We offer you all the opinions of real people who consumed the services and products of Turtle Crossing (Park) around Brandon area (Canada).
At the moment the firm gets a rating of 4.3 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 126 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings that it reaches is very high, and it's founded on a high number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their opinion when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write scores when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Park is classified in the category of Campground.
Great campground
Was on a trip across the country and notified them we'd show up late. At 11:30 they were still up to help us get settled and oriented, and were even friendly and welcoming. Fantastic hosts, nice grounds, I couldn't recommend this place more!
Its a great place to be. It has a wonderful pool and very clean facilities. Worth checking out
Best campground in Canada!
Stopped here as a last minute decision and had the best time! Mark was super accommodating and the friendliest! If we’re ever back in the area we would absolutely stay here again
Clean
Great sites, helpful attendants.
Mark and family are excellent, this was the second time in 7 years we made the journey from Alberta to Brandon for work. He has made some huge improvements since 2010 can't wait to go out there again. Beautiful campground.
Love the campground and events that take place there ... the driveway /rd tho is very washed out , desperate need of grading , But camp itself is excellent
I like what they do here at Halloween
Nice spot
I hope they can improve, but right now, this place is still a disaster area from past flooding. Not recommended.
Nice place
Sites are great, location is too ( close to a city but still in the wilderness ), friendly owner. I went during fall but in summer it looks like they have so many activities for families / children. Would for sure stay again.
Amazing facilities considering they're under renovation, especially bathrooms. Wifi works great near the office.
Great spot, quiet, clean, scenic walking trails
Nice campground, lovely with the closeness to river and the fountain thing in the middle. The washrooms are great, self built as I would judge, great job. Unfortunately for us with only roughing it with tenting the washrooms were really far away from our tent site. But would totally come again
Great place close to Brandon but far enough that you think you're in the wild. Lots of place and everything you need from tenting to full size RV. Been camping here for the past 4 years.
Spent two nights here, staff are very friendly and helpful, sites are big and have power and water. River access for paddling, firewood available, good play spaces for kids. Hot showers and it's the only camp site I've been to this year with laundry!
(Translated) We arrived late but the owner was very kind to us. For a very affordable price we had access to very clean sanitary facilities, wifi and a place with all services. The wifi was a little slow but the boosters were not yet on the way (the season was not started yet). Best value for money of all our Canadian crossing. Thank you very much for this journey! Thank you very much for this journey!
They're very helpful whenever you need something from very friendly. They have this turtle at the registration booth I thought was so cute I was hoping they let me take him home but they would not. It looks so real.
Certainly recommended. Clean and quiet, but needs more privacy between trailers. Otherwise, great place for the family.
Showers are cold in mens washroom. Water floor cuts your feet.
Loved it. Buddy and I had a tent set up. It was so peaceful. Sitting by the fire, talking, looking at the stars. Had the best sleep in forever. Definitely going to do it again longer than a night.
This place has a VERY unique wading pool for those hot days. I was tempted to do laps around it's paved shores. Free WiFi, free showers, and pay laundry. The rv stalls are have lots of trees and even privacy fencing. Located beside the river the campsite offers free tube rentals if you camp with them and the friendly gentleman at the front desk will tell you where to go if you want to do an afternoon float with only a 20 min walk back to site!
Decent campground very close to amenities of Brandon
Stopped in on a cross-country trip. We were really pleased with the beautiful grounds, the friendly owner, the amenities , and the value.
Clean and family friendly campground. The fish in the water nibble on your toes! Freaky and funny.
Extremely well-run campground. The host was easily accessible and regularly monitors the campground. When we had an issue with noisy neighbours, the host promptly dealt with it. When we arrived a day early, the host graciously accommodated us though the fault had been mine. Our site was clean and spacious; the showers were good. We will be back!
(Translated) Nice place (Original) Belle place
Super cute little spot ! Friendly owner and nice facilities. Everything was clean and well maintained. We paid about 25$ for a no service camping spot and did our laundry for 2.50$ per load. I definitely recommend this place.
We stayed here one night july 7 on our road trip across Canada. The owner is nice and its office original. We had power/water only and on a site in a new extention of the campground. The campground has a really big fountain to swim but at our stay, the water was green and blurry. It was still swimmable but there were turtles and frogs in it. It was far from the highway and quiet. Lots of mosquitos unfortunately, mainly du I suppose to the turtle creek.
I have camped at Turtle Crossing three times in a tent by myself for three nights each time. I had a fabulous time! The campground is beautiful and maintained well. My site was on the outskirts of the campsite which was what I wanted. It was very quiet, afforded a lot of privacy and overlooked the nearby river. I had water too. I had the best time! The owners and staff are cheerful and friendly. I spend a lot of time floating on the pool on an inflatable recliner reading and enjoying the sun. I have explored the hiking trails. The washrooms are tastefully decorated, clean and warm. I went on the wagon ride down to the river. I had such a good time the first week in August/20 that I booked three more nights in the middle of August. I hope to go River tubing then! I can not say enough how wonderful Turtle Crossing is. Very relaxing and quiet. Thank you Mark and Joan! Heather Sharpe
Even under severe renovations, quite enjoyable! The shower and washroom facilities are A+. Can't wait to see the end results! Thanks Mark!
Great place, owner is very friendly.
In 19 hundreds 3 200 Native children were buried in unmarked graves under the campgrounds.
A nice looking campground. We were there only for the wagon ride which was super enjoyable. Ken is a very outgoing fellow and he made our ride interesting and informative. I look forward to their starting their "Ride and Dine" program.
Needs some work
Lovely place! Nice owner, other campers are super friendly too! Horses and donkeys are not afraid of ppl nor dogs. The pool looks clean but we didn’t go in there cos was cold. The location is good too 5mins drive to Walmart and other stores. Too bad didn’t get to see the turtles.
Excellent value, very clean bathrooms, wonderful customer service, zero hiway noise, huge swimming pond. Many amenities for all ages. Will be coming back.
The owners are freindly and accommodating the prices are excellent with extended stay discounts. In fact at the time of my stay over $10 a night different from the one up on the highway, and you can have a camp fire! To be sure the flooding has caused them some issues, and has damaged some of the natural beauty, but for the price and freindly service I'm fine with it.
Beautiful spot, fantastic man made swimming area. We called late and were able to get a nice spot last minute. 7km off TransCanada highway, a perfect stop on our cross country camping tour.
Owner was very responsive - both by phone while we were on the road and in person when we arrived. Very impressed by the size of the campground, options for services and amenities, and the scenery. We paid <$30 for an electric/water hookup site. We stayed at site 5 and had a view of the river and countryside. The site was a dirt/gravel combination. City water was drinkable. Wifi was not strong, but we were quite far from the office so it is likely better at other sites. We did not use any of the amenities so cannot comment on washrooms / shower / laundry. Mosquitos bad a dusk but not other times.
Very good for the price!
Pros: -Great little spot with good staff/owners. -Neat pool for kids. -Laundy machines. -Priced very well for full service. -Horse and buggie rides on certain days. -General cost of other services are inline with others. Cons: -Sites could use some TLC -There is more that could be maintained or opened (other buildings that aren't kept up or open) like a restaurant and other services.
Beautiful campground and facilities. Lots of staff around keepin the campground maintained and great personal service from the owner.
Awesome campground, owner has worked on it and is still working on it, beautiful bathrooms and showers, campsites are decent sizes and have nice views
Great campground so close to Brandon for convenience yet seems like your in the middle of a far away Bush camping Mark the owner is amazing and very accommodating Pool is nice and big and great play area and play ground for kids If you have never been here you better try it out
Nice place to camp. Great proximity to town. Helpful staff.
Great place to lay your head . Stress free , clean , beautiful, and great people to deal with . If your into fishing the channel cats are fun to catch . Big ones to . Thanks again
The owner was so friendly and helpful. Good price. Had outdoor pool, laundry, park, basketball court, cook out spot, and a dock along the river so you can rent or take your own float.
Great location close to shopping and all amenities yet still camping fun. Lots of stuff for the whole family to keep entertained. On of the best camping spots in the area
Very nice campground! Quiet and peaceful, with nice view of the river
Absolutely loved my stay here.
Stayed here twice last year and loved it. After all the flooding in the past I was impressed at all the work that has been done to make it a great place for a weekend getaway. I will definitely be back
We stayed 2 nights in our motorhome. I really like the fences around each camp site for privacy. The hosts were very nice. We really enjoyed the horse carriage ride with cyn. Thanks for a great stay!
(Translated) I loved very friendly owner I recommend it (Original) J ai adoré propriétaire très sympathique je le recommande
Great accomodating very friendly staff, very clean hot showers, plugins, washrooms. outdoor pool, quite, take a walk along the river side, lots of wood for fires. spitting distance from big box stores and coffee shops if you need to pick up supplies or what not. Save money on gas, and wear and tare on your car. Rather then driving for miles, I paid $25 a night, (best sleep of my life there). And yes I will definitely go back there. Check this place out for sure. Wrote the review up top last year 2016. Now it is 2017 and I just went back again, nothing has really changed as far as my review goes other than to say, the place just seems to get better. Staff super friendly and helpful, very very clean well kept sights and very nice clean washrooms and hot showers, beautiful place. I would still recommend this place to anyone good value, really hope they can keep the prices for tent camping to what they are now, excellent value, and I found it very quite and relaxing. I still would recommend this place to anyone visiting Brandon or just for a little getaway.
Nice area
Beautiful
Nice people. We stopped to charge the Tesla and do some laundry. The pond is very gross though. I'm pretty confident the stuff floating in the water is poop. They really should install a filter.
Friendly staff
Very quiet large sites that are fenced in for privacy close to town and great people running it
Great family camping
Had a great time
Great place to camp
Campground is nice but pool should be drained and fresh water put in. Who wants to swim in river water with minnows and frogs. Not healthy.
Wonderful stay at this RV park. Very friendly host, Mark made us feel very welcome. Huge place to roam freely by the Assinaboein River. Great place for kids to enjoy biking and free play. Thanks
Still in pretty rough shape from previous flooding but getting better slowly
Our family has stayed in dozens of campgrounds from Ontario to BC on our cross-country journey and Turtle Crossing was one of the best. The owner/operator was super friendly and helpful; the facilities were immaculate; it had a playground and swimming area for the kids. Value for money was, by far, the absolute best and included free wi-fi and free *HOT* showers (we’ve paid double the price for less amenities). The sites were private and very well maintained. It was easy access off Hwy1. We could not recommend Turtle Crossing more.
You would never know you are 1 mile from a city, all kinds of wild life, very large pool (more like a lake), 1 mile trail following the river with shelters along the way. Great place for a holiday
Great owner very friendly. Roomy sites really big. Gorgeous bathrooms. Nice man made lake. Love it here.
Nice campground, close to the city but still far enough away from noise. (Except for the train). Private good size sites.
I recently spent five days at Turtle Crossing Campground and found the owners to be so friendly and obliging. They were willing to help with any questions I had and provided a nice clean campsite with a privacy fence in a lovely location in their park. I understand this campground has gone through two major flood events in the last few years and yet the owners are moving forward with new washrooms (very roomy free showers), and a nice swimming area, slip and slide, and firepits in the campsites. When walking deeper into the property, it is obvious of the damage that Mother Nature did to their property, but the resilience of these owners is amazing. I would not hesitate to stay there again and after talking to Mark and Joan about their plans for the future in the park, it is only going to get better and better. Good luck with all the improvements you are working on.
We make a point to come to stay a couple tomes a summer. Great owners who really make you feel welcome are a huge part of why we come back. Nice sites , and close enough to Brandon for shopping and golf but still far enough away that you really feel you're camping. Look forward to going back this year ....
Unfortunately for those who remember the great times of the Curran Park era this will never be. I understand keeping the previous buildings is cheaper compared to building new but the old buildings are outdated plus bring back fond memories of the times at Curran Park. It states basketball courts unless you want to traverse through dead fall and weeds/grass that are overgrown you'll be disappointed. $6 for wood that is arms length (unless like me have very long arms) you get 1 arms length and 6 pieces of wood for $12. I had stopped to ask Mark how much wood was and said I'd comeback to pay was told I was there so get it over with now. Proceeded to say after my "2 arms length 'of wood that they don't normally deliver and bring vehicle next time. When we got to our site my dad had said that the fire wood was nice, and good quality and our dog was barking as most dogs do. Well not sure if he told my dad or the dog to shut up but seeing as we were renters and first time at the facility I can say between what used to be a great place to what exists now, to Mark himself wont be back. Even went as far as to complain about why all the soccer players staying at park. Well next year when year end tournament takes place in Brandon will either stay home and drive back and forth or find another campground. $27/night for electricity
Nice and quiet.
It was great seeing the haunted house my granddaughter had fun Thanks
