One of my fav spots to walk my dog in the GP area. It tends to get a bit busy in the summertime near the main parking area, but go further back towards the ski hill and out of the park boundaries and the people tend to thin out. Great spot to let your dog off the leash when out of the park, granted if your dog is good off leash. Have also run into people here whom have never trained their dogs at all, nor pick up after their dogs. Shame really.

Due to Covid-19 most of park is closed, only the 1st parking area is open. However, the trails are open and there are a few spots to have a fire (if there are no fire bans) and enjoy the outdoors.

I have great memories of all kinds of adventures involving O'Brian Park. It hurts me to say that the park hasn't been maintained at all and there isn't much reason to visit. I understand it's had to battle semi frequent flooding over the years, but it is clear even minimal effort hasn't been made to keep the park open.

Very nice place to get away from the city life. If you are wanting to reconnect or reunite with nature I should say this is definitely a place to check out. Highland recommending that place. Too bad I could not spend more time there.

Great place to walk dogs everywhere we went closer to town was crazy busy This was a nice Park to enjoy some peace and quiet with our dogs. There didn't seem to be any river access Lots of picnic tables and shaded as well as Sunny areas too

Beautiful park for pictures, family events and a great network of hiking trails.. some trails are damaged near the river and banks collapsed, paths have been created to by pass this but they are still being worked on.

Watch out for loose rocks coming from the trucks hauling them down to the construction zone. Nearly got hit by a rock the size of a loaf of sourdough. Yikes! Fortunately there was no oncoming traffic or it would have been disastrous. The park was great but be aware that the only way back to GP is to go past Groveland and take the road out to Highway 40 - quite the detour.

Cute little gem right next to town. Worth a walk in the park or the woods. Take any garbage with you when you leave please. Respect our parks. Maintained by park rangers. Gates are opened and closed by the rangers in am and later pm.

Gorgeous place any time of the year. If you're looking for a place to come and spend the day around a campfire, tossing a Frisbee around and letting your dog run free, this is it. Come here in the winter months for a gorgeous place to take your Christmas card photos, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery.

We love going out to O'Brien. Its not far from Grande Prairie which is a bonus. Your right along the river so you can hang out down there or up at the campfire sites. There is tons of space out there for kids to run, have a family function either big or small it doesnt matter there is lots of room.
