This place is 'Turtle Pond' to me. It's a great place to join a friend for a walk or a picnic at the tables. It's part of the wheelchair accessible waterfront trail and it takes me over an hour to walk east from the Marina to Hercimer and back west. From this location, the 'Turtle Pond', I find I can take the longer walk East, past the playground and exercise equipment, ending at the Hercimer boat launch, or the shorter walk West to the Marina. The walk is lovely in all seasons, and I really appreciate that the city does their best to clean up the goose poop around the pond area!

David

Nice way to remember past workers.

A very nice part of the Bayside Trail. It has a monument and a stone walkway with the names of former Canadian National Railway employees. The walkway encircles a turtle pond. There is a gazebo and a couple of small bridges along the walkway where you can stand and admire the view of the Bay of Quinte. Free parking.

Beautiful monument and a cute little park area. Only downside is lots of garbage floats around cause people are scumbags who cant use a garbage can. Also come summer watch for fish guts and such along the walkway.

I enjoy walking along the Bayshore Trail. The turtle pond is in this area. The monument serves as a reminder of how important the railway was and still is and is dedicated to the many individuals that have given many years of service as a Railroader.
