REVIEWS OF Moose Lake Provincial Park IN Alberta

Brandon Koperski

Boat launch is shallow have to back the truck way into the water to get it off the trailer. Water is very high up into the trees.

Sara Souza

Love it!

Patsy Spacil

Nice place

Meagan Adam

Our new favorite lake! Too bad we live 8hrs away or we would go often! Love the Pelican Point MD Campground, highly recommend camping there!

Derek Edwards

Campsites are an average size, nice little sandy beach but staff has not cleaned up debris after the winter (Sticks, dead weeds, etc.), no showers/comfort station, and there are a lot of dead pine trees around the site that possess a huge potential for fire (spread from camp grounds). Very nice playground for the kids and lots of trees are a positive.

george geogolf@telus.net

Too darn cold for this time of the year & no blue berries.

Z Zgorelec

Nice and calm, clean

Nadine Janvier

Beautiful lake and grounds.

Kirk Holinaty

Chris Spurgeon

Nice deep sites, well spaced apart, great playground in loop A.

Rob Wall

This was our first trip there and we stayed in Loop A, not many trees they all looked dead. We do our morning walks and trail hikes to check out the other sites. Loop B looked a lot nicer for sure. I would go back again.

The trees are all mostly dead/ burnt from a fire in early June, but the trails are beautiful and the lake is beautiful. There is a blue/green algae alert out, swimming might not be a good idea. Campsite is not very private, you can see most your neighbors.

Amber Faganello

Very nice. The lake is huge and not too heavily used.

Its a beautiful place, lots of wild life.

Trees are not good from a tornado that went thru 2 years ago also lots of lichen like growth totally finishing off the trees. Having said that tho, the campground is peaceful. Nice and neat. Great walking trails.

Its very green with algae so I would not recommend swimming. Also there are lots of people on speed boats so not suitable for paddle boarding or rafting. Definitely more of a jet ski/ wakeboarding lake

Moose Lake was very peaceful place but there were lot of mosquito around so mosquito repellent is a must.

Fishing is great!

Linda Feldman

Great fishing

Good park for cross country skiing even if no trails are manicured. Fireroad Trail is beautiful (but the one marked "X-Country Ski Trail" does not seem to exist at all). All the trails make for good nature walks too in the haunting jack pine forests at any time of year.

I went there this passed summer and I felt like I got the worst attitude from the people at the gate. I thought it was cuz I arrived late but some ppl have to work. But someone else who was a regularly there checked in and they were so nice. But to me they were so rude and snooty especially when they had to give me direction to my camp site. The camp site was ok but cuz of the service I will not return.

Biked from Bonnyville and dropped in for a dinner over camp fire. Great little park

Boat launch, fish cleaning station, hot showers, clean spacious sites. Group sites are huge, this is a great place to bring the family as long as you dont bring the quads or dirt bikes.

Nice place. Only downside is some sites are small if you're bringing a trailer.

Scott Gordon

Tommy Gunning

Great place for the family. Quiet, nice spots, well maintained.

We were there for the heatwave, I'm sure everyone was running their AC if they had it. The power didn't miss a beat. Sites are well kept, we hiked the trails around the park, and hit the beach. Everything was tidy(including the outgouses), the park was great. We will be back for sure. Moose lake has great pike fishing. Fyi, The boat launch is a very shallow launch. Bonus tip, the Franchere store just down the road sells firewood at a better cost than in park.

Greg

Nice place

Campsites are a reasonable size, even for a large Class A motorhome. Leveling of sites varies. Ours was pretty level, next door was quite sloped. Very large number of trees are dead and down, but lots of dead trees still standing, which could fall on your unit if the wind came up. Pretty good potential for fire hazard, if you are not careful with your fire. Keep your fire small. Beach is small and could have used raking. Water was pretty clear, although a bit of seaweed. Trails were kept pretty well, very clear, easy to follow. The campsite dries up very quickly after a rain. Not a very busy campground, so it was very quiet, which we like.

Not sure because I'm at Pelican Poinnt

Dennis Smith

Sites were well spaced and large. Good hiking opportunities. Ok Beach area. Jack Pine forest is dying. Suggest actually checking out the sites in person and not trust that from the province's reservation site. Our site was supposed to be treed but only 1 tree was present when we got there. Rest were cut down.

Aynsley McCreary

Great memories here at the provincial park! The beach is beautiful and the campsites are clean and very well maintained.

Great fishing at this lake. Got tipped off to a couple of good locations for perch and pile by the locals. Can't speak for what the lake looks like on the summer but it's fairly nice in the winter and conveniently close to Bonnyville.
