REVIEWS OF Fish Creek Provincial Park IN Alberta

Tyler Zeck

The beauty of nature in your backyard. What could be better?

Marco Correa

That’s the best place to ride a bicycle!????????

MindofRiches

The joy of nature, right in the city. Almost too close, the animals are no longer afraid of people so I fear for their safety. Great trails by the river and awesome recreational area for families and bike riders. Enjoy your Calgary.

America Libertad

Is it always the creek water so low?, no flowers around? ... . and please pick up your garbage.

Kevin W

Amazing trails here, crazy to think this stretch of park is inside Calgary.

Joel Weder

Beautiful park for walking, bike riding or just ice cream at Annie's. Very busy today but Annie's was doing well at keeping people spread out.

Guy Plecash

Scenic spot on warmer days. Not recommended for a long walk in -28C. Not for humans anyway. Doesn't seem to bother the wildlife much though..

Andrew Lau

Beautiful pocket of nature in the city. You can spend a whole day exploring here and see all sorts of wildlife, then grab and ice cream or meal at the Bow Valley Ranche.

K S

This review is on the Fish creek park - Woodbine area entrance. Beautiful walk, you get to see and enjoy the river. Lots of birds and nature. Be aware of cyclists speeding, always give enough space for them and watch your children. Also, a few old and young individuals running in the path are extremely rude and will say things being if your child is on the way. This is a shared commonplace people, show respect and receive some back. The couple of times I have been there, my friend and I have noticed how rude and grumpy people are if you are just walking there. specially some runners. This is a perfect area for a nice walk.

Sam So

Nice place to have family bike outing

Aminul Haque

Large natural preserve bisecting the city; many paved and unpaved trails for running, walking and biking. Adequate facilities every few kilometers. Many water streams running to and from the creek. Lots of birds and some wildlife. Beautiful nature area within city limits.

Joseph PM

Awesome parks for places to enjoy by yourself. Not many people come so having some privacy is attractive. The park is huge and it’s hard to explore it all in one day. Definitely a place to go many times to really get to know it.

Sebastian Lopez

Beautiful location for a morning walk. Recommend.

Tamye Moisan

Wonderful place. Beautiful and peaceful. Shannon terrace has an amazing learning centre which creates a wonderful environment for anybody to learn.. Kids truly loved it and wouldn't stop looking for things and being amazed. School trip or even just on your own it is fun and special

Mark Crosby

It is great having a big park that is easy to get to. There are nice paved paths for a relaxing walk, run, or bike ride. For a little more aventure there are tons of trails weaving through the trees and open areas. The kids like playing in the creek, especially on hot days.

Dave Pethers

Justyna Stachowicz

Nice park with bike paths.

Darcy Funk

Beautiful large park with a number of attractions from Sikome Lake, Swim Centre, boat launch, miles of bike trails, Bow Valley Ranche restaurant, ice cream vendor and wildlife.

Sanja Simpson

Lots of wonderful hiking trails and generally a really nice place to visit on any day.

Jane Humble

Lots of walking/biking paths through golden yellow trees and along the creek. Nice to see school classes taking place outdoors in the park. Great art installations. Can't wait to return to dine here.

Couleehiker

It's a beautiful park in it whole entirety or even just in its individual areas. However I don't agree with the management of the park. Many facilities & parking areas are gated and closed so early. Many times I've gone to use the washrooms a full hour prior to the posted lock up times and they are already locked. It's a public park and the hours should be expanded. I do understand their rational for locking the facilities early, but if vandalism is a problem. The solution isn't to punish everyone by closing things up early. It's more patrols and enforcement.

Owen Peters

This was a nice quiet day when we were scared it was going to be ruined by all the crowds we saw upon arrival to the park , but we explored and found this spot deeper into the park.

Ryan Sather

Depending on the entrance you park at, by Sikomi Lake (which is fenced and closed for Winter Months). There are walking trails, and off those paths are creek beds, logs, sticks and gathering entertainment (sticks, logs, branches) when the weather is nice.

Andrew S

Always a great inner city getaway, just be respectful of the park and animals in it

Dave Cooke

Always a treat to go down to the river. Right now you can hear the water rushing over the rocks which is such a soothing sound

Mathew Young

Huge park with lots of hiking and biking trails. Many access points, but my favorite areas are along the west side (Shannon Terrace, Bebo's Grove, Voitier's Flats). If you're on the east side, check out Annie's cafe for coffee, baked goods, and a fantastic sitting area. East side runs along the bow and has some good swim spots. Saw a great horned owl chick near the visitor centre here in early June. West side has more conifer trees and, if you're lucky, occasionally is visited by moose and even the odd black bear or cougar.

Carrie Hyatt

Beautiful pathway. Beautiful bike or walk way family and pet friendly many options for entry to the park has a visitor center for information about the park. Many things to do along the way

Devin Baillie

Kids had a lot of fun playing in the water. Only complaint is that the PA system can't be heard from some parts of the lake. After kicking everyone out of the water to try to find a lost kid, we couldn't hear when it was safe to go back in again.

Darryl Rose

I totally love this park. It's very spacious and the bike paths are awesome but the best part of the park is people from infants to 100 get enjoyment there.

Jai Buck

I have been to several different locations in the park. Each of them was completely unique. Some paths are paved and shared paths with bikes are the norm.

Lady Bee

Amazing bike and jogging trail. So many areas to explore. Just use GPS so you won't get lost.???? There's also a restaurant and ice cream store in the middle.

Bruce Powell

Great place for a picnic. Fire pits and tables available. Nice place for a relaxing walk.

Shihabul Ahashan

It's a beautiful park. You can walk through river bank which is amazing.

RAW Energetics

A beautiful nature space. Take a walk very near and in the city that feels like you are out in the wilderness. Stroll along the creek side and explore forested areas that are stunning without having to travel great distances to get there.

Jonabelle Sanchez Defensor - Mommy's World

A great place for family bonding! From walking, biking, picnic and family pictorial!

Radu Luchian

Great for walking, cycling, day camping, picnics, dates. Very varied terrain, a few short MTB trails, the ones on the west side are grippier and better maintained.

Connie Chau

Beautiful and Peaceful. Grateful to have a place right in the city; which is Tranquil and so close. A must and highly recommend it. Great for walking exercise and all ages are welcome.

D Obvious

Peaceful trails, occasionally a few pockets of people but for the most part you'll have plenty of space and quiet.

Mila Shchehlova

fa fa

Beautiful natural area park. I always see wildlife wandering the park. Lots of parking areas, picnic tables, benches, bike paths and washrooms through out. Come check it out but please take out everything you bring into the park. It's only polite.

Ryan Sowtis

One of Calgary’s hidden gems! Fish Creek Provincial Park is a fantastic spot to go for a walk or to play along the River. The park is huge and it’s easy to forget you’re in the middle of the city. I’ve walked my dog here many times and I love it! I would definitely recommend Fish Creek Provincial Park to anyone looking for an escape from the city without driving too far.

Marcos Vinícius Miguel de Miranda

Is an awesome park. Great infrastructure. Lots of pathways and trails. Could have more water fountains.

Connor

Tons of park areas to explore. Well maintained paths and plenty of wildlife to see!

Matt Burns

Such a great place to take the family. Lots of trails and sights to see.

Deanna Michele Desramaux

lots of different waterfowl to see. the Flickers were carving out a hole in the tree for their home, 3 pair all in the trees calling and flitting about.

Ashley Foster

Lovely place to explore with friends, family, or significant other. The park really takes you out of the city and makes you feel like you are in the mountains. Whether you want to go here for a hike, quick lunch by the river, or stroll through the trees, it's a place for everyone. You might also spot some wildlife

H Gullen

Lots of bike paths, as well as some great scenery as in some parts on a clear day, you can get a great view of the mountains. It's my favourite place to cycle!

Jenn Barge

We are lucky in Calgary to have a wonderful park like this to enjoy. Great to see walkers, runners, bikers, and families all out enjoying the area. We especially enjoyed watching the birds.

Rob Vrecic

Fantastic park right in the city of Calgary. Great walk along the ridge, lots of greenery, and if you are lucky you might see a few deer. If you want to feel as if you left the city, come to Fish Creek!

Jonathan Chin

Love coming here to play Pokemon go. Clean and great place to get some fresh air. Often see deer and other wildlife. Great place to socially distance and what not. It's in the city so there is no reason not to come.

Officer Linguine

Nice area to visit, has a bakery/ice cream parlor and a secret swimming hole that is up to 10ft deep at some areas. All in all a great place to go on a hot summer day. (Edited some grammar issues.)

Kimberley Karpenko

Excellent bike pathways throughout the park. The park has a number of day use sites, a casual restaurant and a more formal restaurant at Bow Valley Ranche. A great oasis within the city. Can often see different wildlife including a variety of birds and deer.

Anastasia Romanova

I really enjoyed walking around the park with a friend. Beautiful natural area.

Aliona Cebotari

A beautiful park any season of the year! Many trails with different length and difficulty, good for pedestrian and city or trail biking. Love walking through the park!

Go AA1

KupTin Ch

Beautiful as always. The park is clean and trails are well maintained. Highly recommend.

Dragan Ivancevic

Autumn is my favourite season in FCP.

Dez Lee

A beautiful place for a hike or still. The scenery is fantastic, especially in autumn. The pathways are well maintained and there is ample parking. There is also a swimming hole that's great!

GI WON PARK

Absolutely gorgeous park!! Great place to bike on offroads

reza pp

Some of the best trails in the city are here. Beautifure landscape across the river

Jim Wilde

Great park area to go cycling, walking, or just hang out with family. Loved watching the hawks yesterday.

Barrett Seggewiss

A massive provincial park with in city limits. Big and vast enough to feel outside of the city. If you haven't utilized or explored it, you're missing out. Walk, hike, bike. Off trails, paved, shale, Bbq pits. West end fish creek is a treat.

Lindsey Kologie

Best place to spend the day with family and friends. We walk our dogs there daily. The paths are less maintained than they used go be. It is disappointing that they put all the playgrounds behind the fences and you have to pay to use them or my little one can't stop at the play ground when we are walking put dogs. The changes that they are making are definately disappointing. I hope they make it more family friendly and better maintained so I can continue to walk my dogs there

Marina Schmidt

Amazing place to walk or bike around. Anne's ice cream is still in the park serving amazing ice cream.

Steve Starenky

One of the largest parks in Canada, and we're so fortunate to have it. There are birds as far as the eye can see (we saw 2 owls today), and there is so much space that it never feels crowded. All in all, a definite must see for anyone who enjoys a peaceful outdoor experience without having to leave the city.

Vicky Canete

This park is kind of the best thing ever. Spanning a massive chunk if the southern half of the city, Fish Creek is a great place to bring your kids, your dogs, and of course yourself! With dozens upon dozens of picnic spots and bbq zones, and as much nature as you could hope for, this is a great place to spend your time. And yes, there are washrooms. I love this place.

Clarissa Hwang

Past 50 years we have been living near the park.We love all year round park.

Andrew Robinson

I love this park. Great place to have a gathering with fire pits and picnic tables. Easily accommodates a party of 10 or more with one fire pit

Stacey Lynn

Absolutely beautiful way to spend the day. I attended a wedding at Bow Valley Ranch in Fish Creek, and it was so amazing. If you just want to connect with nature, or have a magnificent lunch or dinner, head to Fish Creek Park.

Zenan Gro

While the park itself is quite nice, there are some parts that are washed away that are currently being fixed. This wouldn't be an issue at all, if the workers decided to put their construction ahead signs where the paths split, so you could take the detour required to pass through. The issue is that the workers have out the detour sign almost 2Km into the path, forcing you to turn back after adding 4km to your trip. So this is not a negative review in the park itself which is great, but the workers currently working to fix the broken parts of the paths.

Cathie Dunklee-Donnell

Beautiful experience with a lot of bird sightings. Then we had drinks at the Bow Valley Ranch which was lovely too.

Victor O'Connor

A beautiful park in South Calgary

David Falldien

Winter bike rides are great here. Rolling, some solid hills and great downs. All moderate incline which makes foe great winter biking. :)

Claus Thiim

Certainly one of Calgary’s best parks, offering a quick escape to nature.

Aliece Robert

Fish creek park has beautiful, well maintained trails that are accessible for to various mobility levels. If visiting near dusk you can expect to see wildlife out and about.

G Hdez

Mainly flat ride with a few hills. All paved nice and lots of signs to follow your path. Great choice for rides longer than 2 or 3 hours

B Hicks

Whether it is walking, cycling, mountain biking, picnicking with or without wood bbq, birthday parties, (insert outdoor activity here), Fish Creek park provides in abundance! Calgary is absolutely blessed to have this wonderful outdoor space to share.

Randall Warner

Fish Creek Provincial Park is a beautiful park located in the city of Calgary. There are lots if scenic trails for cycling, walking and horseback riding as well as Sikomi lake and beach. There's great fishing in the Bow River along with a boat launch and plenty of parking for vehicles and boat trailers. The picnic sites are well looked after and clean. I live 5 minutes away and visit the park often. In much of the park you hardly know your in the city. I have been visiting the park for almost 30 years, and highly recommend it for hiking, biking, birding fishing, picnics, the beach and the interpretive programs. A restful and beautiful location.

Michael Wang

Very nice park to go for a bike ride. Many trails to get lost on. Be weary of getting there on the bike paths as some of the pathways are flooded (though you can skittles around the edges to get past). If riding through the puddle your feet will probably get a little wet.

samantha turcott

Beautiful peaceful and super clean park, I took some autumn photos I loved it, is also a great place to excercise, I am coming back with friends and family, I am so happy I found this place

Phil F

Beautiful, big provincial park within city. Great bike paths and easy walking trails. Perfect for exploring and observing nature. The Ranch and Annie's are a good spot for upscale and snack options respectively

Robert Eaton

Yes I’m rating a park... Fish Creek is an amazing place to visit. We go biking down there, picnics, and walks. It’s a great escape from the city without going out of town. I’ve been visiting it since childhood. If you don’t use fish creek park, I recommend you do!

integrate income

A very wonderful place to walk, jog and fishing

Silvio Filice

Beautiful park to spend the day, very nice trails that are well maintained and clean. Amazing to have such a nice green space right in the city.

Jamie Serafi

Beautiful piece of heaven in South Calgary!

Candice

We had the opportunity as a family to go down for a small picnic, and to hang out there for the day. This park is very beautiful, and kept clean. It is one of the most beautiful parks I've visited since living in Calgary. I will be returning for future photo shoots!

Elliot E

Huge and amazing park. I've spent many many days biking through the expansive paths and trails. Also has great places for campfires. It's hard to express how much I love this park.

Agape Akinniyi

The beach was clean!! We had so much fun. There were lots of people but it didn't feel crowded as the beach is wide enough. Had 3 playgrounds on it and 2 changing facilities and ample parking as well. We loved our experience here today

elliesteeez

Great location for wedding shoots and photoshoots! Love going for walks here as you'll see a lot of people bird watching during spring and summer. Recommend coming here to de-stress!

R H

Beautiful Large park within the Calgary city limits. It is clean, well patrolled and well maintained, with a focus on remaining natural and allowing nature to take its course. There are several different entrances to the park. With lots of free parking in paved parking-lots. Shelters are available for rent or reservation but also can be used without prior notice if they are available. Fire pits and picnic tables are available in some areas of the park. There is a variety of habitats here (from forest to plains to river). There are plenty of biking and walking paths/trails (some paved some gravel and some are dirt). In the summer months there is a fenced in lake with change rooms, concession and sandy beaches, that is well staffed with well trained lifeguards. Entrance to the lake is monitored and an entrance fee is charged per person (family rates also available). There is also an education centre and an information centre in different areas of the park, as well as old ranch buildings that have been converted into a restaurant and ice cream shop. The ranch is available for Wedding bookings and also features a large garden to wander through. The garden has a 'poet tree' with a 'little free library' for book exchange. There are bathrooms throughout the park with flush toilets and running water. This park is a pleasant 'day use' get away, right in the city. Because it's down in a valley you can almost forget you are in the city at all. The creek/river itself winds through the park and is shallow in most places. Several bridges criss cross over the creek where it is wider. Wildlife do live in the park including deer, beavers, birds, gophers ect. I would consider this a safe park.

Bryanne Hill

Used to live up the hill and loved coming for morning bike rides and evening walks. Finally had the opportunity to bring my kids and they loved it too. Great for all kinds of fun.

Sean Lundy

Excellent place to go for a walk. There are many paths that branch all over the park. You can walk out in the sun or stay in the shade based on preference. Lots of people walking dogs so it can be great for socializing your pupper. Also plenty of paved bike paths that are great for roller skates/blades

T Y

Great day out Lots of Sand. Cold Lake. Plus 30 degrees Perfect amount of wind. Enjoy!

Leah Cargo

I love this place! The autumn feel is here already! So many instagrammable spots.

Eric Blair

Beautiful nature walk in the heart of the city.

Greg P

It's a nice place to hike, but I was disturbed by the artificiality and the lack of biodiversity there. Where hundreds of native species once lived, they have been replaced by a handful of trees, herbs and grasses. Where majestic cottonwoods once grew, they have been replaced with black poplar, which are mostly dying because they are not in their natural habitat. Very few willows are there, only wolf willow and a few very rare Bebb willows. Songbirds are almost absent, probably because there's not enough biodiversity to support them. Overall a disappointing experience.

Mark Roberts

Great place to take the family. Lots of paved and unpaved paths to explore. Large park with lots of parking. There are several different parking lots that allow access to the park. There are numerous picnic areas available too. Great location for photography, with options for nature photography as well as taking portraits.

Corinne Christie

We saw lots of geese and ducks the beautiful sunny day that we went. The trails aren't too badly shaded which keeps the icy patches to a minimum. There's a posted sign that said coyotes in area but I've not personally seen them.

Miss Kelicious

Always love this huge park. This last time, we walked along the river and it was beautiful! Nice paths, well kept as far as trash, etc and as long as you don't mind the mosquitos it's a great place for sunsets

zamacity61

One of my favourite parks in Calgary, I've been going there for 30 plus years. Every visit brings something new... saw a bald eagle recently, late evening, watching the river from its roost on a tree branch. Lots of different places to go, various access points via foot, car, bike and whatever other legal locomotion you use. I highly recommend Bankside or Shannon Terrace.

dark tron

Love taking the dog and also biking down always have fun

Mark Coates

More designated firepits please, since covid and even before on busy days it is insanely difficult to find a place with an actual firepit and as things dry out its not really going to be an option to just burn in the open. Otherwise it's a beautiful spot to walk and bike and do family stuff.

John Gordon

You'll feel many miles away from the city in this park. Plenty of walking paths, hiking trails, bbq pits, and especially cycling trails whether you choose the sunny and hot east of macleod TR side or the Rocky rooty forested west side. There's even a few swimming locations that appear no less appealing than many a Norman Rockwell painting. A few tips to help everyone enjoy the park to it's utmost.. dogs have to be leashed, cyclists need to stick to marked cycling trails (there's tons to choose from), and walkers should move to right when cyclists approach so there's room to pass. Oh and a great treat awaits on the far East side of the park- Annie's bakery has pies, cookies, cakes, ice cream, beer, and wine. On the west side you can jaunt up the hill for pizza, a pub, or other quick eats. It's easy to spend morning to night in this park.

Alex Xavier

So fortunate to have this piece of nature in our city!

Kim Madison

Great location for a picnic and walk. Don’t forget to take your kids. This place is awesome for them. It is good to walk in the park after working hours. It remains calm and peaceful.

Michelle klassen

Nice area for walks.

Ngo Hai Anh

Fish Creek Park is a provincial park that preserves the valley of Fish Creek in the southern part of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is bordered on three sides by the city, and on the west by the territory of the Tsuu T’ina Nation (Sarcee), a First Nation. Much of the park remains in a natural, forested state. Fish Creek flows throughout its length, joining the Bow River on the east side of the park, and there is an artificial lake that offers swimming. With more than 100 kilometres (62 mi) of paved and unpaved trails, the park is a popular area for hiking and biking, as well as for picnicking, swimming, fishing, and observing wildlife. Fish Creek Park is the second largest urban park in Canada after Rouge National Urban Park in the Greater Toronto Area, and followed by Pippy Park in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It is also one of the largest urban parks in North America, stretching 19 km (12 mi) from east to west. With an area of 13.48 km2 (5.20 sq mi), it is more than three times the size of Vancouver's Stanley Park. Facilities at the park include a visitor centre, an environmental learning centre, picnic shelters, group day-use areas, a restaurant, concession stands, the Sikome Lake Aquatic Centre, a boat launch at the Bow River, and the Mackenzie Meadows Golf Course.

Russell Lattin

With everything that's going on at the moment it was a great place to take the grandkids

Erich Dyck

Beautiful old forest. Great trails for walking, biking, snow shoeing cross country skiing. Fire pits when allowed. Great for birding in the spring.

Dr. Marco Navarro-Genie

Nice area of the park to go for a walk, run or bike ride.

Colin Omilusik

Good place for a peaceful walk. Was not too crowded though quite a few on bikes, But they were all polite and rang their bell to alert the walking. If your into bird this seems like a good location.

erik Landriault

Amazing scenery, a beautiful place to walk, run, bike, play or just look at the scenery

Stefan Bounket

There are so many pathways (paved, gravel, and biking single-track) that it is basically a maze. Surprisingly, some decent downhill biking sections for in Calgary. I only wish the park maps would so the single-track trails as well. For the average park goer, it's gorgeous with a good mix of forested and grassy areas to wander through. There are multiple picnic areas as well, in both open grassy areas atop the hill as well as within the trees and along the river.

Jabroni S

Great pathways for walking and biking! The river running along makes it extra special with some beautiful scenery!

Jose Mejia

Huge awesome Park. I love to ride my bicycle there.

Heather Steyn

Lots of walking trails available to choose from. The best thing about living in the South of Calgary is this gem of a park. I frequently take walks there and it's also a great place for getting photos taken.

Eduardo Monjaras

Clean, green areas everywhere, nice place to relax.

Foreverblue

We are so lucky to have a park like this in our city. As a mountain biker I absolutely love having this park so close to home. A few minutes from the house and I'm in my happy place on the trails. The park offers a wide variety of trails for all skill levels from pavement to shale, to single track. Perfect for evening and weekend rides to burn off the stresses of the office. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can get back out there again.

Wenbiao Liang

Excellent park for an afternoon walk.

Laryssa Pugh

Amazing scenery, great walking paths. Wish there were more washrooms and waste bins along the way.

Jennifer Waugh

Paved paths, big trees, and wild birds. It is a wonderful place to run, ride a bike or explore the forest with the family. There are picnic tables throughout the park and smaller paths you can take so there’s always a way to find a quiet spot too.

Jimmy Donnelly

Great forest and trails to walk or bike on. Many washrooms conveniently located around the park.

Paul Isaak

A beautiful natural park that allows visitors to escape to to nature, without leaving the city. Great bike paths let you cycle, walk or run for over 35 km just in fish Creek, plus you can go further by connecting to the bow river pathway. Plus there are far more unpaved trails that let you explore woodlands, plains, forests, and many more ecosystems.

Tasha Czaj

Big and beautiful!

Jordan Ostapiuk

Awesome Ride across the entire park, from near Deerfoot all the way to the south Stoney Trail leg, bedside Woodbine. It was paved and also had natural single track trails to explore. Highly recommended!

Marcus

best place for hang out.

Mehran Moshiri

Beautiful place for walking and enjoying picturesque sceneries, streams and ponds, the only down side is some careless bicycle riders who passing by fast and unsafe without notifying you in advance.

Brandon D

I am surprised when locals don't know how large fishcreek really is! It is always an adventure walking through fishcreek!

Michelle Klassen

We are so lucky to live in Calgary! So many nature areas in city. Spent a good 4hrsish exploring off trail and south side across creek. Real cool. The trails have good scenery also. Great to take little ones for picnic and just burn off energy! Dog walking, bikes, joggers Great for everyone

Dennis Bil

Just a quiet relaxing place to walk, run or ride. Lots of wildlife.

John Wang (风正一帆悬)

This is a biggest provincial park in the city with longest biking and hiking trail. And meanwhile it's a good place for photographers to take pictures for the birds.

Jameel A

I had a motorcycle photoshoot here the other day and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was just as fall began and the colors and natural beauty was such a dopamine booster. The photographer told me that he had his wedding here and I couldn't blame him. Can't wait to come back!

Paul Fettig

One of my most favorite places on earth! So nice having Fish Creek Park in my backyard. Hardly feels like being in the city.

R C

One of my favorite places to go and relax. Go for a walk by yourself or hangout with family. The crowds are to bad most of the time. You can get away from the city but still be in the city. Its a huge park and the more you explore the more nice places you will see in it.

Judy Everson

Beautiful place to visit & spend time with family & friend's

Yolanda Campbell

Love going for our walk here

Ichiban Noodles

The west end has opened once again after some renovations done to the picnic shelters. Fish Creek in general is a great place to go for a walk or bike ride. They have added some public restrooms which were open today. Not sure if this will be the case when winter has arrived to stay. This time is also very brown, and the leaves are almost gone off the trees. Its much more beautiful in the summer.

Jasmin Chernecki

Beautiful natural place to walk in Calgary. So happy my aunt chose to get a memorial tree for my nanny here. Look forward to visiting even more often now.

Hannah Milligan

So beautiful seeing all the deer and the nice river and streams. Great walking and cycling paths with benches to take a break. Lots of animals to see.

Carolina Collao

Always a beautiful place to enjoy nature. Trees, grass, river, walkpaths, picnic areas. I need nothing else

Jennifer MacDonald

This park is massive, the is so much to do and see and it stretches so much of South Calgary. It's great for biking in the summer. It seems further out of the city than it is. There's just so much to discover. We really enjoy Sikome Lake in the summer and Bebo Grove. The ice falls in the winter are beautiful. There are so many little beautiful spots for photos and to just escape. Love this place.

Terry Warkentin

An excellent park within the city. Great bike/walking paths and pretty much as much wilderness as you want

Wendy Lybbert

Beautiful park! Big enough to feel like you are out of the city, and you can really get that lost in the woods feeling at times

Savannah McKinnon

This part of fish creek is absolutely my favourite, it’s so beautiful and peaceful to go for long walks, bike rides, long boarding or just to sit by the river! I highly recommend visiting Fish Creek Provincial Park!

1MC

Beautiful place to take a walk or ride with the family. It is so close to some communities but you can find a paceful place to enjoy.

David Deca

Just an exceptional park. More trails than you can possibly bike, walk, run or rollerblade on. Most are paved but there are many groomed gravel (fine red rock) trails also. More than a few off-road bike trails (marked as "use at your own risk") and some freshly made trails by avid trail bike riders. All in Calgary's backyard. The Fish Creek trails connect to the bow river trail on the eastern side, and to the elbow river trail on the western side. Bow river trail is spectacular. Interconnecting trails on the west side go past the rockyview hospital, through the glenmor reservoir, over the 14th st flyover, and will take you into the downtown area. This park is one of the outstanding elements of Calgary that make it an exceptional city - at least in the summer :-)

Shruti Dewan

I went to this park in the weekend and spend almost 4 hours.Amazing natural beauty with birds and butterflies around. The bridge view is just amazing around 6 to 7 pm.Simpy love it.I would suggest to carry 2,3 water bottles per head if your going during bright sunlight and put full sleeves clothes to toddlers as there are some points where there are lots of mosquitoes.

Steve “Choice Minis” Thomas

It is a park. The creek was easily located with a number of signs. Though I did not directly witness any fish in said creek, I can easily imagine that there are several who reside there. Five stars.

Kei Lei Tomshak

Fish creek park is a huge place with lots of sights to be seen. There is huge fields along with forests. The park is well maintained and is great for families and animal lovers

Max

A nice, quiet escape from the congestion of the city, within the city. It's a clean park with lots of trails.

Arina

Nice park for a quiet walk or bike ride, but not much fun for little kids.

Christopher Martin

When you live in Calgary you will hear a lot of people talk about Fish Creek Park. Good deal of it is it Provincial Park. It's an alright place to go if you're in the area.

Nishant Arora

Excellent provincial park in the middle of calgary. The day use areas are great, bring in your BBQ or wood and have a camping like day event.

Javier Cob Briceño

Such a nice park to go for a bike ride, to jog, to walk, to take your dog for a walk, etc. It's a great way to escape from the noise of the city and enjoy some time with nature. Pathways are well maintained and there's areas for picnics, bbqs and different activities

Felicia Ng

Amazing green space in the middle of the city. There something for everyone. A place to sit and take in the view, a place to walk or bike, and also space to explore.

Mallorie

Nothing beats a sunny afternoon in the park. The paths feel endless and while there are a few more congested areas (like Annies Cafe) you can still attain that “lost in Banff” feel - all without the drive! It’s spectacular to see how the river has changed the landscape over time, especially after the “big flood” and how the trees/shrubs are fighting back!

P K

Fish Creek Park is an awesome place to hike, ride a bike, have a picnic or just go, sit and relax in nature. I highly recommend it to anyone in any season!

Michael P. Liebekraft

Unforgettable parkland vista. Complete with Asphalt Trails. Minus one for crowds and lack of rubbish bins between picnic sites. Please people; leave it CLEANER than when you came.

Jarvis Palada

Great place to hangout with your friends or family.

Bo Li

Awesome place to chill, bike, jog and BBQ

Joel Klassen

My family loves Fish Creek! Some surprisingly challenging bike trails, and a few BBQ pits if you go to the right place. We have planned our house purchase around proximity to Fish Creek because we don't ever want to be too far away!

Fiona Murray

A great place to bring the family including your furry four legged members. Really handy with lots of access points and a variety of trails. Constantly in use regardless of the season. Great for biking, hiking, snowshoeing, walking, as well as working on how your dog handles wildlife. Tons of wildlife to see. Anything from beavers to deer, rabbits, and endless birds. Definitely a thriving park system to visit. Also enables bike commuting for people in the south portion of the city.

Amazing bike paths that lead to downtown Calgary. If you're lucky you get to see wildlife. It's a nice excape without leaving the city.

Monica McColl

Such a beautiful and important place. The friends of fish creek and their volunteer force are wonderful stewards of this natural gem. We took a private minibus tour and learned so much about the park and about beavers specifically from our guide Emma. We've already booked a return in August :)

John Tsimaras

Love it so much go to Fish Creek park at least two three times a week and never get bored as to how much it as to offer. Great mountain bike trails!

Chad “TheGruffalo” Bryant

Fish Creek provincial park sits in the middle of Calgary. Wildlife, including coyotes, elk, moose and the odd bear all travel the park at times. The park has a massive amount of pathways including asphalt, gravelled, and cut paths. There …

janet stretton

Relaxing place to take kids for family photos

Cheyenne Caza

Such a great park! However, Bebo Grove parking lot has been closed for far too long, with construction continually being postponed. They should really get that part open, especially for the upcoming busy season.

Heather Loreen

Beautiful! The bike path is divided which allows young toddlers to safely ride bikes. The vegetation is beautiful! Such a hidden gem in a busy city.

Cameron Johnston

This is one of the largest inner city parks in the world. While it does have its weed issues and lost flood damage it is still an amazing place to spend an afternoon, an evening, or a whole day. There is a great path system for bikes and walking and it is a dog friendly park.

Kylie Morin

Great little place to wind down in the evening. The sound of the wildlife and the scenery is perfect. There's a beaver dam and if your lucky you can see the beavers go for their evening loops around the pond.

Alissa Symes

Fish Creek is a great park! We love visiting the coffee shop to grab a latte to enjoy on our walks. The landscape is gorgeous, and the walking and biking paths are great. Would come here every week. :)

Trish Stanicky

Always a great place to walk, have a picnic or cook over the fire.

Brendan Shopland

Great park! not too busy (fall/late fall) but packs the scenery of a remote forest location. An excellent escape from the city!

Chris

As far as parks within Calgary, it really gets no bigger than Fish Creek. Very diverse areas within the park provide a lot of variety, and a mix of paved and unpaved paths offer something for everyone. I advise some caution if visiting during the winder months as many of the paths can be iced over. Otherwise, it makes for a great walk.

mario jr. potencioso

Iv been almost four years living here Evergreen Calgary since we came from Canada. For some reason I never got the chance come to this place until this year beginning of August this month. Me and my was already planning to sell the house we bought, but when I saw the place. I just told my wife right away. "Let's stay here". This park is the life we are looking for and It's just a pedal away.

Christina Gompf-Alksne

Nice place to spend the day. Tones of pathways, bbq pits and picnic tables. Feels like you’re not in the city.

QT Minx

Easy to Social distance here. Great place to go for a walk with the family. Numerous paved pathways allow for easy walks especially with strollers or wheelchairs. Benches are available in picnic areas and along the pathways. A great place to see wildlife such as deer meandering alongside the river. Bird watchers would also be pleasantly surprised. There are bathroom facilities available as well. During the warmer months come prepared with insect repellent. There is also an interesting bike/skateboard area at the entrance. All in all a great place to spend a quiet day with the family, to have a walk, picnic, bike ride or even have a paddle in the river.

Don Bender

There is some decent beaver activity at lake Sikome. Took our kids to see them. Loved every minute of it

Rod Millar

Michelia Alba

Beautiful place to have a walk or biking. Walking along the Bow river is so soothing. The parking place is also adaquate and there is washroom too. So nice. Not many people around also.

Brandie Sunley

This park is a gem. To find such a place within city limits is something that should never be overlooked! There are plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing. Two owls nests are visible to the public right near the visitor centre. Make sure you know where you are and how to get out of the park as frequently people do get lost. There's plenty of places to find solitude and feel as though you are in nature without the hectic feeling of the city. With all the pathways and trails you are going to have to visit many times to truly experience it all.

young young

Tranquil and beautiful. Flat trail along Bow River. easy to hike or cycling.

Kelly Marshall

Attended the Bow Valley Center on a field trip with my son's class. Really enjoyed the activities they had there. Is open to the public.

Some of the best inner-city Park space in the world. So many different things to see from one end to the other. Ravens Rocks is one of my favorites. All kinds of bike trails from paved to gravel to single track for Cross country. Worth a trip because you'll have to make.more than one. Gem of South Calgary.

Brian Lloyd

Chill place to hang out. Lots of good memories of Sikome Lake as a kid, memories of the extensive pathway system as an adult. Gigantic fire's to roast marshmallows... Is there a downside? Nope...

Lots of wildlife like deer, birds and pheasants. Anne's is a great place to grab an ice cream cone and popular hit for Pokémon go players. A big outdoor playground for the south of Calgary

Such a relaxing urban park. Don't miss it when you are in Calgary. Take a sunrise or sunset hike, you are sure to meet beautiful wildlife. One of my favorite places in Calgary.

Brittany T

Great park with lots of nice trails to walk or bike along! A nice spot to experience the outdoors here in the city without trekking all the way out to the mountains. It can get quite busy, but since it’s a big space it doesn’t feel overly packed. Not a ton of shade so make sure to bring a hat and lots of sunscreen!

Ryan Heagy

Calgary is blessed for having such a good urban park.

Sonia Garyayev

Its a good strip of wildlife cutting across the otherwise urban landscapes of calgary. I personally like the more groomed parks with cut lawns and flowerbeds, but fish creek is a good refeshing chunk of wildlife. Good place to go to if you like nature but dont like to hike far away from the city

Catlin Crawford

I love coming down to Fish Creek Park with the family now for 9 years and it's always a wonderful experience, while enjoying mother nature, everytime . The regions in the park have different permissions listing from swimming, fishing, walk/running, biking and campfire pits. Currently there's construction still happening in various parts of the park. I can't wait to see how it all looks afterwards!

Ken M

Great parking and a wonderful place to start a bike ride along the river front.

Lucas

It's a good park, with many things to do. Loved the expirence.

Cody Kneeland

Great place to walk and think. Lots of wildlife and paths. Need to be careful of your pets there, as in all park like settings. Its def a staple in Calgary landscape. Cindi L

Great place for an inner city walk! Bebo Grove is my fav.

Alice Weston

many changes have been made since our last visit. Lots of paths and various places to stop for a break or picnic. Loved what had been done to Bow Valley Ranch. Great venue for special events.

**

Ok what is not to love about this place. The only thing I hate is winter and not being able to ride my bike. Although many have switched to fatbikes with studs....hmmm. Tons of trails here, tons of wildlife, quaint little places to stop if you are looking to take a break. The interpretive centre just at the base of the hill is quite interesting. Great place to have events as I see them here all the time. You simply won't go wrong here.

Suresh Shenoy

Stephanie Wright

Wonderful park, I've been to a lot of the differences entrances and it's always beautiful, lots of wildlife and a good place for walking, biking, and running.

Carlo G.

Haha you can review Fish Creek? Clearly the best park in any city, there's no comparison for feeling like you're truly out of the city, while still being within 3 minutes of it. Good paved trails, good single track network, good everything. Lucky to have it in the city, and have it so protected from any expansion bleeding in.

Thomas Ireland

Brilliant place to relax, hike and checkout some wildlife

Morgan M

The West side of Fish Creek, just South of Douglas Bank Park is a hidden gem in Calgary. Go on a clear day and get great views of the mountains and the entire valley. The paths are well maintained (though under reconstruction as of fall 2017) and excellent circuit can be completed starting at Canyon Meadows Drive parking lot, across the river, then back South of the Bank Side lot.

Ed Ismael

One of my favorite photography spots! IG: @marv.photo for more photos at the park.

Christine Maurette

Great place for long walks and there is so much to explore. Great place for reconnecting to nature in a busy city. It's easy to forget you are in the city while here! Lots of areas for picnics and family barbeques. All of the park is on leash. The Ranche house and Annie's are great restaurant destinations. Look out for wildlife. Miranda Cates

I love this place, it's such a big park that you could spend a weekend here and still not see it all.

Yon M Brinkman

Really pretty. Can't believe it's in the city. It was quiet. Lots of bikers on the paths. We were walking but everyone was polite and careful. I really enjoyed it. Pretty creek and lots of maps to make sure you don't get lost. The restaurant hosts some bands apparently and you can enjoy the music as you walk. Watch for bears. Bear warnings posted last time we were there.

Ryan Hanson (Hardwired Wellness)

This is a beautiful park, and what better way to HARDWIRE YOUR WELLNESS then to get out to Fish Creek Park. Do a workout, walk, bike, Rollerblade have some hotdogs on the fire pits and so much more. It's up to you and you alone to build …

Issabella Strickt

Love that we have Such a large beautiful forest. I enjoy the feeling I get when I enter fish creek, Peaceful and uplifting... Takes my mind away from the busy day to day life of the city. I read once that every forest has its own unique feeling associated with it because everything within the forest is connected underground by thinner than hair mushroom fibres.. I forget what exactly it said about those fibres but do remember that they have something to do with the forest having its own unique personality and therefore having a different feeling you feel each time you enter each different forest.

AJ Hickey

Very quiet and peaceful no matter how many folks are visiting. Forewarning Washrooms are closed.

Pete Wheeler

Fish creek park is an excellent place to go for a nice walk or bike ride. The park has many walking and bike trails. Some are paved, some are not. All in all, a beautiful place to spend some time.

Tom Jacklin

Largest urban park in Canada! Best park you'll ever see in Calgary. It's kept in great condition and is an amazing place to take walks as well as bike. Fish Creek flows the entire length of it. Lots of different animals you'll see here including hundreds of bird species, deer, owls, and more.

Karina Cruz Tenjhay

You can just walk around, enjoy the nature, the sound of the water flowing through the river, it's perfect!

Michael Rounding

Oh my youthful exploits in this valley park, we lived backed onto it on the south-west edge (and my mom still lives there). Learning to mountain bike, night riding, climbing on top of bathrooms in the middle of the night (and getting caught by rangers), walking around in the middle of the night in bare feet (a failed attempt to toughen the soles of my feet)... Fish Creek is an awesome park. So much varied terrain from west (more forested and hilly) to east (wider open prairie feel), with everything from fire pits to single-track trails to gourmet restaurants (the Ranche restaurant, where we were married). I have nothing but good memories of the park, and continue to build more a generation later with my kids.

Jessica Dubiel

I love fish Creek park and the single tracks and off- trails it has to offer. If you know the place you can find many technical trails to ride on.

Great place to walk, hike, bike, or other activities. Love taking the family down for a close getaway that can feel like an escape from the city.

Annette Jerse

Huge provincial park within the city of Calgary. Paved and unpaved paths for walking or cycling. .Picnic areas. Plenty of wildlife.

Sheyne Bittner

Great inner city park. Lots of trails for walking, cycling, etc. Fun for all ages, well maintained and a good place for an afternoon of walking or a picnic. There are picnic areas as well as a few restaurants. The art walk area by the Ranch restaurant is well worth checking out too. This is a large park, with many access points, so you could go 3 or 4 times to different areas and never walk the same trail twice.

Cesar Pusztay

It's been looking good. Clean parking lots, some new garbage bins, pathways are well kept, benches at view points are clean. Can't never go wrong going for a nice walk to Fish Creek.

Ormagodon Online

Extensive pathways and lots of nature to enjoy Fish Creek is an amazing provincial park right inside Calgary.

Felicia M

This place is huge and I love it. There is a bunch of paths that are both paved and unpaved. It’s a great place for biking, walking, and water activities for the family. There is also a man made beach for those who are interested in going to the beach for the day or picnic spots for those who want to have a bit of a camp out. There are also public restrooms with maps and the name of the spot where you’re at and how far each place is from where you are. You can literally have a different adventure everyday here. We also had the pleasure of seeing different kinds of wildlife like deer and various birds.

Tayla Stevens

Great Park which spans almost throughout Calgary so there's always something new to explore. Especially love the South and deep north west ends of fish Creek. Great for dogs, biking, fishing, swimming and just walking around. Good spot if you need to get out into nature while living in the huge city of Calgary.

Donald Ironside

Very nice park. Well kept and a great place to visit nature

Kirsten Cowie

Fish Creek is a really gorgeous natural area. There are bike/walking paths throughout a huge portion of it, with lots of options to keep the loop entertaining and fresh. The snow removal is underwhelming, but good enough that you can get a good walk in without slipping or twisting an ankle.

Samantha Sabourin

We walk in fish creek up to 3 times a week its really great. Beautiful area. No trash. Lots of bike traffic. Great place to walk our 2 dogs

Reub M

Don't be parents that let their children go their whole lives not realising how great this park is like mine did. Wonderful place for picnics, walks, runs, and the best selection of sanctioned single track mountain biking in the city. Also a new pump track/skills bike park just built.

Luke Smith

This is a great park stunning and beautiful. It's very difficult to bike down the paths due to so much foot traffic on the weekends and equally as difficult to walk down due to the bike traffic it gets. I wouldn't reccomend going here on a weekend as it's too busy.

Colin Forsyth

Lots of walking trails through the trees and over creeks. Sikome Lake is a wonderful place to enjoy during the got summer days with its treated clean water and sand beaches. They're even working on a MTB skills Park and dirt jumps.

Victor Pidkowich

Love going here. Incredibly nice to recharge with a walk in Fish Creek Park. It's as though I'm not even in the city at all.

Richard Singh

This used to be the best park in terms of trails and recreation however since the floods things have changed significantly. I feel like the city doesn't know what it wants to do in terms of taking care of nature or trails. A lot of the great trails have suddenly been shut down to help with rehabilitation however Bebo Grove is completely ripped apart. Would love to see the park return to its former glory of nature and trails.

Adam Goth

I’ve been going here for 16 years and know every path, trail and viewpoint by heart. This is a very good place to come to with your family, friends or just yourself. The west side has some amazing views of the mountains and the sunset.

Rob Suik

Great biking trails, not too hard but enough up and down elevation to still have a decent work out. Went on a weekday and paths were not too crowded. Can't believe that there is such a beautiful place right in the middle of the city.

H3rta

Fish Creek Park is a provincial park located in the southern part of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It is the second largest urban park in Canada. Great place to get away from the city while still being in the city. Lots of trails, paths and routes for you and your family to enjoy a slice of nature.

Jason Martin

A lovely space for family photo.

Darianne Dawn

A beautiful wildlife park! Tonnes of pathways and places to explore. There is no off leash areas anywhere though and lots of park officers come around so there's no where to let the dogs run around.

Maya Satanek

Beautiful place for daily walk.

Doug Randall

Beautiful place for walk in the woods with paved and dirt paths. All year/All season sports - bike, skateboard , picnic tables, run , snowshoe, cross country ski on creek - and good for injury rehab & mental illness.

Carlene Robb

A beautiful place to walk or bike. Lots of trails

b1p0l4rbr4t

Nice walking area, but was badly damaged due to flooding. Still a good place to go. If anything, it could use a few more benches for sitting down and contemplating.

Christine Chalifoux

Beautiful place to walk and think about life. Just the trails were very icy

Isuru Ruhunage

A great place for a walk. If you are travelling in public transportation better to use c-trains to get there. You don't need to stick to the main routes. There are lots of small tracks with great sceneries. Following the river was exciting too.

Jana Cardozo

Great shallow lake for kids to play and cool off on a hot day. The management style has changed this year, they are more hands off now and don't reprimand you for allowing kids under 7 to be further than a meter from you

Selector 21

Very nice scenic location for cycling, good paved trails, a bit crowded sometimes but not critical, still can cycle using the bell more often

Kammryn Dancy

The park is great for all activities, I go for walks here regularly. Always quite striking views, and wildlife around all the time. Its clean, never trash strewn about, and a good place for pokemon go and geocaching.

Chloe

So lucky to have this amazing provincial park in the city! You don't have to drive a long way to go out of city for enjoying the beautiful nature! A very nice and lovely park!

abby kempt

Quite but nice park. The google map directed us to a wrong location near the real Fish Creek Park though XD It’s still nice for a dog walk.

Karen Barrows

Fish Creek is a beautiful natural experience and it is home to deer, coyotes, beaver, bear, bobcats, etc

gregory doyle

Still snow on the ground with patches of ice not packed very peaceful overall I liked it

Paul Wiebe

A great provincial park. Lots of access points from surrounding communities. Paved and unpaved walking and biking trails. An interesting variety of wildlife through the seasons.

Ana Pejovic

Great place to enjoy the nature!

Deniece Van Putten

Absolutely beautiful! If you would like to escape the city but don't have time to drive anywhere, I recommend Fish Creek Park. It really depends where you enter the park so you will want to look up the different entrance points and try out different ones, but at some spots it's like you are out in the mountains with giant trees and creeks. Great place for a walk, rollerblading, a picnic or a fire.

Amber Vergo

Fish Creek Provincial Park offers something for everyone. My personal favourite is Annie's Cafe for ice cream and cold drinks. The short walk to Annie's from the parking lot is steeped in Calgary history and gives you a small glimpse into our past. Stop in at the interpretative center for a history lesson or wander through Meadow Muse for some art and culture.

Cindy Archie

Great park. Great for walking, cycling, fishing

jeannine blair

Good for beautiful walk biking seen deer last time I went

Lisa M. Smith

This enormous urban, provincial park is one of the highlights of living in Calgary. Scenic, peaceful, and full of wildlife, it is a great place to walk, ride bicycles, bird watch, and so much more.

Chris Deschaine

Another of YYC's natural areas. Loaded with great paths for biking/walking. Great access to the river for some Blue ribbon trout fishing and plenty of places to picnic with the family.

Jonathan Kirkpatrick

Love this place. I live nearby, so take my review with a grain of salt. It's great to have a provincial park so close. Going for walks or bike rides in the evening is terribly easy. Speaking objectively, it's really nothing special except that it's massive and convenient. If you're visiting from abroad, there are probably better options.

Brad Randall

Beautiful place to ride your bike with miles and miles of pathways.

C. Reed

I love this area, its well maintained and is a beautiful spot to walk, relax and hang out in nature!

Erik Anderson

Very large, quite a lot space. If you're for a walk, there is little shade walking from Glennfield to Bow Valley Ranche. There are some dangerous areas around the river so be aware with younger children! It is a beautiful piece of land, however

N SAHA

Very good spot.

James Thompson

Great trails. Many park benches to sit and ponder, the Cloud Nine martini at the Ranche Restaurant crazy good, flickers pecking, a Canadian goose perched on a tree top and snow was still on the ground. I imagine summer is fabulous

MrDaley095

Love this park. Gets pretty bugy so bring your spray. Also, about months ago or so I believe a lady was assaulted somewhere along one of the trails. That was the only time I heard of anything but always good to be mindful and safe. It's my favorite place to get away from the city without going far

Lee A

Great place to walk, bike, run, fish

Erico Pollinese

Spent a lot of time here. It's better in the off hours when there is less people. It was best in 2020 when a bunch of the entrances were closed for renovations. Now everyone jams in there and ruins it by over populating the park

CJ Smallwood

A Calgary treasure, the uniqueness of a large provincial park nestled in a city is greatly appreciated. Bike trails, fly fishing, walking trails and even 5 star dining are available throughout.

Devin DeWilde

Daily rides help you forget your in the city????????

Olabisi O

My family and I had fun hiking the trails and watching the river, the bikers and dogs.

C Tanner

Fish Creek Park is a wonderful place to take a walk with kids the park itself is always well-maintained Pathways and roadways are always clear easy to find with the maps in the area parking is abundant and the rest facilities are always clean there is quite a bit of Wildlife from deer ducks in all kinds of the birds to even beavers can be found in the creek that supply the bow river

Ackerman Family

Loved this place. It was a super fun bike ride!

GEOFFREY GIBBS

Nice spot to park and walk for an afternoon. Quite busy on a midweek day so lots of bike traffic but its free and very well maintained.

PS 316

Went for a walk here. Very beautiful. Had a place to get food in the middle. Definitely want to go there again.

Mike McManus

Beautiful scenery and courteous pathway users. Only challenge is that I use a wheelchair and the paths rend to slant so it makes it rough in certain places (like hills).

CDY

I've been running in Fish Creek for more than 5 years and haven't even come close to hitting all the trails. Just a phenomenal urban park to walk, run or bike. Keep an eye out for wildlife (deer, beavers, etc).

Marcel Hertzfeldt

Great for an afternoon stroll, a weekend walk, biking, rollerblading in summer and snowshoeing during winter. The main pathways are well maintained. There is free parking in several areas where you get access to the park from different parts of the city.

Gord Vargic

A NATURAL RESERVE FULL OF WILD LIFE FROM CAYOYES TO AT TIMES EVEN BEARS. THIS PARK ALSO BOASTS A TWO PUNCH RESTERANT AND CAFE NAMED ANNIE'S OUR FAVORITE PLACE FOR FUN REFRESHMENTS.

Christine Pedersen

A huge park along the Bow River and other creeks. So beautiful and wonderful for walking, biking, picnics, fire pits and exploring. Ice caves are quite interesting. Great places to eat at Bow Ranche. Wildlife and bird watching and photography.

Alicia Granado

Fish Creek Park is one of my favourite places to relax within the city of Calgary. I love that there are so many different ways to get into the park and depending on where you want to walk or ride your bike- dense forest, grassland, by a river, hilly or flat areas.

Yogesh Sheta

Perfect park to visit for fall photography, biking, & family picnic.

Don Dickson

What a fantastic asset for the residents of the city of Calgary. Miles and miles of pathways paved and rough but something for everyone. Good for scooters bicycles, skateboards, inline skates and any other people powered implements.

Terry Gaehring

Great views , nice trails

Shirley Ostashower

Great place to go with the family. Lots to do from walking on one of the many paths to NBC biking. There is also a great lunch place called Annie's and they have the most awesome homemade bread.

Eric Belanger

Get lost in this park. You're still in the city? Yes, yes you are. Isn't that great? My favorite section is on the west side. More trees, hills, and great bike trails.

Katrina McGillivray

We had a lovely walk for about an hour on mostly well-groomed paths (unless you ventured off the paved pathways). It's a beautiful area of Calgary in the city that makes you feel like you are out of the city!!

Jesse Owlchild

This city park is a hidden gem. Wilderness right in the city limits. We were escorted to the parking lot by three deer acting as valets. Too bad the city deems it necessary to cut back on amenities such as OH let's see....BATHROOMS!!!!!!. Do not let that be a deterrant to dissuede you from enjoy this beautiful slice of outdoors in our backyard. It is well worth the compromise.

Jeannine

I visit Fish Creek often throughout the year. It is a beautiful and huge park right here in the city. The park is the home of many wildlife species, so I always bring a camera. Please do not feed wildlife! It is harmful to them!!! (In …

Ian Hornung

Love this area, love the pathways and the many access points and how wonderful it is to walk the paths and trails. Whether it’s biking, hiking, skateboarding, exploring or just chuckin rocks in the river my family and I just love Fish Creek.

A ANWT

This park is huge. One can spend hours exploring the trails on foot or by bike. There are a couple of small waterfalls which were frozen when we went there on Nov. 13, 2021. There's a restaurant and a cafe within the park too.

Robert Aukema

Great park within the city to bike. Can get busy on weekends, especially in summer

Cameron Kimura

Beautiful place to take a nice walk. Always go there to feed the chickadees seeds and what not. Wildlife everywhere. Beautiful little park

Sarah Breezy

Amazing place to visit no matter what season it is! Just had a bbq and fire and watched the sun set, May!! So beautiful. In the summer you have to get there very early to get a spot by the bbq, but there are many more things to do in the park.

Jon Horrock

Fantastic place to bike , walk , enjoy fishing and top rated restaurant if you wish.. Pathways are wide, public washrooms on site.

CS

Very close to Calgary and Coçhrane great place to go for aeasy hike.. not alot of parking and can be busy on a beautiful day. Views are amazing especially in the fall.

Ellen Gasser

Great place to walk, snowshoe, ski, birdwatch or do photography on a snowy winter's day!

Douglas Kenny

From birds, wild animals like deer, squirrels and most other species native to the area. Much like it would have been a century ago . The pathways and trails are well maintained and it's a great place in the middle of our city to go for a walk , jog with the family and the pets .

Craig Nicolson

Fish Creek itself is awesome; i love riding my bike on the extensive network of trails. My beef is with the wardens who manage the car park. I arrived at Voiter's Flats around 4:30pm to go for a quick ride. Around 6:30 i returned to find that the gates had been closed and locked and a note of sorts had been stuck to my window. Basically, the note advised that i was parked illegally as it was after hours and that i should "pay more attention" next time. I then tried to call various Alberta parks numbers, and even the city of Calgary (who gave me the same number), but no answer. Eventually i took a crowbar to the padlock and broke out; it's just as well i had one. Not sure there was an alternative other than sleeping there all night. My beef is two-fold. First of all, there were/are no posted signs detailing the park hours; secondly, on the "ticket", there were no numbers to call for assistance. All associated numbers (that i googled) rang out or indicated they were closed. I wonder what might have happened if i had been a single mom with young family members, or an elderly person who had been walking their dog. The Parks folks are really exposing themselves, and patrons of the park, to a sticky, and potentially dangerous situation. FYI, apparently they lock the gates at 6pm.

Peter McLaughlin

Clear paths for the most part. Riders and walkers civil and great at sharing the paths overall. Very peaceful and quiet, even with some family events. Tons of open space. Great to walk with your little one, family and solo exercising.

Shelly Rulli

I love Fish Creek Provincial Park!!! It is a massive park in the south of Calgary with Macleod Trail passing over it. The park is about 13 1/2 square km in size and has several entrances, parking lots and wonderful trails. Great place to picnic, walk, hike, ride, swim, birdwatch etc. I would recommend popping in to the Bow Valley Visitor Centre for interesting facts on the history of the park.

Christopher Schermuly

Can be busy in the car park but it was great to walk the well kept trails. Keep away from the bbq areas it's chaos

Maria Reid

nice area to walk through but dissapointed in lack of signs for pedestrians, also the "lake" had no water in it is this normal for fall or was it because of covid. the visitor centre was also closed and no heads up that the lake and beach were also closed

Karen Moses

Went to hulls wood area and explored the beaver. Was amazing planning a picnic and fire next time.

Larry Chanasyk

Nice open park.nice picnic areas and access to water. Nice place to visit. Room there even with social distanving and bigger crowds.

Helen Delaney

Great park by house, we walk out dogs here all the time. Really well taken care of.

Michael Mihhailov

Absolutely beautiful tranquil park with lots of trails and access to the creek. Great place to find shade and fresh air during hot summer days!

Alan Tate

Love it. So beautiful. Nice place for a small adventure walk

Jacob Groen

Excellent park right in the middle of the city. Lots of wildlife, hiking and biking paths. Rarely very busy.

R Lem (Rocks)

What to do on a hot heatwave kind of day...splash in the river of course!

Patricia Martin

Beautiful trails along the Bow River and its floodplain.

Dayna Palmer

Great place for walking and for the scenery!! Lots of paths and off path walking! Got the chance to see a beaver even! Great for the family as they have day use fire pits and bbqs too!

justin legal

So many bike trails!!

Jo-Jo

Lots of paved and gravel pathways, good for bird watching- owls, bald eagles, woodpeckers, chickadees, herons, etc. Prairie and woodland settings, waterways. Can get pretty busy these days, but you can still find a quiet spot.

Jessica C.

One of Calgarys' biggest parks. Has lots of valleys, paths, right next to a river and and creeks. A really fun park. One of the parks that could have things such as ticks, so if venturing in the grass make sure to do a tick check end of day!

Elspeth Burdick

Awesome place to take an early morning walk

Lee Hollinger

What can be said about Fish Creek park that has not already been said. Winter or summer the park is beautiful. Summer the picnic and grilling. Hiking for hours all the time if you quiet enough wildlife all-around. Winter x country skiing and more hiking. Again After the hike spark up the grill available in some of the picnic areas and recharge. You can spend the whole day there and not scratch the surface. Well worth the visit.

gail kowalchuk

Had great coffee at Annie's nice walk thru park and benches at lookout point very relaxing

Andrew Ferguson

Peaceful, quiet oasis in the midst of Calgary. Great for walking and mountain biking. Great fatbikingnin winter. Just don't forget to leave the parking lot before posted closing times...

Tasha Ulrich

We visit often between taking our dog for a walk, bike riding, picnics, weddings and in the past many School field trips. It is a different adventure every time. We always see wildlife deer, cyotes, weasel, eagles, owls, porcupines, even a lynx years ago. Respect this beautiful park and it will be here for all to enjoy for generations to come. There is so much to see and do.

MizLin Nordahn

It's a *man made lake*. . do not wear white the water will turn it *yellow/brown* .. make sure ya shower real good after. Bring a change of clothes. It's a *nice* place..

Elmer Marquez

Very nice place to relax, ride a bike and walk around. With picnic tables and fire pits too to enjoy lunch & snacks.

Marilyn Feeg

This is a huge park, with several entrances, from the SE to 37 St SW. If you're meeting a group there, be sure you find out which entrance, & get directions to that entrance. The history of this park is very interesting. Take a guided tour, if you can.

Craig Forester

Huge sprawling park spanning from southeast to southwest Calgary. Excellent paved pathways and trails for hiking, biking, walking or running. Some open areas, some trees areas. Nicest park in the city IMO.

JB? b

Many walking/biking trails. There are a few places to stop and eat. There are public bathrooms. Paths need repaving as they are quite rough. There are picnic tables and spots throughout the park.

Dale Oster

Wide open and uncrowded. Perfect.

Martina Walter

Gorgeous park, well maintained trails. It's beautiful and relaxing to be in. It's a huge park with so many places to explore! It can be busy but is worth the trip

Lorri Naumann

Many groomed and ungroomed bike trails. I've walked and biked in this park many times. Easy trails when you need them, harder trails. when you want a challenge. I always see lots of wildlife here.

Graham Smith

Elbow bottom to Bow Valley Restaurant great bike ride but bumps in terriable. No maintenance for years. Criminal!!!!!!!!

Simrat Aulakh

Such a great place to bring the family. Would definitely go back

Josh MacKenzie

It's a beautiful park. My only gripe is that it's majorly lacking in washrooms. I'm guessing due to Covid19, they locked up all the washrooms, which sucks of you want to go on long hikes.

terry vulcano

Great trails, signage a bit of a challenge to read when riding by - not clear when a trail continued or headed for the hills.

Rob Kulyk

Really nice park in the city, herons, beavers, deer, porcupines, red-tailed hawks, robins, coyotes and lots more animals seen on the regular.

Shaye Chalifoux

The pictures are a week apart. Gotta love Calgary weather.

Nice place within city limits to go for a bike ride / stroll and grab yourself and ice cream from Annie's

Juli Flemming

Always great spending time outside!

Sri Hruday Gandham

Just saw some deers enjoying out there in the dusk

Brad Landry

Great place to on a nice day. The paths are always clear (minus any natural events). I have lived near fish creek for almost 10 years and have gone jogging, biking, and most recently, brought my daughter for walks here. There is a but of construction going on right now with the addition of 2 man made ponds but other then that, great place to escape the city. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a place to kill an afternoon.

Johnny

Quiet river good view park suitable walk and BBQ

Lance Crump

Great bike riding area. Lots of paths.. well maintained..

Roland Hodi

Whether you want to hike or cycle, you'll have a great time at Fish Creek! I had a great time cycling into Fish Creek to test out my new camping gear by the river. (No garbage was left behind)

Atiya Chaudhary

Nice trails. A few benches would be good for some short breaks/rest :)

Mark Huskinson

One of the great inner city parks. Tons of wildlife!

Steven Ross

Such a nice area, enjoy walking around this area

Deanna MacPherson

The bow river is quite high right now and fast. Some of the path is flooded near McKenzie golf course along the river. Still beautiful and a lovely walk or bike ride. Please be careful with your pets along the side.

Charles Desrochers

Have not been to the park since before the 2013 flood. This park is large with many paved and gravel pathways, wildlife seems abundant, many different types of birds. The damage from flooding is still seen in many places but it is still worth a visit.

Dick Heenan

Great place. Main washrooms at visitor center (Bow Valley Ranch) have been closed since March 2020 "due to Covid". Thanks government of Alberta.

Darlene Abraham

It is sooo beautiful here! The Native Gardens include some very beautiful art! Pathways are well marked and all of the flora is so lush! The air is fresh and clear... and Annie's Cafe has great coffee, yummy ice cream and MANY other edible treats!!!

Jason Hansen

Great place for a walk. Love it there.

John MacDonald

A massive park with tons of space for your pup to run and play. Some dog owners need to do a better job of picking up their animal's waste. Easy to get to, decent amount of parking.

Garrick van der Lee

What's not to love about a huge inner city park. If you geocache, there are quite a few to find here. If you like to picnic there are plenty of places to go. If you like to bike, run, hike or walk your dog their are plenty of paths for you.

Tracy Wutzke

Love going there. Quite, good place to walk hike, bike, relax, waterfalls, trails, wild life. Lots of places for picnics. Highly recconend exploring.

Edward Schneider

Allways a treat.some very beautiful pathways to have a refreshing walk

Fernando Panattoni

Such a beautiful place to spend a few hours or for an entire day. Lots of nice Picnic sites and pathways.

Maureen Thompson

Wide open spaces in the middle of a residential area. Plenty of well placed picnic tables. This will be a perfect summer destination during the stay at home restrictions.

Great place, walking, cycling

Juici

Was great except for the white fluff. My son hasn't stopped talking about the fish park. Will be going back soon

Rebecca Sandberg

Great nature walk with the kids. Bit of trash. Would be nice if people cleaned up after themselves.

Dan Ell

A different experience for every visit to Fish Creek Park. Today was about ice cream at Annie's cafe and checking out the Ranch House at the end of Bow Bottom Trail South.

Amanda

Beautiful park. Barely any people on weekdays. It's quiet, you can be in one with nature. It has white hard core bile trails that include a lot of hills and challenges !! In always afraid to go there but I can see it as the bike paths always extend from main paths and you can see the sign of bike Plus a warning enter at your own risk lol

Dennis Whitaker

Nice park. Very big. Lots of room for families.

Melanie

We have lived near Fish Creek Park for over 20 years! Always enjoy it usually more than once per week any season!

Rick Holmberg

I was surprised at just how much space there was at the beach. Even on a 30 degree afternoon there's more than enough space to find a good spot. For being in the middle of a city it's a great day out.

Sheila Tibien

Great place to spend the day. Gets very busy on the weekends

Desa

So beautiful! This is one of the more marquis landmarks in Calgary and it's in my own backyard. Trails and hiking , scenery to behold. Wildlife of all kinds as well. If you visit Calgary you must take a nice long relaxing moment in fishcreek.

Steve Stringham

It's a very calming area. Walked down by Sikome, then down to the river. Lots of areas to go fishing, or just hang out and throw rocks in. Great family outing. Choose what activity you want to do it. There is walking, running, biking, fishing and in some areas outdoor pits(Reserve ahead of time). You can also go swimming and soak up the sun at Sikome. There is a charge to get in.

Adam Krasniuk

We love coming to this park, and try to daily when the opportunity is there. I have spent many years working in the Bush, fish creek park is an immediate reconnect with nature, the trees and the water.

A place of outstanding natural beauty. Plenty of amenities and family friendly.

Fun day out with your family walking running or biking on the trails

Richard Whitnack

Beautiful place but limited parking.

Penny Sutherland

A lovely mostly open space. Deer, ducks, birds and water are plentiful. Three clean, bathrooms.

Tom Liniarski

Really nice trails for biking, walking or rollerblading. Also lots of picnic tables and fire pits to do a BBQ. The west side of fish Creek (evergreen / woodbine) has lots of downhill biking trails to explore so close to home. Checkout the trailforks app for a map of the offroad trails.

TJ

Beautiful place especially in fall

Afruz Shams

My favorite park so far. Awsome

Stealth Roofingltd

I didn't like how ppl were fishing right where my kids were playing. I'm not sure if they can fish there?

What a beautiful day for a 10 km hike. Went from Votier Flats to Bebo and back. Still some ice and snow in the shady sections. Surprisingly not too busy

Chris Steeves

Lots of trails, some paved, some groomed dirt, some just worn down from use. Quiet place to enjoy nature.

Christie Faulkner

I absolutely love this park! I go here weekly. So many different paths to walk or bike.

Erick Phaneuf

Decided to come back where my story in Calgary began for a few years. Even with Deerfoot and highway 22 not far, you barely hear the cars if you do. The birds, many birds species and the sundown are so peaceful at the end of …

Mike Smith

Absolutely beautiful, filled with a great variety of wild life, birds and habitats.

Shannon Rennie

Great place for a walk. If you go in the evening there is less cyclists

Serena Liu

I enjoy coming here as well as my children. There are limited fire pits and it is first come first serve so keep that in mind if you're planning a day trip and want to use the fire pit.

Patrick Large

Fish Creek Park is a wonderful place for a day outing, or just for taking a quick walk/ hike in the city.

Prime Choice

We held a celebration of life and had a beautiful spot reserved.

Nancy Allen

Fishcreek is a wonderful place to walk, run or bike no matter the season. There are many access points to the park. In summer enjoy the creek and have a picnic. Always enjoyable seeing wildlife.

Diana Caron

Fish Creek offers tremendous outdoor access , great parking and a wonderful system of walking pathways . However the bike pathways are less attractive as an option . Although there are lengthy choices the ride is uncomfortable due to …

GGCC78

Great place to walk. Nice views and so colorful.

Morgan Bellmond

Great place within the city for a walk anytime of year. Lots of accessibility and parking options. Picnic tables and fire pits available. Covered shelters in some locations.

Rod Kruetzfeld

We live close to the park, so it’s not a big deal to us. But it is fantastic! The Ranche Restaurant is so nice to have 5 minutes away.

Michelle

I love biking in Fish Creek. Beautiful park.

Gracie D.

Probably one of the best provincial park in the southwest area of Calgary. Big open lot with plenty of fields for activities and so many pathway that you can just walk your dog or bike around. Really well kept clean and organized. Even have a nice washroom by the parking lot. Recommend.

Ken Mcinnis

Great park for morning walks. Beautiful scenery, not crowded.

Fionna Rouane

Beautiful Park! Although there are not as many picnic spots as their used to be or there not as visible it's still a great spot to visit on a nice day. For allergy sufferers there is a lot of poplars so be prepared before visiting

Jo-Anne Gilmore

Too crowded onthe weekend already. Great park for people walking or on bikes. Like the slow speed limit for kid safety. Also happy for the open washrooms.

Dragan Dojcinovic

Fish Creek is a beautiful scenic destination which serves south east / south west Calgary with many bike and walk paths. Always a great way to enjoy nature.

Crystal Barkman

I was pleased to see everyone practicing social distance while still enjoying the water and the company of others. It was a great day out with my kids

Therese

A very easy walk started from the end of Elbow Drive SW leading to the Fish Creek Provincial Park. All paths are paved, great for families for weekend visit.

Henry Ezeanaka

Excellent park in SE Calgary. The walking and biking trails are really cool. Nice place for a relaxing walk with family

Roy Su

I love this beautiful and quiet park. Very good place for a day hike and a weekend picnic with family. There is also a group picnic area which you need to book prior to using it. Incredibly beautiful in the fall.

CJ

Brought my dog here for a walk. Very enjoyable. Lots of people, biking, hiking, all were very pleasant, many paths. We took the path by the creek and through the trees which was the coolest pathway in 27 degrees Celsius and sunny clear skies. All dogs were on leash which is mandatory in all Provincial Parks. Day use only. Picnic areas, fire pit use only when there's no fire bans in place. Washroom and shelters available in some areas. Best to check out on line or information centers. Definitely a great place to go.

hina arshad

Beautiful park with nice trails

Paul Lecky

I love that I live close by this park as I try to go as often as I can. A walk with my wife is a nice escape and the paved trails and variety of hills makes for a great roller blade ride all the way to Lake Sicome and back. In the winter I pull out the cross country skis but wish the ski season and snow would last a bit longer but if you need a nice break this place suits the need for sure.
