peaceful ????

Deborah Shepherd

Breathtaking views. Access to walking trails and biking. We found plenty of parking. Enjoy a little while or a whole day to explore and even go from here to the beach.

C J

We went to the beach and it was gorgeous. You can walk alongside the shore. There are even some seashells.

Yuval Kisin

I loved bouncing from one rock to the other. I liked the pictures I took with the pretty orange rocks. There was a little tunnel made of them and that is a good place to get pictures with your family. I loved how the water looked.

Stefan Radovanovic

Amazing experience going off season. Virtually nobody around. Amazing photos.

Brenda Doyle

This is an amazing gem! There are beautiful beaches and great trails to explore on foot or on a bicycle. Also amazing camping with salt air and sounds of the surf to put you to sleep.

Dave Smilie

What a wonderful park! We were visiting from California. We drove all the way from Boston to visit the island. What better way to visit, we thought, than to go to a National Park named after the island. It did not disappoint. The beaches were large and clean. The water was warm. Although we didn't swim, there didn't appear to be a large drop off like at home so there was no apparent undertow. The park workers we encountered were very polite and helpful. We would highly recommend a stop here.

Dave Low

Gorgeous. The charm of this park wouldn't be any different if Anne Shirley didn't exist.

Qwazyd0gg

There are so many different things to do in this park. We walked the delightful trails (Bring bug spray!), swam at both the supervised and unsupervised beaches, ate at the warf, and did not even come close to doing everything the park has to offer. There are bicycle rentals as well for those whom may want to complete their sight seeing at a faster pace, and camping available in both cabins and tents for those whom may not want to leave right away.

NOIR. E.L

Beautiful scenery. However. Lack of other activity options.

Chris Dudak

Beautiful beaches, dunes, trails. You can hike and bike all day, then spend a couple hours swimming before going home. What more could you ask for?

cathy b

BEAUTIFUL!! The facilities are great. Clean, handicapped accessible, hot/cold running water. Beaches are clean, parkway drive lovely.

Samantha Geis

This is a very cool National Park and I am happy we made it up here. I will definitely be back! Cavendish Campground was lovely.

Derrek Kimmerly

Beautiful scenery, sand dunes. Great place to bike. You can camp there which we never did. Just a day pass for the beach and site seeing. I can’t get enough of just seeing the PEI shorelines and the sounds of waves. Love it.

Alysha Flagg

Beautiful spot for the whole family. We have been visiting the island for over 10 years now and always enjoy the national parks. They are clean and offer amazing beaches, views, and walking trails. It’s great for wildlife sighting, rock/ shell collecting and exploring. The beaches are so large that they never feel over crowded, especially since we have no young swimmers and can venture into the non-lifeguard areas. Just watch out for jelly fish and don’t feed the foxes! :)

Fern Gotell

I never have a complaint here

Laura Kelly

Small campsites and very limited privacy. Hiking trails are all very easy and family friendly. No dogs allowed on any beaches due to nesting birds

Brian D

Beautiful beaches, well maintained with excellent walking and biking trails. Camping sites are great. All this is in the shoulder season - June!

Justin McMakin

This is what red sands on the south shore during low tide is all about. Amazing.

Julia Skipper

Farmlands trail. Nice variety of wooded areas, including old apple trees. Trail might be slippery due to ice or frozen leaves from late fall to mid spring. Suitable for more robust strollers or prams.

かみかぜのりお

Great hiking trails, wonderful views of the ocean blue. Soil unlike anywhere else I have visited, it is almost neon orange in some places. A beautiful National Park, very remote. The combination of the landscape & the ocean are unequivocally & lavishly splendiferous!! If you ever are in the area (as it is quite off the beaten path - on the northern end of Nova Scotia or far east off of Newfoundland), it is an absolute must see. Anne of Green Gables was filmed here - and, if you're here with that special someone...you can traverse the official "Lovers' Lane." What a majestic place, yes, indeed. A truly unique area & and National Park. P.S. = Gulf Shore Parkway E, along the coast is an absolutely beautiful & stunning drive right along the ocean. This, coupled with an accompanying sunset - & your day will be beautifully complete.

Terry P. G.

Just as beautiful and as rugged as everyone has described. This is indeed a beautiful spot.We stopped here on the way to see Anne of Green Gables Home and I am so glad we did. The red sand is majestic.

LANMonkey GC

Spectacular scenery easily accessed by almost any mobility level. Beach access must be timed with the tides however. We visited in the early shoulder season (early September) and had great weather and hardly any other people. This is certainly the right time of year to visit if you are able.

Eugene T

It’s magical. Red sand beaches, pristine waters. We came in early June and it was still quite cold but warm enough that you can walk along the beach in stretches. There’s a lot of small free parking along the major routes so park and head over the dunes to see the ocean. Be careful not to disturb the dunes and also becareful near the edges because the ground might be unstable.

Matthew Gillis

Nice beaches all around. Even the smaller ones are nice! Great walking/biking side trails and actual trails.

Douglas Robertson

The natursl beauty of PEI National Park must been seen to be believed. The beaches are nice (and perfect for sand castles) and in many spots there are swim areas roped off that are monitored by Parks Canada surfguards. Away from the beaches the pathways and hiking trails are well maintained and offer up a serene and picturesque activity.

Gabrielle Kieser

Super fun and insanely beautiful!

Peter Manderino

Great stretch of pristine shoreline that is well maintained. See the amazing colors of the PEI beaches and don't miss a sunset here. There is a fee to enter by car during the day by car but that contributes to the maintaining to areas natural beauty and providing facilities. There are some hotels, camp grounds, food vendors, homes, etc, but mostly just a beautiful ride.

Cory Schug

Make sure to make it to the part in Greenwich. Absolutely breathtaking.

Laura Cunningham

Stunning scenery, away from the crowd...loved it

Gordie Hanna

A beautiful National Park. We really enjoyed the beaches.

Norm Platt

I spend a lot of time in PEI from May until late October and I always visit the national park when I can. The beaches are great and I you wait until August, the water warms up. Highly recommended.

Dinu G

Really loved visiting that place, the wind, the dunes, sand and the smell of the ocean... nice spots to take pictures

Gary Randall

We drove our 32 ft class A RV around the entire perimeter of Prince Edward Island. We spent the night at four different lighthouses on the island. It's beautiful, the people are lovely, the scenery is 50 stars! Don't miss this one!

Doug Allan

Pristine beaches, miles and miles of them. But they cost ($15+ per carload) and the water is rather chilly in early July.

Melvin D. Lerch

This was a very unexpected landscape. The dunes and cliffs are stunning and the scenery is one of a kind.

Charles Coutu

Great place food service and gift shop

Justin Case

You have to experience this natural beauty. Bring good runners if you want to walk on the rocks to get to the point. Go slow and carefully, it's worth it.

George Boszormeny

Was good walking on the beach and trails. Would have enjoyed the trails even more with our bikes.

Diane Cook

One of my favorite stops on our cruise. PEI car rental was great to work with. Richards lobster rolls were stacked high with fresh lobster. The color contrast of red soil, blue sky, yellow dandelions.. was incredible. Very kind locals everywhere we stopped.

Chris Goddard

Great stop for the family! We walked along the beach and had a great time.

Jeffrey Walker

One of the nicest beaches I've ever visited. The red rocks and red sand are just beautiful.

Kbelo Martins

Beautiful beach with red rocks and sand. I loved the path made for us to walk around and get a better view from the nature around. The parking are is very clean and there is a lot os spots available.

Charlotte Bourgeois

Loved the scenery at Greenwich National park. The floating boardwalk was beautiful. See pictures. The beach is awesome and less busy than Brackley beach.

Sabrina S

Beautiful park with different beaches, sand dunes, little red sand cliffs. All very well organized and clean. Not too busy even end of July.

Zach Reid

The beach is very well maintained with a concession stand, public washrooms. As well there walking trails along the coast and a beautiful drive from the second entrance to the 3ed

Rahul Sharma

Great experience... The walk on the bridge is so relaxing. Great photo spots.

Travel gamer

In this national park there a lot of beautiful beaches, but i liked too much the beach where sand makes a particular sound, that is also a good opportunity to swim in the atlantic ocean beacause there the water is like 18 degrees

Alen Joe Francy

Great place for summer

Alex T

An impressive place to meet the ocean. There are a number of observation points with access to the shore, and a hiking/running/cycling trail along the road throughout the park.

Briony Dickinson

Absolutely gorgeous. A must see if you're on the island! We stopped by multiple times on our trip and it's a beautiful place to catch a sunset. As much as I enjoyed seeing all the signs on the walks around the dunes and learning how they are formed and the delicate ecosystem they create... I would love to see more signs discouraging people from feeding the foxes. Seeing the foxes congregate by peoples cars in the parking lot, being tossed scraps of processed food so people can take pictures infuriated me. We almost hit 3 foxes on the drive down there and quickly figured out why, apparently "feeding time" was on? ????

Olivia Stewart

Phenomenal park. Great bird watching - herons, gulls, ospreys, etc. So much to do and see on the Island. Such a beautiful area.. we want to come back every year.

Ruth Shadoan

Great tent camping on the beach. Wooded sites were somewhat small. Drive along the shore was amazing with plenty of places to stop and walk. Nice bike trail.

D D

Great park

KhmerAdventures

We love this park, we stayed two nights at thier campghound, can't wait to go back again.

Geraldine Gonzalez

It's big and beautiful, lots of beaches and hikes.

Brooks Elford

The 4.4 km was a long walk but worth it to see the sand dunes! If you're going to Greenwich beach note that there are no snack vendors or fresh water there, you need to fill up your water bottles at the visitor information centre and ensure you bring sufficient food with you.

Rod Paul

A beautiful well maintained park.. with all you need to tent to go full on Glamping!????

Shannon Way

PEI has some of the most beautiful untouched landscapes there are many wonderful parks to visit but this is a must at the top of the list. There are beautiful rolling sand dunes amd gorgeous red stone cliffs over looking the ocean front. Its clean and very well kept. The water at most of the PEI beaches is on the colder side even in August. So be prepared for that but the beaches are long and have a slow incline into the ocean so good for little ones. Beware the sand flies and other pests near the grassy sand dunes best to stay away from there.

Leonid Chukhovsky

It's breathtaking, if you enjoy outdoors - this is the place to check out. Photographer can spend days capturing it, amazing sunsets and sunrises, hiking at it's best. Plenty of space to explore, different levels of hiking, but it's mostly flat, some trails can be long and during sunny days it can be a bit of problem.

Kara Leftley

Beautiful scenery overlooking the water, so much plant diversity and natural colours. There is also information about the Mi'kmaq Peoples, it was refreshing to see information from the government that wasn't exclusively bragging about the colonization.

Jess Messi

Cleanest bathrooms ever, beautiful beach and nice swimming area, firewood (can be purchased near front gate) was dry, campsites easy to locate, easy navigation in general. Our campsite was a bit rocky and it was hard to find a good spot for our tent, although i don't think they can do anything about that.

Jill Quirk

Beautiful scenery, great bike and walking trail along the coast to admire the ocean views, the occasional fox to spy along the way and of course the beaches to swim in if you are too hot..what's not to love!

Pat Ling

Beautiful beach and when we were here there was almost no one. Worth a visit!

Wenhui Li

I love it's beautiful scenery even in winter

Olivier Ouellet

Wonderful red sand beach. Great scenery.

Bill Duncan

A beautifully kept park, on the edge of the ocean. Great beaches (though watch for jellyfish), and great summer programming. The Otentik cabins, in particular, are beautifully situated, each looking out into the surrounding woods. At night, as with any of the less developed spots on PEI, you might be treated to a spectacular expanse of stars.

Imam Hossain

One of the best ????! If you ever plan to visit Prince Edward Island, you must visit the Greenwich National Park..... Best views for Sunrise & Sunset!!!!

Barbara Boncompte

Spectacular!!! This place is a must see. Beautiful nature at its best. Not to far from creature comforts.

Judicious Jazz

The trails go all around cavendish to all the best views, lots of interesting things to see along the way!

Vitalii Opekunov

Very clean and looked after park. Beware that all washrooms are closed in the off season.

Dylan Kafka

It's a little walk to get to the beach but totally worth it

Keyur Patel (Q)

An amazing national park with an awesome beach. This park is also part the dark sky preserves of Canada so if you see into astrophotography, or just want to see stars, it's the place to go.

Mike Ou

Great beaches and nice camping sites. It is definitely worth visiting again.

Sean Kibbee

Fun place. No crowds and excellent swimming for families.

Jennifer L

So beautiful and even more amazing to go off season and have the whole beach to yourselves. My husband and I went mid April and it was one of the highlights of our East Coast trip. Definitely worth a visit next time you're in PEI.

Charles Augello

Beautiful park and great trails. It was awesome to be able to walk through a forest over a pond and onto the beach. This is where I proposed to my now fiance and it will forever be a special place in our hearts.

Cheryl Kottelenberg

The coastal drive is beyond beautiful.

Jimmy Hendricks

They were giving warning tickets out to people parking alongside the road when all the parking lots were full. There are no "no parking" signs. I don't understand why people can't park off the road safely without getting harassed.

Donna Height

Great beautiful place to make memories we are on our 20th anniversary and will definitely be back

Cheryl Johnson

Great walking path here

Mercedes Segura

Beautiful, beautiful place!! Some of the most gorgeous beaches. Park is well organized and the beach is very clean. Great place to spend the day and a very nice bike trail. Trail is nice and flat if you want an easy biking day. You will need to pay admission, can do a daily fee or a park pass with is good for the year. Not dog friendly during the summer season unfortunately.

Vincent James

Beautiful beaches and a heavenly place.

Maggie White

We drove from one end to the other, stopped a few times. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches in the park.

Jodi Davis

Beautiful beach, nice walking trails. Very clean and well maintained.

Peter Fedyczko

Beautiful walk and a fantastic floating boardwalk to diners.

George MacLean

Beautiful spot, amazing sand and surf.

Well worth the drive. The driving tour was great, but you can pay for a full pass to stay on the beaches. Pricing isn't too bad for either option.

We went to Greenwich in PEi National park.. walked all three trails including the beautiful dunes trail with about 1 km of boardwalk. Amazing sights..easy walking on flat hard packed trails..suitable for little ones in strollers...Jim

It is my happy place ...falling asleep to the sound of the waves .. strolling the red sands and watching the sun fade. Heaven

Gorgeous, anywhere on this island is beautiful

Words cant tell, picture do not show it....beautiful. Just go and enjoy. Prepare for any kind of weather. The locals love to hear your stories!

Phenominal bike paths and running path. However VERY flat for a road rider like me. Beavhes are spectacular and water was so warm when we where there. Lifeguards on duty for kids. Places to walk to get privavy and away from crowds. Beach parking gets very busy so go early! Park is kept beautifuly.

Jared Williams

A little windy and cold, but nice to see the landscape. Public washrooms were still open and very clean. We had no admission fee due to Canada 150

John Turgeon

Really nice place to visit. One day we will make it back.

Ruta Desai

Very unique beaches with sand dunes and red cliffs. Informative and fun panels along the way and lookouts at great spots :) scenic drives are great too with bike Lanes as well! Most trails in Cavendish Grove and Stanhope were easy and smallish. Robinson island also had nice bike trails.

Nicolas Morin

Very nice park and quiet, clean (no mosquito as there is a breeze coming from the sea) 2 minutes walking to the beach, the beach is clean and beautiful from which you can see the sun down. the staff are professional and helpful, there is a nice bicycle track..love this place I will go there again

Craig Buchanan

These parks are awesome. Many have flushing toilets and changing rooms. They’re scattered all over the island. You have to pay a nominal fee to enter. We bought a week long pass. I don’t think it’s possible to see them all in a whole summer.

Michael Conway

Beautiful Cavendish Beach. Gulf of St. Lawrence water was nice walking along surf. Great boardwalk with nice breeze.

Bob Bbq

Great place to camp and cheap! right beside the red cliffs a must see ! We saw foxes and my son had a blast . Only negative was the massive amount of poison ivy on are site . Almost half the vegetation was poison ivy .

tomer Nahum

Really nice place with a nice and special views. Great for few hours visit

The Park is best visited in the Summer or Fall, but it's beautiful year round! I've lived on the Island for 5 years now and the National Park is very well maintained, the beaches are perfect, and the trails are decent. Lots of bugs on the trails in the summer but by fall they're more manageable. The park is technically closed in the winter and spring, but they allow access along the road: just be extra cautious if you decide to walk on the beach during this time as the ice floes that have washed ashore do make it treacherous. Grenwich offers the best beach in my opinion but it can be a bit of a drive from Charlottetown, but Brackley/Stanhope and Cavendish are also quite nice.

Brent

What a joy to have this beautiful place to enjoy. The park is so well maintained and clean. The hiking and biking trails were wonderful and there were places to just enjoy the views along the trails. The beach is wonderful and the sand dunes are beautiful. The water was 19C and the tide was calm.

You must visit this before leaving Prince Edward Island beautiful landscape perfect for vacation photos

Beautiful places

Danika Allen

Beautiful walking paths in the fall

Absolute must see while in PEI. The Gulf Shore Parkway has some of the best views on the entire island. Trails at Greenwich beach are easy enough for most people and you will walk through some beautiful natural areas. Bring your beach chairs and coolers and spend a day at Greenwich beach. Absolutely beautiful and the water in August is quite warm.

Dennis Baker

Beautiful beach. Cool wind today so mot many on the beach. Glad the washrooms were open.

Richard Carter

Absolutely stunning. Beautiful red sand beaches. Stunning views of small, red sandstone "cliffs." Not to be missed. You have to buy a park pass, it's cheap but worth it. Great place to visit, a must see.

Uman a

Excellent beach with good change room facilities and parking. Water was warm in late July and the water remains at waist height for quite a distance. Other than for a park operated small shop with pop, there is no other place to get anything on the beach, so pack in anything you need.

Kayla Mann

A must visit if you're on PEI. Beautiful walking paths and breath taking beaches. Singing sand can be found here!

L B

Beautiful place ! Clean. Access to toilets. We will come back ????

Connie McIvor

beautiful. healing and the smell was amazing.

Stefan Mohamed

Very scenic, memorable park. I went on a Friday morning in the first week of June, so a bit chilly, at 13°C. The trail was nice and quiet, with only two other couples out that morning. The trail transforms from gravel, to dense forest, to a boardwalk over a marsh, which leads to a long clean stretch of beach. It's quite nice to have a whole beach to yourself. There's no fee to enter, and a washroom at the entrance.

Richard Plokhaar

No dogs on beach “to not disturb wildlife”? But you allow people…. As if wildlife knows the difference. That exclusion of leashed dogs absolutely makes no sense. People are worse than dogs. Waste, cigarette stubs…

The views of the coastline and the red sand beaches and cliffs are absolutely breathtaking and an absolute must see if one visits PEI. We were only able to take a drive through the park as it was later in the day when we visited but we were mesmerized by the scenery and the sunset that night was incredible. I travel frequently and I have to say that this comes in third compared to Maui, Hawaii and the Grand Canyon. I would highly recommend everyone to visit PEI and enjoy the beautiful scenery, including the amazing coastline, the well maintained farmland and gorgeous farms and all of the wonderful, friendly people that we met wherever we went on the island!! Our vacation could not have been more blessed than it was and all of the people that we met along the way made it even more memorable!!

Filip Tombak

The park is beautiful and the beach is very nice too; clean and we'll kept. Only real issue is that the Park's information/maps are sun bleached and not that helpful. On a hot day no other place to be than on a beach though! Also on the far East side of the beach is a really cool area with a bunch of stone Inukshuks!

Dujana

You will see many reviews giving positive feedback and its true! If you like a long walk on the beach this is the place for you! There is alot of space for everyone even the big lovely crabs!! Really beautiful scenery from the bluish water to the red sandy beach to the white sand dunes. There is many many activities a family can do to fill more than a day!!!

Lovely park. The beach was nice. We swam in the ocean. It was lovely. The facilities are excellent and well maintained. Green Gables were also nice addition to our experience at the park. We stayed the night in a otentik and it was a great experience. Really spacious. BBQ, gas and utensils were provided. There was tap at the site. There was electricity too. The comfort station was the best that I've been to in Canada. The kitchen facility separately located close by. Small and dark compared to the ones at Cape Breton NP. There are sinks to wash your dishes located close to the washrooms. We had to pay separately to use the beach, Green Gables and day use for camping, which usually is covered with one day pass at other National sites. Overall great experience and would recommend spending a night or two here.

Alex

One of the nicest beaches in Canada.

Steven Cohen

It was beautiful! The trails through the grasslands, forest, and wetlands were amazing...leading out to the beautiful north shore beach!

Leslie Whitney

Pay troll between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to get in park. Free till 9:00 pm. Only place to get to the beach which have to walk down to. Lots of hiking and petal bike trails. Beautful spectacular views too! There is motel in park to stay but not near beach. Not far from town of Ann of Green Gables.

Bernie Sorkin

We stayed at the camp site for 4 days sites are fantastic most have power and clean drinking water. Washrooms and showers were clean and well stocked the park staff were wonderful to deal with

Nick

Beautiful hiking trails with a lot of historical landmarks. Highly recommend!

Morgan Lambert

Picture taken March 27th, dogs are prohobited starting April 1st... It's a great beach but is there really going to be so many people jumping to go here that you can't extend it until mid April 1st of May? So that the dogs can enjoy the beach to when there's not ice and snow everywhere?

Wally

PEI National Park explores the history of the area. I am used to wilderness type national parks therefore this was a change. Our Otentik at Stanhope Campground was decent. The sites are a bit close together with little privacy. The sites at Cavendish Campground are also very close together. We stayed on a site without any trees BUT waking up with an ocean view was worth it! The beaches and sunsets were gorgeous! Laundry services at the campground got us out of a pinch after weeks of camping. The washrooms were decently clean! Green Gables is a must see! Stanhope lighthouse was also interesting!

Kelly McKirahan

Beautiful and peaceful coastal community. Wonderful rural countryside!

Susan Jordan

Visitor Information was helpful on walking trails. Park is 3 long skinny beaches. Well marked and maintained. Beautiful views of beach, water and dunes. Great bike trails.

Christopher Chang

Absolutely amazing place. The beach and trails are awesome. The beach is huge and stretches far. The water is a great temp for dipping feet into. There is an active life gaurd presence. Relaxing as can be. The trail offers some stunning views. The trail isn't difficult and the floating dock portions offer views of the dunes that is just something to see. Bonus is the massive dragon fly population so mosquito's are in check. Plus the dragon flies can be seen in some great colors and if you are calm they are more than happy to land on you! The cost of entry was $15 for myself and my spouse and it is well worth it. Parking additionally is ample. Again highly recommend if you are going to be in the area. It is thus far my favorite spot in all the province.

Robin Gazaille

All three areas are nice. The dunes are a must see. There is an excellent seafood pub at the fisherman area of the Stanhope location.
