Our choir used the large picnic shelter for several masked, socially distanced rehearsals. There are outlets so we could power a keyboard, amp. and several "work" lights. The acoustics were OK and the surrounding environment was usually fairly quiet.

Cute park with a nice playground and river right there. I only saw that part but will definitely go back for the rest. The only thing I'm not a fan of was the needle boxes in the bathroom. It's not the parks fault and I guess if people are going to do drugs either way at least they can dispose of their needles properly

I love Riverside Park, as an avid work traveller with a home base in Guelph for years I used to enjoy long walks around the river. I look forward to visiting and seeing everyone in the future. The carousel is a beautiful heritage piece for the city and represents an interesting part of the past. There is a disk golf course on the far side of the park, a playground with swings and slides, a community garden, tons of PokémonGO stops and baseball diamonds.

One of our favourite parks to visit. On our last visit, we had a picnic in the gazebo, played a few songs at the musical instruments and then ran wild, climbed, jumped and spun around on the playground equipment! There is also a skate park and splash pad. But we find the splash pad a bit underwhelming.

Lovely park with lots of areas to sit down and enjoy or walk around - although watch your step or where you sit because the geese are fertilizing all the grass. The picnic areas are great and can be booked for big events, which is what we did. The carousel was a nice thing to have for the young kids and so was the little train. Great for family fun.

This is a beautiful park with a fantastic playground for kids of all ages. There is also a full-sized, traditional carousel and a mini steam train that usually run all summer (and the carousel at Christmas) but they are currently closed for Covid. It's disappointing considering both are entirely open air. Same with a concession stand that sells drinks and snacks. There are public washrooms here which is great.

We were there for Sparkle in the Park 2019 It's been a few years but it was great to be back. I think it will start being an annual event. The park was lit up beautifully and the weather was mild. Just a really nice walk with the dogs and a hot gingerbread latte.

This park is beautiful and well designed for a wide age range. We walked a trail or two, enjoyed the waterfront and nearby gorgeous garden. There are 2 washrooms, which were clean, available as well as others across the river. Not that we needed it but those that need to charge their car can do so. We have really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it.

The park truly is beautiful. We visited the spiral garden, floral clock. We saw a model of the first house built in Guelph in 1827. There were beautiful flowers everywhere. We visited the waterfalls. Great place to go for a walk. I walk up and down the path on a daily basis. More benches between the foot bridge by station street to up by north park gardens for that section of the trail to be elderly friendly. But the sections closest to the parking lots by the pirate ship park, and off station street have a decent amount of benches to rest at.

This is an amazing park! There is a disc golf course on one side with a small playground. On the other side of the river is a very large playground that has an area for all age groups. Some days there is a small train ride and a carousel running in the park. If that's not enough, there is an amazing garden that is worth a few strolls through.

Nice park with lots of slace for many visitors. There is a public washroom and multiple areas with picnic benches. Great place for spending time outdoors with friends and family. There are gazebos as well. Access to walking and sitting next to the river makes this park popular especially when there many parking spots.

Riverside park. It's beautifully maintained and has a nice beginner's disc golf course. Has a train for kids and dog friendly as well. Great place to come find a shady spot to read a book or relax with a friend and have a picnic.

Lovely trail beside the river - playground on the west side with the famous choo-choo train, picnic pavilions, etc. Bike trail on both sides of the river...trail goes on to cross Woodlawn, then Victoria, to reach the Guelph Off-Road Biking Association (GORBA) trails around Guelph Lake.

Well, this is always a good park we like to visit. Was waiting for the kiddos to finish school and it was a beautiful, autumn day. Trees were gorgeous. Everything was beautiful. Well maintained for the most part. I love the playground! Great little spot for walking. BUT. I am grateful they put a portapotty outside when they locked the bathrooms :( (sad that they are closed already.) but... I went to use it and it was DESTROYED. I saw city vehicles in the parking lot when I got there so I assumed all the checks were good - especially because they left... Made me wonder how much they verify before leaving when they're down there. Wondering what kind of protocols are there to maintain said area. Was disappointed that people would vandalize such a beautiful spot. But... Usually I'd say 5 * just... This particular encounter... Not as pleasant.

Riverside is a lovely place to visit no mater what age you are either for a nice stroll , picnic or taking the kids of all ages out to the wonderful new playground (only a couple years old). There is a carousel and kid train there however they will not be opening this year due to the cost it would take to change them to follow rules of covid.

Really great for young children. They run the train and the merry go round throughout the summer. The playground is very large with a lot of unique obstacles. The park is also great for a walk along the water. There is a concession stand where you can buy food. However I enjoy brining a planet and my own food to set up under a tree for a picnic.

One of my favorite parks. Something for everyone and always well maintained. Just returned from Ribfest where they had some terrific food vendors, entertainment for young and not so young. The gardens at the front of the park are beautiful with benches to sit and enjoy the garden. Riverside Park is definitely worth a visit.

One of the beautiful park for all families in Guelph. This park have three entrance! Main entrance opposite side of Tim Hortons. Floral clock, and flowers gardens are the entrance side. This way is one way. Beside the park there's large playground. Also there are large parking lot available. Wheelchair accessible washroom available. But inside the washroom no flashing facilities. Mostly little lineup! Outside that washroom have drinking water and hand wash facilities. Beautiful kids play area renovated it by this year (2020). lots of ducks (so there are lots of ducks poop), Squirrels, seagulls are another visitors here ???? There are lots of garbage bin available. Even some local visitors throw the garbage everywhere. This is a bad thing here!

Love this park for walking with friends. Only 2 minor complaints. #1 I wish there was a nicer walking path around the one end of the park, instead of having to circle back through city traffic. #2 I wish the forest trail was a little nicer (like the lovely gravel trail on the opposite side of the river), as it is often a nightmare of mud and woodchips in the spring/winter. Especially when walking with a stroller.???? Still love coming here however, especially to hide/find fun painted rocks!!❤

Riverside Park is the best kept secret in NYC, unless you happen to leave nearby on the upper west side. This park stretches up seemingly endlessly, with beautifully manicured lawns, playgrounds, dog runs, terraces, and waterfront promenades. The community gardens in the blocks parallel to the 80s and 90s are stunning, tranquil places to sit and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and the hilly stretches of grass are dotted with picturesque stone memorials. The best part: this park is not overcrowded like Central Park. Plenty of room to hear yourself think.

The pirate ship park is our favourite park in the city! The wooden play structure is awesome, my little dude (2 yrs) loves it. There are so many different places to climb of various difficulties, and he loves to run and hide underneath too. There's a nice big shade tree right in the middle and a fence all around so you don't have to worry. There's also a splash pad right beside, a music garden just in the green space beside, and it's all in a nice green space by the river with paved multiuse trail. It's got it all! (there is a building which I think has bathrooms in it, I've never used the facilities here. I know there are portable toilets available right now)

Riverside is one of the most beautiful parks in the city. Amenities include washrooms, a concession stand, and lots of activities for children. There is also a small sandy "beach" area on the side of the river. Lots of geese though, which do make a bit of a mess.

Lovely park, especially in the summer time. Nice trails on both sides of the river. There is also a little train for kids to ride. This is where the town holds fireworks and fairy fest and lights in the park each year. Recommend stopping by, walking through or biking through. The park has become quite popular with Pokemon go players.

Lovely park providing respite in the industrial north end of the city, adjacent to the downtown core. Lots of seating areas with large, leafy trees and grounds that are flawlessly kept in the best of shape. I just came to realization that the Pirate Park is just beside the River. It was a wonderful site especially for relaxing. I have seen people biking, strolling, reading, and hanging out for such a nice day. The bridge is a bonus I would say. This is a beautiful place after all.

**2020 Update ** The bathrooms are open. The carousel and train are closed for 2020. This park is a corner stone for us. They recently renovated the children's playground in 2017 and now have small "sections" based on age all in the same area. Covered areas for picnic are available but usually rented out in the summer. Plenty of grassy area available to bring a blanket and have a picnic. Walking trail down both sides of the river and further into the trees if you choose. One side has a Frisbee golf course. The other has the carousel and train. Tickets for both the carousel and train can be bought at the concession stand but it's usually cheaper to buy the season pass. The season pass gets you unlimited rides on both and costs $20 (tickets are around $2.50 each). It also makes a great gift idea for a family with small children. Concession stand sells hot dogs, slushies and ice cream in the summer. To top it off this park is one of the largest Pokémon stop locations in Guelph. Fun for the whole family.

An absolutely beautiful park with lots to do! From beautiful and simple gardens, the gentle flow of the river and the super fun play ground and rides for kids, it's a great place for people of any ages to hang out for the day! Bring some change with you to take a ride on the Merry Go Round or the train! They have a concession stand with food and treats where you buy tickets for the rides. You can also go for a nice hike around the trails through the park or bring a blanket and have a quiet picnic along the river. Really think that this park is a unique gem!

Seeing the world In a different way

I have noticed the big Belleville floral Canadian flag arrangement for decades while driving on the 401 highway. So I decided to take a break, visit the location, walk around it and discovered the tranquility of Riverside Park. The park has nice paved walkways that lead around the surrounding area giving access to the water, child playgrounds and open green spaces on the small hill. I especially strolling by the waterfront marsh area to view the many butterflies and to hear the birds sing. It is very peaceful. Then I took a look at the Belleville floral Canadian flag and resumed driving on the highway. This is a great spot to stop ìf you are travelling with the family, or even alone. Perfect for families with young children. The play structures are varied, inclusive and fun for all ages. It is a well-treed park perfect for picnics. Summer passes for the carosel and train can be purchased at nearby Evergreen Senior Community Centre for about $20. A couple of visits cover the equivalent cost in tickets from the concession stand. The rest of your summer visits are free rides. Look at local community calendar to know if events are happening at the space adjacent to the park, otherwise there is a ton of parking. Overall a fun and affordable/free evening for families all summer long.

First time at the Riverside Park. I was driving around and saw the playground so I stopped to let my son play around for a while. The structures were clean and well maintained. Very nice park, with lots of family friendly events happening through out the year. The train and merry go round are great additions to excite the little ones. The new park is very nice, lots of fun new activities. I found it is always way to busy to enjoy it there though, parents don't seem to watch or correct their children's behaviours at the park. I recommend they remove the sides on the high slides and replace them with clear siding so that when all the children are at the top of the slide waiting to go down parents can see where their children are. Though the natural photographs they have as the sliding looks nice it is not practical since you can't see anything happening on the top slide through it.

It's a beautiful place just a 7 minute walk from my house. It's peaceful. Great spot for the family in the mid summer there are lots of places to picnic or relax. The river from Guelph lake runs there the park so there are lots of birds and ducks. A mini train the kids can ride and the Mary-go-around only run in the summer when the kids are out of school. This park is huge so if you like to walk.

The park is beautiful however when it is designed for smaller children to play on, it is frustrating when those smaller children can not play in it because there are teenagers playing manhunt on it while riding their scooters or when those same teenagers are riding their bikes full speed throughout the park which intimidates the smaller children. Then when the teenagers are asked to be respectful of the smaller children, they flip off with all sorts of foul language. Also there are people who take their dogs (no children) into the park to do their business. Last I checked, there are signs up on the gate to the park that state NO DOGS and NO HORSEPLAY

This park is referred to as the Pirate Ship Park for those parents who have heard of it from other parents or their kids. It was a decent play area. Lots of stuff, playground wise, for the little ones to do. Could have been a bit more kept up. Nice to have the splash pad right across from it. For safety reasons the entire playground is fenced in. Only one way in and out. Same as the splash pad. There are lots of "hiding" spots, so I would advise, even though there is only one exit, to keep an eye on the little ones. I heard and witnessed lots of yelling of kid's names and parents frantically looking for the kids. Overall a decent experience. The walking trail is right off the park next to the water.

Beautiful park along the river as the name would suggest. Park is on both sides. There two playgrounds, Frisbee golf, gardens, trails, band stand, two baseball diamonds. There is also a carousel, miniature train and paddle boats open in the summer. Paddle boats however, rarely seem to be open. You can buy tickets at the park or buy a parks pass from a community centre (which is a much better deal).

Great park for younger and older kids. Can bike and cross woodlawn and get to a great bile trail. Goose poop was a big problem but last visit there was no geese around so maybe city finally taken steps to keep them away. Lots of shade for picnics.

We were unimpressed to come to the park on Thanksgiving day (and the park is of course beautiful and the playground super fun and interactive) and discover that the bathrooms were locked. It was a beautiful day and it should have been anticipated that people would come and need to use the bathroom. That is a fairly basic, essential need, and I would consider a bathroom to be an essential service.

Great playground, mini train and carousel, kids love it! If you go early you can find a picnic table under a tree, have lunch there, it's nice. The washrooms are accessible, the ventilation is not the best. Watch for the geese !

If your looking to try something new at the park try the disc golf course. Its a lot of fun especially with a group of your besties or a bunch of coworkers. The park still has all your favourites and a ton of green space to roam around or get lost in something fantastically awesome!! Oh and you can bring your kids too.....

Beautiful park in Guelph, lots of paths right by the river side (hence the name). Beware of flocks of geese - they generally mind their own business and their poop on the ground. Playground on site, an enabling garden with lots of parking, a few covered pavilion with picnic tables, and a carousel in the summer and a kids train ride. Recently, they installed some Frisbee golf station so get outside and have some fun!

Park is situated just north of the downtown in Guelph and has lot's of free parking. Lot's of trails to choose from, plus paved areas to walk as well. It houses the enabling garden for accessibility. The river flows through the middle with a walk bridge. Children's play area is great and in warmer months there is a carousel ????

This is a truly great park and is/was an excellent place to go during the COVID-19 shutdowns. Truly beautiful, sanity restoring natural setting, with many amenities, including a merry-go-round, a train, concessions, etc. It surrounds a portion of the Speed River. Gorgeous place for a picnic with your “bubble!”

great park for kids was just there the other day seems they have a new playground which is a lot of fun. they always have the carousel and train (does cost a little money for tickets at the concession stand) which are a hit with the kids and by chance we happened to stop when rib fest was on which was quite convenient :). we do seem to always have a great time at this park!!

The crown jewel of parks in Guelph. I'm from Kitchener, but I still make the journey to bring the kids here whenever possible. The playground is fantastic & modern, and there's a nice shaded hiking trail by the river, but the big selling points are the carousel & train that operate in the summer.

So many memories here. Most of them involve geese. It's important to remember that when geese hiss and open their wings, it's only to try and intimidate you. Do NOT be fooled. You're so much bigger and stronger than geese are.

Amazing play structure and splash pad! Loved that they were both gated so the kids couldn't get out without us. Bathrooms were very clean. They even had a smaller toilet in the family washroom for Kids!

A nearby(near Comfort Inn) park which is small and quiet. A soccer field is located adjacent. There is a gazebo, a unique sundial, and trees planted by well meaning local groups. For pokemon fans there is a gym and 3 stops inside this park. At least one visit here while in Belleville is highly recommended.

Went to Riverside Park this past weekend, for the Multicultural Festival in Guelph. The park itself has two sides that run along the speed river in Guelph, each side spectacular with its lush greenery, shrubbery and trails to walk on. One side has a carousel that is sometimes operational (usually during events), a massive open field with two baseball diamonds, a gigantic modern park with all the bells and whistles as well as a mass double parking lot, restrooms, an ice cream shack and benches.

So much wildlife in a city park. There were people frolfing and still keeping social distance, people picnicing, there's a bike trail that runs through the park, so lots of cyclists, and a lot of people just enjoying the beautiful weather. It was so nice to sit and watch the sunset by the river. Five outta five stars would recommend.
