Castle Provincial Park is my favourite spot to camp in Alberta (so far). Our site backed onto the river and we could hear the waterfall and sit our chairs directly beside the water. There are amazing views and great spots to walk. The campground is new and well-taken care of, the non-reserve sites are probably the best for views and river access. Note that there isn’t cell service so you’ll be off grid, a welcome change for some.

An absolutely beautiful spot to listen to the water rushing by and wind blowing through the trees. Plenty of clean and accessible bathroom facilities. Sadly, there are rules about loud music but nothing about someones dogs barking for hours on end! There should be an extra fee for irresponsible owners! Those were not the nature sounds I came to hear.

Best place to spend your vacation with family. Not busy like banff or jasper. Lots of campgrounds. Lots of lakes for kayaking. Lots of fishing opportunities. Lots of off leash Dog parks. The roads in this area aren’t the great. Wildlife is present and be aware of bear in this area and be bear smart while camping!
