Fun spot for an amazing day out with the family. Lots of walking trail around the lake and most importantly the museum which is the centerstage if this site. There are a few restaurants, stores and lots of parking space. Must visit if you are in Calgary.

Mariana Garcia

I love this place! The museum is amazing, It took me back to old times, Ill be back soon ????

Priya Lalwani

Wonderful place to go with family or friends. There is a lot to explore, walk around, experience how our ancestors used to live, ride a horse carriage, ride a steam engine train, enjoy the rides at the amusement park, explore the neighborhood almost about a century ago. My favourite part is that the employees dress to the time that the park is trying to portray. Not only are their outfits of that time but also their hairstyles as well as their facial hair (if they have any). It is amazing and worth the money.

For the last five years, my husband and I have been taking our grandchildren to Heritage park. They seem to always look forward to our visits and go out of their way to prepare lunch and their day pack. We love the staff their as they are friendly and keep the grounds clean. We hope to enjoy more quality family time here before they grow too old to take us.

K S

Great area de spend with your family and kids. Lots of historical houses and history of Alberta. Love this place in the summer time!

Heather Hick

Fab day out. Lots to see and do. Fun for all the family

Wayne Fletcher

This place was great to show what the Canadian community was like in years past. Lots of informational stuff plus interesting things to do (old style fair ground, paddle steamer, steam train ride all included in the entry fee, which itself is very reasonable). Make sure you have a full day (or maybe two) to visit. We spent half a day and unfortunately didn't get to see all of the attractions.

Dustin Rogers

One of Calgary's iconic attractions. Has a new area of the park open this year (2021). Great for families and people of all ages. Learn something new while having fun. Lots of grassy areas to relax in the sun and have a picnic, lots of food and shopping available onsite.

William Laurendeau

Very great place to visit, great old vehicle collection, staffs are very kind and friendly, great explanations from all staff members in history of the site.

Pej Namshirin

Admission prices seemed very high, especially when charging for kids 3 and up. But we used an Entertainment Book coupon and later realized that all the rides were included. We went on the train, the paddleboat, and a few of the fair rides. We had the bison burger and pot stickers at Club Cafe (highly recommend), as well as the Vulcan ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyed our day all the way to closing time.

Kelly

Overall the quality of the park was good. Lots of interpreters, however only maybe 2/3 were in character. Two stood out as amazing (an older lady cooking in one of the houses took some time to tell us stories) and a lady in the school was very friendly. $26 was way too steep for entry when you also have to pay for parking ($6). The shops were decently priced and food was reasonably priced. The cinnamon bun with cream cheese was amazing.

Angela Vallejos

Had a great time at the park with my family...kids enjoyed it...lots of parking and for the price, was well worth it with all of the inclusions(train, boat and midway rides)...line ups weren't long for any of the rides and was the perfect weather( not too hot or cold, breezy)

Benjamin Kim

I attended the Ghost Tour with my girlfriend a while back and it was a totally awesome and spooky experience! Lindsay was our tour guide and she did a marvelous job entertaining us! :)

Pax Donaldson

A fun outing for everyone! Whether on a date, flying solo or with your family you can't help but enjoy this walk back in time!! With events happening around the park all day (included in admission), and the staff are happy to tell you all the very cool stories associated with the antiques, shops etc on display. Worth the visit, and easy to lose an entire day in the park!

Vampyr Warrior

Lots of fun, informative, first time seeing Gasoline Alley here at the park. Also educational learning about Calgary's first municipal government on this school trip with my Daughter and her classmates.

Sandra Hill-Marshall

Heritage Park is an awesome place to take foreign visitors to, to view and learn about Alberta history. It is also a great place to take children and not only educate them but have fun visiting the stores, seeing the old school house with its wooden desks, old dentist chairs, blacksmithing, bakery - yum, farm animals and the rides, which no child can resist, plus a boat ride. Highly recommended for all ages.

Jessica Flamond

Bring your walking shoes !! Most of the paths are made from gravel which adds to the theme. Great place to spend a sunny afternoon,i wouldnt recommend coming here in bad weather just because you are going in and out of buildings all the time. there are only a few exhibits where you are inside for a while, family friendly park with lots to see and do. If you can, catch a ride on the boat that goes over the Glenmore reservoir. Its a relaxing 10-20 minute ride and a great end to the day, oh and don't forget to stop for fun on the vintage carnival rides.

Yuqing Guo

Highly recommend!! Steamed train from 1940s, paddle wheel boat, horse-drawn wagon, old time amusement facilities..... Everything is included in the ticket ????

Charissa Splane

We had such a great time. Even with many of the exhibits closed we enjoyed the train, car museum and restaurants. But my kids loved the actors who stayed in character the whole time and really interacted with us. The characters were having so much fun and that was infections ???????????? thankyou to all of the staff who happily stopped and answered 100 questions with enthusiasm and a smile even if we couldn't see it ????

A&W Hamilton&Barchard

Super fun with a 5 year old. We spent the day on the carnival rides, the paddle-wheeler and train. We'll go back to take in more of the park. Don't imagine you can do this site in a day. There is so much to see and do. For all age.

Clive Switzer

You could not go through all the places plus the rides. True value for your buck. The boat ride, the train and amusement park rides were fantastic. All the people in character and very knowledgeable of the establishment they represented. There is live theater in the park and right on the streets. This is definitely a seasoned pass park. The food is fantastic, then there is gasoline ally. The old cars, trucks and equipment are breathtaking. I will be a regular customer. We will be getting season passes.

Kevin Borst

Heritage Park is the most underrated value in all of Calgary. Mainly for families and if you have an annual pass. I really enjoy it with my family and we go just about every week. Let me tell you what would bring this four star review to five stars... atmosphere music. When you walk around the park there is pretty much zero music. They need to take a hint from Disneyland on how important atmosphere music is. Also they need to rethink their hours. 10am is way too late to open for families. They should be open at 9am. When dealing with naps it would be great to get there early. Im sure lots of families would appreciate if they opened at 9 or 930. When we get there at 10am a ton of families are there waiting for them to open! The ticket booth at least should open 15 minutes before! A little silly if you ask me!

Tony Smerychynski

Went there for Thomas the tank engine. Expensive, but awesome. Really cool space, lots of parking. Unfortunately the Glenmore reservoir is out of service this year so the lake is really low, affecting views. Play spaces are great, really enjoyable experience.

Parisa Hamilton

Lovely place to spend a day with family. Very well-maintained. Rides are perfect for little ones. Staff are very friendly. H&S guidelines are well implemented. Highly recommended if you are visiting Calgary.

Mark Lack

It has been a family favourite for years, now its the grandkids turn to fall in love with history and a fun day out with Grandpa's famous picnic! We will be back. It just keeps getting better. Only suggestion is more garbage bins, with the PC recycling and composting movement you forgot old fashioned garbage bins! Not everything can be recycled or composted and with no bins everything was just getting dumped in the recycling.

Priyanka Vyas

A perfect way to have a look into the past and know their lifestyle.

Caitlyn Fontaine

Wow!! Such a great day had by all. First off the staff are beyond friendly and made our experience a 10. You can tell it must be a great atmosphere to work in. The park is so large and truly had a ton of fun elements. I loved the underground mine, the fair, the town and actors involved. The fur trade area, all the cute houses and informative staff, let's not forget the wow factor train!!!! Gasoline alley was so fun to look at. The boat and the amusement rides. This is a hands down experience everyone wants to have!

Steve K

Great day at the park. Enjoyed the new Prospector Ridge exhibit! Also a great day for a ride on the Moyie!

Rahul Rane

This is one of Calgary's best attractions in my honest opinion. The train rides take you to the times in the past. There are lot of things to do on each and every train station. The cruise in he reservoir is lovely too. Perfect place to take your children

Tabish Ansari

Excellent place to visit and spend a day with family and friends. Ample parking space and close to transit. You can enjoy horse cart, ship and train rides as well. Decent ice cream parlour and cafe, washrooms available.

Sam Sharok

Very exciting place which can be interested for young generation w see any we experience our heritages.

Pam Bowyer

Went on the recent Ghost Tour and it was absolutely wonderful. Nelson is a gregarious, knowledgeable and excellent guide. Very good experience, great night. Love Heritage Park. Upon reflection, it would be great if more First Nations history was incorporated in future tours. We settled on lands that had thousands of years of history before our colonization. I know it’s a problem, as very little visible history remains, but hey, we’re all immigrants here. Sam Livingston took land that didn’t belong to him. Let’s not make him out to be a hero.

Joey Simon

Very cool village. Well worth the entrance fee. Lots of history here. Almost feels like going back in time. Obviously, you need to ride the train and the S.S. Moyie when you're here. Lots of cool buildings and shops. Highly recommend the visit.

Christine Rau

We chose Heritage Park for our wedding venue primarily because we knew we would get beautiful photos, had always had good experiences with their food and restaurants, and because we discovered it was an exceptionally affordable to host a smaller wedding there. We had started planning our wedding in 2019 for the August of 2020 so we were obviously caught up in the in the disaster that was COVID; they were so accommodating and worked with us to still bring our vision to life. Both Jennifer and Naomi in the events department worked hard to help us find ways to have a wedding that was safe but still something that was exciting. We were able to move into a larger venue for the reception to accommodate social distancing and make other necessary adjustments to ensure our guests felt comfortable attending. In the end we had to separate our ceremony and reception party between two dates given the gathering restrictions at the time of the ceremony were still quite strict. It is such a beautiful location and a spot well known to most Calgarians. We were very happy with our wedding ceremony and look forward to our reception party in the fall.

Phanat Sy

Not a ton of stuff for babies, but little kids, yes. It was nice of them to have water hoses shooting mist on the hot days

Steve Longfield

Excellent place for the family! Train rides, horse wagon rides, amusement park and treats are all great activities for the kids. So much history on display as well. Don’t forget to try the fresh baked goods from the bakery, or the delicious ice cream from the Vulcan Ice Cream Parlour! They have Gluten and Dairy free options at the ice cream parlour, and some small snacks scattered through the park. If you have food allergies or sensitivities, it’s best to come prepared with your own food.

Mary Genevieve Gutierrez

Went here on a weekend. Very foggy but it was a good experience. We tried the cheese bread, hotdog, cookies. It is nice to walk around and seeing other people and families feeling the Christmas spirit. Was able to take pics with Family. Very historical, clean and family friendly.

Olga Courtnage

It's heritage park!!! Enough said. Walk, play, shop, ride the rides, eat a hot dog, enjoy the views. 2018 will have no boat rides but it's still worth visiting.

Nicole C

This place is absolutely amazing, so much to see that we didn't even get a chance to explore everything , we should of arrived earlier. My kids loved loved this place! The rides were fun, the bakery is a must to stop at. The train and boat ride were incredible. There is something to see at every turn. Absolutely recommend this place and all the friendly people that work here.

Saurabh Ram

Great park. Absolute perfection for bike path, walk path, contouring the lake and big lake for kayaking and other water sports.

Angela G.

Loved!! This place. It is like taking a step back into history.

Robert Eaton

We love Heritage Park! We always get a seasons pass. That makes it easy for us to go for a few hours, or the whole day without guilt. All of the food is great, the bakery, ice cream, sandwiches. We recommend you try the breakfast sandwich at the cafe. All of the rides are included in the entry fee and our daughter loves riding the train and the boat, the SS Moyie. There is a huge staff, all dressed and acting in period clothing.

Anonymous

What an awesome place. Just wished it was open later than 5, I didn't give this place enough time you'll want a good 5 hours at least if not all day. It's a period place with different sections. Some old schools, homes, jails, hotels etc with some old artifacts in there. Employees dressed in period pieces spread around in and outside of the buildings. There are restaurants, shops, candy shops, you'll be plenty busy. Also a few rides that are quite fun. Tons of stuff for adults and kids. A cool steam engine train that goes around the park with departure times, feels quite legit, and a cool old boat I didn't have time for.

Alex Wilks

I must say, this is quite the park for a family activity, history buff tour, or late century culture connoisseur. There seems to be new areas here for people to explore. I haven't been here for years and I must say it is refreshing to be back. The park is large enough that you could easily spend all day here. In addition, the staff is quite knowledgeable and deserve high praise for their knowledge and work. Definitely recommend.

Bob Burgers

We've had year passes for 3 years now and it's still fun!!! Rides are perfect for kids under 10 and not so crazy that parents can't go with. The bakery is always our first stop. Very affordable!!! Staff is always helpful, knowledgeable and good to kids. The open grass areas are perfect for kids to run and play. Everyone should visit at least once.

Janine M

What's not to love about heritage park, there's always something to do for kids all ages. We love coming over and over again!

G Mav

This has been the best historical park I have ever been to. From the food to the sights and you even get to ride an old steam train! The people on site are very helpful and friendly too. So much to see and do there it's HUGE! 10/10 would highly recommend for the family and would go again. WORTH THE PRICE TAG.

Shahin Khan

Great place for getting upclose with calgary heritage. Awesome for families outing , enjoyed the train ride, carriage rides, steamer cruise . Must see!

Thiên Tín Trương (Giảng và Dạy Kinh Thánh)

The funeral of my grandfather and father was held here. Thank you for making the best of our family. May God bless you.

Ryan Hendrickson

Great fun for the kids and for me. I especially enjoyed the car museum, seeing Cords and Hudson's and even a Ford Model A similar to the one my grandpa had. The steam train was great for the kids too. The loved watching and riding it, and loved the various carnival rides.

Jan Timmers (VE7JBT)

Plan to spend a full day here. Lots of things to do and see. Plenty of opportunities to eat. Gasoline Alley was a favourite of mine, but the voyage on the S.S. Moyie was great as well.

Rita L

cool place to check out if you have an extra day here!

Jason Clement

Great place to spend the day & you will need a full day. There is loads to see and do and the train ride is fantastic for both adults and children. They could do with some type of bus services to run from downtown and back is it's a little tricky to get there via public transport.

Mark Stegemeyer

This place is awesome! From a fleet of antique vehicles - including signs, pumps, and other accessories- impeccably restored. A real, working steam engine circles the park stopping at authentic stations where conductors tell, "all aboard!" in classic style. The place is a perfect recreation of 1900 to 1925. Authentic buildings, working blacksmith and carpentry shops, restaurants, ice cream shoppe - an entire old western town. It is amazing, even the staff are in costume - delivery trucks and maintenace men too. After having a look around that may take all day - the artifacts are numerous and authentic, take the kids to the fair style rides or have an ice cream cone. Or, have your picture taken with a Mounty and try the jail out for size. It is ALL here.

Chris Ptolemy

Was a Sunday night wedding reception so didn't actually see that much of the park but what I did see made me want to see more. Looking forward to going back

Jeremy King

Great place to learn Calgary's history. During covid 19 they have worked hard to keep people safe

Tommy Jordan

This was not what I expected, I thought it was mostly a museum, I guess I didn't research as much before going but God damn it was beautiful, tons of old vehicles buildings, fair rides ( all restored for use ) steam boat rides and train rides, unfortunately I didn't give myself enough time to do everything so I will be back for sure !

Heather Steyn

Lovely walking history park. Scenic and very informative. Great places for children as well.

Rachel Altman

We had our wedding at Heritage Park in August. It was absolutely stunning. So many great venues/photo locations. With covid, obviously things were a little different. But Heritage Park went above and beyond! They move our venue to accommodate our party and allow for extra distance, had sanitizing stations set up, stayed up to date with all the local regulations, and made sure everything went to plan! Food was excellent, Staff were phenomenal, venue was gorgeous. They were very organized and helped us every step of the way. There were so many amazing photo locations, especially by the water, so beautiful. The only thing to be aware of is that you don't have much time to set up. The park closes at 5:00pm and we could start setting up at 5:30pm and our ceremony started at 6:30pm. So it was a bit of a time crunch but overall it was a perfect day! (Updated to add photos)

Daniel Flores

Amaeing scenarios a trip to the past, staff always with a smile

Mia Ostere

I love this place. It's quite the lovely place to walk around, and observe the past. We were at the Gunn's Dairy Farm for the Breakfast Buffet, it was amazing! Personally, my favorite place is the Stanford Standard - the history of the printers is just wow.

Peter Mayer

Well designed and exceptional staff that were friendly and extremely knowledgeable

Mark Powers

Great outing with the family. Take a full day to explore and see everything. General admission includes train rides, rides, boat and horse rides. Lots of bathrooms, ok food, animals to see, lots of actors and great scenery. Lots of parking. Annual passes are on par with other big attractions. Clean and highly recommend if you live in Calgary or an out of towner.

Cassandra DLCM

Even though we went to this living museum for the first time on the second to last day before it would close for the season, we still had an amazing time! The steam train ride is the perfect way to see everything before you choose where you want to go next. The little guy amusement rides are fun for the kids and nostalgic for the bigger people. We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the restaurant there. Can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer and see more of the stores!

Jayson Abraham

Great place to take kids. Also they have great knowledge of history. Would love to see more of the indigenous culture and history.

Volha S (SuddenGoods)

So much fun! hundreds of exhibits, rides, shops, restaurants and daily demonstrations and activities will keep everyone busy for at least 3 hours :)

Laura Combden

I love visiting Heritage Park. It's such a change from the bustle of every other event I take my kids to. It's a change of pace that feels reminiscent of the time period it tries to emulate.

Michael Dionne

Great place to take a child to explore. Safe secure get a seasons pass and take your time. It takes more then a few day to actually experience everything.

Daniela V

It is a very nice place to visit with family and visitors from other provinces or countries. Very well preserved and kids have some much fun. The only thing I find is that it is a little bit pricey and they have lots of space to update, renovate and/or create something new. In my last visit, two attractions weren't available and there are the ones more fun for kids.

Yolanda Campbell

Took my son here after not been able to for two years. He absolutely loved it. We will be back again. Plus they had the Anne Frank exhibit

Jordyn Blanco

This place is awesome! I have been here a couple of times and I love it!!???????? there is places to eat, there's also rides, like a ferriswheels, caterpillar ride, swings and a bumper car looking ride???? And we can't forget abut the old house! They are so amazing!!!!!! My favorite house of all is The One Room School House!!! I totally recommend this place!

Saúl Alejandro Romero Barrueta

A familiar place with historical importance. It's a fun way to look back at the early times of Calgary. Don't miss the chance to ride the train.

Judy Guenther

Love this place! Only bummer is everytime we're there only a select few rides are open, but otherwise it's fantastic!

Martha Hergert

Music in the Park Wednesday evenings all summer: free concert, food/drinks for purchase, beautiful park, washrooms nearby, parking available, what's not to like?

spydermcfly

This is a great place for a young family to spend a day. Once you are in everything other than food is free: amusement rides, paddle wheeler, train, horse and carriage. There is lots to see and the staff are dressed up to fit into the time frame. You will need to bring a stroller for the younger kids because displays are quite spread out.

Amanda Saunders

I grew up in Calgary and went to Heritage Park regularly. Now that I'm far away from Calgary, everytime I make a visit back it's nice to stop by. The park is affordable with tons to see and it's always such a special visit with my own family. Super clean and the bakery is always a win!

storyoncehappened

This was our first time visiting @heritageparkyyc and we absolutely loved everything starting from museum to riding steam train or walking down Front street to sitting near the lake . Fun for the family. Boat, train and horse drawn Carriage rides available in the park and also a handful of fun amusement rides for kids and adults alike. I would recommend people to go early as a single day is not enough to cover the entire park.

Veep Peep

Great place to learn a little history and try things from the past. This place is huge and will maintained. It will take a day, time well spent

Kai K

Nice place, spacious and great historic displays. Especially loved Gasoline Alley! Great food and very suitable for children.

Irede Ladipo

Great place . Nice historical content. Great fun for kids. Lovely kids and carousel. No other fees paid apart from the entry fees.

Kavin Thirukonda

A quaint little village with some nice picture places restaurants a little train ride and dock and lake for boats. A good place to visit in Calgary if you like history and such it shouldn’t take any longer than 30 minutes or so to see everything there is to see so there’s no reason to miss out. if you enjoy skipping rocks there’s a little trail past the rail road that leads to a nice spot with lots of flat rocks.

Sarah Conduct

Such a great day out, even in the middle of winter! The buffet breakfast for 'Once Upon A Christmas' is simply the best buffet I've ever had, plus the staff are so friendly! Well worth the money. We've been going every year (except COVID in 2020 when it was closed) and we will continue to go as our family tradition.

e. eng

What a delightful place to visit! Full of history re- enacted and activities for all. The staff was well informed and I enjoyed the ‘quick history lessons’ given by them. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the last summer farmers market and got some real good bargains for a hoot! They don’t open all year but the website will inform of the activities lined up.

Devan Lewis

Really well done with lots to do for the kids. Our kiddos are 4 & 6 and we have season passes.

Ashley Linfield

I would give maybe 4 1/2 stars because the water was too low to ride the ferry, but that's not anyone's fault. My son loved riding the steam train around the park, and the old fashioned amusement park/carnival rides are great for kids (and …

Guy Henly

Great atmosphere for all ages and the staff were really informative and truely looked like they enjoyed being apart of the park. It was a step back in time and a great chance to see inside the old historical buildings that made up Canada's history. The majority of the shops are fully functional (bakery, candy shop) ect and all the amusement rides and steam train/boat are included in the entry fee. Definitely worth a look at whilst in Calgary.

TxTonya

We love this place. We make a tradition of coming here the last day of the season. We always have so much fun. And surprisingly the weather is always fairly nice.

Shane Wenzel

Undoubtedly one of the best family experiences you could have in Calgary. Being able to enjoy the heritage that is Calgary from homes, to businesses, history makers all right down to cuisine. If you haven’t been it’s well worth the price of admission.

Jessica Connors

Went for Once upon a Christmas, it was nice to go wander the grounds. You have to pay for parking and the park plus guy was there waiting in case you didn't. It's nice you can go to a couple shops without paying to get in. Didn't think there were as many handmade type ornaments this year, a little more commercial. The bakery is great but be prepared to line up.

Sam Allthedodaday

This place is great. It's a blast from the past. Gem for history lovers.Went for Christmas and I'll be going back to check out in the summer. Lots of things for kids to do. Stop by the old time bakery and grab a cinnamon bun.

tim wilkinson

Amazing place for a party. Great staff. Amazing once in a life time cars.

LIZ ALELIZ

So much fun! We normally get an annual pass to bring our kiddo. Always looking to ride the train and the boat. Their special events are really fun too.

Hareem Shahnawaz

Beautiful representation of history. COVID 19 restrictions in place. Social distancing in place . For kids play area it is crowded but still COVID guidelines followed by staff.

Wade Guenther

A great place to take families to see some old world heritage about Calgary and life in general. They have artisan shops and historic buildings. It was interesting to go during the holidays because they have a Christmas train attraction.

Eve Henty

I LOVED it here!! Even by myself, I genuinely enjoyed walking around the grounds and interacting with the actors. Gasoline Alley Museum alone is brilliant - so many cool vintage motor-vehicles to look at. I also found a lot of funny and cool gifts in the gift shop. Will be back with my family next time they visit!

Becky Reid

Fun place to visit. I recommend taking the short boat ride, since the views are amazing!

Opeyemi Snr

This place is Beautiful, spacious, lovely, historical. The summary of my experience there is described in one word ‘aha-mazing’.

CRJ -900LR

Been a very loyal customer here for over a decade. Come here for many day trips in the summer, and fall. Highly recommend the ghost tours if you’re interested in learning the background detail behind each historical building, and the spirits within them. Full credit to my tour guide Lindsay who was very friendly, and open for questions during the tour. As a person who is really interested in the railway I love the steam trains they have here, and the collection or carriages they have indoors. Very authentic, and original in the 20th century, and there are many great areas to take photo, and video of the train in action. Railway days is amazing, and I highly recommend it to other train fans because you get live in person demonstrations on how the trains operate, and signalling as well as the full tour of the whole elaborate collection the park boasts for participants.

Berto s.

Spent a whole day there, loved everything. Staff members are friendly and helpful. Attractions are well maintained. Rode the train and the boat, loved the overall atmosphere. Visited on the August 2017 long weekend. Totally a must see in Calgary.

Ehsan Zeynali

We enjoyed an amazing family day here with a lot to do things. It took us back to 1920s in a nice and clean place. Don't miss it in Calgary!

NADIA MORGANA

Such a beautiful and very atmospheric place for a walk. It’s better to come early, there is a lot what to see. We had a great ride on an old steam train and plunged into history old 1830yy.We’ll back again ????????

Claudia Weis

I have been coming here for 42 years. It still ignites a childlike joy in me. I'm so happy to continue to be a part of this magical place!

Joan Castro

i love it in here most especially at night where the lamp posts gives more depth and meaning to the place. I usually go here every night for a smoke and sometime alone. parking accesible. ????

Salima Samji

Team building event with the company Scavenger hunt through the park Park was closed at 5:00 therefor our company had the place to ourselves until 10:00 pm Once scavenger hunt was over proceeded to the boat dock to enjoy drinks food music on the paddle boat Crew were excellent and entertaining Would recommend this

Laura Jorritsma

Staff can be a little difficult. My Two year old daughters squeals of excitement in the children’s area were met by a staff member telling us my daughter needed to be quiet or leave. That she didn’t want to hear screaming. It’s annoying and my daughter needs to learn to use her inside voice. She promptly got her supervisor to enforce us leaving. The supervisor was as shocked as we were, and offered us free admission this following Sunday. The staff member and supervisor did both work to peacefully resolve the disagreement, my children were oblivious to the conflict, and we tried to enjoy the rest of our visit, though the incident really did ruin the experience for myself and my husband.

Istiaque Hasan

You can go 100 years back and live a day...incredible place, Canada's largest living history museum.

mcdermc

Wow, what a memorable place to visit. Been there loads of times and probably haven't seen the half of it. The ultimate family-friendly spot with something to do for all ages.

Diana Boyd

Wonderful experience. Took my son here a year ago, he enjoyed the train, and the boat. He is into everything moving. I can't wait for it to be fully open again. I want the fresh bread and the delicious candies. No complaints.

Rustom Khan

Our family's favorite place for adventure, relaxation and food. Scenic views, rich history and entertainment all together in one place. Super friendly staff! Best family's day out!

Bushra Idris

Awesome place. busy with visitors at Christmas time happy families with children , Cute Santa is there to take photos with him. Nice place to take brunch and visit all places and shops.

Christine Lamoureux

What an incredible experience! There is so much to see and do. I definitely highly recommend it if you're visiting Calgary or even if you live in Calgary and are just looking for something to do for the day. The cinnamon buns at the old timey bakery are absolutely delicious so don't forget to grab some to go!

Elybeth Torres

This park is beautiful, ideal to spend the day with the children because there are several attractions for the little ones

John Guy Taylor

Great place but actually closed during the winter ???? ❄️ time

Nick Fortin

We were supposed to stay there for about 2 hours then find a campground for the night. We stayed 4.5 hours, every part of it was interesting.

Go time

This was my family’s first time here. We loved it. This place was laid out great and had old buildings and other heritage buildings to reminisce about. The staff were either teenagers or seniors but did an excellent job at their jobs! The costumes were great and there were even rides for all ages including carousels, steam ships, steam trains, horse powered wagons, swings and Ferris wheels to name a few. The food was reasonably priced and didn’t make you ill. Parking wasn’t cheap but it wasn’t expensive either. All around a good day and didn’t have to break the bank for go! Basically the experience was great and we will definitely be back!

Agnesse777

Great day out with family or for a couple. They always have something special planned for Thanksgiving and Christmas so make sure you visit in deferent seasons and of course in the summer so you can enjoy all the rides.

Wejdan

I had a pleasant experience here. One of my most wonderful and unforgettable days ❤️. Super nice and the workers are amazing, please go and have the greatest time ever.

Andrew

Wonderful place to explore and learn about both Calgary and Alberta history and how people lived at the time. Lots of activities for kids and a fully functional train.

Kirk Dewhurst

Heritage Park is a great place to spend the day to go to go back in time to see how people lived in the 19th century and early 20th century. There is so much to see and do that I cannot provide an exhaustive list suffice to say that you day will be filled with things to to do, see, eat and buy that the time will pass fast. The train and boat rides are great. There is an amusement park. The restaurant here has great food. Love everything about this place. I would recommend coming here to have a fun experience with your friends or family.

K&A C.

One of the best places I've visited. I had more fun than the kids.

Noelle Richard

My family and I went to the Ghoul's night out for Halloween and it was amazing. The set up was so cool and there was so much thought put into the trick or treating. The highlight of the night was going into the wainwright hotel for some food and hot chocolate and the incredible staff there. Our order took a little longer because they were slammed, and they quickly came out to apologize and double check our order. The food was absolutely delicious (top 5 burgers I have ever had. REALLY. ) and the extra care from them was so appreciated. I hope they all have a very Happy Halloween and we can't wait to go again next year! Thanks again from table 1!

Matthew Deans-Beynham

Amazing. Best day out in ages. Fun. Educational. Culture and history made fun! Perfect family outing. Just brilliant.

Felipe de Jesús Flores

Went for once upon a Christmas, nice decorations all over but not many kids activities all over the event.

Val

Huge historical amusement park! Interactive and fun place to go to! Could not finish the whole place in one day. Downfall: Have to pay for parking, and entrance fee kinda pricey. But worth it!

Karen McAuley

Can't wait to head back after covid restrictions are gone mostly and enjoy ALL the park has to offer. Enjoyed going even with restrictions lots to see and learn.

Leann Thompson

I love history, so when I have a chance to learn more about Alberta's history, I'll take it. The people who work and volunteer there are great! They are very helpful and super informative! If you are interested in CP Rail's history, there is lots to take in! Gasoline Alley is equally aweome if you like antique vehicles. There is so much to do and see there that we made a day of it. There are a surprising number of shops to purchase a variety of goods, and many stops for snacks or a meal. Visiting the bakery, while crazy busy, is definitely a must! The midway is a fantastic family stop. Our visit was really enjoyable and the entrance fee was very reasonable for the experience had. I highly recommend visiting the park.

Christopher Inocalla

Definitely we will come back again. Rich in history and a day is not enough to roam around.

Vivek Patel

It was a fun place. We learned a lot about the history of Canada. The staff were very knowledgeable and passionate about everything, which made it worth while.

Ria Kihee Kim

It's the perfect place to play with the kids. All you need is an entrance ticket to rides, cruises and steam trains. A place to see the old days of Calgary!

Brent Seungwook Kim

Nice place to bring your famaily. There’re many thing to see and ride. Fantastic place for kids

David

Surprisingly a 5 yr old never gets tired of going on the same 6 rides every week. And dad enjoys the sour dough bread.

John William Wade

I have literally come here so many times that it wouldn't even be possible to estimate how many times I have had the pleasure of spending time here. There is a new experience waiting for you each time you come. Be it due to the seasons or holidays or just plain noticing something I hadn't noticed before. The park is pristine and the staff play their roles diligently. It was a treat my parents passed to me as a child and now it is my priveledge to pass this gem on to my own children.

Gurpreet Kaur

Great for people who are interested in learning history. Or fun and food are good as well. Workers are really nice and passionate. I loved the Anne Frank show. Excellent to educate children about the past.

Karla McNally

A great family day out, such a beautiful park, exquisite buildings and extremely passionate and informative staff, we were transported back to the early 1900's. The letterpress shop, sweet shop and ice-cream parlour were my highlights.

Lucas SLeal

Incredibly beautiful place, great for touring and knowing a bit about Canadian history. Full of replicas of old structures, place to snack and great reception. In winter the snow-filled landscape and the beauty of the frozen lake. An incredible day !!!

John-Eric and Brandy Ludwig

So much to see. Lots of places to sit, rest or get food. Great train ride. They are doing lots to make things run smooth with all the covid19 precautions.

Nick Granger-Brown

Wow! There is so much to do here for children and adults a single day is not enough. It is a great place to explore the life of settlers in the late 18th and early 19th century. Ride on authentic fairground rides, a real steam train and visit the hotel, the schoolhouse, the church (or synagogue) and homes in many different styles. Many of the buildings are original and the rest are replicas carefully made and furnished. The park is full of explainers in period costume who will talk as long as you care to listen about the features of their spot and how it played a part in settler life. We only got to see about half of the site and would love to go again. We didn't get to the "settlement " this visit so certainly missed some important history. My one criticism is I would have liked to learn more about how the First Nations and non European settlers figured in "village". Apart from the Chinese laundry it was distinctly European. On a trivial note the Cafe ran out of milk for coffee about midday. How does that happen?!

Dasha Subach

Heritage park is amazing! We've been there for father's day. Spent all day there and didn't see all of it. I think it'll take two to three days to see a d experience all that this park has to offer. So much fun! Volunteers are amazing. They know their stuff and have so many interesting stories to share.

Julie Schmale

Definitely worth spending a day here! Our kids are ages 7-13 and so much of this they've read about in school, so to get to see it in real life is just awesome! Make sure you stop in at the candy store where you can pick your 10 cent candy just like in the good old days. Ride the Paddle Ship and the Steam Train. The amusement park there is old (of course) but fun! We had a blast here, both adults and children.

A Dawn

Heritage Park Historical Village. Here you will find lots of rare pre-1950s cars, old-timey gas pumps & vintage signage in the Gasoline Alley Museum.

Steven Schmale

This is a great place to experience history and have fun. Enjoyable for both kids and adults. Highly recommend!

Andy Dodsworth

Fun for the family. Boat, train and horse rides available in the park and also a handful of fun amusement rides for kids and adults alike. Wear comfy shoes as there's quite a bit of walking to cover the entire park.

Coyote 7890

The kids and I really enjoyed the day, with warm and friendly staff introducing the park and experiences for learning about history.

Jonathan H

It was closed. Even when Google maps said it was open. Moral of the story carefully check their website for opening hours, because they are quite limited.

Janine Moehrle

What not to love about this place?! It's an amazing way to spend the day with the family! It's so much fun! There's a street car that picks you up from the parking lot and takes you right at the door. It's way more than what I expected and glad we came to visit!

H S

This place is absolutely amazing. They have created the place for the sake of real experiences of Canadian history. Moreover, this place has something for everyone of all ages. I highly recommend for this one. Go and enjoy.

Acho N

Make sure that you go in the morning so you have enough time to dedicate on each exhibit and to also enjoy the steam train and boat rides. Very friendly staff, thanks for the amazing afternoon.

Norm Bennie

Had a very enjoyable time. The only challenge for some of us older folks, its a very long walk from the parking lot down to the village now. Really enjoyed the train and the bakery is awesome as always.

Danielle West

Went during stampede and it was perfect! My little guy had one of the play parks to himself and enjoyed the boat and the train ride. Such a great afternoon.

Sherri Vegso

This is a great park. Reasonable price which includes a train and boat ride. We spent 5 hours there and needed more time to see it all.

Annabell Amelia

This place holds so much awesome memories. I remember coming here for a school field trip a couple years ago an had the best time. They have extremely fun rides and very tasty food. I would 100% recommend coming here.

Alhan Yaz

Beautiful historical place. There are a couple stores that have a variety of souvenir type item as well as clothing and hair accessories, such as historical hats and cultural items too. There is a small Cafe and a really cool old car mesuem with an old gas station. Many people come here for walking or biking or to simply enjoy the breathtaking views of the water (and stunning sunsets). You will also see people kayaking, sailing, and just hanging out by the water. There are some free parking areas and paid parking as well. It's definitely a place for everyone in the family where you can also have a nice picnic, since there are benches (limited) too.

Lori Larson

Wonderful, exceptional, hospitable service! The photo gallery made our six year old friends birthday outstanding. Thank you!

Bi L

Heritage park historical village is a very cool living history museum, with lots to learn, see, and read about the Western Canadian settlement. There are 3 parts to this village (Historical Village, Gasoline Alley, and the Heritage Town Square). A perfect place for couples/friends and families alike! (Requires admission) In this outdoor Historical Village you can ride the steam train between areas of the village to learn about the fur trade, the First Nations, the explorers through Canada, and how people used to live back then with a working printing press, blacksmith shop, bakery, etc - all with costumed interpreters. You can interact with them and ask them questions as they’re all very knowledgeable about the particular exhibit they’re stationed in! This part is closed during the winter season. (Requires admission) Gasoline Alley is an automotive museum with lots of cool stuff! Vintage cars, neon signs, and all that jazz. Also has a fun little area for kids. They’re opened all year round with reduced rates in the winter! (Free admission) There is also a Heritage Town Square outside of the paid museum area, and there are lots of ships and cafes and park area to relax in. The perfect place to hang out after a whole day of walking.

Piotr Czurak

Nice and fun place, really friendly and helpful staff. Many diverse attractions to see and many interesting historical facts to learn. Really entertaining for both children and adults. An absolute must-see for anyone visiting Calgary!

Ken valcourt

Wow what a place to see. There's a vast landscape with lots of venues, sites and attractions. We spent lots of time exploring the historic buildings and riding the train which our little guy loves so much. Definitely recommend this place for families of all ages as well as for history buffs. Most of the displays have lots of historical information and there are volunteers who have great knowledge of their "department." We spent a whole day here with a 20 month old boy no problem.

Ted Nault

An amazing place where you actually go back in time you can see things as they were done back in the late 1800's early 1900's the staff are incredible, playing roles of the day while doing their jobs I don't know, too much to say just go ride the train the fairy the horse and carriage go to the fairgrounds just step back in time and relax and learn how it was back then I could go again and again.

Jade SB

I’ve visited this place three times and I still enjoy it. It is a living museum. I enjoyed the train ride and mini fair. I love entering each building and interacting with different type of characters. It’s like Disney Land but historic. I think there would be more activities and programs if the locals could support this place more. There's a lot of spots for great pictures. mine are not good example though because im not very creative ahahahhaa.

Kerri O

Honestly I was blown away by this place. The pictures I only show a teeny bit of what’s there and they don’t convey the atmosphere the effort the staff put in portraying their roles and the knowledge gained after a visit. Can’t wait to go back.

Alex B

Excellent location for a stroll through history lane. I will visit again. Plenty to do here and a very nice walk through the past. The buildings and houses are in tip top shape, and the museum was an extremely nice touch. Staff are friendly and dressed in era appropriate attire.

Lucas Métens

The gasoline alley is nice, a lot of beautiful antique cars. But they should have a largest variety of objets (like planes, objects other than cars,...) and more interactivity

JayJay- tripz

It's a good attraction. I kinda wish they would add more building to the town . Fun for kids and everyone at all ages. Love that the rides are not sold as tickets anymore... that was horrible lol. Yay

Katie Steckly

Lots to do. Historic town, working blacksmith, train, paddle boat, and amusement park. Also many places to eat and cute shops.

STM Billiards Installation & Repair Services

Large Western Canadian history museum with working antiques and seasonal re-creations with actors. Great place to spend a day with the family. Kids love the boat, train, and all the old buildings.

Road Bike Calgary

Me and my daughter really love the place.

Sherwin

Amazing! The closest place you can experience and feel the glorious past and the history of the big west and our great pioneers. Yours to discover!

Selina Clary

Okay, I am a convert now. Our tour group went to try out the coffee shop and lo and behold...they serve green tea with tapioca bubbles in a can! The staffers were dressed impeccably in historical costumes and masks and were fast, friendly and amazing. As for the bubble tea, it had the dark green taste of real matcha. ???? The straw didn't fit the size of the bubbles, but only some one in ❤ with a power engineer would notice ????. The candy shop was fun also, in my dreams I would have bought the leather ???? backpack and Popeyes candy cigarettes????????... $200 is how much that would have cost ..O Calgary!

Tom Yanota

Great way to spend a day at Heritage Park

Lara Henry

Beautiful place if you want to escape modern world and your daily routine, people who work there are nice and make it a good experience explaining things if you want to know more about things or the place.

Isabel Edwards

Great historical park, there is a car museum, an old town, a railway, a fort & an amusement fair. So much to see you do you could easily spend a whole day here. We loved it

ਰਸ਼ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਾਹਲ

It's a good place to visit and spend a good time in a historical way. You can take a train ride around a park which can help you to remember your old cool days. It's also have a rides for children's as well as adults which take to your childhood. I personally recommend you to go with your family or love one's.

Udayanthi Gunarathne

Great place to go with your children .. Enjoy ....

KC

It's really a place for families and friends. The live theatre on the street is fun to watch. The train ride always brings back the child in me, same goes for the rides in their amusement park area. Lots of places to eat. The cinnamon roll in the bakery is always good. It's a good place to eat, have a nice day out, and learn about a bit of history ????

Jeffrey Holeton

Thank you Heritage Park for the amazing day I was able to have there with two of my son's. They really enjoyed it and definitely want to come back. I was really impressed with how well the park is responsibly managing covid-19. The boys went on the Ferris Wheel and it was cleaned and each car was cleaned and sanitized quickly after each set of people left. Same thing riding the train. The hand rails were wiped down really quickly to make the ride enjoyable and safe. Not all of the buildings were open, but we got to see a decent amount of the park. The boys really liked Gasoline alley, my youngest took numerous pictures of the cars. I have quite of few pictures and many great memories from the day. Thanks Again Heritage Park Staff. Considering buying a seasons pass next year if things go back to normal.

Esi.K

This is an iconic place to visit in Calgary if you love history and new west culture. You should pay admission at the gate. There are seasonal rates. You can buy tickets online. Sometimes there are some online sale for specific events and dates. Parking is available but a parking fee is in effect at the park. Park Map will be distributed at the gate. You can spend the better part of a day at the park. Visit: A historical village with live performances, demonstrations and guided tours in character walking around or living in old houses and play pianos. The Auto museum, Gasoline Alley, has a large collection of classic cars and trucks, gas pumps, mechanical tools, engines etc. Shopping: You can experience the joy of old- fashioned candy, rare antiques and classic toys at the gift shops and stores. Rides: You can experience wagon ride, majestic carriages or sail on paddle wheeler and enjoy views of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Calgary from Glenmore Reservoir. You can also experience old style train ride with their funny and friendly conductors! Restaurant: There are a few places and restaurants inside the park and at the gate. You’ll find everything from home-style brunch to savory soups. I highly recommend visit this park.

Canada Guy

Great place for the whole family to enjoy. A nice train ride as well.

K mcc

I love history. I found myself comparing this to For Edmonton Park and found this- neither is better. Both off so much and are so different that they both offer a great learning and remembering experience. That being said, the car exhibit here is amazing and my hat is off to the people working here, their knowledge is incredible.

Lauren Cook

Heritage Park Historical Village is a recreation and learning centre that provides visitors with the opportunity to explore and understand life in Alberta during the 1900s. The park houses an assortment of buildings from various eras and cultures, including a church built in 1891. There are excellent opportunities for family fun such as hayrides, wagon rides, tours of homes, or fishing on the pond. Facilities also include a museum shop and restaurant offering locally sourced fare. It’s important to note that this is not an operational farm; there are no livestock or crops raised here.

Julio Gonzalez

I love this place! I really like museums and with a museum that makes you feel like you traveled back in time this just makes it even better! The people there really seem to enjoy what they were doing and it was really fascinating to learn about Canada's history.

Sean Sweeney

Lots to see and do. Great food at the hotel. The Moyie was calming. People all dressed in costume and are very friendly. Great spot for the whole family to spend the day.

Via Mawoyo

Such a fun day for our family. There's so much to learn here. You could spend the entire day at this park with your family. Was a wonderful time!

Heather McWhirter

Awesome place to visit. Great train ride and Paddle boat. We took our granddaughter and she had a great time.

David Baer

An excellent place for a family outing. Lots to see & do. A full size train ride, a paddle wheel boat cruise. Also many excellent venues to rent for special occasions. To be highly recommended.

S. Grun

Beautiful ! And the volunteers there do such a wonderful job. This place is beautiful and interesting . We also live their special events like ghouls night out a lot

Blair B

First time there but it is really well done. The old buildings, wooden sidewalks, vintage train, farm, old houses, staff in olden clothes and acting in character also. It was a fun experience. Gasoline alley with all the vintage vehicles was grrat also. Large grounds also so lots of walking too. Overall was really well done and worth a visit.

Christine Kang

Went for the first time today and so glad to have purchased the annual membership. So many things to do! Unlimited access to the train, paddlewheeler, horse drawn carriages, museums and more. All staff are super friendly and delightful. Will be coming here often this summer!

D Doucet

My family of 4 lived in Calgary for a year while I attended grad school and we spent at least a dozen weekends at Heritage Park. What an amazing place. Our 2 young kids (3 & 1) couldn’t get enough of the train, the animals, and all the fun activities at Gasoline Alley. The staff were incredible with the kids and it was definitely the highlight of our time in Calgary. I wish there was something similar in Greater Vancouver.

Derik Hayenga

What a treasure! It is hard to capture the attention of the young, old and inbetweeners simultaneously....but these folks have done it. I have never seen so many folks truly engaged at one venue. It is worth your time to visit.

Brian Tingley

We had great experience at Heritage Park. But when we had hot chocolate it was just chocolate colored hot water no taste.

Brian Crowder

The period actors are getting very well trained. They interact very well

Kelly Cassidy

Was really cool to experience. The classic cars were great and the classic steam train was really fun!

Travis Taylor

Staying safe, while traveling through the past indeed! The overall experience at the village still hits the mark, despite Covid-19 restrictions. This comes down to excellent management and incredible staff. The villagers were always in character, and very accommodating for families. Cleanliness measures have been taken, and social distancing restrictions are fully enforced. If you are looking for a great outing during the Covid-19 era that keeps you and your family safe.. this is an excellent excursion.

Justin Trupp

Excellent family friendly attraction with multiple activities. Boat and train rides; animals; rides; and Canadian history. Something for everyone.

heather jones

What a disappointing trip. No sleighs, no fires, no carolers, none of the blow up Christmas decorations. In fact if you didn't know, you wouldn't have known it was supposed to be Christmas in Heritage Park. Huge disappointment considering the $ paid out. Would actually DISCOURAGE anyone from going. Waste of time and money!!

Neil Cloke

Had an absolutely wonderful time at Heritage Park. Can't wait to come back again and explore even more.

Jason Grierson

Was fun, went for a ghost tour night which included a meal. The meal was fantastic and it's always nice to see/hear some history. Went at night so most of the shops were closes so can't really comment on those but they look interesting. Apparently the candy shop is very popular for kids and parents alike.

Hector Jabrica

Excellent day trip for families young and old to visit! All amenities are available and you can't beat the smell of fresh horse poop!

james udsen

We got a free pass from ATCO due to work done in our area. The pass was great. The park was very nice not that busy got into the hotel for lunch no problem. The boat was free so my wife went on as couldn't, she said it was very nice. The only problem is the park is not to wheelchair friendly hard to get into some of the stores and some couldn't. I new this was going to be an issue. The other problem is handicap washrooms. The only true wheelchair bathroom is in the hotel restaurant or gasoline alley. Gasoline alley is great a must see. Lots of handicapp parking. We had a good time despite the bumps in the road.

Jason Murray

I was very impressed, it was very cold and windy, but the staff were all smiles and directed is to warm areas. The theater was great and a big thank you to the actors! A very good show!

Brennda Naclia

Are you kidding me???? It costed us $55 dollars for what??? This place is so over run and washed up!!! When we first got there we wanted to go on a certain ride, it was closed. The lady that was on the ride previously, fell out of the ride, and it was closed down....Went to the bakery, NO AIRCONDITIONING, stood in line forever in the heat to recieve a dried out sausage roll, and 3 ROCK HARD cinnamon buns, thento get a $40. dollar parking ticket!!!! NOT COOL......save your money!!!!

Carol Price

I'm not a huge fan of tourist destinations but was visiting Calgary to see my 5 year old grandchild so if course went along for the fun. If you live in Calgary and whether you have children or not this is a must. My daughter decided to apply what she paid for 4 of us that day to a yearly pass as we were leaving. So worth it! It's pricey but once you get inside everything except food is free. In summer bring a picnic as the selection of grab and go food isn't great. They do have some dine-in restaurants but we thought too much time would be wasted with a 5 year old. The small midway is delightful with 100 year old rides with fantastic story boards. After spending 4+ hours there I was ready to go back the next day to explore more. Well done Heritage Park!

Naz A

Don't miss your chance to visit heritage park! The admission is a little pricey but EVERYTHING is included: horse drawn wagon rides, boat cruise, train, and midway! They also have a bakery (enjoy 50%off previous day's baked goods), candy store and ice cream parlour. Arrive early as the place is HUGE and there is lots.to see and do. The only drawback is that you cannot take your stroller on the train. You have to park it at the station once you get on the train. The train makes stops throughout the park saving you from walking but since you cannot take your stroller it's hard to control your child and take all your baby supplies (diaper bag etc). They should really find a way to allow strollers, would make it soo much easier for families and we could enjoy it better!

Vitaliy S

Amazing place, you need to plan to spend at least 8 hours there to see everything quickly.

c lon

We went for day out with Thomas and it's such a neat place to see. The bakery is a must stop as their bread is delicious. The old fashioned candy store has some pretty awesome candies. The buildings are very cool and the park is well kept. They also have some free kiddie rides my son loved.

Chelsea Lu

We love the gasoline alley museum. Make sure you check their schedule before you come. Some area of the park doesn’t open everyday. There’re some stores were closed in the village, not sure if it’s because of the COVID. The park is big, and we spent almost 2.5 hrs there.

tasneem progressive

Friendly staff, amazing heritage display in crafts and people all dressed Traditional. Butter tart was 7 stars delicious. Peaceful and learning tourist experience. Best compliments for heritage park in Calgary.

FLEDA V

A great place to enjoy with the family, especially if you got small kids. There is a steamboat ride that you can have (open on selective dates) a steam train, some carnival rides like ferris wheel, caterpillar, merry-go-round and an old-style bump cars, there's a lot of stores to look at, that sometimes they have "scences" to watch for like in a theater. There's even farm animals that you can pet and horses on carriage to ride on and everything is on a theme! Sometimes for a bonus you can watch a featured artist at work! For our part prices around is ????????????, still it outweighs the happiness and vibe we got from this experience. Hope to be back soon!

Chris Stubbs

Always a great time to be had here. With live shows, great stores, best hot chocolate ever, and something for everyone. Great family day out

Meli

Just went once to visit the park, it's a very nice park with all the buildings and stuff, the people are very motivated. But I have to say english isn't my first language and it's a large park so I'll definitely go a second time.(I can't wait for it :))

Scott Graham

I've been coming here every summer for 30 years since I was born. Great place to bring the family and spend an easy 4hrs or more. Have a picnic, learn about historical Calgary and the surrounding areas, ride some old amusement rides or better yet ride the train or the steam boat! Every exhibit is a living museum and it is a fun way to learn. I wish they had more First Nations exhibits or areas to check out that were not dependant on having guides there at certain times of the day or week. Also unfortunately prices keep going up with it currently being $30 for an adult ticket which it was $20 5 years ago. I mean I understand that it takes a lot to keep things running and in good shape so I will pay it every year, but young families might struggle unless they get the yearly family pass (highly suggest). It can be a 2 time visit a year kind of place just as popular as the zoo! So go check it out!!!

Don

Our family has season passes so we go here often. Had a wonderful 3 hour visit on this last weekend of the season.

Bob Lee

Have a very fun day with my granddaughter's first visit. Used to visit there almost every second weekend with my kids during summer and now is my granddaughter. Staffs always friendly with smile. Park is clean and well maintained. Have lunch at wainwright hotel and the food is always great with good price and portion. Of course, staffs always friendly here.

Lord Mac

We love this place...the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely come back!

Waqas Nawaz

Amazing place for both adults and kids. All staff members are very passionate about the sections they are representing and are eager to share information. Heaven for people who love classic /historic things.

Chantelle Bic

I want to say good things but the price point is so high that I can’t justify spending that much and parking is also very high on top of the fees to enter park. It’s a beautiful park but I wish they had discounts for people who are from Calgary as it’s to much to go for one day.

DS K

Always enjoy my time here. They have a nice little coffee shop and restaurant you can access with out going in or paying the park fee. Never had a bad meal at the Selkirk Grill.

Pattie

It was incredible. Something for all ages. Entrance Price inclusive of steam train, horse and carriage, boat ride. I would go again

Darren Findlay

Amazing place, with wonderful interpreters . Beautiful site and such an impressive and an abundant array of cool things to see and do. You can take a paddle wheeler and a train at no extra cost. It’s a cool place.

Steven Edwards

This is a fab place. We had great fun. The food was fab and the rides are great fun even at our age. We could have happily spent hours more here. Leave a day for this place. Had such a good day. Wander through the streets enjoying the sights.

antony cook

I have given five stars but this place is worth more. What a lovely end to our holiday. The entrance fee may sound on the high side but everything is included, which is brilliant. The food, ice cream and drinks were sold at a very low price and for a change they didnt take advantage of the customers. Some of the staff are volunteers, and every single one made our visit a beautiful one. What a brilliant day out and I cannot recommend this place enough.

YYC Turtle

Nice little place to visit maybe once but definitely not worth going back. The gasoline museum was okay, nothing to exciting to see, and not informative either. The park itself was some half decent things to see and experienced however it could use a lot more work. The midway rides will keep the little ones occupied for a couple of hours depending the how busy it is,however the food options very limited. I would highly recommend packing for a picnic. VERY OVER PRICED for what you get.

Juli Flemming

The best $200 spent for us as a family when buying the escape pass. Everytime we go there is something new to discover. We love our visits!

dominique marie

So much fun, so cool. It's alot of walking but it's amazing. There's a train ride, amusement park rides, a ferry. Lots of old amazing stuff

DENISE FERGUSON

Great place! Had a fun day so much to see and do....my grandson love it and had to make a stop at the bakery and lunch at the hotel was fantastic ????

Dave Glendon

The Bison Transport Christmas lights were awesome. They had warming fire's all around, activities for the families, the hotel was open and most importantly the bakery had fresh baked Nummy bread products!!!! ???? ???? I Love shortbread cookies HOHOHO Happy and Healthy New Year :-)

Capt Max

If someone is in calgary specially on tour, this is a place never never to miss. A mesmeriszing and captivating place you would not wan to leave. You can read the details of park on website regarding its theme which is based on "how it calgary was build". The real startup. An awesome little village with a throwback to the beginning of Canada. Also enjoyed the play that occured throughout the grounds - pretty funny!

This park contains four separate villages, each from a different time period. Buildings were either moved here or re-creations of originals. The steam train is a great way to get from one area to another. Be sure to stop by the bakery for an oversized warm cinnamon bun or any of the cookies.

OMG... I have lived in Calgary for over 20 years and I cannot believe I waited that long to visit Heritage Park. We visited on a weekday and it was very smoky from forest fires so it was not very busy, however the parking lot is huge so I imagine it can get very busy. You WILL need the entire day to experience the park, but you will not be disappointed! There is a real steam train operating around the park to hitch a ride on, employees are dressed in period clothing and many of the places you visit within the park are operational, so between the sights, sounds and smells you truly feel like you have stepped back in time! Amazing experience. I will return again in the future to experience the new natural resources part of the park as well as the steam boat that will be operational again next summer!

Disneyland for history buffs. Always a great time from cars, trains, steamboat, mansions, amusement park rides and amazing food! The list goes on and on we visit yearly and always find something new????

Great for family to spend the whole day. Kids like the games in amusement park. Get a ride on the train bring back memory too.

It was a good place to spend the day with the family. Really historic and interesting for young and old. We all loved it and had a great time

We had our wedding here exactly a year ago. I highly recommend it. Our wedding coordinator, Jennifer was amazing. she was so organized and quick to respond. She tried to be accommodating to her best ability, but heritage had strict guidelines. Price is super reasonable, and the staff and food were all amazing!! When i spoke to my guests they all had a great night!! Thank you for giving us such fond memories for our big day =)

We had a great time there today . Too bad we couldn't go on the pattle boat . The city is doing repairs to the water area. It will be ready for next summer. No problem. The volunteers were friendly. The grounds were clean and wonderful. The weather was perfect. We will visit again next year when we come back to Calgary. Thank you for a great day . ????????

Great day out and very informative really shows what it used to be like

Not all the buildings were open but there was a lot to see no matter what. Disappointed in the Wainwright Hotel as there were tables available but were not cleaned and therefore we couldn't be sested for 30 minutes or more. A problem that seemed like a staffing issue.

So much fun.the entrance looked expensive but it really worth it . Dress code were wonderful and all people were friendly.train was fun and actually help you to see the park faster. Casting was great. Food and drink were priced good. The gasoline ally was 100% gorgeous.such a nice collection.

Such a great experience, all the attractions the train ride and the boat ride we’re fantastic. The restaurant in the old hotel was also great, the staff and server were all incredibly friendly knowledgeable and nice. Also amazed by the level of detail in the entire park, truly takes you to another time.

This place is definitely worth a visit. There is an auto museum, historical village and amusement park all in one place. The amusement park is small but the lines weren't long and our kids loved them. The auto museum has a large collection of beautiful automobiles as well as gas pumps, signs, engines and other memorabilia. The historical village has several buildings that can be viewed many of which have staff dressed in period correct clothing functioning as they would have during the era. There are also several shops and a few restaurants and a cafe. You can easily spend the better part of a day here.

Great spot !!highly recommended ????

The printing shop was especially infornative. The horse carriages, the train cars, the steam train, and old motor cars were interesting as well

Yu Liu

The people and everything is nice, I have no quarrel with the facility. However, how it's operated right now during Covid, it's just really hard to get your money worth out of the experience. The train takes only 15 people per cart, so …

Heritage park is a fantastic must visit place in Calgary. The exhibits are fantastic glimpse into how early Calgarians and Albertans lived their lives. the park staff are friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and very professional. Highly recommend as a day trip as there is a lot to see and interact with. Excellent experience the whole family can enjoy.

Lily Simioli

It was alot of fun. Took my granddaughter. However that heat wave was too much but we enjoyed the day anyhow. Lots to see and friendly staff!

Sarah Elford

We go here every year on christmas eve and watch the live nativity pageant hat is put on. It was chilly but the company and atmosphere was great. Friendly people and familiar faces each year are what bring us back!

Blaine Prentice

Great day out for the whole family. Lots to do with carnival, train, paddle boat rides all included. Free entertainment with acted out story lines with guided tours. Highly recommend if you enjoy canadian history or vintage collectibles.

We had the best time tonight with the Ghosts and Gourmet tour! The food was delicous and Zak did an amazing job! We also had a really weird experience at the Prince house... This was a bucket list thing for a long time and it did not disappoint! Thank you to all the staff for making this evening awesome!

This is a great place to take family. Our grandson loved it and the old train ride was a highlight. If your looking for a place to spend with family put this in your top 10.

It is a must visit place for anyone who lives in Calgary or even visiting. Steam engine to SS Moyie (ship) ride it's full of fun. Although it's a well maintained museum but it's also an amusement park. Take your kids there get to know the history in a fun way. Lots and lots of activities everyday. Have something for every age group. A great place for picnic.

adrianna bern

Nice place to learn the history of calgary. Well maintained place. Staff are so accommodating. It's like you time travelled to the 1930s.

corporate &chic

Awesome! An absolute must see. I had such an awesome experience. You need to love history though

Sandy Hand

Had dinner and went on a ghost walk at night, cool

Steve May

A great place to visit well in Calgary. Travel back in time. Lots for kids to do.

M Kaukab

Per my standard, it's the most entertaining place in Calgary, whether you live in Calgary or you are on a tourist. So much to see and explore that full day will be hardly enough. Historical sites, seeing old equipment working, kids educational activities like wood craft, horse cart ride, children amusement park, boat ride and versus dollars spent makes it's most economical place to visit. Please keep in mind to thank the silent and invisible heroes, the volunteer force helping there. One thing which might be considered by management is adding a stone, water or wind mill and selling stone ground flour, old fashioned candies and sweets etc, some commercial activities to make the project sustainable.

I love coming to Heritage Park for the Live Nativity Pageant. I come every year with my family on Christmas Eve. This tradition really brings the Christmas spirit to my family during the holiday. We love to get all cozy on the benches with several blankets. It is cold and right by the water so it is important to dress very warm. The Nativity only lasts about 15 min and it is free! It is put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as a service to the community. They are not pushy with their religious views. There are provided outhouses. They have live animals that you can take your pictures with and pet as well. The event usually lasts about a week.

Its a perfect place to visit. You'll learn about Canadian history. There's a lot of houses and places from the 18 hundreds and the 19 hundreds refurbished where you'll see how people use to live. You need a ticket to get in. It's a place to spend almost all day!

Kyle Carter

went during the quilt show, what an amazing time, take the paddle boat tour for sure!

Micaela Dawn

Heritage park is an excellent place to venture in a weekend if you are looking for something fun to do and are up for walking. There are lots of staff who are happy to answer questions but some of them can be a little brisk and rude. When we were in one of the reportedly Haunted Houses and asked about it, the staff member briskly told us that she didn’t believe in ghosts and wouldn’t talk about them. Frustrating, since part of the experience is the stories about the buildings. There is also a very cool car museum that (surprisingly) has two floors. But it was almost impossible to know about the basement gallery due to lack of signage. Most of the outside is accessible, but the interior of the buildings are all antiques so they are understandably difficult to traverse with mobility devices.

carmen gonda

Wonderful place would go back every year

Taniya Perera

This a great place for a family or a group with kids to enjoy . It is suitable for adults too but has more activities for kids. It has presented the Canadian history very nicely . This is a large place which takes the entire day to cover. I recommend everyone to go early . Make sure you note down the train and ferry schedule . Recommend to complete train and ferry tours first and explore rest. Or during the later of the day there could be rushing.

Joe Espinosa

For just $29 that includes access to all the rides including boat cruise and train ride, it's very reasonable. Great place for families especially those ones with kids to hang out. Huge parking lot would accommodate lots of visitors

Svitlana Solonina

Beautiful place to find something new about Canada and its residents. It is so exiting place. Highly recommend.

Tim Kress

Took the train ride around the park tk the ferry ride. Kids loved it. Wife and I had a great time at the midway.

Robert Parr

An interesting walk back in time and great place to take the kids with lots of educational things for them to do. Great value for money.
