This place was fantastic for our 11 year old...my parents who are seniors and for my husband and I! So much fun. A small rocky beach, HUGE playground area. Suitable for all age groups. Great concrete figures all through the woods with pathways!! Hidden treasure off the beaten tourist path!

With no entry fee it's an incredible value, even more so during the summer season. We visited during the off season in late fall, it was busy and seems to be a terrific for kids to wear themselves out. There are some some cooking shelters, a beach and a basketball hoop. During the summer months there are bathrooms and a canteen available for snacks and drinks. (Not available in the off season). There are a few trails through the woods featuring concrete sculptures, but this isn't a trail hiking destination.

This is a great place to take young kids. Great play structures in a variety of places on the property. Dirt cheap ice cream and friendly staff. We've been going every year for several visits for the last 10 years.

Extremely fun there's walking trails which have statues of fairy tail creatures such as the three little pigs also they have ice cream for sail which is 1 dollar a scoop

Kings castle is a unique place for kids of all ages. The beach is great, the playground equipment is vintage and fantastic. The characters are fun to visit. Everything about this place is great. And yes, $1.50 for a single scoop is a great deal.

One of the best places /parks you have to see on the island, especially with kids! There is a red beach where you can swim and make a nice picnic. There is a tiny shop which serves a good ice-cream.

Lots of FREE activities: sandy tidal river beach, lots of picnic tables and some picnic shelters, washroom, small canteen, large playground with oodles of things to do. All is clean and well maintained. Oh, also some fairytale storybook characters in the woods.

This is actually a really cool park. It has tonnes of property, and picnic areas. It has covered buildings, washrooms and a canteen. There are story book characters on the trails throughout the woods as well as some great playgrounds. There is even a pretty decent beach. Bring the kids!!

Old classic wood structures and newer modern play grounds too. Spread out. Adventure with fairytale statues in the woods. Adventure on the beach, maybe see some seals. There is always a craft table up in the summer and ice cream and popsicles are a dollar:) Beautiful place for childhood adventures but BRING THE BUG SPRAY!!! As you may expect, this densely wooded property on the water is a haven for mosquitos as well! Bike friendly, leashes dog friendly, access from sommers campground. Nearby cafes. Farmers market in town on saturdays.

We have a travel trailer setup at Somers Campground which is virtually attached to the playground. We go over there some afternoons for ice cream. When our grandchildren are with us they love to play there and comeback to the pool at Somers. The Provincial Playground is excellently managed and supervised. Great place for children.

We had to do this straight away this year, as our kids have been eagerly waiting to play on this playground since our visit in 2019. We spent 2.5 solid hours playing, with a picnic lunch at the quiet beach. Clean bathrooms. Ice cream. Magical statues hidden in the forest. What more could you want?!

If you want somewhere to take the kids, this is it. They will thank you for it. Playground equipment is great. $1 per scoop ice cream. No admission fee. Beach is great to explore. Lots of crabs and hermit crabs during low tide.

Needle in the haystack for sure. Diamond in the rough. Don't care how you say it, but what an amazing park. We stopped there on the way to the Ferry and we wish we had more time there. My kids are 9 and 8, and there was tons of play things for them to do. Mutiple playground areas (at least 4). A huge fort for the kids play on, and small beach access. Picnic tables, covered picnic areas as well. There are even 2 areas where they have fireplaces available to use. There are a few trails with cartoon characters in the woods you can wonder through. There is something for kids of all ages. For the big kids there is even geocaching there (2 as of right now). Good amount of parking and clean bathrooms. This should be a must stop on your way through.

Amazing park! There are statues all over the park. Several playground areas are scattered throughout. So much to do and see. We brought our BBQ and had a picnic supper. We spent about 2 hours here but could have stayed longer. Absolutely reccomended for families with kids. Dog-friendly manager.

Used to be called "Fantasyland" and is themed in fairy tales of old. Includes multiple swing sets/jungle gyms, a log fort, walking paths themed to some fairy tales, a state run ice cream shop, beach front, and bathrooms. No matter what your age, this place is great!! The ladies in the ice cream shop are ALWAYS pleasant and fun to talk to; even after serving 600 scoops of ice cream in a day! A good place for a picnic and for children to really burn off some energy.
