Amazing

Kyra Freer

Awesome winding trail that feels like its set farther apart from the city then it is. Tons of birds and plants to see depending on the time of year, a stream that runs through. If you feel like exploring off the path you can follow the stream which ends at the beach which is usually never very busy

Great place to swim, relax and having picnic. For swimming the beach has stone but in swimming area has a pretty good sand

Sterling Stevens

Hidden get! If Centennial is too busy for you, this is the place to go. Shallow water, and warmer than most other places!

D Stacks

Pretty cool spot feels private. Would be 5star just wasn't a fan of the rocky water. Some shady spots and can park for free near the houses.

Harrison Fisher

Great place but beware of parking. The guy who lives right next to the beach entrance will call the cops to come ticket you if you park in front of his house.

Brandyn Snow

What an absolute amazing slice of heaven this is. It's very well maintained and gorgeous. Well groomed paths and a small quaint beach with an excellent view. My wife surprised me with this little place, and well definitely be back.

Mandie Copegog

Very beautiful and nice and quiet

Can be a great place but if busy (weekend) you may want to avoid. Good luck finding parking or expect a ticket if you do not have a pass. No washrooms along the way but good spot for a few hours. Construction currently being done on creek so limited place to layout a towel.

David Ray

Beautiful and relatively private spot, watch out for zebra mussels if you decide to take a dip! Maybe wear watershoes and keep an eye on the kids fingers.

Donna Hartin

Beautiful place for a walk and small beach

Carrie Powell Ruttan

Bosmat Kamchaji

Great for all the family, Easy hike (even though you can find some paths that are a bit more challenging). Need to think before you come if you dont want to go to a crowded beach...last time we came it was very quiet so we really enjoyed it

Don Bouchard

Great spot

Les Baczynski

No place to park vehicle.

Joy D

This is not a beach. It is a bit of sand at the end of a small trail. Street parking only and vehicles who do not have a Barrie Parking Pass will be ticketed. Stay out of environmentally protected stream. No washrooms, and dogs need to be leashed.

Rob Stewart

You can't really get there without walking so I can't even call it a beach.

The beach is a very small beach however the trail along the river is beautiful! It's maybe a 30 minute light walk. Tons of trees and birds. Not busy on a Sunday. Water is crystal clear. Beach has a little walkout to get closer to the water.

John Ferrier

Nice place. Nothing spectacular

Tommy Kay

A great local hike with beach and streams. Awesome in any season! My favourite is the winter ❄️

金玫Barrie 华人地产经纪 Mei Jin

It's chilly. The stairs are closed.

Matheus

The trees during this time are looking amazing. So beautiful

Carla

nice more secluded beach for those who don't like crowds. But the swimming area has quite a few stones....so lake shoes are recommended. If you like forests, there is a lovely forest attached to this beach alongside hewitt's creek. beautiful and meditative. Getting to the beach area involves walking down steep woody trails.

mark gabriel

A hidden gem that needs to be explored.

Julie Dasilveira

Liza Raytsin

such a beautiful trail that brings you to a little beach. Very quite, clean and peaceful.

Emil Penev

Tiny beach packed on weekend. Not safe during pandemic times!

Angela Watkins

This is a lovely hidden gem in Barrie. I recommend parking in the shade at Valley View Park, just off Crimson Ridge Road and walking through the trail to the beach area. Nice natural area full of wildlife that the kids enjoyed watching. Quiet beach area and some shade.

Tracy Haesler

We took our rambunctious dog here today and she had a great time fetching sticks in the lake. There are many well maintained paths to walk along.

Givealittlelife

Amazing trail

Wilkins Beach visited few ago. It is small beach. Not many people know about it and thats why you will find handful of people there. Sometimes none. There is small trail around it where you cam walk which is accompanied by small streams of fresh water. Small bridge is also located nesr by. It is very peefect place for nature lover. Yiu can take your bike there as well. Different ways to reach to the beach.

Marlise Cipriano

Very secluded small beach, great for a relaxing day without the crowd! Lots of ducks in this area too

Outstanding area of natural beauty along Hewitt's Creek as it enters Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie. Lovely small beach front. Nicely maintained by the City during the summer season. Some visitors do not respect this park by leaving garbage and dog droppings. Not suggested for those who may be mobility impaired. No washrooms or dedicated parking space.

Christopher Gomes

Great views off Lake Simcoe, with access to a beach, trails and beautiful wildlife nature ????????️???? ????

Leigh Payne

Discovered this place walking on the trails around Barrie. Hidden little gem

It's new place for us we find it through Google Maps every thing is very very nice and beautiful, it's small but nice.we did BBQ there,

Joel Hartley

Cute little nostalgic trail that weaves through the woods, by a creek where fish are hatching and jumping, an otter or two are damming and squirrels are always collecting acorns. As it changes through the seasons I love walking over the bridge over the creek, and seeing it in all its glory, then looking out over Kempenfelt Bay and seeing the waterfront properties and boats jostle over the waves.

A beautiful, quiet place. Can be busy with families sometimes on nice days. Very limited street parking available, and it is a steep walk to the very small beach, not very suitable for older adults or very small children. The walking trails are very nice.

Wilkins is so beautiful, water is fresh, beach is clean. I just wish that dogs were allowed in the water there!

Rebecca L

It's a little confusing if you don't know where exactly to zig or zag, but if you get in at the right entrance you'll get to where you probably meant to go. If not, getting lost is still worth it. Thank goodness we had the jogging stroller! Would definitely go again.

John Wiens

Ssshhhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Not Available

Small, busy. No fishing spot.

Ashton Heyder

Randy Stevenson

Close to home and fairly private

Kenny Stevely

The beach area is very small, it was so busy (and noisy) that my kids wanted to go home soon after we arrived. Perhaps part of the reason was that one of them cut his foot on the zebra mussels, there is only a narrow area to enter the water to avoid them. We came with high hopes after reading other reviews but were very disappointed. There are no washrooms so this is not an ideal spot for families with young children as it seemed that everyone was going into the woods to use them as a washroom. All in all it was just too busy and small.

Glen Fletcher

Seems like a really nice place... Residents near by are less than friendly though as they called the police pretty quick to issue a parking ticket... We just wanted to check the area out...

Kristina Gougeon

One of my favorite places to go for a hike and look out on the water. A quiet little beach with great trails through the forest, always nice to watch the sunset.

Dylan Taylor

Great trail and beautiful river to check out

For local residents only due to parking.

DO NOT GO THERE! small beach, water is full of duck poop and bacteria. It's ALWAYS busy and stinks like garbage! No life guard and the locals are rude to newcomers. Better to go to Johnson's beach or Centennial.

Always a fun and easy time. The water isn't very deep but can have some waves. The sand is rocky so I recommend water shoes or Crocs when you're in the water. There's no washrooms so make sure you go before coming. Lots of shady areas and a stream for the pets.

Love this beach but being patrolled by Parks Cops probably for the rest of the summer. They're handing out fines if you cross them. I heard it's called Operation Buzzkill. The poor people suffer and have their outdoor spaces taken from them but the riche who can afford their own waterfront properties are free. We love it.

Darryl White

Nice LOCAL beach but getting to busy with dogs and Millennials

The park is good. But you will get a parking ticket if you don’t have the parking permit.

Wilkins Beach was a wonderful little spot but sadly these days it has been overrun by visitors. Locals are finding needles, dirty diapers, broken glass, trash and human waste. There are no washroom facilities and visitors are using the bush nearby. The human waste and toilet tissue will be washed into the swimming area when it rains, very disgusting. For safety reasons I would not want to swim there and I would be worried about children and pets stepping on glass or finding a syringe on the beach. Here's hoping the City of Barrie can make some positive changes there before it's too late.

Cassandra McKenzie
