I had a frightening experience at Chelton Provincial Park at closing on Wednesday July 25th that I think needs to be shared with the public as it concerns there safety. A dangerous employee was screaming at and berating visitors to the park at closing time. It was my families first time there. I didn't know that it closed right at 9. We were getting in our car to leave right at 9 and a man was a screaming at us from his car that we were idiots and to read the sign. I had my 7 and 9 year old with us and they were getting scared. We started to leave and as we pulled up to the front entrance he locked the gate before we could leave. We were trying to lift up the chain a few minutes later when he returned and started yelling at us again that he was going to call the police. At that point he dropped the chain. As I drove my car over it he whipped it up against the bottom of my car. I asked him and the lady in his car if he worked for the park and his name. He said he worked for the park but refused to give me his name. I took down his license plate as 50 3NT from PEI. It was a small dark blue sedan. As I was driving away he swerved around me into oncoming traffic with a solid yellow line. This man is dangerous (he was berating and screaming at other people trying to leave before us as well and they were scared as well). I debated on calling the police as he may have done damage to my car. Someone needs to do something immediately or somebody is going to get hurt. My wife and I are never ones to complain and as we are in PEI for only a day I debated on just letting it go and moving on to our next destination but I think this will continue to happen to innocent families trying to enjoy there vacations and it's terrifying.

Chelton Beach Provincial Park is a beach with many beautiful elements. The water is generally wavy and the red sand is beautiful and a distinct mark of PEI. There is a wooden staircase leading down to the water as the top slightly resembles a cliff. I have been to many beaches in my life and mainly all in PEI and what makes his one memorable to me is the nickname my family gave it which was “The Jellyfish Beach”. We found this a very appropriate name for this beach as it is nearly covered in jellyfish.

Beautiful beach, has park, swings, changing/ bathroom with beautiful flowers in front. There is a stair case to beach. A little steep but sturdy metal. You can see the confederation bridge. We seen lots of dogs and even horses on the beach.

Ari

Nice Beach, rare red sand. The water was warmer than the north side of PEI.

Jonathan Bowie

This place is paradise. We actually rent a cottage near by. I kind of don't want to share it! The water is warm, the tides are mild, and the beach is long and sandy.

I really liked this park. It had a nice beach and great view of the Confederation Bridge. There is a lifeguard here as well. The bathrooms have, showers, changing rooms and electricity ☺ Lots of space, picnic areas, parking...no mosquitoes and warm water to swim. I had a great day here!! Will be back again.

Robin Taylor

This used to be a great spot, but this year there seems to be less sand and more Rocks. Views of the Bridge are still amazing.

One of my favourite stops on the way back to NB from The Island. The park officially closes around Labour Day but you can park, hop the gate and walk the beach. Small play area for kids, picnic tables and kitchen shelter. Bathrooms available when the park is open.

Allison

Has to be one of Canada's top beaches. We visited twice during our time in NB. We couldn't get enough. Sooooo clean. Staffed. Safe. Water was crystal clear. Just an amazing experience.

The jellyfish flag was flying high and for good reason. We also came at high tide so there wasn't much beach to speak of, although we did manage to squeeze into a spot and build some sand castles. There is a decent playground up by the washrooms and foot rinse.

This is the perfect beach for families with little kids. You don't need to worry about undertow and the red sand beach is a great place to dig for clams and catch crabs. And you can see the Confederation bridge. Lifeguards on site, public bathrooms, and playground and picnic area. Awesome family spot!

Frank White

Nice beach. Washroom there and life guard too.

Beautiful. Definitely a wonderful spot on the island. There's a playground if the kids get bored, and when the tide goes out there's great little puddles left behind to splash around in. Shh, don't tell anyone.

Coralee Moses Robichaud

Jennifer DesRoche

Beach is very rocky, but there is a functional bathroom/shower room. Metal steps to get down to the beach are kind of steep. Would not take someone who had issues with balance, or unable to walk unassisted.

Craig Savoury

Loved the view of the Confederation Bridge from there. You can it faintly, but it still gives you an idea of how long it is, almost 13kms. Depending on the weather, the water wad quite warm during the low tide as it is shallow.

Kelly Aalbers

Great beach! A little more sea grass in the water than one likes but very good beach.

Jonatan Vlaisavljevic

Such a amazing great cool beach. Crystal clear waters, safe for swimming and swimmers, nice red smoothie send beach, really awesome place to enjoy swimming and chilling on the beach and water as well as the nature, sea, environment and its beautiful surroundings...that attracts with such a natural beauty of Gods creation, Long live Canada...
