Always clean here to windy today
Fantastic place. Great for kids and families. Water is beautiful and perfect for camp and BBq
One of the best places to go for a family outing either for a day trip or for a camping get-away. …
Some of the pics here are in the wrong place. The pic is a high mountainous setting. I know this spot in British Columbia. Osoyoos is in wine country. That spit of land coming part way across the lake is Haynes Pt Provincial Park.Besides no mountains in this area. The other one has a high rise in the back ground. Not in Kinbrook island Provincial Park.Keep the pics to the local it was taken.
Lots of space to camp. Mostly flat terrain. Separate area for larger RVs near day use beach area. Electricity and fire pits included with most sites.
Great place, nice a quiet on weekdays.
ur MOM!!
Definitely busy on a weekend. I did find some people didn't follow the rules (ie dogs on the beach) but it's a nice beach getaway & the water was clean. Definitely bring water shoes as the waterside has lots of gravel & the sand is full of rocks & sticks.
Beautiful campground!
Quite, nice place.
Favorite camping spot for my team. Great sites. Well kept grounds. No real "beach" so much but still fun to play in the water. COs will ticket for open liquor if you're in the wrong place so behave!
We visited kinbrook campground over May long weekend for one night only since this was my first ever camping experience. Overall it was good. 2 hours drive from Calgary, Clean beach, family friendly with necessary amenities like power point, clean Fire pit, troublefree campers, flushable toilets, clean shower facility and laundry too. There was a small store as well that sells burger, hotdogs, fried, ice-cream, basic camping needs etc. So 5-stars for these points. Lots of mosquitoes which were taken care of by lot of bug spray. 1 star for presence of lot of dog poop on grass and gravel around campsite were staying at (J-171 and J-172). It was utterly disgusting to see dog poop all over. I tried to ignore but just can't seem to do it because you will notice dog poop everywhere. I don't understand why dog owners don't want to take responsibility of picking up dog poop. So basically we had to set-up our tents over dog poop and sleep on it and eat food with all that dog poop in sight :(. I hope dog owner campers will act responsibly some day and help to keep campsite free of dog poop.
Nice beach for the whole family, lake is man made but huge
We love the beach, the campground was okay, I'd like it more if there were more trees to separate the camp sites, but sacrifices must be made if you want to camp next to the beach.
Love it. Awesome place
Lots of people
We had fun!
Awesome provincial park. Kids loved it but convenience store way way over priced. Suggest bringing ur own food
Just 1 word - Awesome!!
Beautiful area - Camping, beach, boating, and fishing. Something for everyone!
Not crowded in October! Up
Nice beach. ???? In the summer always fully booked. ????
Fantastic place to go and well maintained
So green and full of birds, amazing trees and a wonderfull lake, and the campground are really good...the only thing I could see need an upgrade is the washroom...
Don't forget your swim trunks in the summer
Nice provincial park but if peace and quiet away from crowds is your objective then try it in the spring or fall. I give this park 4/5 stars for the day use area of the park. If you enjoy birding this is a wonderful place. Song birds to shore birds, numerous species nest here every summer. If you enjoy boating, this is a big lake. However not very deep and shallows do occur is some unexpected places. The beach is nice but can be a little rocky, plus busy in the summer. The water gets fairly warm as the summer rolls on. The park and picnic area adjacent to the beach can be full of goose poop and gopher holes. I give the campground here 3/5 stars. The spots are very close together in most places within the campground. Some are very open to the sun and therefore very hot in the middle of summer. They do have power within most of the campground. Plus they have onsite pay showers and laundry facilities. The campground gets very busy and noisy. I wouldn't consider it a great place to go if you want to get away from the city and relax away from people. But if you need a place with a few parks and playgrounds, a beach, hot showers and laundry then this may be it. Overall it's a nice park but if you like wildlife along with peace and quite, go during the shoulder season (May & Sept/Oct).
It has lots of camping spots it has nice trails a large lake that includes fishing boating and a beach for swimming it has bird watching not very many trees on campsites but there is some they have reservation ahead they also have an ice cream truck and bathrooms near the beach
Can't wait to make a yearly tradition coming here with friends! Wicked spot forsure
An amazing part to swim fish kayak and relax. Perfect for camper who want some amenities. All around amazing
This was a fantastic day trip destination. Plenty of activity, tasty treats, and space at this time of year.
Dirty water... never go again
Oh my. Never thought that such a Beautiful place existed so close to Brooks. We drove from Chestermere and it was a trip worth it.
Lovely, bit to gravely, but lovely. Great camping, nice spots to park trailers, quiet peaceful.
While it is becoming more popular, Kinbrook Island Park is a fantastic place to go camping. Right on an amazing lake for boating and sailing (an established sailing club is attached to the campground), with a good beach and boatlaunch right in the campground. Close to dinosaur park and a few other attractions and destinations but best suited for a relaxing camping trip to swim, boat or walk/run/cycle. I can't recommend this place enough.
Camped during the shoulder season. Decent facilities and great lake access
Great place to camp. But sometimes a bit windy
Awesome place..best when planned over weekdays. Do try to bring floaties, bbq and a tent.
This is a little oasis on the prairies
Peaceful. Great for families. Clean and well maintained.
Bird haven and beautiful campground with room to roam .
The campgrounds and bathrooms are really well maintained. They have a laundromat as well - which we didn't use but it's cool that it's on sight. They have coin operated showers as well which is great. The campground is irrigated which is neat, all the grass was green and alive instead of dead. The only downside is it's a bit windy and buggy. But nothing bug spray and another sweater can't fix.
We had our first family camping here. Liked very much
Family friendly, decent sized lots.
Amazing...very clean ...nice view..BBQ aloud... good for swimming
When were there is was z bit cool and windy, so we had a lot of space to ourselves. The Beach was a bit rocky near the water, but I'm assuming that it was like that because it was so wavy a lot washed up on the shore. You need to book in advanced to guarantee a spot. It's nice that there is a bathroom with showers and you can get cleaned up.
Great park only 2 hours from Calgary
place is pretty !! clean location , venue is nice and good for relaxing and having fun !! 5 Stars
Loved the fishing and camping!
Love this spot! So peaceful
It's our second time it's really quite compare last year.and there no water yet but over all clean and quite really have a peaceful night Will be back again
Kinbrook Island is a provincial park about 15 minutes south of Brooks. The park is comprised of a day use area with a beach, picnic tables, and a few BBQ's. There is ample parking, washrooms, shower and laundry facility. Supposedly there is a concession onsite, but I was closed when we visited. There was a food truck selling ice cones and frozen treats. There is a campground, some with power, most without. The beach is sandy, with some rocks, but the water was clear and there is a section cordoned off for swimmers. There is a boat launch also. Pets are allowed, but not on the beach according to official signage. Show up early for the best spots.
One of the best place to camped with friends and families
Beautiful day use beach and amazing campgrounds. The day use areas have tables as well as camp stoves for you to use. The stoves are two styles a variable level bbq style or a pit style bbq. Come prepared with your beverages, snacks, and cooler. Don't forget your sunscreen and some portable shade but most of all HAVE FUN.
All in one there’s camping sight and picnic area, fishing area, boating . The place so amazing when I see this, I fell so relaxed and peaceful. I want to come back again.
We'll be back in the summer. I never knew this place existed and is so close to Calgary.
It's nice place to visit and have Campground
Amazing place and excellent for camping.
Decades of fun have been had at this park. Beautiful country, very well kept and updated amenities over the years. Great stuff for the kids and if the weather permits, one of the best boating lakes in Alberta. 5* since i was a kid.
Great location, excellent facilities. Love the beaches. 10/10 works recommend, especially for families.
Nice place to chill out!!
Beautiful
Beautiful.
Nice place overall. Family vibe campground (recommend loops a-f, the others are basically open fields for giant rv's). Nice beach for Alberta, but busy with families daytripping from Calgary. We had the good fortune of spending two nights here when the weather was a perfect 25c and clear skies.
One of the best place to spend whole day with family and friends
A good day at the lake. Awesome
We used the day-use area. It was fun spot to barbeque. Located 2 hours east of Calgary, near Brooks.Has a beach as well. Clean washrooms. Good size parking lot for the day-use. We went during Canada Day weekend and it was very busy.
Amazing
Beautiful clean lake, lots of parking spots but not enough picnic sites to use. The beach gets crowded fast come early.
Excellent place to camp. The lake is a bit rocky so bring your water shoes. The bathrooms/outhouses are amazingly clean!! Kudos to the staff for their hard work!!
Always so busy (beach and to book sites), campsites often smell strongly of urine, dogs barking, hand sanitizer is often out at the washrooms, loud traffic at night driving through the park. I keep giving it a chance but I’m consistently disappointed.
Large lots, warm water. Clean facilities
It's a swimming sea A good place to go to
Our favourite place for camping!
Beautiful beaches that are not crowded. Though the residents can be kinda stuck up..
Nice place, but has some of the most disrespectful boaters I've seen
Excellent spot to enjoy the greenery and lake water. Can play volleyball on the beach, kids have a decent play area. Fire pits available for BBQ.
PLEASE KEEP OFF OF THE GRASS SHINE YOUR SHOES AND WIPE YOUR....... Spectular boat launch, when beach goers aren't using up the boat trailer parking. Beware of human ducks swimming in the boat launch area. An entire stretch of beach at your disposal but the allure of a leisurely swim is nothing compared to the exact same activity with the added adrenaline of a stainless prop spinning mere yards away from your bare legs. Human fed seagulls crying at the crack of dawn are another majestic offering of this beautiful park.
Best place to camping
Watch out - this place is set to be removed from the parks system, meaning it will no longer be subject to the protections that it enjoys now. This will open it up for future development. If you don't want to see this happen, contact your MLA, Environment Minister Jason Nixon, and Premier Jason Kenney to tell them you oppose this plan.
Great camping. Expect heat, it's a desert like environment. Cacti grow all over. Drive around and find the best site available. Look for shade quality. Great staff, great programs, excellent tours, showers are nice.
Great campground with beautiful views of the sunset at night. You WILL need lots of bug spray!
Great facilities here, the new boat launch is really nice, although some more docks would be nice.
Nice provincial park, friendly staff. Shower house is dated. New boat launch and dock.
We have camped there three times - twice was amazing, once it was so windy we left.
Hidden paradise nearby
Beaatch life
It was amazing!
Nice place...great access to the water. Well kept - the facilities were pretty nice. All the outhouses were well kept. Our favourite place to go. Bar none...
Nice place to take the family, Bring your own shadow, you will need it and get there early for a good spot
It's a nice spot for a picnic and a swim
We absolutely love this campsite. There's so much joy in the water for our family. We spend all day at the beach... And soak up the sun. The campground itself is protected from a fireban (if and when they're in force) due to being an island where if there was a fire, it couldn't escape!! Yes - all photos taken by me and a drone!
Great place to relax
Great place for young families. Nice beach area and fantastic boat launch facilities. Camping sites very well laid out.
Nice beaches. Bathrooms and picnic tables available. There is a children's playground, marina and boat launch.
100% recommend! Loop J is in the wide open field so if that’s not your thing I’d recommend any of the other loops. Bathrooms were well maintained and they had a staff member monitoring the number of people in the flush/shower washrooms. Nice parks for kids, open spaces, super nice beach (it’s a bit rocky especially at the beginning but bring water shoes and you’re good to go!) Well worth the drive from YEG if you’re staying a few days!
avoid the row by F-83. You will be camping in some else's backyard.
Good place for ???? getaway
(Translated) Beautiful place to spend the day or overnight. Dogs are allowed but not in the beach area (Original) Hermoso lugar para pasar el.dia o pasar overnight. Perritos son permitidos pero no en el area de la playa
It was amasing
Lit
Huge beach area, warm water, lots of picnic space, they have a cafe over there, shower place, playground - all you need for nice summer recreation!!
Great place to have fun with family enjoyed alot
Great place to camp and for day visits
A surprisingly great getaway. 2 hours from Calgary, electricity hookups on site, flushing toilets and $1 showers (wash quick!), and one big beach and a smaller quieter beach, makes Kinbrook Island a wonderful summer weekend retreat. Check …
Been coming here fir 15years, love it.
Beautiful!! Clean facilities, very peaceful and quiet!
Beauriful place to visit almost 2 in Half hours drive from Calgary. Free parking free Handicap Parking. Benches available but I will prefer to bring youe own rug to sit on grass Barbecue facility available here public washrooms Handicap washrooms available as well. Boating, swimming, Trailers and ⛺ Camping facilities as well. Mostly it's busy and crowded COVID-19 please follow Safety SOPs and standars for your safety Ns others as well. Strongly recommend for friends ans followers. PS closest Tim Horton is in Brooklyn If you are here with Trailer or for Camping you have to register yourself there.
Love the beach, the powered sites, the coin showers, the convenience store but hate the mosquitoes! Bring citronella candles and bug spray!
Huge beach it almost makes you forget you're in a lake. Kid friendly, camp area, boats, all great.
Excellent little spot. Clean but small beach. Concession stand. Enjoyable even if smoky from BC fires. Boat and swimmer friendly.
Excellent place for toddlers, babies and kids.
Always a great time at Kinbrook, fun for kids and family. Kids discover wildlife and release of course at the end of day, lol. If they had sewer at each RV site it be Awesome!!!!!
Kids like the place.
Great place to spend your day. The parking structure is able to accommodate many cars and trailers. Campground is excellent to spend the weekend. Good place to bring children. "Beach" area is also good, there is playgrounds and many picnic tables. Go early on the hot days because there is so many people to enjoy the water
Amazing beach camping spot. Great for tents and kids. Best in sunny weather. Recommend the Asian and Western buffet restaurant in town on rainy nights.
Lots of places to sit
We liked this place a lot - possibly because the weather was amazing so we made full and total use of the beach. Which was GREAT! But if it wasn't beautiful outside, I'm not sure what else we'd have done? Still, we had a great weekend here and will be back (with our fingers crossed for hot weather!).
Very peaceful and quiy
Family favorite!
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day visit to this beautiful, well-run, family-friendly treasure. Staff were helpful and friendly. Be sure to take the 4.5 km walking trail around the marshland bird sanctuary. We will certainly be back.
We love it here - especially the older sites in loops A,B,C,D,E,F. Most sites (except for loop B) have 30Amp power. The washroom and shower facilities are clean and well-maintained and potablt water is easy to find throughout. They also irrigate the lawns to allow the campers to enjoy campfires all season long.
Wonderful place
Beautiful sunsets and well kept facilities. Our go to place to unwind 2 hrs from Calgary.
Very clean
Nice provincial park, great fishing, most ppl. pick.up.after their dogs. Only water and power, no full service. Sani dump on your way out. Only one shower shack and that is way over at main campground so if you're at the south end it's a long hike. #debmur
Great beach area. Sites aren't very private but a nice park.
Very nice place to enjoy with family and friends!
Quiet place for a walk this time of year
Great escape in the Praries! Big spacious beach on a huge lake. Highly recommended!
This campground just did not work for us. Lack of privacy, lots of bugs, few things to do within driving distance, and an extremely crowded beach that was not very clean. For us, Gull Lake, Crimson Lake, Fish Lake, Beauvais Lake and Beaver Mines Lake were far better options, for beaches and/or outdoor activities. We will not be back.
A warmer place to camp
Pretty nice beach at this campground. Well maintained, but very busy. Lake is good for fishing and swimming.
You will be pretty close by to other campers, a lot of noobie campers use this site so expect people who do not have great camping etiquette. The facilities are decent but definitely heavily trafficked so expect more stank. The lake is nice but we did not find the downsides worth being by a lake.
We had a great time with family. The beach was nice and clean but water was cold. Park area was good too, but washrooms were not clean. Make sure you take portable shade with you. There are benches and BBQ pits provided.
Quiet place
Very nice
Sunset by the beach is a must see! Facilities were clean and tidy. Friendly staff. We were lucky to meet cool people next to us.
Great family place, play ground, clear water, lots of shades, sand and green grass, warmest lake in Ab
Nice campsite , good service
It was so peaceful and serine here. A park as well as swings jn the beach itself. Plenty of lake toys provided by the park. And plenty of parking and picnic area.
Great campsite close by to Calgary. Great lake to use if you go boating. Remember to bring mosquito repellent, lots of mosquitoes. Downfall, the showers and flushing toilets facility close by 8:30pm. Overall pretty good campsite on an island.
Great campsite but the worst showers I have ever seen.
Great lake. Day use area is nicely shaded.
I had a nice time out with family here on the beach. very memorable.
Loved in summertime
This is one of our favorite places to camp. Lake Newell is big enough for motor boats and swimmers. The Beach is a bit rocky in spots so water shoes are recommended. Bring some floaties because you can go out a ways before you reach the buoys. There is firewood to purchase for 8 dollars and a store down by the beach. The pit toilets are clean and not totally smelly. We didn't use the shower house while we were there so I can't comment on that. The sites aren't too open in most of the park but the ones next to the beach were wide open. We loved this park and will likely stay for much longer next year.
I was pleasantly surprised. We snagged a site in D-loop. The sites are well spaced and the south loops, at least, are open, treed and park-like. As some other reviewers have noted, noise can be an issue, but l travel with ear plugs anyway, because you can't expect everyone to be courteous, responsible adults, and even responsible adults sometimes are unaware of the noise that they are creating. I will definitely visit again.
Great Albertan oasis. A gem on the prairie landscape. Beautiful beach, fairly level sights, pleasant calls of marsh and other prairie birds. Potable water is nice to drink. Sights are easily accessed by trailers and large units.
Nice place...
Beautiful lake. It's a little rocky coming in and out of the water... but for an Alberta beach, it is gorgeous. I felt like I was in Mexico.
Great boat launch and amazing fishing . 10lb + walleye and 30lb+ pike everyday of the week.
Day use area and boat launch are great. Most campsites are treed and offer some shade. Loop J is new and basically an open field with a few saplings. Very spacious. The one shower house is disappointing. Two loonies for two minutes, and short supply of warm water.
Nice lake and camp ground.
Beautiful park and a beach close to the city.
Very good and clean campground. Nice having brooks nearby. Make sure to check out jbs canada centre in brooks
A birding oasis! Rarely have I seen or heard so many breeds in one place. I am grateful to Alberta Parks for this man-made habitat, and would recommend everyone make the trip here. …
Best place for picnic, barbecue and swimming.
Nice lake for the kids to swim at, lightly treed sites. Oasis in the prairies
Best prairie beach I've been to
Beautiful beach. Water was cold to touch but as long as the sun is out. Once you got in you don't want to come out. It is partly sand partly small rocks at the water level. Water is very clear and quite clean. You can ever see small fish coming and going. It is crowded here so try come at odd time for a relaxing time.
Beautiful, well maintained provincial campground. Clean showers, kid friendly beach and playgrounds. Good boating, fishing and various watersports in Lake Newell. Concession with snack shack food, ice and basic groceries. Power in most RV sites and firewood available at the reservation booth.
Love it!
????
Cleaned and nice to relax
Beautiful place
Love the beach and lake - great for a day trip with the family (boating, fishing, beach day)! The camping sites are very close with minimal privacy from neighbours, so we prefer camping elsewhere for that reason. The park is always clean and the concession store for snacks and ice cream is very convenient with being out of town.
Great spot, nice water and awesome beach. Can be windy at times.
Love this park. It's a bit of a drive for us but it's worth it.
(Translated) Wonderful place (Original) Maravilloso lugar
Amazing place for everyone
Nice campsites, decent beach and well treed
Most places, if you go mid-week, are relatively quiet. The same cannot be said for kinbrook island. It is claimed that there is good fishing but nowhere does it state you must own a boat to do so because it is ONLY in the middle of the lake. The youngish girl working the concession stood chatting with a friend for a good 10 minutes while i waited to buy something only bothering to look up when was on my way OUT the door. The children do not bother me, except when their parents cannot keep them in their own campsites or public areas. (My campsite is off limits unless i invite you over)
Lots of spots of bbq and playground near beach nice spot day use and camping
Really fun place. Family oriented
Clean, warm water and a beautiful sandy beach. Large open body of water means you can always find a quiet spot on the lake.
Best lake ever
A nice lake with a small convience store and ice cream. The swimming area has a sandy and slightly filthy beach, but it's not bad. Rocks in the water off the beach are a bit uncomfortable to walk on. Plenty of people enjoy boating and seadooing on this lake and the campsite is quite nice.

Nice Samdy beach
Nice place for good food and good drinks
A very pleasant beach to spend a day on
(Translated) Beautiful place! (Original) Hermoso lugar!
Beautiful place for kids !
Beautiful place, and plenty of trees.
Nice Large area, camping and daytime and lake use
Great beach and campground. A line up to get water as there was only one tap open. Otherwise a very nice spot.
Very nice place for camping but be prepared for mosquitoes.
Nice lake and beach. Camp grounds are OK. Quite a bit to do.
Warm and hot
Good clean place. Nice beach and lake. Great for kids.
Great camp ground for families
sites are to close together
Love it
Marvelous view, but hard to book during hot season
love the place. always come back to enjoy the nature, lake and pelicans.
Clean toilets. Good showers. Friendly checkin and service. Some people that didnt camp there did not follow the rules of the road.
Good campin!
Awesome campsite. Lots of space between sites and a lot of privacy. The bathrooms are really clean. The staff definitely put the effort in keeping it clean. I should know, cause i was waiting to use it haha! There are running taps with potable water, which surprised me considering covid (though showers are still closed). The beach was decent too, at least he kids really enjoyed it. Nice little getaway that's not far from Calgary at all. Definitely worth a return if you can score a reservation.
The best place to spend with family over the weekend
I absolutely love Kinbrook island AKA LAKE Newell, recently they changed the picnic table and added more... They have bathrooms, and manhole (kid of bathroom but not really) as well as change rooms. They have a canteen stand which sells snacks, food, beach toys, and the best ice cream... Aside all of these awesome items there is a camping ground near the beach where there are fire pits, picnic table and space enough for family of 5 on trailer. You could also reserve yourself a spot further away from the beach where you can still swim, fish and have your own small building spot... Mostly reserved for bigger groups... Along the beach there is several trees picnic table and fire pits... However dogs/lets can not be off leash, you cannot make you own fire pit, and the LAKE closes at 10:00
Not as dog friendly as expected. Arrived to 34 degree after driving 2 hours in my car with no a/c, expecting to be able to take my daughter and black lab to the water as soon as we arrived. It is difficult to enter the water in designated areas for dogs (according to website) due to large and slippery rocks and a strong tide. Had to release her in the water herself which isn't allowed as dogs are supposed to always remain on leash, but at that point I was scared for her well being. Going back and forth trying to keep daughter cooled off at one beach before going back to the sweltering car to drive to another area to take my dog in the water became quickly frustrating and gave me no chance to to be in the water myself. Would love if they would section off a small beach area for families with (leashed) dogs, but obviously not a priority. I was SO thankful the booth attendant informed us of another close by campground with an actual dog beach just a 5 minute drive away which was our saving grace for the afternoon! As for our campsite I really appreciated that it had trees and shade and surrounded by nice grassy areas. But with that came hundreds of bugs in our tent. I typically camp in mountains with mostly evergreens and maybe some mosquitos. Sadly there was the large motorhome next to us that ran their her loud A/C unit all night and I got next to no sleep because of it. I loved that the campground had a drinking water tap and outhouses were cleaner than I'm used to. Also, you really can't complain about the beautiful sandy beach and crystal clear swimming. All in all I will definitely plan a day trip back here with my daughter, but not another camping trip.
Nice
Our first time visiting and it will definitely become our go to place each weekend. Beautiful green spaces and great access to the water with lots of shade to help the none swimmers stay cool.
Great place for camping in southern Alberta. Sites are big, but not very secluded. Beach is large and the water is good for swimming. The water isn't clear, but there isn't much seaweed in the swimming area. Showers takes loonies, laundry is available, concession is overpriced, which is to be expected. Outhouse in our camping area is immaculate. Very clean, little to no odor, always stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer. The irrigation system comes on once a week for 4 hours in the middle of the day. Pokemon stops throughout the park and a gym at the entrance.
Beautiful park
We shall be back!
Good place
Great place for the whole family
Had to dip my B.C. babe in the lake
Great Beach, clean lake, good for tent or rv camping.

Liked all the trees and birds. Campground is in great shape. We will definetly go back!
We love this place, beautiful beach and warm water, perfect for kids
This is truly a great campground! We've been here a couple of times and it has been wonderful. It can get windy at times and cell coverage isn't great but overall it is great. The entire campground is irrigated so fire bans don't seem to be an issue. The beach is good, lots of sand and the water isn't too deep. There's also a couple good places to fish off the shore right in the park. Great place to bring the kids and have a really wonderful time!
Beautiful

Beautiful and relaxing
Nice place to camp, it's clean has everything you need. Can be a little noisy from party campers. But that is everywhere. Nice trails and lots of birds to check out. Fishing in the lake from shore was uneventful.
Great Beach
Very nice
the park is so beautifull...
Great picnic place and campgrounds for family and friends. A lot space for parking and picnic area. Place is well treed as well.
Beautiful lake, very quiet
Nice beach, but with more ???? and privacy between sites it would be amazing campground
Enjoy lot Not much crowded
Really well kept facility, beautiful beach and water is great to swim in (a little rocky so just bring water shoes or slides to protect feet)! Highly recommended. 2019- said concession was closed, but can find items in Brooks if need. Firewood, showers, water on site. Happy camping!
My favorite campground.
Place is very family friendly, big sandy beach, open water horizon, shady gardens and always clean washrooms
It's great by the lake and with the beach. The facilities could be better. The portion of the campground I was in was lacking trees. I prefer being amongst the trees.
Amazing beach ⛱
First time here at the end of the summer and we were impressed, with what the campground had to offer. We had a site with the older well established grounds/trees so great shade and privacy. Lots of trails and paths to adventure on for families. Beautiful views around on the island and a few spots to go swimming. Water is quite warm too. Only thing to know, is that it can get tremendously windy at times so prepare for the right attire to wear. Outside of how windy it was, everything else was well enjoyed and clean grounds. And if you need anything, there's a Walmart/grocery stores in Brooks, which is about 15 mins drive away.
Wicked beach. Water was super warm.
A very large lake and spacey campground.

Trees and lake and beach
Absolutely amazing... very nice place, you can bring your own food, there is a new spaces. Wonderful place to spend your day Or camping.
My family loved this place. We had a ton of fun the whole time. We spent 3 nights there and it was great. Only thing I felt was a bit more trees would have made this place a lot better and shady at some places and less noisy at night ( as trees absorbs sound as well)
What a beautiful place to spend your holiday
Nice lake , not too cold. Bring water shoes!
One of the best RV family camp in Alberta; only 2 hours away of Calgary.
It's ok but I won't return nor recommend... I regret ever complaining about Sylvan lake which is much better!.. this lake on the other hand is in the middle of nowhere. It's July & water is cold af.. good for kids 10 & under they won't know the difference between good lake n bad lol.. lots of parking, spacious campground walking distance..
I love it! It's clean and organize.
Big sandy beach with clear swimable lake water. Decent campsites too.
Beautiful place to relax and unwind
Kids had a great time swimming here, they camped with friends really enjoyed them selves
Nice place to visit.
Beautiful
Beautiful campground, clean water in the lake, nice big campsites and plenty of space for campers. Will definitely camp here again!
Well maintained huge sites and was a fantastic long weekend.
Serendipitous
Lovely, coffee shop right on the beach and other things )))
Nice campsite
Very fantastic place for outdoor picnic. Spacious and clean.
Best experience over
Beautiful provincial park with great beach
One of the best places to visit in Alberta.
Amazing place drove 3 hours to spend to the day there and wish we had 10 more. Beautiful place amazing water and the fishing is great.
(Translated) Nice campsite, nice beach, great customer service, $ 1.00 for 2 minutes of showers, lots of people on site. Don't expect the tranquility of a wilderness campsite. (Original) Beau camping, belle plage, service à la clientèle super, 1,00$ pour 2 minutes de douches, beaucoup de gens sur le site. Ne vous attendez pas à la tranquillité d'un camping sauvage.
One of the best places I have ever stayed. We arrived late and made to feel very welcome and great customer service. Beautiful spot!
Very clean and tidy. Great for kids, not far from Calgary.
What a wonderful beach on a large lake! Even when busy, there is plenty of space for parking and on the beach itself. It can get a bit stupid with the paddle boards and floating boats constantly coming in and out of the water, and …
A nice place to visit that is close to home. Great lake, great amenities good value
Clean sandy beach nice weather perfect place for anything with friends and family
People observed physical distancing and maintain the cleanliness of the park. Shower room and wash room is clean.
Good Provincial campground. Could use better showers.
Pleasantly surprised. Nice campground, especially considering it is in the middle of nowhere prairies of Alberta. Nice lake. Nice beach. Lots of amenities for young kids such as playgrounds, ice cream shop and a little marsh trail. Only downside was the sites were not as sheltered as we like, but it is the prairies. We will definitely be back.
Loved it ????
Nice Park. Free daily entrance.
Great campground, park, beach
Nice place!
Spent 4 days there a couple weeks ago. Has power but not full hook for sewer. But that's alright. The spacious sites were well worth it. And they have dump stations near by. Great place to spend time with family and Lake Newell is great!
Didn't camp, use the day use. No charge for day use. Great dock. Fishing was great. Surprised that anyone could park where you would park your boat.
Really helpful staff. No reservation and they found us good spot. Lovely campsite for walk about, nature and clean air. No dogs on beach, so we had good day walking trails and checking out little paths that ket dogs get feet wet!
Good
That's what a well run campground should be. Highly recommended
Always booked. Good rest fishing and camping.
Favorite park so far. 2h 15 min from Calgary. Road is not busy to get there. You can do swimming, boating, canoeing, fishing, birding, biking, hiking. Camping ground is decent with flush toilet and showers. Some camping site has more shades then others. They were not too far from each other. Water is quite shallow for small kids, tons of families enjoyed the beach in this hot summer .Birding is great we saw black tipped pelicans and more. Has cute concession bldg sells yummy ice cream. Only drawback many people has dogs ( us too we arrived with 2) but beaches were not dogfriendly. Still lots of dogs were in water thankfully campsite attendant was not forcing rules if you were away from main beach area.
Campsites are amazing. Beach is great when the wind is not blowing! It can get very windy!
Great place to vet away from the city.
Perfect place for families with children
I can't believe that a such beautiful lake can happen inland in our beautiful southern Alberta! Will be back soon!
Very nice park. We went to the day use area. Lots of picnic tables. …
Good place for camping.
Nice campground and nice lake.
Always great. Good walking and bird watching.
What a beautiful park to visit, not the best experience as we stayed in site J which has no trees for shade etc. It is just a big field and dont recommend if you are tenting due to the wind and heat. This campground has laundry, showers, and washrooms that make for a nice and convenient trip. The beach gets super busy at times with not a lot of places to stay, it is patrolled by Alberta Parks and you have the potential of being pulled over and inspected before you hit the island. Very close proximity to Brooks which has stores, restaraunts, etc. I would not recommend the ice cream at the store on the beach its not the best and prices for food are outrageous for what you get. Overall its a family fun place to visit and recommend visiting atleast once in a lifetime.
New areas for walk and bank. Nice pleace
This place is great I can see why it is constantly booked. There is so much to do you will never get bored
Oasis on the prairie!
Amazing little spot!
Its so nice ... a great family place... great beach can swim kids can play with sand & also has a small palygroud ... can do BBQ & sitting arrangements for Lunch is good too... a small trail for walking... has a small shop can find some food coffee icecream.. In short a perfect place to have fun
I spent most of my days here than at home. Great for picnic, camping and fishing
The beach is good, clean washrooms. If they can install sinks where people can clean their dishes that would be nice.floating live band entertainment was superb.
Love this park.
Great Family Camping.
Would be a really nice place to camp if even just a little of the money went into the bathrooms. Women have the kids and the needs for functional bathrooms, sinks, and showers. Only one toilet worked and it was close to tipping from people standing on the rim. 2 sinks out of four working and Not for social distancing rules. 2 showers out of order, full of pools of water from wear, curtains barely on the racks. No hooks to hang clothes or towels. And I had young mothers with little children running up and down looking for somewhere to go. And I do not remember seeing any baby changing stations. Iv been here 3 days so far and the entire campground including beach and dock was PACKED with paying people using the area. With only one functional bathroom building that the family's and residents Need, you'd think they would put even a little money into up keep.
We come here in a group of 3-7 families every year for the past 5 yrs. It is child friendly for sure!!! Too bad the concession on the beach is closed!!!
Great campground need to enforce quiet hours better and they should clarify "First come first serve" means show up at 6am to try and get a spot
Good place to take the family beach fishing hiking camping lots to do.
Large campsites, very clean and extremely helpful staff
Love the place
Beautiful place to camp. Will be on our yearly camping trips now.
Fantastic beach. Seems to be getting too popular though. Everyone's finding out about this hidden gem. One piece of advice. Arrive with water. Only one potable water fill up that connects with your hose
Very nice campground and facilities but there were lots and lots of mosquitoes and other insects when we stayed.
Love Kinbrooke camping and love the day use area. The beach has some small rocks that can hurt to walk on but I just wear water shoes. The lake is clean and not cold...and was very refreshing on these hot days. The campground is always clean and I have never had issues with partiers
Water was tempid. Sand was alittle rocky but what else would you expect for dry land Alberta.
Beautiful lake for sailing, fishing, swimming, etc. BUT it is a large lake surrounded by flat land. Be aware of how fast the wind can change conditions!
me and my family love this place very much
This is a nice quiet campground to visit. The sites are well maintained and there is lots of shade for those hot summer days.
Such a great place to camp. So much open green space for the kids and lots of trees for shade. Water views from so many places and nice to spend time at the beach! We will visit again for sure. Very well maintained.
Amazing place
I love this place especially for kids too.
This is a great place to visit in the Brooks/County of Newell. I haven't been there in a while but it looks like they redid all the seating area by the concession which looks great!
It's a beautiful (man made) lake with a stretch of sandy beach, warm water, and has a grassy treed area for relaxing. Not very crowded like others. It also has a great camping area.
Great camping quiet
OMG!! Such a lovely beautiful place to enjoy with your family and friends!!
ok beach and camping
Best area for enjoying water play like ocean in Alberta
Great campground clean facilities with lots of paper and sanitizer
Great family spot
How is the over night temp?
Super huge lots, the beach is beautiful, tons of wildlife. I can't wait to go back
Poor lawn poor enforcement over all need to look after the campground not destroy it
Great beach, great campsites, beautiful sunsets. Been going here since I was a kid.
Lovely prairie lake and park area. Swim, boat, fish, BBQ......lovely area
This is very nice place to spend the day, go to the beach to swim, kayak or sun bathe. The water is not too cold. It gets really busy on weekends and even though there is plenty of space to sit and lay your towels, I reccomend to arrive early to get a table if you want to cook. There are a few with bbq. There are bathrooms and showers across the street. Camping here is nice as well. aprox 7min walk to the beach, wood and ice sold here. There are mosquitoes so bring repellent.
Beautiful
Nice place to chill n relax
Great campground with huge, warm lake and wonderful beach.
Well taken care of, washrooms were always clean. One serious downfall is the beach. The sand has more gravel in it than most of the roads and the beach is littered with cattails stalks that have washed up. Convenience store at the beach was very lacking. We had run out of syrup and there was none. The above 2 drawbacks aside, we will definitely be back. Thanks to all the courteous staff.
Awesome place to relax
I went here for camping. Great for families or first-time campers. Busy, noisy, and crowded. But... nice beach and plenty of drinking-water and bathroom access. The water is beautiful, especially along the marsh trail. Camp loops A-F are nicer and less crowded. Sites G-I are less private and quite busy.
Lovely place to hang out in Brooks,Ab.
I went camping at Kim Brooke for the long weekend it was very hot out that weekend I spent a lot of time at the beach it was very great if you have a family and kids going to Camp there
Lots of power sites and definitely the best lake for camping in southern alberta without driving up to the likes of sylvan, gull or pine lake.
Good place
Pretty good, beach was a bit rocky but quite a few playgrounds
Nice surprise stopping at this place on my way to Brooks!
Lots of trees. Nice lake for fishing and swimming
I never stayed in the campground. I went fishing, and we caught lots. You're not allowed to keep Walleye or Pike, but you can still catch them. And catch them we did. Over fifteen fish in a day. There are lots of people here, and you can't drink on the water. Still worth every second. I'm coming back, again and again.
Only one washroom with running water exists. Everywhere else is just toilets, no washing hands, nu teeth brushing. LOL. Check-in time is at 4 pm and they don't let you at campsite before that, they make you go to a sh*ty place called group camping. Lack of washrooms with water is the worst problem here. This can be a windy place, beach can be windy.
Beautiful place to kick back and enjoy the outdoors! The staff is friendly and helpful.
Kinbrook, been here 3 times this summer, really love this place so much to do, biking, boating or just relaxing on the beach. Pretty safe rangers are driving around throughout the night.
It was very clean and well organized. Perfect for families.
Love this place. I wish it was a bit closer to Calgary. Ample spots for family events but they go fast.
Nice one day excursions place.
Nice campground, good fishing.
Well kept park. Beach is a little rocky, but still nice.
Great marsh walk (4.5 km) and place to use your water Toys (kayak, paddle board etc.). Windy and some small choppy waves but nice areas to sit and picnic.
Well kept campground with well developed trees for shade. Nice beach to keep cool during the hot summer. Nice trails to hike with great views and lots of wildlife.
It was beautiful ????
Lots of space to spread out for social distancing and nice water quality. Didn't like the sharp rocks inside of sand along the beach though.
Nice park, some really good campsites, nice stretch of sandy beach. Park employees are a little full of them self's, trying to hard to justify there jobs
very beautiful sunset in August 2020!
Such a great provincial park. Lots of green space and a nice beach. The beach is a mixture of small peddles and sand. The concession is also great and sells ice cream! They also have a beach volleyball court.
Slot of improvements have made this my go to campground. The showers are terrible to get into though so bring alternatives.
Will come back. I quite like it.????
Beautiful campground, well maintained, firewood and running water accessible, sites for tents and rvs, beautiful beach and lake for the kids to play at as well as playgrounds. Fire pits at each site as well as electricity available.
Nice place to hung out with Family & friends...
Very pretty
Great place for family relaxation
People with dogs should be fined for not picking up after there pets
F81 is nice and spacious, gives you enough privacy. Lake is clean, great for boating and swimming.
This campground is beautiful and is next to an awesome lake. Perfect place to stay when attending the (RIP 2019) Medeval Faire. However, if you plan to use a tent, I would advise staying on the gravel and not the grass. Unfortunately, they run arregation on certain days of the week and if you park ANYTHING on the grass, it will get soaked. Literally no safe area on any of the grass whatsoever. If you keep your stuff on the gravel you will be safe. Kind of a bummer as this was not mentioned to us and we ended up with a soaked tent, lawn chairs and picnic bench on an otherwise dry weekend and is why I will not give with this place 4/5 stars.the reason for the other star is the shower houses close rather early, and are not kept clean throughout the day, which means the only hours of cleanliness is the early morning.
Very nice spot for a day trip.
Loved it
Excellent clean and family friendly/picnics/ volleyball/wind surfing etc
Very nice campground and big sandy beach. Flushable toilets with showers in only one spot. We stayed in section F. I would not recommend staying in section F, it is like a wasteland. If Zombies attack, they will likely stay in section F. The seagulls were bad in that section and lots of dead trees. The other sections of the campground are really beautiful and not infested with loud seagulls. Nice boatlaunch area and warm food concession stand. I would recommend this campground but I would never stay in section F.
beautiful place, it is worth visiting
Great place to relax. Beach has rocks but the kids don't seem to mind. Water was good for swimming. Very clean.
It is a nice area, certain campground loops are better than others (more private) the beach is big which reduces crowding and there is ample parking. 4 stars because the beach is littered with napkins/straws and food wrappers, the park maintenance staff need to comb the beach regularly like they do at Little Bow to remove the garbage left by careless people.
First time to Kinbrook Island. Stayed two nights and enjoyed. Weather was great and got to enjoy the beach/swimming area. Not much for sandcastle play as beach is a sand/rock/wood (twigs) mix. But enjoyed some water play. Make sure to bring your own water floaties, etc. Bathrooms conveniently located at beach and near campground spot. Reasonable priced and nicely treed where we were. Lots of gopher holes but few gophers seen..
Nice place to spend a sunny day during the weekend in the summer. The beach isn't great; the sand is not made of very fine particles. The water is warm, clean and nice. You can swim a decent length and the depth of the water goes progressively. There are facilities for barbecue and there is a small concession. The parking gets full , but you can still find a place not far from the beach.
Our new favorite spot in Alberta. A paradise in the middle of the prairies. Beautiful grounds, lots of activities and amazing lake to enjoy!! Highly recommended!
Great relaxing site on the lake.
As a former Ontario resident now well over a decade in Alberta I miss my water and swimming during the summer months. Kinbrook has some of the best swimming and water this province has to offer! Clear and cool water. The sites are not very secluded as have sprinkler system to keep the grass and trees alive. If you end up in a zone that is getting irrigation that day you might get wet. That's the only negative about the park. The facilities and staff are fantastic and it's a great place to take your kids camping. I recommend reserving sites as it is a very busy park
Best Lake in Alberta. I would suggest to parent to always keep an eye on kids. It gets deep within 20 feet of beach
Nice beach but the water is cold. In a hot day it's nice to dip in. They have beach toys for the kids and lots of picnic tables.
We used to spend a couple of weeks here every year during the summer kicking it off in one of their great group sites...the beach is great and the water is warm. The campground went downhill a couple of years ago and we haven't been back...too much hassle to get a power spot booked and then get out there to find out the store wont be open all summer and that the boat launch area is not being maintained. On the plus side...rates are reasonable and the other people there are always friendly. Does anyone know if things have gotten better again??? I would love to give this place another shot!
Nice location. Close to the water. Kids had a blast
Very expensive sites are very crowded alot of random people just walking threw our site
I lived in brooks for two years and didn't know this existed. I went there on my last day and I got the best view in brooks. Regret not visiting it often
Great place to camp with kids. Only a couple downfalls for those with larger trailers, some of the sites are a bit smaller withing the loops, but the ones closer to the corners are quite large. The lake is beautiful and the beach was great, with the exception of the smaller rocks closer to the shore, wear water shoes! The homemade ice cream from the food truck was delicious and the staff were all great and helpful. Would definitely camp here again.
Kinbrook is a great place to camp with family. I don't like the amount of mosquitoes in the area, otherwise I would say 5 stars. Bring some spray. Lots of good campsites with trees, lots not so good, need to book ahead. Lake is good for swimming, fishing and boating. Beach is maintained daily and kept clean, lots of sand. Not too far from Calgary. Probably shouldn't have given it such a good review because it's a nice little secret.
Amazing place for picnic and have some water activities with friends and family.
Very camp ground.
Family friendly, nice beach, swimming, boating & fishing. Clean.
A nice camp ground great features. Great shire fishing near boat dock. Will be busy on weekends. Friendly and helpful staff.
Loved it! Beautiful and tranquil and full of wildlife!
Very nice
Very well kept and run.
Big beach area, water fairly warm. Not best sand, and rocks in water until out a ways. Water shoes maybe an asset. Used only the beach so can’t really comment on the campground and the rest of the park. From what we saw we would camp there.
Clean, not crowded. Nice walking trail. Didn't like that you have to pay for your shower.
???? everywhere what could go wrong with that?
Great place will go back there with the kids anytime.
This campground is lovely except for all the birds ???? They would come into your campsite looking for food or garbage and then poop on everything. Gorgeous beach and lovely lake. I’ll be back but I’ll be bringing bird deterrents next time!
Great park, large enough sites to accommodate large RV's. Beautiful lake to boat in, fish if you choose. There's a beach and swimming for everyone. Playgrounds for children. Showers are also available.
Great campground lots for kids and faimly
A very enjoyable afternoon. The picnic sites were very clean, the beach was also tidy. Stopped also for a treat-- HUGE scoop of delicious ice cream. We will be back again.
This place is for you if you like camping, boating and birds. Birds are everywhere of different kind.
I love this place. Been visiting it for over 40 years. The picnic area is well maintained and the washrooms are generally kept clean. I recommend it for anyone looking for a fun place to picnic or camp for a few days.
Very pleasant environment.
Beautiful park
The place is awesome,,,!!????
Beautiful small beach by the lake. Very safe camping site for families. Playground for kids.
I go here very often... I think it s one of the best lakes (if not the best) in the area ????
Amazing experience, so great to have a beach so close by. Staff are super friendly
First time here. Sites are awesome, easy to back into, very clean. Parks staff are great, check-in was fast and easy. The variety of birds was a suprise.
The best place for summertime And camping also very clean clear water to play in
Nice place to camp when the weather is nice out
Super
It was a great time. The park is very nice with lots to do. The lake was fun and not cold.
Bugs galore but otherwise very nice
Plenty of mature trees various types of campgrounds and a huge lake
Great lake. Had a blast out on the boat. We visit every summer.
Great campground all sites have power and the dump station will accept any size if unit.
5 stars especially when you're with 5 star people
Best beach so far!! We had so much fun at this island! Will return every summer… several times ????
Good campground. To bad the concession is closed
One of our favorite places to camp. Clean, warm water, and lots to do with our family. We did unfortunately this time have not one but two encounters with a rather unpleasant young man checking us in. Rude, snide and generally unfriendly. However, always an awesome experience otherwise
(Translated) It is nice to spot birds. But there are not enough parking spaces to park. There is also no indication of how to get there. Only how you get to the beach, but there the birds are chased away by the many people / tourists.
It's a fun filled day at the lake, but also a little hard to find a spot when it's busy.
Great and lovely place to do camping & swimming. The camping sites are really good. I would highly recommend this place for parents to bring their kids to have fun here. Love this place alot.
It was great. But for the rain, ha. The crew there were fabulous. Will go again.
Very nice place to do picnics and camping..
Beach is nice and good for children but… a campground that size could use a bigger beach.
Amazing place and clean air
Nice beach area
Really good experience the place is wonderful
Cute park with great sandy beach and picnic facilities!
Very nice clean easy access into water for SUP and kayak
Good beach..it will get crowded on weekends. Beach and water was clean but there was fishy smell in the water.
Beautiful view of green and blue combination. Little disappointed by people who left their garbage on beach.
Lovely place ????
Great in the fall!
Nice place to cool off in the summer, water is nice. Beach is sometimes dirty with litter but is frequently cleaned and maintained. Very busy in the summer, reached max capacity and had to get turned around... returned the next morning, go early to avoid large crowds
Very beautiful place!! Family friendly ❤..
The water is super clean and clear. It was super pretty place. The main beach are is too crowded but we found a place that didn't have any people.
I love the grassy campsite area where we stayed for 2 nights....We are under the trees. I loved the beach area....white sands and clear, clean water....this park is really amazing and perfect for kids and for the entire family. If you are looking for a place...this is it!???? total package as one .
Liked this place , went fishing, boat launch large and convenient, fishing good caught 29 lb 2 oz. Pike. Lots fish on finder , deep tho. Bathrooms still open.
Have camping here twice. Still like the peace site that has trails and birdwatching, fishing, boating, etc. Sometime you maybe find bird eggs under your trailer. Other birds attacked one egg and made it broken. We got many crabfishs for special sandwich. Enjoy the trip.
Great for a boat. Fishing is difficult from shore. Typically a decent walk to get to any spots and there is alot of other people fishing. There is little for tree area but there is a good sized beach.
Great place
Love it. All the trees and beaches.
I absolutely love it! Great beach!
Nice water for swimming. But management could take proper steps to eliminate the odor comes out of the non- flashable old style toilets. You could smell it from the parking lots even though you avoid using it.
You will enjoy here, all kinds water sports, all ages people can be play here, beautiful camping sites.
Alberta provincial park with to different camping areas. Most are well treed well one area across from the public beach parking lot is a field setting. Beautiful beach but a bit rocky so water shoes are recommended. A boat launch, hiking and biking trails. A great location on a lake 14 km south of Brooks Alberta.
Well kept area. Beautiful scenery
Excellent
What an amazing little get away! The lake is absolutely beautiful. We have a raft, but lots of nice motor boats and people fishing. The staff are incredibly friendly! Our dog had lots of space on her leash to roam around our spot. Power spot had 120v and 347v hookups. (Didn't apply to us... Yet ;) ) I would highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a site by water. There's a beach we haven't got to yet also. 5/5 for sure!
The fishing is great we take our 6 grandkids and the beach is fun the playground is clean everyday they clean thr washrooms everyday need mirrors in all them but we loved our 14 days my grandsons love the fishing10 pou d fish good boat launching we will be back for sure
Clean, nice and beautiful, you'll gonna love this placeQ
One of our top 3 out of 12 camps weve been. Great beach, great services. Many birds and we saw a deer in the marina.
The camp ground was very nice! The beaches were amazing and very well kept. The only issue we had was the people coming around monitoring the camp sites to makes sure no one was parked on the grass were a little over baring. We fully understand how importained it is to make sure no one is driving on the grass to keep the sites as nice as they are, but this was something else. The woman that stopped at our site told us she had been there at 1am the night before when we were sleeping ...checking to make sure none of our tires were touching the grass and came back the next day to let us know our front tire was a little on the edge, we then moved the car 3 inches over to appease her and she made a comment about how "we tried to get away with it". It all just seemed a little crazy. But all in all the weekend there was very enjoyable, We would go back and try this spot out again because other then the one incident everything else was great!
A very nice park. Well laid out walking distance to all amenities. Beach is great, did some kayaking, hiking. Many birds and wildlife. Deer came to our campsite. Only negative was enforcement of noise. Campers partying well past midnight. Difficult if you have to drive the next day. Otherwise highly recommend.
Amazing camp ground
This is a great campground with many well laid out campsites and lots of amenities. It also has a really nice beach and tons of parking at the boat launch. It really needs more docks though because there is only one small dock which makes it hard to load and unload passengers on busy days.
Stayed in spot D-57, which had good shade and a level spot. Nearly all sites are now powered which is nice. However with the advent of online booking, we all know that it's a fight to get a spot. This is unfortunate since it leaves the campground very underutilized during the week. Not a fan of the pay showers, especially since Tillebrook has them for free and they are much nicer. Alberta really needs some additional campgrounds, but with little water the options are few. Some additional mountain campgounds would provide options for weekend campers.
Beautiful day in June and a beautiful place to spend time even if the concession stand was not open yet.
Beautiful campground. Lots are open (not our favorite aspect) that said they are huge so being open is not truly a hindrance. Showers are a Toonie, there are flushies near loop J. Day use area is beautiful and the sandy beach is gorgeous. Will totally go back to the park.
Just stoped to check it out and i love it...
Great park, beach and lake.
Everything you need in camping and swimming bickering etc
Not a lot of privacy while camping, but it's a beautiful place
100% my favorite place to be
I am originally from BC and miss all the lakes and the Pacific...nice to find a large body of water close to Calgary. Warm water, decent beach and nice campsites for prairie camping.
Great family friendly place. Clean campground and beach.
The beach was not so maintained but the oversized lake was awesome for my kid.
Lots of garbage on the beach, but the employees are friendly and hard working. They may have been understaffed. The camp sites DO vary in quality as far as esthetics are concerned (some sites are pretty new and not too nice yet)
Maintenance guys decided to cut weeds off a dirt pile with weed eaters for an hour on Sunday morning. Are you kidding me! When I asked them how long they were going to be they were fairly rude and basically told me to go back to the campsite. Then they proceeded to mow and push up a dirt pile for the rest of the morning. Not very good planning as this area appeared to have not been maintained all summer.
Really relaxing every time I was here.
Nice quiet good size lots. No water connections at the sites is the only downside.
