This Park is included in the category of Park.
Quebec city is one of the nicest, cleanest cities I have visited. Doing what I do, I have seen a lot more cities than the average person, and I definitely would rank it the best. Quite, safe, family oriented, very rich in history and the weather is just absolutely phenomenal. I am definitely coming back about this time of the year and will stay at the Quebec Hilton in downtown. I couldn't have been at a better spot or better hotel. This city is stunning in every sense of the word. I highly recommend coming here. It will be worth every penny.
Beautiful park, with lots of open vast spaces to enjoy. There are fantastic views of the river and other points of interest. Much history in the area including battles that took place on the plain. Great place to walk or run surrounding much history.
Beautiful Landscape for pictures and walk
Beautiful space with lots of history to soak up.
Let me start by saying, I did not visit any of the museums here but I'm sure they're great as everything seems well preserved. We just walked around the Plains. You can lose track of time here, which makes it a great place to go for a nice long walk and take in the beautiful views. The views are spectacular from many different spots so put on a comfy pair of shoes and start walking.
Perfect for a sweet morning/evening walk. Lovely
One of the best (top 5) parc around. Huge and beautiful trees (some are very old), flowers, many places for a walk or to exercise. Depending on where you are on the plains, you have the best view of the St-Lawrence River and tge old Lévis.
Interesting museum and guided tour experience of history. As well , being St jean Baptiste week end there was a free concert and fireworks at night !
Excellent family choice for Canada day celebrations. Canada 150 had tons of activities including obstacle courses for kids, museum entry, concerts and cake etc. All of the above at zero cost.
Amazing ???? Quebec City Festival D'ETE!!! A most do when visiting ????????
Such a nice place to clear your mind. You can find your peace here by watching river and getting sun bath.
Important museum with a film/diorama in French and English. This is important to understand the rest of the park. Otherwise it is a lovely green space with trees. Nice to walk, extensive paths
The Plains of Abraham is an amazing park in the heart of Quebec City. Plenty of trails to spend hours walking and exploring this historical site. The large fields are perfect for a family getaway or a picnic with loved ones. Park facilities are top notch and there is plenty of space to go around. If you’re visiting Quebec, don’t miss this visit!
Wonderful visit in early September 2015. Weather good and the charm of old Quebec left a great positive impression. Especially the gardens in the park. In our opinion no group does better public gardens than Canadians in all of North America.
One of the finest places in Canada to take the whole extended family. Or just a couple of lovers. History, gardens, open space. Beauty all around. Recommended.
I loved to visit this country because of the quality of life they have and in my point of view, for me that was just walking around and be able to enjoy all this beautiful places around the park with all the greens and was also able to ice skating in open air for me it was magical because in my country we do that inside buildings or big tends with lots of people but only for a few days near christmas.
Such a wonderful place.
You'll be able to see the beauty of the whole city in this place
Lovely place! The view is awesome! It's ok for a walk, read, jog or just stood by the benches.
Most of the area is a giant, well-maintained grass field, but it's clean and has a nice walking path. The highlights are really the well-arranged flowers in the Joan of Arc garden and along the north side of the plains.
Magical place, view to die for!
You need at least 3 days to visit the essentials of Quebec City. The Plains of Abraham is a vast area to explore. You could easily spend hours there if not the entire day because of the surrounding attractions nearby ie. the Citadel etc. They have various events throughout the year and the annual Festival de L’ete music fest is amazing! ????????
Nice view of the city and the river, must go
This is a beautiful park with lots to see and do for all members of the family. There are lots of picnic benches to sit and eat a picnic. You can walk through the gardens. The city is right next door so you can quickly go back and have a meal or shop. The history is incredible and very well preserved. A must see!
Its an amazing park to visit if you want to relax and enjoy some me time. The good thing is, you can also just drive along inside the park and enjoy the nature if you dont feel like walking. It has plenty of parking available inside and its usually not that crowded.
Beautiful place! Would in fact recommend a slightly cloudy day to visit this place- the undulating green plain looks super dramatic against a dark background.
Wonderful recreational area!
Unique place. Must visit
Historical must visit place in the heart of Quebec City
I love Quebec city so much. I miss all the single pieces in Quebec city. Especially, Plains of Abraham is one of my favorite places in Qc. The river view is amazing, and walking on this place made me feel so comfortable, peaceful, and satisfied. I remember all the feelings on this Plains. Want to visit again.
Truthfully the best Parc in Quebec city. A lot of historical places, statues, gardens and wide open grass field with century old trees. Everything is clearly under high surveillance and the maintenance is done properly. Events, like the Festival d'été de Québec or the "much love needed Carnaval" in the winter, frequently take places . They also have a panoply of small historical, foodish, mysical activities all around the year. Perfect place for a walk, jogging, outdoor lunch and more !
Awesome picnic and play area with great views! And the FEQ is amazing!
Such a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a walk.
Most beautiful vast park commemorating the battle between the French and the English and some famous men in the history of Québec.
This is one of my favorite sites in Quebec City. A great historical park which can keep you busy for hours.
Serene... great place to stay connected with nature...can walk, jog, run or just stretch. And yet few minutes away from some coffee and food.
Great place for familly activity young or elderly walk, ski, skate, slide or play hokey in Quebec City for free.
A nice and quiet place to relax and stroll. Lots of nice historic place to visit in the area.
If you are in Quebec City this is a top attraction to visit as many are probably already aware. Put on your comfy walking shoes and go exploring! Free parking is located at the top as many aren't aware and pay for parking at the bottom of the hill.
best place for a walk ... the gardens are impressive
Beautiful park, lots of space to enjoy and I descend from Abraham Martin. Great views of the river and points of interest around the city. Lots of history in the area including battles that took place here. I quite enjoyed walking where my ancestors lived.
It's a lush green grounds where the British and the French fought. Lots of walking but be assured that you will get exquisite pictures of the Lawrence River. Children would love to play in the park and it's wheel chair accessible. It also has a mini cafeteria which serves refreshments and ice cream. Ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes since there is a lot of walking to do.Lastly Please like my review if it was helpful. Thank u!
Awesome place to come walk and enjoy the views
Very beautiful, it’s worth a visit, especially in the summer time!
Very large...... take your bike ???? if you want to see everything in one day. They have fireworks ???? here on Canada Day...... lots of people. Free concerts in the summer! Great place especially if you have kids.
Visited in winter, it was a nice place to walk around for an hour or two. Was excited to skate but it was quite busy and I didn't like the rental skates, they dug into my left heel so I only skated for a little bit
So nice to see large open areas in the city. A beautiful space to walk around and don't miss La Citadelle de Quebec.
An amazing piece of history. The area is well maintained as a has a tranquil vibe to it.
The grounds are beautifully manicured and fun to walk around. A must see when in Quebec city!
Went snow shoeing for the first time with a more experienced friend. Great fun! A winter nature getaway right in the city. Rent cross country skis, show shoes or skates here or bring your own.
To walk, skate, bike fly a kite or just have a picnic, a place where you can go alone with friends or your dog, a huge green space to relax and enjoy.
Great place for a nice concerts. We were there this summer and we saw a great concert. There's a lot of hills in that location but just put on some good walking shoes.
Great large park and plenty of green space for everyone. A must visit.
Beautiful views over Quebec City, the place is clean and very well maintained. A must visit when in Quebec.
It's a lovely park, with loads of walking paths and a beautiful view of the river, and levis, the town across the river. The full Quebec skyline is hard to see, (too close) but from certain places you get an interesting view of the old/new cities. There is lots of history here, and there is a few plaques telling of it. Quebec is a healthy city and loads of people were out running and biking, so expect that sort of traffic. Everyone was very polite about moving around slower walkers. Also the plains of Abraham is much larger than I originally understood, and it's irregularly shaped. So I'm unsure what the residents refer to different areas, but there's one large space (where most of the historical stuff is) that is adjacent to the fort. But there's another segment which is mostly an athletic field that is west of there, next to the art museum. The athletic field is used for soccer and such, but also has a running track and a bike track around the perimeter which is pretty cool.
Cool but was cold. Nice place to visit with family or to have a nice walk.
Beautiful, open park with a great mix of open, well kept fields, walking paths through shaded areas, and smaller forest areas. This is a perfect place for a casual walk to get away from the busy inner city or for a run!
Amazing place and beautiful experience! Happy to live in Quebec! ❤️
Quiet, immense park with terasses and trails for hikers
it's a nice place both in winter and summer, but the ice skating ring is too small for so many people... not very suitable for casual families with children. there are much better ice skating parks in the city.
The Plaines d'Abraham is central to the historic sites of Vieux-Québec. It's near the Citadelle, the Fortifications and Colline Parliamentaire. Grande Allée is likewise nearby for lots of food and drinks. The Promenade des Gouverneurs is also just a few steps away, with stairs leading down to the Terrasse Dufferin, which leads to the Château Frontenac. And if you feel like going down more stairs to Basse-ville, you can roam the Quartier Petit Champlain. That would be a lot of stairs so be prepared with walking shoes. To help you going back to your car, you can take the funiculaire from rue Petit Champlain back up to the Terrasse Dufferin in Haute-Ville. I would suggest breaking it up into 2 days if you have the time. That way you can go visit the Old Port as well. There are also a lot of museums (like the museum for the Plains at this site) and churches which you can save for another day. I always suggest starting from the Plains because parking is only $9 CDN for 12 hours. Elsewhere it's $2.50 per hour for street parking or $2.50 per half hour for the Indigo lots. Indigo has $18 until 7 am the next day as another option. There is also a public toilet accessible at the musée des plaines, which is always useful.
Canadian history at it's best. Great parks, lots of posted historical info. Good parking but Be prepared for some walking
Always the best place for outdoor shows. Vive le FEQ!
Amazing park with great hostory. If you aware of the history, as you walk in the park you can imagine everywhere like a battlefield.
Really nice historical park located in Old Quebec with some great views of the city and historical landmarks as well. You can easily spend a few hours strolling around here on a nice day learning a few things and snapping a few pics along the way.
So much history here!! Great place to visit, bring a lunch if it is nice and sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and eat.
Vast rolling hills, great vues and interesting museum. Also offers picnic locations in shade
The view is amazing!! You can spend more than a day to walk around. I didn't go to any museums, but the open space itself has a lot to offer. You can go up on the stairs which lead you to the top of the wall. You can also go on another side, where there is a trail going down to the river. The night view is also fantastic. Definitely recommend this place to visit when you're in Quebec City
Very nice park I only visited for the concerts but next time I'll consider it for the history!
Loved to hear about the great history that took place here back in 1769. Hard to imagine great battles were fought here for 7 years between the English and French. There is so much history here, everywhere you look there are old buildings still erected from the 1700-1800's. So beautiful, rich in culture and history.
Lot's to explore rich in history with amazing views.
Absolutely beautiful place in the city. My favorite!!
I considered this place very big and very spacious, i consider this park for everyone and it's pet friendly, this place has also a beautiful museum with a gift store but this building is closed at this time but i liked walking in this park to see historical army vehicles and tanks.
Lowkey the best place in the whole city to take a walk, play or even have a bite!
Lots of grass and trees, good views, some small animals
Lots of history, lots of walking, lots of great sites to see.
What a gem. We are so lucky, it's a great place for outdoors. I wish they'd add a bit more effort into keeping the walkers of the ski trails.
Very nice park! History was written here.
On the end of governor's trail, can be accessed by car or walking from Hotel Frontnac, which takes more than half an hour. We drove to the fort which is down below and had free parking (but you can also park for a period, half an hour if I am not mistaken, just in front of it) and we walked up by means of a metal bridge which is not for those who fear heights. The walk borders sheer drops that are marked as such, but not walled (not for small children prone to run). Nice view at the end.
Very nice park. Huge, full of lush vegetation, great views
Awesome place for walking
Great public space, a well kept green oasis away from the busy city.
A very nice tourist spot.
Perfect place to go if you need to change your mind, or just bind with nature. The view on the river is amazing, and it's very fun to pique-nic in there. Pokemon Go fans * spoiler : it's a must go to grind while sitting on the grass :)
If you ever stop in Quebec City, make sure you add this park to your must-do list. Rich in history, with amazing views, just make sure you wear comfortable shoes, as the park is huge!
Cute place to walk around and have a picnic. Or just relax.
An incredible historical park that has something for everyone :) Cannons and benches line walking or jogging trails, gardens, open spaces for a game of soccer or frisbee, and a great playground for children at the base of Avenue d'Érables
Humengus place for shows. Very well orgsnized
The best place to spend the evening walking or just sitting to enjoy the peace. Also a great place to have picnic.
Nice view that i will never forget
Very historical, I love reading about everything.
Beautiful recreation area for running, walking, sledding and snowshoeing. However, it is highly recommended that you watch the diorama so you can understand the historical significance of the area. Also, it is surrounded by other tourist attractions and minutes away from old Quebec.
Sprawling, beautiful and lush parkland, complete with historic landmarks and a testament to the importance of early Canadian history.
Beautiful place to visit.
A beautifully large green space!
Such a beautiful park and doggie friendly!
13-year-old Me was deeply unimpressed; but 30-something-me is just waiting to go back and see what 13yo me couldn't appreciate.
this is an amazing park located downtown, where families and all ppeople enjoy a relaxing park that is safe and beautiful
Great historical place!
A fantastic place to walk or to relax.
Really enjoyed the view here. You can see all up and down the river ! A must see if you’re in Quebec. Do travel to their museum that is also right there, much history to learn
Very nice park with many shaded from very old trees and benches. Very nicely maintain.
Great place to take pictures
Beautiful park but where are the washrooms?
Very pretty park; lots of benches and green spaces
Great place to walk and have a nice view
Fantastic outdoor site, great venue for shows
Beautiful historic park. We went as a family with our family friends during spring. There was still some snow that was melting. It was still beautiful. I would recommend to go in the summer instead, when the fields are more green.
Wonderful park to enjoy a walk and take in the sites of the city while also enjoying the historical markers detailing the pivotal battle that took place here between the French and the British for control of North America. The unique Martello towers still stand that were designed to protect the old city from any invasions and you can still visit and climb up in one to get an idea of what life was like having to man these defensive structures.
Great views, pretty spectacular. Lots of cannons !
One of the best fireworks shows for new year's eve.
Beautiful day in late August. Not very crowded, picnic tables scattered around, perfect for al fresco lunch. Concerts for free during the summer. Very simple in a good way.
Beautiful place to visit. I came here for a walk and later for a bike ride. There’s also some picnic seating areas too plus washrooms which makes it comfortable.
A hidden gem in the most beautiful city I have visited on Canada. Plenty of parking and green space to do just about anything. If your looking for a competitive workout try taking the stairs up and down. It's a very difficult feat. I can't wait to visit this beautiful space again when I visit the city in the near future.
Great place to chill and relax. Parking is available and if you drive up the hill, you can park 1hr for free.
Very beautiful park with lots of things to do. The view is amazing.
I love Quebec city!! excellent place to walk with your family in this park. Looking forward for next visit (in this summer:)).
Very beautiful, large park with sprawling grounds and a huge amount of history. Allow lots of time to enjoy it. It would be a great place to spend a sunny afternoon sitting in the shade on a blanket.
Its amazing and beautiful. We went towards martello tower and the view is really nice. Unfortunately thd tower and museum were closed during 2019 summer for construction so make sure when you go, that construction is over. Amazing for picnics
Amazing place woth a huge green space and great for winter games
The park is almost 250 acres of verdant, gently rolling ground with the greenest grass and the most beautiful, mature trees to enjoy! There is so much space that people and families can rest and play never really inconveniencing others. The St. Lawrence is just a stone's throw away through a copse of trees. There are number of river overlooks. And nearby is the Joan of Arc Park which is truly enchanting!
Great place for a long walk. Lot's of open space and nice over the river
This is one of the most historic places in Canada and every Canadian should see it at least once. For me, it made the whole event real and gave me a new appreciation for my heritage. It is very easy to imagine how the battle unfolded as much of the area is intact. I have developed a profound respect for the French, their culture and history as a result of visiting this place and I feel even more like a true Canadian.
This is an absolute must see in Quebec City. The size of this park is amazing as well as it's history. It would take you almost half a day to walk around the whole thing and that's at a quick pace. So many photo opportunities to be had. There are markers all throughout the park to talk about how the park was made as well as the amazing battle that took place there. I've been through the park several times and I'm always amazed at how such a place of battle and loss was turned into the most amazing park I've ever seen in my entire life.
Did visit this park with 20 cm snow cover, and freezing temperatures. Was still very nice to gest a view over the river, and of the old, brutalistic, and modern buildings, that are combined to build the city skyline. Good place to get to know the city a bit. No snow plowing when i did visit in mid November, so bring your snow boots.
Beautiful, large park with some nice views of the river.
The Plains of Abraham (French: Plaines d'Abraham) is a historic area within the Battlefields Park in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The land is the site of the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which took place on 13 September 1759, but hundreds of acres of the fields became used for grazing, housing, and minor industrial structures. Only in 1908 was the land ceded to Quebec City, though administered by the specifically created and federally-run National Battlefields Commission. The park is today used by 4 million visitors and tourists annually for sports, relaxation, outdoor concerts, and festivals. The Plains of Abraham Museum serves as the park's information and reception centre. It features a multi-media exhibition about the siege of Québec and the 1759 and 1760 battles of the Plains of Abraham. Other displays feature the history of the site through archaeological artifacts found in the park. Open year-round and located at 835 Wilfrid-Laurier Avenue, the museum serves as the starting point for tours and includes a gift shop. The plains are likely named after Abraham Martin (also known as L'Écossais) (1589–1664), a fisherman and river pilot called The Scot. Martin moved to Quebec City in 1635 with his wife Marguerite Langlois and received 32 acres of land divided between the lower town and promontory from the Company of New France. Abraham's name appears in the toponymy of Quebec City at the time of the French regime, the deeds of the 17th and 18th centuries referring to the coast of Abraham, and a 1734 plan even precisely locating an Abraham Street. Later, the journals of the Chevalier de Levis and the Marquis de Montcalm referred to the Heights of Abraham, as did the diaries of British soldiers, who also employed the phrase Plains of Abraham. The park itself presently occupies an area approximately 2.4 km (1.5 mi) long by 0.8 km (0.5 mi) wide, 98 ha (242 acres) that extends westward from the Citadelle of Quebec and the walls of Quebec City along a plateau above the Saint Lawrence River, and forms a part of The Battlefields Park. An interpretive centre and walking trails have been built on the site, and monuments commemorate the Battle of Sainte-Foy and James Wolfe, the latter being an astronomic meridian marker raised in 1790 by the Surveyor-General of Canada, Major Holland, on the site where Wolfe was said to have died. In 1913, the National Battlefields Commission placed a column identical to one that had been built on the site in 1849, and a replica Cross of Sacrifice was constructed on the plains to commemorate soldiers who were lost in World War I; it continues to be the location of Remembrance Day ceremonies every year. On 10 September 1959, Canada Post issued Plains of Abraham, 1759–1959, designed by Ephrum Philip Weiss with a picture engraved by Yves Baril and lettering engraved by Donald J. Mitchell. The 5¢ stamps are perforated 12 and were printed by Canadian Bank Note Company.[14][full citation needed] The site is mentioned in the 1975 song "Acadian Driftwood", by The Band, as well as in the song "The Maker", by Daniel Lanois. Gordon Lightfoot mentions the site in "Nous Vivons Ensemble" (1971). Geddy Lee mentions the site in his song "My Favourite Headache" from his solo album of the same name (2000).
So much grass! We estimated at least 30 football fields within the large track area. The Grey Terrace was a beautiful view and a nice visual testament to the armaments that once protected the area. Loved it and highly recommend!
Great local attraction! Ride the alpine cable car to the top, or walk around to the waterfall!
Nobody's wearing masks or respecting social distancing but the place is really nice. Great for walking, running or cycling, even during winter. But it's even better during summer with the huge lawns and trees. Great view over the St-Lawrence, too.
We walked this park on several days just to enjoy the natural beauty. There are some spots with a river view. Today we visited the park museum, it's worth spending an hour or two there to learn about the history. This is a beautiful open space for walking, cycling, or picnicking. The flowers are worth the walk.
Peaceful place to chill!! Even at night ! You can chill on the grass and look at the clouds, play with a ball and friends and look at the fleuve st laurent!!
This is a very large outdoor area, somehow preserved within a busy city. Lots of walkways through the area, huge amount of greenspace to explore and take in the views. You can take the usual tourist path around to the area, or take an adventure up the almost 400 stairs up the cap-blanc stairway to the plains. Walk along the river, see the old houses, then make your way through side streets and to the bottom of the stairs to start the climb. It will seem like you're walking aimlessly to nowhere, but then you will see a steady stream of people at all hours of the day walking and running the stairs. There's a nice garden in the plains, and the area is surrounded by all kinds of hotels, restaurants and coffee shops to take a break in.
It's more about historical importance than an attraction. But the view of the St. Lawrence was pretty stunning. This is a large park area with cannons scattered around the perimeter. Lovely place to have a picnic on a summer evening.
Quebec City is a European city located in Canada. Great views of the city and the St Lawrence from the top. Nice relaxing spot.
A lot of history behind the place. One must visit to have a feel of the place.
There's a huge skating rink and a couple of museums, the place is interesting.
Lovely park with great views!
This may be one of the nicest parks we have ever been too. Well maintained and stunning views...
Beautiful park a must see
Love this place! You can park for an hour for free along the inside roads and enjoy the gardens, the trails, the military features or take a trip down the stairs. You will need plenty of water!
I recommend to visit Plains of Abraham in Quebec city. It will remind you how everything started in North America
A great park that should be taken in first with a Hop On Hop Off Bus Ride so you can get a full view of the large area. This history is fascinating and nothing that I learned in my History classes! I saw many locals jogging and pushing strollers as well as tourists walking around. We tried the Museum that was there and at $12 CAD, it was not worth it. The movie they showed was like a filmstrip from the 80s but narrated well. The very small two levels of items were like they tried to hard to find things to show about this area and battles and bordered on hokie. We were in and out in maybe 45 minutes and 25 of that was a movie--which is shown in English or French at different times. If you have a free pass, or a half price pass, then I'd say go for it, but do not pay full price.
Was exhausting walking with the steep inclines, but certainly worth the effort.
A place full of history! A green spot in the heart of Quebec city. To exercice, to spend good time with family and friends then this is your place. Around there are other nice places, like restaurants in grand allée or the famous places of old Quebec city.
Awesome place, allows on leash dogs and obviously pick up after them. Only issue is the bathrooms were closed due to covid!
Acres of green grass for picnicking. Great views of the St. Lawrence River...hiking.. swimming...and museums.
Beautiful setting and such a historic Canadian location. I learned so much. If you visit, plan to spend a good few days here exploring the museums, the setting, and great interpretive displays. Guides, staff & local residents are wonderful. I really enjoyed being able to speak French. Everyone was very helpful & encouraging with my very out-of-practi language skills. Bonus chance message amis!!
Beautiful! Lovely for a walk!
History and amazing views
This place is another tourist attractions to visit when going to Quebec city. Your mind will relive the battle of1759
Whoa, it's one of the biggest parks I've ever been to! I was amazed at how tall the hills were, and some inclines were steeper than 45 degrees. Quite the historic site with so many spots on the river to stop and take in the picturesque view. There is a museum there as well.
A beautiful place, full of history, great for picnic or a walk. Great landscape. You can't miss it
Calm n beautiful place
Perfect definition of a park. It is huge uniquely beautiful site that we love to visit as frequent as we can It's historic significance adds details to tell to our visitors in Quebec, however the scene is more that enough for most of them
Always a beautiful place to visit. We have been there before but at this specific place. The musée des Beaux Arts of QUebec was beautiful to see also. We walked only on the outside of the museum and it was great!
Beautiful spot to do picnics and see the St-Lawrence river. Also a nice spot to run!
We did the 2hr "free" town walk. Very informative, great knowledge of the history of Quebec. Asked for a "donation" at the end of $20 per person. We felt it was worth it.
Site of a historic 15 minute battle. Now this has lots of running and walking paths not far from the upper city and other more touristy landmarks.
Wonderful for a late evening walk in this season.
One of the most decisive battles in world history occurred here on September 13, 1759. It led to the fall of Quebec, which led to French defeat in the French and Indian War, the loss of Canada to the British, which led to British taxation against the colonies, their revolt, the French supporting them, and thus US independence. It also changed the future history of Canada. Despite this, there is not a battlefield here so to speak of. It's a very pretty place, but nothing like you would expect from even small US battlefields. There is a nearby museum that deals with the history of the battle, and a few monuments to the British and French, but overall this is a park, not a battlefield. Not that it's a bad thing, but don't expect too much.
350 steps up Governor's Walk....Promenade des Gouverneurs....but well worth it. Can continue around and on top of old wall for a nice walk.
Love it. In the winter, there is a large ice ring, ideal for younger kids and inexperienced skaters. It is better to get there early in the day when the ice is in better condition.
Lots of snow, a very nice hike on a sunny day.
Our guide told us the history of this park. That was very informative do your homework to enjoy more..
6:30 pm looking back to the crowd. I was at the Imagine Dragon show next to the stage!!!????
Well worth the stop. Tour is informative and funny! Beautiful grounds.
An incredible experience
So happy to got here while in the city and went for a run/walk through the park.
Nice historical place!
Sainte Joan of Arc is the best garden, a hidden gem
Quite an impressive area with excellent walks interspersed with points of interest. The walking paths are kept surprisingly clear - the photo is of one such path and you’d never know we’d received 5+ inches of snow the night before! Going off these groomed trails is also quite do-able, but winter boots and snow trousers will definitely be your friend. Many folks were also taking advantage of the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, both of which looked like a lot of fun. There also appeared to be some brilliant sledding hills! The area is very well signposted and there are appropriate descriptions of monuments, historical buildings, and artifacts that are scattered through the area. There are a great number of benches placed throughout the area, and I’d imagine that it would be a lovely place for a picnic in the warmer months.
Decent park. Excellent museums. My kid wanted to go back three days in a row. So we did. Very amusing and informative guided tour as well.
An important piece of Canadian history. Look it up - Plains of Abraham
Beautiful park. Have time to walk around/ bike if you have, see the battle feild reserves and the towers.
its a very nice and clean park. larger than I thought. The city itself is very clean and almost everything seems new or freshly renovated. I learned that the Germans helped the British in fending off American attacks in the late 1700s. I didnt get to see inside the Citadelle...so i will have to go back.
Beautiful park overlooking the St Lawrence River. Lots of history and museum to visot. Long promenade by the chateau Frontenac but lots of steps. Make sure you go down and not up. Lots of seating area to enjoy the scenery. A must see if you are visiting Québec.
Beautiful scenery and historical views
A well kept park with a fascinating history. Parks Canada staff were very informative about the specific locations where the battle took place and where each general was gravely injured.
Super place to run! Ana hike some trails or run the trails. Also excellent stair workout leading you down to the river.
