This is a fun free spot to take the kids and dig through "gems". You'll head home with a few rocks and lot of discussion about colours, shapes, and which one is cooler.

If hunting for rocks is what your in bancroft for, stop here. A small walk down the path, will lead you to this rock pile. Although its mostly mica, it is still a nice stop

Perfect spot for a family rockhounding experience. Easy access, right in town. Something new to see every time we go.

A little hard to find at first. Go to the parking lot of the harvest moon whole foods (big mill-like building with 33 station st written on it). And either walk or drive down the narrow dirt road for about 200 m. The rock pile will be on your right behind some trees.
