Breathtaking

Carried my baby in a carrier and faired well! Heavily shaded with scents of evergreen wafting through the air. The sound of gentle rushing water the whole way. Such a highlight on our trip.

Great waterfall hike. We took about 90 minutes. Bring bug spray.

A must see

What a beauty of a spot!!! The hike in wasn't difficult at all, and the prize at the end of the hike was worth it!

Beautiful trail; not difficult... well worth the effort... !

This little out-of-the-way park is a fun way to spend a couple hours of hiking. The trail is challenging in some sections, very rocky, not for everybody, but worth the climb to see the beautiful waterfall at the top. The side loop trail was closed when we hiked it due to the lower bridge not being in place so no way to cross the river. Bring bug dope, the black flies are out in full force. The trail follows the river up the hill so lots of places to get down to the water.

Good for a short walk to a waterfall. Lots of mosquitos in the parking lot but the trail was very clear. Had outhouses and picnic tables near the cars.

Nice little hike with a waterfall @ the end.

Great hike. Needs some work near the falls themselves.

Wow!

Love it here, moderate hike on a hot day, not hard. The falls are beautiful and with the visit. The path to the upper falls is very steep, hidden, and not for people who are unsure of footing or balance.

An all around beautiful hike

Uisage Bahn Falls, Gaelic for “white water”, is located 14.5 kilometres (9 miles) north of Baddeck. There are seemingly many variations in the spelling of the waterfall's name: Easach, Uisage or Uisge; Ban, Bàn or Bahn. The official name seems to actually be Easach Ban. This provincial park trail is well maintained and has interpretive signs and a map at the trail head. There are picnic tables in the grassy clearing at the parking area for day-use. Pit toilets too. The Falls Trail is approximately 3.0 kilometres (1.8 miles) in length and requires about one hour to complete. The trail passes through a field then follows Falls Brook upstream through a mixed forest and then a hardwood forest. The deep stream valley narrows dramatically in the vicinity of Uisage Bahn Falls, a 16 metre (50 foot) high waterfall. At the falls, the sheer walls of the gorge tower 150 metres (500 feet) on either side. A second trail, the River Trail, proceeds north from Falls Brook. It is about 3.0 kilometres (1.8 miles) in length (return) and requires about one hour to travel. Following along the banks of the North Branch Baddeck River, the trail winds through a climax sugar maple, yellow birch, beech forest at the foot of the river valley’s steep slope. DATES & HOURS The park is open between approximately May 20 and November 10 (The access roads are not plowed in winter). The park is closed at dusk. DIRECTIONS From highway 105, take exit 9 northwest onto Margaree Road. Follow it for ~4km, and cross the Baddeck River to Baddeck Bridge. Turn right onto Westside Baddeck Road, and travel ~6km to North Branch Road. Turn left here, and in ~3.3km the park entrance will be on your left. This is the way to get to the park from the east. It is also possible to reach the park from the west side of the Baddeck River.

Needs better signs, went up the wrong road and never found the falls.

Nice falls, friendly staff. Lots of bugs though so bring your spray!

Nice real easy 1.5 mile walk to the falls. The falls are nice to see, worth the hike. They would be more spectacular when there's more water but still worth the hike when the water volume is low.

Beautiful ????????????????????

Great!

Fantastic little hike with a beautiful reward at the end!

(Translated) Walk of about 1 km to a very beautiful waterfall (Original) Wandeling van ca 1 km naar een hele mooie waterval

Wonderful, easy hiking trail with a great waterfall at the end. The River trail is currently closed, but there's great native wildflowers and views even so. A bit rocky and muddy so be prepared.

Lovely hike most of it is quite easy but the end is a little challenging

Beautiful hike in to a great waterfall.

This is my favorite waterfall on the island. I visit multiple times a year, and it never fails to impress. The falls are beautiful, of course, but the hike out has it's own magic. It's a relatively easy hike until the large bridge near the end. After that point it does become more difficult, but it's only a short distance from there until Uisge Ban.

Awesome waterfall.

Swarmed by deer flies. I didn't get to hike as I had my wife and kids with me and decided it was better if they weren't eaten alive.

Loved it.

Although you can't do the full trail, all bridges are closed, you can enjoy the main feature, the water falls. It's a all hike to the falls and many spots close to them to splash a bit in the water. Beautiful, relaxing and rejuvenating place.

What a beautiful hike this was! It can be challenging for anyone with mobility issues, be careful when you get to the end under the falls if you plan to take pictures as it's quiet slippery and has lots of offset footing.

Great walk through a nice forested area and along a river bank. The route leads to a glorious view of the falls.

Love this hike. Beautiful area.

Great shady hike.

It took 1 hour of driving from Sydney, Nova Scotia to this falls. Hiking and camping are good choices for a family getaway weekend!

This is one heck of a beautiful place! Nice hike up there and a very nice waterfall!

Very easy trail to walk, a little tough on the end, more so rocky. Nice little waterfall, about 30 mins walk in.

Beautiful hike not too long and well worth it

Very nice park and waterfalls to check out in the city. Although if your not from the area you definitely need to follow the signs and not the map, almost got lost. Beautiful spot but be careful of the pot holes and the dirt road.

Drop what you're doing and visit these falls...it's a truly delightful 1,200m (one way hike) though a lovely enchanted forest...well worth the visit! if only the road there was just as nice....

Beautiful and easy hike

This fall is amazing in colors during fall season! Best time would be the 10-20 of October in my opinion depending in the weather and how cold it is .the colours are popping and you think that you are in the heaven. Really short hike to the fall and easy. About 20mins drive from baddeck and some part of the road is not paved But you van drive with any car. Please take care of out nature and do not litter. Treat as it’s yours! Enjoy!

About a 40 minute trail hike (each way) to a stunning waterfall with no less than 2 other run offs that sounds and looks like it's own oasis from the rest of the world! If you are looking for a walk in the woods, this one's for you.

Gorgeous walk to a gorgeous waterfall. Bring a good pair of walking/hiking shoes and a camera

Nice hike into a magical place.

Beautiful winter hike. Not too long only about an hour both ways.

A very nice hike for people of all ages.

Not a long hike but a fun beautiful hike

Beautiful hike

Love this place. great hiking year round

Beautiful walk. Flies are thick this time of year so bring bug spray!

Nice trail. Short walk to the falls. Lovely views.

It was a great hike! The river trail was closed due to washouts so we took the other way. It was all tree covered, almost no sun. The tree root systems were all over, so you have to watch your footing. The ground wasn't level, but there were no sharp inclines. It's best for kids 5+ but younger would be fine with help. We did get snacked on by some flies, so bug spray would have been nice. In my opinion the actual waterfall wasn't spectacular but I really enjoyed the journey.

Beautiful waterfall. Highly recommend the location and the hike.

Love it

gorgeous trail, not too difficult for beginners. some unique flora and fungi to be seen along with beautiful views

Small and easy hike for the whole family. Not far from Baddeck.

Can never get sick of this walk!

Nice walk, beautifull nature

Beautiful falls, very easy to find. Walking trail pretty much right up till the falls.

Great hike

A lovely hike. Not too strenuous so fairly suitable for all levels of casual hiking. We first took the direct route to the Falls, but on the way back, took the River loop. Gorgeous scenery. Couldn't help thinking, every view is a postcard.

Love this hike through the forest of Cape Breton. Great for beginners of most ages. The falls are a beautiful place to see. Takes from 45 to 90 minutes start to finish.

An easy trail, quite some closures so only way of getting in and out (both the startpoint and the falls) is using the same path in both directions. Clean toilets at the start of the trail. No special shoes needed. The falls are gorgeous!

Nice and easy drive/hike in, and is well marked. The forest energy was pleasant on the hike in, with some profound trees that somehow grew right ontop of rocks/boulders. The trickiest part here was climbing up the side to see the actual waterfall. You'll see some footing from others, but it isn't exactly marked.

Such a beautiful place to go for a hike!

Scenic view at its best

easy hike nice falls

A dramatic glimpse into the highland water cycle. Water descends the impressive falls from the boreal plateau, and the well drained soils of the steep slopes support a canopy of deciduous leaves in summer. That's how you get a shady valley to enjoy an easy walk to the perfect pondering place.

Great hike no matter the season! Awesome hike with the kids as it's not a relatively long hike and get a bonus waterfall at the end. They even plow the road to the provincial park in the winter so you can snowshoe!

Such a beautiful place for a relaxing hike. The trails are so welcoming. The falls are so mesmerizing. Nature at its finest.

Lovely hike to a waterfall. Difficult level at the falls.

The trail isn't difficult for getting to the falls. The falls itself is great.

It's a short and easy hike to do if you're in the Baddeck area. It took us about 1hr 45mins to complete the full loop, if you just go to the falls it's probably 45mins to do a there and back hike. The trail has some nice views and great scenery, so its well worth it if you have the time.

Amazing place to go! But follow road signs if they differ from Google Maps directions.

Beautiful place ????????

Not for inexperienced hikers, nature walkers or seniors. It may be beautiful when you reach the falls, if you make it to the falls. Maps are difficult to understand and trails are poorly marked. Very swampy in some areas so have proper hikers footwear.

Easy trail to follow. Right now Aug. 2020 they are updating the trail surface. New gravel etc. It will be very nice to walk on. Falls were good. Water clear. Worth the walk in!

Easy stroll through the woods. Water levels are low this time of year, but still a nice walk. Recommended hiking any season. Takes about 1-2 hours, depending on the trail.

Bit of a hike and Google maps to drive there from Baddeck led us to a strange place where we actually had to hike to the park but the falls themselves were impressive.

Views were stunning, park part needs work though. Careful where you step and this place is beautiful.

Beautiful scenery!

Easy hike- just have to watch your step- rocks and roots. Nice n quiet.

Hiked the falls in February, 2019. We hiked in using snowshoes with no poles. Some trials were closed and some bridges were out. Other than that the main falls trail was open for exploring. The river was frozen over but we were careful not to stumble too close to the suspected water's edge. Great get away for the day and beautiful drive in from Sydney.

Nice waterfalls The trail to them is good and easy just become little tough toward the end with big rocks

Worth the walk in. The falls were impressive

Was a beautiful hike want to go again

It's a beautiful hike. The end of the trail is amazing

Pleasant hike with an exceptional friend!

Beautiful site

Easy walk with a great payoff. The falls are beautiful. Nice parking area with two vault toilets available.

BEAUTIFUL ❤️

Nice easy hike in. Most of the trail is new and wide.

Great little hike to a nice falls

Very nice waterfall. Wish they fixed the river trail.

Hidden Gem.

Beautiful waterfall, hike is pretty easy but gets rocky near the end. Pool at base on waterfall is shallow so you can wade in it. Excellent experience.

Well-maintained Trail, absolutely gorgeous scenery. I am definitely going back to see what it looks like with snow all over the ground and trees!

The falls were amazing, but none of the trails are marked with names and it doesnt tell you how to get to the falls.

Well groomed trail ending at a scenic waterfall.

Nice small hike, enjoyed walking in the woods. Half of the trail was closed.

Such a beautiful place to visit , and hike

Great hike and excellent views from the top of the falls. Not a very hard climb at all.

Lovely walk in along river trail that loops round to falls..

Nice walk but not very spectacular in the summer; the waterfall is not very impressive then, since there is not much water that runs in the river. The loop walk is closed because the bridge is out. However, if the water level is low, it is still possible to do the loop by crossing the stream next to the closed bridge. There is a nice picknick area at the start of the trail.

Lovely trail and beautiful falls when the water level is higher. The last bit of the trail is a bit more difficult as there was some washout after the Spring Thaw. Took around 30 mins to hike in to the falls.

I went in the winter, great place for snowshoeing. Be careful close to the falls. It can look as if it's just snow sometimes, but dont walk off the trail. Theres a river under all that snow.

Beautiful wooded trail. Easy walk. Great for kids! Outhouses and picnic tables at the trail parking lot.

Very nice hike and the falls are beautiful. There are a few tricky parts close to the falls (very rocky) but overall not strenuous.

Love this park. Beautiful waterfalls, and trail. Trail is rooty and rocky in some areas.

Short easy hike to a beautiful 3-cascade waterfall. Hiked in May, where still some trails were closed or under water or slippery. Better to go with rubber boots. For photographers the waterfall offers many possibilities for long-term exposures. Sadly, it's difficult to get the 3-casade in one shot. The trails are completely in a forest, which gives partly a mystical impression like being in the movie 'Lord of the rings'. It's worth it.

Breathtaking nature

Lovely hike in New Harris, Nova Scotia. At the end is a gorgeous waterfall. Breath taking my beautiful!

Beautiful and well-maintained!

Long hike too water falls but beautiful view worth it

I was there with my wife and son on 20 Sep 2014 and it was great!! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the view and the scenery. Hopefully we will be back soon!!

It was an awesome hike. Weather was a bit cold today. Will try again at a better day.

Nice hike, to the end is a beautiful waterfall you can sit and watch. 1 hour hike.

Really beautiful place. Year round.

Awesome falls. Beginner level hike.. Mostly flat trail
