REVIEWS OF Beacon Hill Park IN British Columbia

This is a beautiful park. There was a zoo for the kids and peacocks that just roam around the park. The trees and flowers were beautiful and the the ponds full of fish. It was very relaxing and definitely worth stopping to walk around and take in the beautiful park.

Markus Schnell

I enjoyed my winter walk there ????

The park has something for everyone. Came here with a 4 year old and spent hours. There are 2 different playgrounds that both have plenty to do for a wide range of ages and abilities. Peacocks, ducks and geese are plentiful around all the ponds. Our child loved seeing all the birds. Also a great network of trails and paths for walking the dog.

Yanina Basystyuk

They have beautiful places with flowers and lakes, but quite big part of park is lacking good care. The grass is dry and not cut. Good place to go with kids, because they gave mini zoo with area where you can pet animals. Peacocks goes around the park. If you are lucky you will see how they open their tails. Nice place to go at day, but at night I would avoid, because I saw homeless sleeping in tents.

Merlin Jose

There is no beacon or hill at this park

Rylan Dalrymple

This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful parks I have ever experienced. It was once a zoo and converted to an illustrious walking park with many different vistas and ambiences present. From bandstands to old bridges and even older trees, you can venture from the rocky terrain that reminds one of mountains, to a petting zoo in you're around for the right seasons, until you reach the famous beacon hill for which the park is named, and have a full view of ocean and the mountains across the way. It should be noted this land properly should recognised as occupied from the Lekwungen People (now known as Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation). My very first visit here I was personally escorted through the park by one of the many resident peacocks. 10/10! A must! Ooooh, and Mile Zero for the Trans-Canada freeway begins just down Dallas road along the seaside.

Fabio Said

Great place for a walk, especially in spring and summer time. There are totem poles, a petting zoo, gardens, bridges, making for a fun experience.

Booyaka Stubbs (ExplorewithStubbs.com)

Amazing place to stretch and unwind or to get exercise either by walking, jogging or riding bikes. Even taking pictures will give you some good exercise moving around to the different viewpoints the park has to offer. Enjoy the park 365 days a year, summertime is packed with locals and tourists alike. You can't just come here only once, you'll be drawn back over and over. Highly recommended ????

Tam Time

Always a fantastic place to walk through. Lovely flowers and scenery. Plus you can feed the geese/ducks, but watch out for all the poop!

Gary Burton

Such a beautiful parc and well maintained.

Ngayngay

It was nice and pretty. You can set up a a picnic and eat there. There's a playground for the kids and wildlife is plenty. The kids had fun even if the animal feeding area was closed t that time we went.

A beautiful park with great greenery. I am visiting this place for the second time and it doesn't cease to amaze me. The beautiful just to the south, the beautiful rock bridge and calm and serene atmosphere adds to its charm. Given a chamce I would definitely visit this place again.

Lauren Carr

Go here! Go here! This park is huge and beautiful. Take a couple hours to wander around and find the sleeping lady, the herons, the tallest free standing totem pole in the world, and all the gorgeous flowers and plants. I cannot express how lovely this park is and how much I enjoyed it, it is so with a visit.

Lovely park to walk in, there are lots of birds, geese, and ducks! Avoid feeding them as you might make them aggressive by doing so. I liked the the little petting zoo inside.

I feel so blessed to live in Victoria, BC where I get to see wildlife and domestic animals on the same day in the same beautiful park! Spent the afternoon making new memories through the eyes of my grandson and partner at the Children's Petting Zoo and open grassy area immediately behind the Zoo where this Buck, young deer and eventually mother? or sibling? was spending time in the sun together. Access to the Zoo is by donation, mask wearing is mandatory for anyone 12 and over with handwashing station and sanitizer all provided. I took every picture myself. The flowers were all surrounding the Sundial, quite close to the Children's Zoo. There is so much to see and do. Take a Nature break and head over to Beacon Hill Park so worth every second of time, you never know what may come running out of the scrub brush right towards you!

Tanya Therrien

I enjoy this park mostly to simply feel like Snow White haha! Hand feeding the birds and critters, leaves me feeling with so much gratitude

Marta Borowska

This is a gorgeous park complete with a rose garden, moss lady, herons/peacocks/ducks, the largest totem pole in the world, beautiful ponds and trees, flower gardens, a playground for kids, and lots of grass for sitting or picnics. The trails throughout are very pretty and there is a lot to see. You can definitely end up spending a long time in this park. It is very relaxing. A Victoria must-see.

ipak9

Beautiful place for a sunset, relax with your friend or go for a little run!! Love it!

Dale Dearing

This is a great park to visit for multiple reasons: solitary view south across the straits, kids petting farm, horse drawn carriage transits, feeding ducks in the ponds, lawn bowling and cricket, or jogging the easy-on-the-knees Cooks Street bark-mulched pathway. It feels like a small version of Stanley Park, and commend city leaders who planned this “civic infrastructure” so many years ago.

Tanya Martell

Was a very good walk and I most enjoyed seeing all the ducks, swans and peacock's

Nina Despins

The park itself is gorgeous. Peacocks roam around the park as do deer, ducks and other animals. The gardens are well maintained. However, there are alot of people on the weekends, so it's better during the week if you want to avoid crowds. The washrooms could be kept up better. The women's washrooms only had a maximum of two stalls which is not sufficient for the large groups of people that frequent the park.

Kulpreet Singh

This place is truly wonderful. It will mesmerise you with green lush nature, animals especially peacocks, you can feed them take pictures and they might show a dance. Play with baby goats and place you relax in nature.

An absolutely spectacular park that is filled with a wide variety of plants and wildlife. There is something new to see at every turn as you walk through, and at the centre is a children's farm filled with animals that you can see up close and a petting zoo with pygmy goats. A truly must see stop if you're visiting Victoria and a staple for any resident!

A really beautiful park and highly recommend visiting this place. Great for walks, picnics, a run. It was the highlight of our trip, beautifully manicured lawns and gardens to the paths along a shoreline with awesome coastal views. We went in the morning and it was nice a quiet, not crowded at all, mostly locals enjoying a peaceful walk or a run. Dog friendly as well.

Aom Hildebrand

Very nice park! Clean and enough fun stuffs for my babies to have fun there especially zip lining

Not a bad practice field for soccer, but showing more and more signs of summer wear by early July if spring was rainy. Too many people using the field when waterlogged.

Gardens are beautiful. The stretch is wonderful leading to the coastline. Off trails Paved pathways. Washrooms available. Simple playvround water park was busy when we went through. Love to come back and bike through at a later time.

Nitalia Bella

Had the pleasure of visiting this park today and I must say, I regret not checking it out sooner! Walking through the park is incredibly pleasant. From the scenery, to the flowers and the multiple peacocks roaming the grounds, there’s tons to see here. It’s also a great place for a picnic! We also went down to the waterfront area just down a flight of stairs and it was so beautiful.

Evangeline Dalaya

What a beautiful park! There are several little ponds with fountains. Lots of ducks, some Cranes and even peacocks casually strolling around. The property is maintained very well. For a few place to spend time in nature this place is fantastic. Lots of paved paths to walk along, bike lanes and some washrooms. We were lucky enough to see some wild deer up close too.

A lovely park, farm and garden. There are peacocks all around the grounds. The farm is by donation and has about 4 to 7 stations of animals. Great for a toodler as enough to keep them happy and not over stimulating.I can't believe how much there is to see in Beacon Hill Park. We could have spent all day here! Birds, Trees, flowers, bridges, small rock mountain, and access to the rock shore of the Pacific Ocean. A definite must see! This is a gorgeous park with ALL the amenities- there is truly something for everyone. What a fantastic recreational offering so close to downtown! As of July 5 2021 the park is a very pleasant place to visit. Most of the homeless have been moved out so you don't have to walk around bike chop shops and tents. You'll find some campers coming in after 3 pm when park staff leave. Also there are campers around the Mile Zero road of the park.

Beautiful park that leads to the ocean. Lots of room to have a picnic or a quiet read on a bench. Beautiful spots for wedding photos or just nice back drops. Public washrooms and drinking fountains are found on premise, legal spots to camp close to the ocean.

Coda Hyder

Absolutely the best park downtown Victoria. Great trails, very nice, spacious landscapes. Wonderful water features/ ponds and lots of trees! You may see wild rare birds such as peacocks and eagles. The petting Zoo (animal zoo) is also very cool! They have baby goats ???? definitely go to beacon-hill park.

jinky TravelDiaries

There are friendly wild animals in the area. It's nice to walk around.

This park is truly amazing! I went there for the "lady moss" installation, which is very poetic. I discovered an incredible flora and fauna. Lovely black squirrels, peacocks, goose... Landscape is very impressive with lots of différents areas Warmly recommend for family or solo tours!

Sylvia Petersen

Wonderful place to walk and admire the gorgeous landscape. Ducks, geese, peacocks, squirrels, even hawks! Lovely petting zoo and lots of picnic tables and benches. 3.5 hour free parking!

Joseph Valenti

Quiet community park. Great for toddlers and young children.

Chrispy

This is a great spot to go for a stroll right in the heart of Victoria. Whether you’re a local or just visiting beautiful Victoria you need to take the time to go and check out this park. Have some fun and try and find the moss lady. Many have not found her can you?? So much to see at different times of the year from Cherry blossoms to turtles and peacocks you will see some many different and beautiful things in the park.

Jyrmid Mac Cormack

Love it. Very relaxing park. Small and tidy. Nice for small kids.

Ryan S

Must see when visiting Victoria. There are beautiful gardens, ponds, art displays, and many birds. Parking is pretty plentiful and its a free public park. Its also located near the ocean, downtown, and hosts the mile zero marker for the transcanada highway.

Jean-Marc Bisson

No nonsense field or soccer purists who insist on playing on real grass. This year's abundant rain together with the city's sparce cutting habit means the grass on this field is usually way too high. Car Parking is too tight.

Skye Tutino

Very large and beautiful park that extends to the coast. Many ponds and great picnic spots. There's a great petting zoo as well with goats, bunnies, peacocks, and more.

Javier Cob Briceño

Amazing park! I'd love to see it everyday

Peachey Family

I'm speechless. The trees the wildlife(including wild peacocks) the scenery it's all breathtaking. Magical. Definitely going to be visiting lots!!

Wendy Hunter

Nice quiet park nor far from the city core and also close to the ocean.

At first I didn’t know why it’s a unique park but then I realised it’s one of the best parks to enjoy. Lots of scenery and the peacocks are so beautiful walking around you with amazing sunshine and all green around you. Lots of spots with beautiful rare flowers with stunning colors that just feels peaceful enough to change you mood and calm you down if you’re having a bad day.

Ali Lavasani

I love this place

Mohammadreza Behnejad

Beautiful park. If you like to watch some peacock ???? this is the right place. Lot of scenery lakes and landscapes to enjoy. Pro tip, get sandwiches and come by and enjoy your meal in the park. There are many benches and desks to use. In my previous visits I could drive to park from northside (in weekends). This time on Friday gates were closed.

Ilse Franckaert

Beautiful park that has everything: many green patches, close to the city, nice playground for kids, easy to park even with a camper, peacocks ducks and many other animals running around. Good to combine with a visit to the children's animal farm

Patrick O'Keeffe

A great place for little ones or just to stroll through the park. Beautiful view from up top of the Olympic mountains.

Melody Yip

Gorgeous park to walk around and enjoy a relaxing day at. There are ponds, beautiful floral, lots of green, and even a petting zoo. It was my first time here and definitely won't be my last!

Oudom Ky

We visited this beautiful park in the summer of 2018, perfect weather, flowers blooming everywhere, peacocks walking around, not crowded, photo ops everywhere. It’s a decent size park so give yourself at least 2 hours to walk around and enjoy the scenery, late afternoon is really good for photos.

Jaspreet Singh

The one of the best views in Victoria. You get to meet up with the beautiful nature and the locals.

Chris

Great place to walk and see some exotic and native flora. Geese have taken over the parks.

peter Kakaroubas

Nice baseball diamond and overall setting of the park.

Dylan Benson

The city’s largest park is also demonstrably the city’s most beautiful park. So many wonderful memories here including dozens of trips to the petting zoo, multiple weddings, meaning walks and talks, and so much more.

farzod darzi

And must visit if you are a tourist and visiting Victoria. there are lots of activities and little things to check out in the park. it's amazing that you can find free roaming peacocks in the park. Don't miss the tallest free standing totem erected in the southern corner of the park.

Christina Vandette

Kids love it here

Annick Deblois

We used to live in Victoria and Beacon Hill Park was a place we would to go for nice walks. Needless to say that when we went there with our 2 kids on vacation it was one of the first place we visited while we were in Victoria and we were not disappointed.

Alan Quigley

This is a very big park that is very close to downtown Victoria. It has a kids petting zoo, beautiful floors (like a free, much smaller Bouchard gardens), sprinkler park, ponds, walking trails everywhere, a really tall totem pole and a place to relax for everyone all right on the water.

Sadie Josephs

This park reminds me of the parks in England - very well maintained and lots to see. The park was great to walk through and admire the ponds, animals, and foliage. Went in March and the cherry blossoms were peaking out! It looks to be well used and loved by the locals. The houses surrounding the park on the East side are very cute (one of the historic areas). The park also connects to the waterfront walk, which has fantastic views of the strait.

Ari Nyman

Nice park to walk in. Big open spaces to have a picnic or just enjoy with friends. Good variety of flowers in the summertime to look at. Water fountains in different places.

Bee

No doubt this has become a new favourite place! There is so much life with all the ducks, geese, birds and all their babies. We also saw deer, a racoon, caterpillars, peacocks and walked through a colony of herons... believe me when I said it was amazing. It's a huge area with so much to discover, go see for yourself, you won't regret it.

Patricia V.

This park is a marvel in any season. I love how you can walk around and experience so many different types of landscapes. Traditional English knot gardens are right along side ancient cedars, Douglas fir and Gary oak meadows. There are play areas and an amazing petting zoo for the kids! There's even a painted turtle population in the pond. Truly a destination for the nature lover. (I have posted pics from a March trip, then August.)

lawal bello osagie

Truly Canadian

The Chenrezig

A gem of a park, but stay to south end, as street people have ruined the north end with tents, needles, trash and feces. As well, you safety cannot be guaranteed at dusk, be watchful as park users have been harassed and threatened. Hope the city deals with the issue soon.

André G.

Beautiful park! If you can't make to Butchard Gardens, this is a very good hidden alternative- petting zoo, free 18 hole mini golf, pond with frogs, turtles, birds (herrings), even saw an otter... and you can visit the highest totem pole in the world!!

Muhammad Rehan

Nice park with swimming pool. Two kids park slides area. Basketball grounds. Tennis. Baseball.

This was an amazing park full of things to do. In the park you and see the words tallest totem pole as well as many of the colourful peacocks around the park. One other thing I like about the park is the coast which is very lovely to look at. The park is a good place to walk around during a trip to Victoria. Overall the park is an amazing park full of fun activities.

Preet Singh

Go up near the children's play area and petting zoo to see the peacocks roam around. They are all roaming around and super friendly. It's a beautiful park and the scenery is surreal.

Tailspin Tannis

Beautiful place now that the homeless encampment has been moved put and the park cleaned up and fixed, however very little place to park as they've now blocked 90% of the roads through the park. Plan on walking from. Outside the park. If you're in a wheelchair, this isn't a good choice any.ore. Mayor Lisa Helps has thoroughly ruined many of the fully accessible places around Victoria and rendered them accessible almost exclusively to people on foot or bicycle.

Barb Agostini

A pretty little park to walk around. Also a great spot to see wild life wandering around freely: peacocks, deer, squirrels, ducks, and other birds. There are paths and bridges and small building and interesting trees. Plus, you’ll come across some hidden gems like a “Moss Lady” and an outdoor performance stage.

Ken Patterson

The city has effectively blocked access .. let campers destroy the park .the petting zoo is closed ..can't see goats giving you covid .. playground is painfully bare of seating for adults .or playthings for the kids ..they had more fun climbing rocks and trees ..at least the washrooms are open and clean.. and near the playground.. rose gardens are gone ..the lookout on the hill gone ..but the flowers will be back soon .. kids and kite flying ..still a beautiful place

Shilpa

Beaconhill Park is such a great experience. We saw peacocks, turtles and many other birds and mammals. It's a big park so be prepared to walk a lot. There are no facilities inside the park so come prepared. The park is a good 30-40 minutes walk from downtown Victoria. One may want to drive. Parking is not a problem. It's good to spend an hour if one is lucky to see peacock.

Mr Wolf

An absolutely amazing little oasis of beautiful scenery and local wildlife. The natural gardens are well kept by the local garden society. A place you and your family could spend the entire day exploring or just picnicking. Be sure to check this park out in your next visit.

THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST PARKS. I just really love this park a lot because of how foresty it is. It has some beautiful places down there and I absolutely loved it. I’d recommend going to this park if you live near it.

kingxl10

Beautiful park to go for a walk or picnic. It's very peaceful and quiet during the evening around the main park areas. There are some areas of the park that are used for parties but police usually deal with them quickly. There is lots of parking, an elaborate playground and beautiful lake/pond and bridge to enjoy. There are also some cool historic items laying about the park such as an old anchor and a giant watering can which is less historical and more hysterical. Up from the parking there is a viewpoint with a Canada flag and the sight is absolutely amazing. The panoramic view of the sea and Washington State across it is breathtaking. There are also many kite surfers in the area which are cool to watch. You can also access the rocky shore from the park to see the kite surfers closer up.

Stephen Segal

Have you ever wanted to walk with Ducks, Geese, Peacocks? No seriously, they will follow you and allow you to come within inches of them. How about hang off an amazing Sequoia without going to California? I've never in my 38 years have I ever experienced such beauty. Beacon Hill Park is a must see, any time of the year if you visit Victoria. Pack a lunch and explore the roughly 150 acres of one of the most peaceful places in Canada.

Adrian M

This well looked after park is large to the extent it doesn't feel crowded at all, with many different areas to discover and enjoy. There's ponds, flower gardens, open spaces and park benches as well as a stage that gets live performances. It's a great park to go to for a walk or to sit back and enjoy. There's parking available on the streets surrounding the park.

Peter Chung

This is a park like nowhere, you can see the wild peacocks walking around the park. It also got a small zoo where you can pet some baby goats. Enjoy the time here with the kids.

Kevin Gordon

Amazing park to walk ... even on a windy pre-spring day. This place would be 5 stars if the bleeding heart liberals would clean up the homeless tents! Find a “better” place for those tents!!

Patrick Lessard

Nice park but needs a little love in terms of landscaping. Tennis court playing surface needs to be redone (very rough asphalt).

Jean-Francois Bertrand

One of the most beautiful psrk we have seen - lots of diversity

Virginia Jacob

Beautiful park with lots of trails. If you go to the end, you can find the first mile of the Trans Canada highway as well as a beautiful coast! Lots of places to enjoy, sit or explore. As you can see from the pictures, sun set is gorgeous

April Kang

A well maintained park. Good for a walk with family. Lots of animals around, mostly birds.

somitha kaveri vasudevan

This place quite a big park with small ponds, ducks , small animals and beautiful plants Where one can relax , take long walks. Also has benches and trails where cyclist can do cycling. Parking is available. Bathroom was not well maintained, that’s why I am giving 4 stars to this place

Aggie Chan

So much to do here at the Park! All seasons! We go to the park all the time. Feeding the duckies with bird seeds (remember no bread!! ).. admiring the flowers in warmer seasons, strolling through the winding paths, play at the playground (which is conveniently located close to the washrooms), visiting the animals at the petting zoo.... There are many animals roaming freely in the park area: peacocks, duckies, blue herons, turtles, pigeons etc etc. So blessed to have an amazing urban park in the city!

SAM Chae

Really had good time in the park even short trip. can see lots of nature .

Megha Thomas

What a beautiful sight! We walked there for a good hour and loved every minute of it. The clouds started fading and we could see the snowy mountains a. It was a very cold day when we visited but will definitely visit during another season on our next trip to Victoria

Sharp Life

Great place to take kids. Lots of fun petting goats and seeing all the other animals. You can spend hours there if you have kids very interested or just walk through it. I would say an hour is a good amount of time. But beacon hill park has a lot to see. Bring a picnic basket and have fun at the park or water park or garden and stop at the zoo. It is by donation. Suggested donation is $5 adults and $3 kids. Fair prices for today’s society where everything costs so much. You can also donate more as everything goes towards caring for the animals so even if you don’t have a lot of time you can run through and see some animals and donation helps feed the animals and keep it running for others to enjoy

Justin Hiscox

Love this place its so peaceful and beautiful. its a must see.

Garry Forster

Took my 4 year old and he really enjoyed the play structures.

Diane Molzan

Such a beautiful spot in James Bay. Being from Saskatchewan, we are deathly afraid of Cobra Chickens (Canadian Geese). However the Geese in Victoria are surprisingly laid-back. So glad we toured this little gem.

Fantastic park, the fall leaves are amazing reds and yellows. Lots of wild life Peacocks, ducks, squires and deer. No turtles today but in sunny days often see them clambering on to log in the ponds. Lots of history points of interest through out the park.

Diane Kirby

Beacon Hill Petting Zoo was glorious. I got there just in time for thr running of the goats. Only one baby so far but bunch more due any day. Lots of hand washing but that's good! Sunshine, little kids and goats, too.

dayum boei

Very nice park with great view to the ocean, great for stargazing when the skies are clear. I saw my first ever shooting star there. :)

Drac Ula

Beautiful park to explore with family and friends. Lots of different areas to check out and plenty of wildlife to see. Give yourself a few hours if you want to visit the park as well as Finlayson point and other areas near the water.

Tere Arboleda

Amazing and beautiful walk. If you like to feed ducks. Do not forgot to bring your bird seed. We saw some peacocks in the park. Nice place to do some bike ride, I guess. We are in a hurry at the time we are here. Make sure to send more hours to really appreciate the park.

Mike Kennedy

Make friends like this guy as you wander through Victoria's beautiful city park with ponds, fountains, a rose garden, a putting green, a wonderful kid's water park and a children's petting zoo.

We love visiting this park every time we come to Victoria. There are beautiful gardens, duck ponds, children’s farm with cute farm animals, kids playground and spray area, and you could go down to the beach and take a walk as well. There’s something to do and enjoy for everyone.

Nabil Rifai

Standard west island park

Stéphane

Nice to slide with young ones.

David Silva

Lovely during winter season as well

Chris Orbz

A good park for spotting stranded ocean freighters, an all-male squad of peacocks, seniors banging in the bushes, seaweed nipping at your toes, dogs climbing dogs to get to dogs, mile zero of Canada's Only Road and totem poles almost as tall as the soft serve cones.

William

Beautiful year round, the animals, wild and at the petting zoo, are lovely, and the outdoor concerts rock. Maintainance has done a great job, despite the many hardships of the last two years. Please help out by packing out all your trash, leaving the wild plants alone, and sticking to trails.

Shan Susan Huang

My first time saw live peacock ???? and hundreds of duckies ???? in the ponds. Apparently this is the spot where locals goes for tobogganing.

Rob Richards

There is an informal mini-golf place right in the heart of the park. Peacocks roam the parks, herons fly overhead, kids water fountains & playground, lots of ducks and geese, a wide variety of fabulous trees and flowers, totem poles and even a cricket pitch. Bring a volleyball or soccer ball, a frisbee, or ball and glove as there is many places for you to play. And pack a picnic too.

Kat M

Lots of fun! Beautiful day out, and lots of animals and people about. The outdoors is good, petting zoo is unfortunately closed for now, water playground is open and running.

Brandon N

Very nice park! I went to see the moss lady and walked around a bit. I heard there is a petting zoo and some nice views. Make sure you plan 1 hour if your from the island!

Emerson Willer

Despite the tickets expensive price, it is an amazing place! The landscaping is perfect! Colorful flowers, waterfalls, creeks, lakes and fountains are really fantastic. The food court and suveniers store offered good food and products options!

Minal C.

This is a beautifully place. There’s parking available . I think it’s free on the weekends. If you get lucky you get to see peacocks walking by like its normal. If you love flora and fauna for your walk this is an amazing place to check out! There are 2 ponds and 1 massive watering jar statue. You can find the tallest totem pole that’s in the vicinity. It’s around the beach so you can see the water.. it’s a beautiful park!! Reminds me of Kuekenhoff in NL

Dee Dee

One of the gorgeous parks in Victoria. They have animals pet area. The park entry was free. The park was huge and so beautiful. We saw so many peacocks there. Would definitely recommend visiting the park if you are in Victoria.

We came here on a hot day for picnic, it’s so beautiful and relaxing

Christina Deveau

Loved bringing my two-year-old niece here. The stampede of the goats in the morning is worth checking out - whether you’re an adult or a child. It was SO cute. Then getting to go pet/brush the baby goats after? Priceless. Walking through Beacon Hill Park in general is lovely, and one of my go-to suggestions when I come back to Victoria with someone who has never been here.

Iliana Mariona

Nice neighborhood and safe! Clean too

Kris Springer

Definitely visit this lovely park. It is a jewel. Even on July 1st during a 150th Canada Birthday celebration, there was space to spread out and to enjoy all the park has to offer. Do bring some money to donate to the hands-on animal park.

We absolutely love Beacon Hill Park and we visit it at least once on our almost yearly trip to Victoria. The Park is always so well looked after. The trees are old and tall and beautiful The flower beds are varied and colorful. The big pond with the fountain is a favourite spot . We picnicked on a park bench. The turtles were sunning themselves on a long log! The ducks were busy and the geese were busy, as usual. We will return next year, of course.

Beautiful, tranquil, calming...a great place for thinking and being! A perfect spot to rejuvenate after a hot drive from the dusty prairie! Bring a picnic!

Beautiful park find something lovely around each corner

Digital Loop

Gorgeous park, just the right size for a leisurely stroll. An absolute stop when visiting Victoria. Do your date a favour and pop over for a short walk and talk!

Stella Lee

A lovely park, farm and garden. There are peacocks all around the grounds. The farm is by donation and has about 4 to 7 stations of animals. Great for a toodler as enough to keep them happy and not over stimulating.

Eric Fortier

Nice place for the kids. Could use a little more TLC.

Eric Bruno

Nice size park for baseball, soccer, swimming pool and a laugh

Jen Innes

Beautiful park. Kids loved the peacocks and the ducks. Homeless man under a tarp screaming at the top of his lungs was a little off putting though.

Monica De Sala

Good park!

Great neighborhood

This is such a beautiful area, with lots to see and explore. From what we could see, this would be a great area to Snorkel, or just go for a swim.

Danielle Valcourt

Really gorgeous, give the local wildlife its space (the peacock tagged with a yellow ankle band is aggressive) and look for the moss lady art installation!

Diana Leopardi

Great sledding park in the winter, the little hill is well maintained, too bad there isn't more room around the park for sledding

Hayley Rayment

I was very impressed with this park. Beautifully landscaped with lots of cool bridges and ponds. The best part was peacocks roaming around the park! Petting Zoo was also fun!

David Bodi

Great park. Many facilities.

This park is the cornerstone of beautiful, historic Victoria. Filled with incredible plant and wildlife it's the perfect place to enjoy solo or with friends and family. The park is also just steps to Dallas Rd and spectacular ocean views.

Julie Morales

Beautiful place especially in the summer

Beautiful park

Kristin Macdonald

Beautiful park. Lots of parking around it and multiple entrances. Beautiful lake and has the oldest totem pole in Canada.

Jesse Brown

This park is huge. There is so much to see. There are peacocks and squirrels wandering everywhere. The trees are massive and plentiful. So many different species, its beyond amazing and pictures do not do justice.

Carolina Ramirez

This is a must visit place. Take a stroll here for a very relaxing afternoon. Lots of ponds I saw a beaver swimming back and forth and lots of ducks and other birds. Beautiful flowers, plants and old trees.

Been coming here since I was a kid for various things. A lovely kid's park, places to sit, a private membership pool nearby that might play loud music at night. The hill here is great for tobogganing in the winter.

Simon Brazier

Morning Adventures! Such a beautiful park.

Beautiful garden/ park and it's huge. There's lots of grass area for picnics. There r picnic tables by the children's playground area. The play area is also quite big and it has 1 water feature in it, a fountain kind of thing, water squirts from the ground (after u push a button) kids were enjoying running thru it. Washrooms are not far from the children play area. There's the farm too where its free entry but u can give them the suggested donation ($4per adult and $3 for the kids) and the kids can enjoy watching patting the goats???? ,there's chicken, ducks, alpacas, peacocks, chicks, budgies pig, mini donkeys.. In the park there's lots of flowers and roses, ponds and ducks. There's free mini golf course where u can bring your own clubs and play. There's the statue of Terry Fox where he started his run. And the largest free standing totem pole. Many people say u can spot peacocks too, we didn't see any but it's still a Beautiful place. There's hiking/walking trails, lots of people were walking on them. I would recommend this place anytime, nice wish we had more time to enjoy the whole park.

A huge park with Beautiful views. You can walk around, sit, and picnic. There is kids play area too.

Was there on a snowy day, lots of fun. Very pretty. Wishbone could have seen the petting zoo animal area.

First time experiencing peacocks are roaming around in gardens freely♥️

A great place to visit, it's beautiful and there's tons of wildlife here. There is always something new to see. It's a great place if you enjoy feeding ducks. There's a few temporary tents belonging to the homeless, but the place is kept very clean, they kept to themselves and caused no problems on my current visit. The park is still very enjoyable!

I love the park. During the day, out with the animals. It almost makes you feel like you are not in the city. Also love playing Pokémon Go. Lots of stops and gyms.! Enjoy !

Cliff “Kidwest” Klugh

What is not to love. The view from up top or the furries down below. Wander the gardens or picnic around your choice of ponds. Whatever your fancy. Large playground for the Kidlets. Best spot to feel like a tourist right at home.

This park was a beautiful experience. Being a nature lover, there was Alot to explore.. The plants.. The animals..and water features.

Beacon Hill Park is always a favourite among the young and the old. It has a children's playground, two seasonal water areas for kids to play in (next to the playground and the big watering can), duck ponds galore (I pick up 1lb of duck food for 99 cents from Bosley's to feed them), a petting zoo where you can also watch the running of the goats, and countless places to sit and relax with a good book or a picnic in the park. Photographers will also be able to embrace the park's natural beauty. After 16 years of living in the city, it still remains one of my go-to spots.

Beacon Hill Park is one of the most beautiful parks in BC. There's a petting zoo for the kids to go see with lots of little goats that you can pet and play with. Across from that is are used to be a little putting green are those like 2 putt. The flowers and bushes there are just phenomenal. These pictures are of the potting area and it's close to the petting zoo. This area is just a small part of Beacon Hill Park.

Very pleasant environment. Observed several specoes of bird, some were exotic to me, and found many cool landmarks and water features on our walk. As an avid player of Pokemon Go, this picturesque park had many attractions, and was a great place to photograph some of my more recent catches of rare pokemon. I enjoyed the shaded places and found a tiny meditation garden with someone relaxing there, and decided not to disturb them. One of the ducks came right up to me to see if I was carrying any food (sorry duck, I wasn't), and my parents got some pictures of me standing right next to a peacock. Wish I could have seen more of it.

I take my infant son here for walks (light rain or shine) often. I could walk here for hours just admiring the different plants, trees, ponds and not mention the ducks squirrels and peacocks that seem that call the garden home. Just a stones throw away from Cook St Village (if you work up an appetite and want to try some local eats) and Dallas road if you want to breathe in some ocean air with a view. If you're out here, be sure to walk or drive down to the Ogden Point Breakwater for some magnificent up close and personal views of the water and lighthouse. It's breathtaking.

Lisa Wilson

Beautiful park in the city of Victoria. Different areas to explore. A really nice place to spend some time when visiting. Oak meadows, children's farm, rose garden, water features and more. We try to visit this park whenever we are in the area

Jesse Pereira

Large park. Forested areas, fields, and pathways. Also public washrooms and a petting zoo. Great for get togethers, evening strolls, sports, kids outings, etc. Not the best gardens in Victoria, but Victoria is the garden city so there is a lot of competition.

Mathieu Dufresne

New installations, love it

Titanium

There were so many homeless camps, it made us feel horrible. I couldn't walk or turn down a single path without seeing socially encouraged desperation needles on the ground and public urination. The grounds were in grate shape though the city workers are top quality the birds were lovely and we even got to see wild peacocks.

Georgiana Cretu

It was very dirty. Lots of tissues and mask on the ground.

INDERJEET KAUR DANG

Beautiful and well maintained park with excellent birds habitat.Wonderful experience.

This park has it all! Trees as tall as buildings, ponds and fountains, beautiful scenery, turtles hanging out on logs, people enjoying the green space, open fields, peacocks and great walking paths. We were visiting Victoria for an extended weekend and wanted a place we could stroll around outside of the city - this was the suggestion we got and it did NOT disappoint! Do yourself a favor and go find some peace of mind at Beacon Hill Park!

i can't figure out how this is a free park with such lovely foliage and fall colours, and peacocks walking around, how this is free!? compliment this park with your visit to butchart gardens and you'll get the full experience. well decorated, went in october

Sheila Potts

It is a beautiful, tranquil city park. It has something for everyone. Hills with views, stone bridges, lots of different plants and gardens, many different birds and animals, historical spots, sports fields, playgrounds, a stage used in the summer, many benches to relax on and many paths to wander on and see what is around the next corner. Easy to spend hours here.

Matt Stuyck

What a great little place to bring your kids! First off there was a decent line up before opening. We were the on a Sunday, and they have a goat stampede within a few minutes of opening. Almost everybody lined up to see the goats, what great fun. We then tied the rest of the facility. You can clearly see that these animals are very well taken cared for! They are all clean, and all of their stalls/ roaming areas were clean. The animals are very friendly. This is a great place to visit with kids, and even if you don't have kids! There is free parking nearby, and public washrooms within a short walk in the park.
