Best visit to the Calgary Zoo yet! There were more animals to see at the zoo this sunny Sunday afternoon than during the middle of the summer. Lots of animals were out and were close to the fences to enjoy. We got to see all the animals in the Canadian area, including an eagle and snow owl. We got see a one week old baby zebra. It wasn't too busy today either, so you didn't have to wait for food in the cafeteria. There was a bit of a wait for our lattes attend Starbucks since only one person was working at the time.

A good place to go with family for BBQ, make sure you get there early in the summer as it seems to be a very popular place. Great place for a walk along the river, and area is quite maintained.

This place is inside of the Calgary Zoo near the Eurasian Animals Exhibit. Great place to sit and eat as there is plenty of shade and open areas. Also a good place for kids to run around and blow off some steam as there is a playground to enjoy with slides and climbing ropes.

It's a really nice park and had a fun experience. First time ever coming to this park, came with the wife and enjoyed all the walking paths. Nice areas for dogs as well, which I enjoyed as I do enjoy being around dogs.

Nice park near Bridgeland. There is some "bushy" space as well as some flat land grass. There is an off-leash area but it's mostly pathway that is shared with bikers so makes it a bit difficult for dogs.

Beautiful views. Nice trails. However, the play ground for the kids is quite small. There are a lot of dog walkers here. Some don't leash their dog. Some allow their dog to approach children. This can be a co concern.

It's a very nice park and excellent for jogging. However the photos here have nothing to do with the park. Bottomlands Park is located at the west side of Deerfoot Trail and its trail (Which connects to Nose Creek Pathway) is parallel to Deerfoot Tr. So there's no way you have Downtown view from there. The photos are actually from Tom Campbell's Hill Natural Area which is at the west side of the park and on a hill.

Beautiful park with walking trails, off-leash dog park and a great place to sit and eat lunch. Because of the whole off-leash thing you should be warned that dogs will try to eat your lunch. Offers a lovely view of downtown Calgary.

The Calgary Zoo is clearly hard at work preparing for the Pandas to arrive this Spring. I enjoy coming for short visits. I would love it if there could be some tips on what we can can do to help endangered and at risk animals at every display. I saw one in the Canadian Wilds exhibit regarding bears and how littering contributed to bears ending up in zoos. It was nice to be asked to fill in a brief survey when we were leaving.

Not sure why this is called bottomlands park???? It's the calgary zoo and it's awesome! Got seasons passes and don't regret it. Great for an afternoon or a day and at any time of year. Sometimes I just go here after work for a walk .

Great for hiking or biking. There is great access from all the communities around here to the major pathway system. Minutes from the zoo and TELUS spark. LRT is also close by so you can take the train if needed. Soccer field is in great shape and parking is available. One of the roads is in bad shape so drive slow by the soccer field itself.
