Great small park with a nice antique store across the street, visited this park for a few times, we drove directly from downtown Toronto and I bought my first present to my girlfriend at the antique store, took some really nice pictures by the side of the river.

This a personal favorite spot. A piece of tangible history in downtown Galt. Enough of the ruined Mill still stands to give you an authentic feel of the place of work for many of the residents back in the day. The grand river, now a heritage river, runs past on one side and if you're feeling peckish, LA Frank's is open during the summer!

Nice area for a short walk. Across the street from Cambridge Mill so it could make some nice wedding photos. The area was pretty muddy but that said it's early spring. There are some great portage areas here and some people were kayaking the rapids. I'd definitely come back. Free two hour parking and the area near by is beautiful.

This is an excellent spot. While many people like to hang out up top, I think the best part of this park is down by the river's edge. This is part of a large wall that helps protect downtown Galt against flooding, so on lower flow days, you can take some stairs down and walk along the concrete bank. There's also a very photogenic rocky outcrop towards the north end. Highly recommend it (if it's safe), but definitely be conscious if you're an unstable walker, or there is / has been rain.

You can see so many wonderful buildings that are integral to the city, and always something new happening. I took my prom photos here, and they were great :)

What a lovely city! It's amazing. The walk is very interesting and has a lot of places to visit and see. The fountain there is nice, stop by to take some pictures. Second time in a week went for a walk with my wife. Several homeless people all over the place. 2 had open beers on the go. 1 sleeping. 1 with only shorts and a toque, no shoes or shirt. 1 end at least half a dozen hanging out. No longer feel safe walking in our formerly beautiful river park.

L.A. Franks hot dog and hamburger stand is located here and is open in the summer. Well kept ruins of a former mill are used for live music, and often wedding parties use it for photos. Kayakers access the river from here and play in the eddies below the river. A walking path will take you down to the city centre.

Fell upon this place today while visiting the sites where the Handmaids Tale was partially filmed. Mill Race park was a great find. I was recently here for a wedding and it was lovely! A beautiful view of the river and access to the river bank a few steps away! Watch for needles though. A few of our less considerate cambridge citizens like to do intravenous drugs under the bridge and leave behind the pointy presents for you to step on. So if you don't want that worry on your mind, watch your step!

Go there two days ago. Not attractive at all. No flowers. Lawns look bad. My backyard looks much better than it. Totally a nasty place. Won't go there again.

I love it here. Street and lot parking free. Lots of room to roam. You can get near the river's edge. Scenery is beautiful. Many movie and television productions have been filmed here. Lots of wedding photos taken here to. Public bathroom. You must try LA Frank's open only in the warmer weather. Very popular and busy on summer weekends.

Definitely it’s a natural beauty But it’s not really a clean place like it could look better, I was able to find spiderwebs all over and it was just really dusty and dirty didn’t even look like they maintaining at all. I know it’s outdoor and it supposed to be a little dirty but still like if somebody is having a wedding there then they should at least clean it before the wedding day or get it cleaned. I’m not sure if the venue is for free or do you have to pay for the millrace park but even if they charge a certain fees and I have it cleaned before the wedding I think it’ll look better in pictures.

Based on the advice of Alltrails, a wonderful little hiking app, decided to try a more urban style walk along the river in downtown Galt. Had a nice time. Weather was beautiful for October. There were some picturesque locations by the river; in fact so picturesque that there were three different weddings all getting photos taken. There are a few great little independent coffee shops and cafes around, if you need emergency caffeine refreshment. Some limestone ruins, some interesting existing buildings. Free parking along the road, with a two hour limit, which is plenty of time to amble along the paths. Easy, easy hike of course - all paved level trails.
