It’s a perfect place for paddling but not in the weekend. I’ll said I’ve never seen so many people since pandemic.

Galya Tchakarova

A great place for walking and relaxation! Visited both in summer and winter and enjoyed it equally! Highly recommend it!

Christie Brown

Nice shallow, sandy beach for little ones and shady trails for walking. Bring your bug spray!

Prasadgouda Mundinamani

Wonderful Place. 7$ entry fee for adult visitors and they also have some membership program for regular visitors. Nature lovers would definitely like this place.

Catharine Robinson

Great beach and shaded areas, washroom facilities are very poor, had to search for one only to realize it was an outhouse. Not impressed.

Carolina Miranda

A beautiful park with lots of amazing trails that run in old forest, along a creek, and amidst some old rocks. There is a small beach area that is perfect for families with small children (though it is unsupervised).

Shawn Ryan

I went canoeing in the water at this conservation area. It had a nice spot to drop your canoes/kayaks and motorized boats into. I spent around 3 hours canoeing around while my friends fished. We were there long enough to see a beautiful sunset over the water. This place does cost money to get in, which I cannot remember what I paid. It also has a beach area and a few trials.

Orblocator L

Well groomed. Gently rolling trails to give you good exercise.

Geyath Abbar

Always enjoy being at this park. Couple blocks drive from the city and you're in the country. Participated in the Shoppers run for womans health. Well groomed trails made the journey pleasant. It's always nice walking/running along with the beautiful scenes of nature on all sides of us. #celebrity_bucks

A nice well maintained park. Memberships are available or you can pay as you go. A clean beach area with plenty of picnic tables and a few public BBQs. A great little lake for fishing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. The trails are great for hiking all year long. There is now a little playground and beach volleyball nets

Awesome place. People are amazing with most social distancing and such. We throw our Waboba ball around and people dont mind as long as your respectful. I dont blaze or smoke on or around the beach area or children. We bring lots of snacks and drinks. And always sunscreen!! If you want a 5 star time come early morning 8-9ish or in the evening after 5-6pm. 8

Shades mill is fantastic. Events, hiking, water activities etc. The woods are so peaceful. I've been going here my whole life.

Andrea D'Ambrosio

We went for a gorgeous 2 hour hike today. Well marked trails and you can choose how long you want to hike. Easy hiking conditions with some uphill paths. Highly recommend.

Bren Irwin

Has some great trails to hike which are pretty well maintained. Nice lake for swimming and picnic tables for picnics. Restrooms are available. Costs money to enter, or you can get a Grand River Park Pass

Abdullah AlBiladi

Love this place. There are plenty of picnic tables, small beaches and two sandy volleyball areas. Furthermore, the washrooms are always clean. The entry fees are C$ 7 for adults, C$ 5.5 for seniors and C$ 3 for kids.

Hidden gem in Cambridge! Clean, well kept park. Beautiful trails.

Wonderful, beautifully kept getaway where you can spend the entire day soaking up the sun, swimming (and the water was not that cold trust me) volleyball or just building sand castles. They have ample parking space, picnic tables, and a huge field to do just about any sport that requires running. Oh by the way for the "beach" if you don't like to feel slush under your feet from the grass-seaweed-mud combo further out in the water just wear a wet-dry shoes because you can walk far out in the water as the slope is not steep at all. So keep the kids safe if they can't swim.

It is really fantastic, if you like dight seeing or taking photos , it is the right place to go .

Devin Jones

Nice and simple trails. The outer loop takes a decent amount of time to walk and it can get quite dark in there when the sun is setting. Love it for the convenient location. There is a $15.00 entrance fee when there is no attendant (Visa …

INSPIRING GREATNESS

Beach could be better but decently clean place

Thomas Robbs

Great place for a family hike. We went in the winter when the lake was frozen. A few ice fishers out there. There are lots of trails to take, but we were there for a short hike after a heavy snow so we just did a short loop around the …

Andrew Booth

Great place to walk the pup! Better in the early evening as not to busy. Awesome scenery

Sahr e Nature

Loaded with beauty of calm nature

Jessica Chong

What a lovely place! Spent the day here kayaking and it was so peaceful. It wasn't overly crowded but there is plenty of space to park. They have beach volleyball areas, shelters for rent, a designated beach and swimming area, a large boat launch area, and clean outhouse/toilets. The hiking trials are beautiful and low difficulty. Highly recommend!

Very happy to have access to a local, wonderful conservation area in the region. A great location year-round, but an especially great delight in the winter time. It is wonderful to watch people ice fish, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and enjoy nature. In these pandemic times it is heartwarming to see people reach out to nature as a provider of good memories.

Not a huge park by any means but has a nice beach area where the water is clean and shallow enough for kids in the swimming area. The beachfront has trees that create lots of shaded areas with picnic tables great for hanging out. Canoes and kayaks can be launched for a small boat launch to go around the reservoir. Washrooms are kept clean. Not a free park though and you pay just under $7 per adult instead of by car. There are in and out privileges if you keep your receipt. Dogs allowed on the park but not on the water.

Osama Wahib

We only went to the beach area which was amazing, nicely organized, clean, & was not crowd, next time we will try the hiking trails

Vitra Mohammed

Shade's Mills is our "go to" spot. Ample parking, lots of space to find a nice spot to picnic. Two Volly Ball sand courts, washrooms available and trails to explore. Dog friendly beach, but keep them on their leash when not in the water.

fcsquire

Lots of things to see and do. Swimming, hiking, biking, and oneness with nature. However, the cost is steep: $15 for a visit. This is the biggest downfall and probably the reason why we won't be back...

Ghada Hammouda

Nature play grounds are precious for children and adults as well

Akhil Nanda

Had great time with family. Clean water & parking is near the beach. Play area next to beach made my daughter fun day.

Adnan Siddiqui

Great for day picnics... Shelters, picnic areas, volleyball and beach... Also you can do BBQ

Mifrah Abid

Beautiful views of the lake. Great beach and beautiful trails and picnic area. The road outside leading to the park is also very green and gorgeous.

What a beautiful spot to spend the day. It's a hidden gem and gives you the feel of being far away from the city though it's pretty close to civilization. I mean if you wanna get out there and feel close to nature but don't wanna have a long drive then this spot is for you. You can go fishing, kayaking and play volleyball too. Lots of fun activities for kids and adults alike and the beach is great too. My dog thoroughly loved the seven different trails to choose from and enjoyed his dip in the water.

Hatim Masamra

Great place for families. Lots of picnic tables. Two beach volleyball courts. Clean washrooms. You need to arrive early as gate closes when park reaches capacity, which usually happens on warm and sunny weekends.

Lingchen Kong

In all grand river area, this is the best place to go for kids! Clean water and big beach area. Also many tables for BBQ. But you have to go early if you plan to at weekends. Most likely after 11:30 am will be full!

Mariecris Baricuatro

Good place for picnic.

Amy Pharoah

Positives: It has a sandy beach, and the water isn't rocky or weedy for swimming. The water only goes to a maximum of 4 feet deep, which is nice for young kids. They have picnic tables everywhere to eat infront of the beach. They have a little playground nearby. Their trails are lovely. It is quite affordable to go swimming. It costs only around $13 for me to swim with 2 kids. Negatives: The washrooms are deplorable. They are literally the worst ones I have ever been in. I can smell the washrooms 2 meters away. They have many flies inside and no sinks or running water to wash your hands. The toilets don't flush; they just have chemicals in them like an outhouse. Hand sanitizer is mounted outside. See my pics to judge for yourself. Tips: Change into your swimming gear before you arrive at Shade's Mill to avoid the washrooms, and drive wet home. If you want nice washrooms and a lovely swimming area, go to Valens, but it is more expensive. See my reviews if you are interested.

There are few exciting trails. 5 stars for the nature lol. Great location.

Laura Bevan-Stewart

I got a membership last winter for the cross country skiing trails. When we have enough snow, the trails are amazing! Unfortunately we haven't had enough to get out this year but I still love to walk all the trails at Shades Mill. I bring my dog and we get lost in the trees! Would highly recommend the trails here. I have not had the pleasure of using the beach yet, but it always seems to be busy!

Treanne C

Fresh air, Trails, clean lake to swim in, playgrounds and picnic areas. affordable for the family and not too busy during the week. :)

Dean T

Great day camps for school aged children. Well maintained conservation area very close to the south east area of The City of Cambridge. …

Nandini Palit

one of the best beaches around Mississauga. A very relaxing place. Clean beach. Really enjoyed our outing.

Rheal Dupuis

Ample parking and well maintained washrooms, lawns and beach areas makes this location pleasant to go to. Relax and enjoy yourself if you get a chance to go there.

Michele Dunsford

Diversified trails for walking, hiking or biking. Nice beach area. Some issues with littering along the trails and dog feces not being picked up by owners. Possibly due to increased usage but not acceptable.

Joshua Greenthorn

Great area for swimming! Can be a little busy especially with lockdowns which leads to a lot of trash being left around but still a really nice spot to bring your friends!

Brian Roberts

Great trails. Close location. Expensive fees. Love that's it opened all year round.

Roman

Beautiful, clean beach. Lots of shady spaces, picnic tables. Playground ???? great for kids. + trails!
