Pre-pandemic, went here with elderly parents. Dad couldn't manage the rough path & had to stay at the car. Now there is an accessible path to the lookout! History boards were very informative. Thanks!

Proposed to my lady here, beautiful lookouts and little trails to hike. I think the longest trail to take is up to 3 km, you don't need to be a huge outdoor enthusiast to enjoy it. The road up is fairly steep and rough but it is paved so you can drive to the top. Just have a lid on your coffee going up.

What a stunning view with a short from the parking lot. This little location is north-east of Toronto and just south of Algonquin Park. I recommend coming here for the fall colours as you can get some nice shots, as well enjoy a stunning view.

Beautiful view of Bancroft from the look out. In the past couple of years, there have been some fantastic changes and maintenance. There are now handicap accessible port-a-johns available. The trail maintenance and addition of benches makes the trail to the lookout more enjoyable for someone with physical limitations.

Fantastic views, great trails. Upgrades are very nice with grants. Took our Uncle there just before Thanksgiving 2 days in a row, as he loved it so much. The sun was out. Great job on the upgrades. To the few visitors who fail to use the garbage cans.... please use them, or don't come for a hike. Trash along the trails, takes away from the beauty.

Beautiful spot to break up a long drive. We caught the end of the fall colours and there's a Tim hortons close by to get a coffee before you walk. Bathrooms were clean and there was lots of parking. Perfect spot for the dog to stretch his legs too!

A beautiful location was some really useful information boards. The only reason I give four stars is because the lookout point needs a makeout as the wood is beginning to wear and crack. A little unsafe in my opinion. But the locations is amazing.

A good place to get in touch with nature, it has several trails that are very easy to access and easy to follow. its levels of demand are minimal for those who are not used to walking a lot.

Have many wonderful memories here but couldn't visit on May 23, 2021 as the town (or township) had blocked/barricaded the road just off Hwy 62. WHY? It's an outdoor location, easy to social distance, etc!

Remembered this place from my childhood. It was as beautiful and lovely as I remembered. The only issue is the road up to the lookout is very much in need of major work. Just be prepared for that. Hopefully they fix it soon because it's literally crumbling apart.

Great scenic lookouts , great hiking trails. Reason its not 5 star is some trails are new and not fully broken in yet and on certain trails thr is no signage for ppl not familiar wth area to stay back keep children and /or pets on leash due to dangerous steep cliffs. For example on one trail at red pine lookout theres is a cliff quite close to the trail withn maybe 15 feet and i didnt expect it and im a local. Had to put dog back on leash. Other than that its a great place to go espexially since its free. Some similar places in the area ive been to charge money or ask for a donation when u arrive before proceeding up the hill. Big improvements have been made here also in the past year. the dog and i saw alot of wildlife including multiple deer as well as hearing a moose or bear snorting n huffin and puffin .there are some new hiking trails and new signage along the trails explaining and recognizing the algonquin first nations peoples (my maternal ancestors) presence in the area. it explains how for thousands of years they lived and not just survived but thrived in the area through harsh post glacial conditions. Also states how we have many algonquin families who reside in the area here still in present day . i live 15 km away so i visit quite regularly to take the dog for an evening stroll when alot of wildlife is active . its Great for walking the dog or kids, trails are not too short ,not too long. If youre a hardcore hiker u will problably be dissapointed with the trails if you come here primarily just to hike. But u should definitely stop to check it out when passing through town .

Wonderful little hike and lookout provides an unparalleled view of the area. At the top there is a little wooden lookout with plaques on local first Nations history. Bring good gripping shoes, the rocks can be slippery. Pay attention to kids and dogs, there is no fence and it's a long fall to the bottom.

Probably one of the most beautiful views in all of Ontario I've been several times it is a long ways up and could be hard on your vehicle if you don't have a good vehicle cuz the hill is very steep to get up there but is a beautiful hiking ground just to keep your ears open for Bears or other wildlife

Follow yellow trail if want simple easy hike/ walk to the lookout. Fairly easy. Purple trail is also very nice and adds fun going through hilly path. Totally love the place. Free parking. Must visit if in Bancroft or around.

Stunning view from the lookout. The trails through the forest are easy and well marked. There are many plaques along the trails that draw your attention to the wonderful flora and fauna surrounding you. In the parking lot, and at the lookout, the history of the Algonquin peoples and the geological history of the area are told in a clear easy to understand manner. Very informative and beautiful.

Fantastic park at the top of a winding road going up to the top of the cliffs in the area. It gives a great view of all of Bancroft from a lookout on the trail and had some interesting information boards to see along the main trail. Lots of hiking trails and in great shape overall. I'd definitely come back to try and get more pictures of the birds enjoying the thermals near the lookout point.

Best climbing spot all year around that I know of. Great access, parking, and Tim Hortons is across the street if you need a cool treat in summer or another coffee between sends on the ice, also a better bathroom! Routes are not marked so s guidebook and local knowledge will be best. Routes are mostly trad with some sport lines. Bring a 60 or 70m rope.

Absolutely beautiful view!! If you’re going in April, May or June, definitely bring bug spray! The “hike” is more like a walk, but definitely accessible to those who are older, have small children or slight mobility issues. Bring a car that isn’t too low to the ground either! The parking can be limited if visiting at peak times. Definitely recommend. ???? I’m sure in the fall it is completely breathtaking.
