A great provincial park, close to the city. Lots of activities, but the lake is a little sad.....classic Alberta lake. Tons of Saskatoon berries to pick.

Most enjoyable park , close to Grande-Prairie. Level, paved walkways. Barbeque, and play area for the kids.

Nolan Dyck

We camped overnight in one of their tenting sites, and it was fantastic! all the tenting only sites are fully grass, and where mowed recently. The sites are walk in only, but parking is close. Make sure to get your firewood early from the park! They close and lock the firewood access gates at 9, and do not open them until later in the morning.

David Yelligadu

Great place for kayaking and biking. Water looks gross at the edge of the lake but pretty good as you kayak further in.

Great little oasis outside of Grande Prairie. The few trails it has have great views with a lot of birds and flowers to spot. There can be a lot of mosquitoes and flies so repellent is necessary. Campground and beach are nice as well.

Henry Heide

Nice big play grounds for kid, volleyball net and nice bike trails.

Great volleyball courts!

I would love to give it a "4" for well maintained spaces, great private campsites, lovely small lake, hike and bike paths, free firewood, showers, clean amenities. Lots to do here!!!! But....be prepared to be surrounded by oversized RVs running generators all day!!! Past 11pm and well into 1 am as well. Maybe we just got unlucky with neighbours but judging by how many of them you can hear at a time....makes me think it's kinda a norm here. If there are rules like in other parks, they are not followed and no campground staff was visible to enforce any rules.

Tee Le

Disappointed...thought it would be a lot better.

I will give 5 stars, this is my favourite campsite. Very relaxing place. The shower room/washroom is a big help for me to get a full bath although it requires to pay a dollor per 5 minutes to get shower. The toilet is fine..

Ross Vegas

Great spot

Holly Meinen

Very helpful staff! Great provincial park! We really appreciate the clean bathrooms and free showers! Also free Saskatoon berries as far as the eye can see! We're going to have some nice pies this Christmas!????????

Nice place saskatoon berries where on and we eat lots of them. The campsites where large as you would expect in a provincial park. Free firewood but you had to look for good stuff. The lake was a disappointment you can't swim or fish from shore even if you had a boat motors are not allowed. The wildlife was fantastic deer, owls and lots of other small animals. Washrooms and showers where clean. I would recommend this park.

Jodi Lock

A good place for camping close to Grande Prairie. Firewood is free, but not kept sheltered so you may need to dig for dry wood if it's been raining. This year the entire campground other than walk in tent sites is reservable, which makes it difficult to get a site without reservations.

Sarah Weimer

Not much to do, but a great, well-kept park. Great place to see birds.

There's paths for walking, picnic areas & camping spots. In late summer you can pick Saskatoons. Swans & geese live on the lake. It's just a short drive from the city.

There are some nice day use areas as well as camping. The trails are a nice way to enjoy nature and see/hear all the birds. It appears to be fairly well maintained! It's a nice spot for a sunny day to be away from the city.

Quiet clean provincial park close to town. Showers are included in the rent and they're pretty warm/hot. Water has that soapy feeling so I think it's a little soft? Bring drinking water the park water does not have good flavour (no big deal). Dinosaur museum is 5 min drive away and Wembley is 10-15 minutes away with a grocery store. Gas station is not built yet so closest gas is in GP. West side of GP has Costco, and Walmart 20 or so minutes away. There are a few parks on the grounds. Lake would be good for canoeing, kayaking or pedal boating to shallow for any form of power boat. It's swampy if you come from anywhere with decent lakes but it's a calm peaceful place to walk around, bike or bird watch if that's your thing. If your looking for something deeper or cleaner check out Sturgeon lake by Valleyview, or Slave Lake. We like Jarvis lake by Hinton for a cute clean swimmable lake but that's 4 hours away.

michelle Pottie (Mich)

Doug Fletcher

A good place to go for a walk. A number of trails to follow. Have a picnic in the main area of the park. Places to camp with trailer, tent or camper.

Amanda S

Clean facilities. Their washrooms were always in working condition, never had issues with mounds of spiders coming from everywhere as you are trying to use the washrooms. (Really this is a big thing..because who likes a spider visiting them when they are the most vulnerable?) Clean lake and nice dock to look out onto. Happy it is dog friendly too, just wish there was a dog friendly swimming area

Jamie Rich

Rebecca Gittins

Great walking trails - visited in the winter- trails are plowed out

Devon Bonville-Wills

Great camping, with opportunities to berry pick for free. Unfortunately you cannot swim in the lake though.

We camp here a lot! Great campsite so close to town so you get all the perks of camping without being to far out if you need to still work ???? great trails to connect the loops and parks.

Beautiful place

James Proudfoot

Group camp area suited our group well. Great camp kitchen!

Darcy Smith

This park is a 10 out of 5 for nature, wildlife and location. 5 out of 5 for facilities and a 1 out of 5 for the Yahoo neighbors that show up on the weekend. The park rangers did do a great job telling these choice people to shut down their generators, shut off their music and get the 3 or 4 trucks out of one site. Being so close to Grande Prairie is a blessing and a curse. If you are looking to party... go to crown land... leave the parks to families and nature lovers.

Bill Wolfe

Nice place, if you can go during Saskatoon season (gold). It does need road maintaince and playground maintenance. There are a few geocaches in the area.

Patel Pankaj

Excellent park for day trip. Playground and ride for kids. Nice walking trails. Good for rv and tents camping.

Jennifer Kessler

Excellent trails and facilities!

Alvin Solano

Very nice place for camping and relaxation... even during winter time????

Brian Walters

Big private sites, good Park, beautiful views. There are pit toilets on the loops, but if you go to the shower area that flush toilets. The lake is large but only three or four feet deep. Saw a couple deer right in the campground, and heard lots of coyotes or Wwolves in the night

Cameron Smith

Beautiful camping spots, and when the berries are in season there are plenty.

Stephanie Walter

Clean campground but people just let their dogs roam free. It was very frustrating and no one was around patrolling to make sure everyone followed the rules.

Really nice location to spend some time with family.. I highly recommend it here especially when you're not too serious about camping and just want to have a camp-fire going while hanging outside in nature. The site is really well-maintained and there are even really nice trails where you can hike, including nice views! The facilities and utilities here are what make it one of the better camping-sites for those who just want to relax as there is electricity available at select spots here, along with clean washrooms.

Darren Desmarais

Tomas Krejcar

We had a nice large site with great privacy. Firewood is free but the fire"ring" is odd, it doesn't look like it would make a very good fire.

Nice place for a little peace and quiet.

The Patricks

Two and a half Stars they allow dogs which is nice in the campsites are decently private and the walk pathways are quite nice as well the big issue is the water the water definitely had some green algae and I was told it has green and blue algae throughout the year and of course my dog jumped in there right away so we had to bring him home and give him a bath but if you don't have a dog with a great campsite or if your dog hates water

Lisa bernardez

Great place to spend the day It was during the week so hardly anyone there place to swim dogs trails and places to just chill

Tim Cove

June 23 Free fire wood is the highlight. Paying $32 a night plus a registration fee for no potable water. So now have to pay for water as well. A shower whould have been nice but no hot water in the shower facility and no indication it will be fixed anytime soon. "Beach" is pretty poor - really needs some care and attention. Outhouses okay but need good cleaning (interior paint job). Some doors don't latch. Maintenance is needed. Sites are pretty big. But doesn't seem to be anyone around in the evening to enforce any kind of quiet time. I didn't come out here to listen to someone's music all evening. So, not too bad of a place (over priced at this time) but needs better management and maintenance taken care of. Guess this is what happens when you privatize the campgrounds.

Great little walking trails. Lots of wildlife and flowers!

I enjoyed the campsite, it was very clean and we had a beautiful view. I was hoping to get some fishing and swimming in as my site was right on the water. Unfortunately, after doing some research I found out that there are no fish in the lake and the lake is so full of algae and hundreds of leeches that I had no interest in swimming. I had to drive an hour north to find a decent place to swim and fish. Aswell, at night time all of the slugs come out. My coolers were covered in them and when you walk in the grass they would spring up into your shoes. It was pretty disgusting.

Carol Wiedman

Great snowshoeing, cross country skiing and hiking trails!

Great place to explore with the family. We will definitely be back.

Campsites are neat and tidy. Sites are surrounded by low scrub. The firewood was soaking wet and would not stay lit. The bathrooms were clean and functional.

Our fave campground! Pick and eat the Saskatoon's when in season. Most convenient campground due to its location from GP. Clean, beautiful and plenty of playgrounds for Street Poling lol.

Jordan Gustavson

Great place to camp, have a large family gathering, a picnic, kayak or canoe, or just hang out in nature

Rose Huebschwerlen

My family and I went there for a picnic and it was wonderful. There was a place for us to throw the ball around and a place to throw sticks for the dogs. It wasn't crowded with people and the people we did come across were pleasant.

Marika Jane

We stayed at the walk in tenting sites. They are large and right on the water, mostly private. The park is a bird sanctuary, so you can watch and listen to all kinds of birds. This adds a peaceful and serene touch to the place. The water is not suitable for swimming, but it makes a beautiful backdrop and you can watch birds and animals there.

Awesome highly recommend this camp ground.

This place is gorgeous. It has a lot of campgrounds to accommodate tons of people but it also has 7 walk in tent spaces which are really nice. Plenty of fresh water and free showers and firewood. There are saskatoons everywhere! I saw a deer chowing down while driving through. The woman at the front office was super nice and friendly and the price is right too. Unlike another campground a little south from here that forces you to register online using a tablet and then charges an additional $10 fee for doing so. If you're in the area I highly recommend this place.

Kevin Friesen

Its actually quite nice and close to town...many different types of birds, lots of wildlife. Sucks you can't fish there but otherwise is a beautiful campsite, a wonderful place to go if you just need to get out of town.

Blur whiteway

Nice big park for kids. Ballfield. Free wood

Tanya Saare

Very clean. Perfect with kids

Douglas Hall

very nice campground, but need to remeasure the campsite......can get bigger units in the spaces than they have on the website. We got our +40 foot 5th wheel in with not trouble. The lake can not be swam in, why go to the lake if you can not spend time in the lake?
