Best thing we ever did was hire MC Painting and Renovations to renovate all our bathrooms. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to do renovations. The owner was very helpful during the design stage of our renovations, he helped us a lot in coming up with a design we liked, picking out the correct hardware and color scheme. The people who did the work were excellent can't say enough about the work they did for us. The one thing we liked was that it was the same crew doing the work, no sub contractors involved. Any problems were quickly explained to us and taken care of promptly.

It was a difficult job with lower than normal ceiling height requiring a complex approach to framing and drops. Frank and Kevin did the job and they made it all work out. MC Painting and Reno just completed the renovation of our en-suite bathroom, along with some minor electrical and drywall work elsewhere in the house. Doug and his team (Frank, Justin) were extremely helpful in providing design advice (they talked us out of some questionable ideas), and the work was completed to a high level of quality. His team is very versatile, so only the drywall finishing, and the supply/installation of the shower glass walls were subcontracted out. We highly recommend this company for similar work, and would recommend their involvement early - during the design phase of the project.

The lot is steep and offers very little space in between existing homes I have built and renovated many homes over the years and I new this was not going to be an easy job. Doug and his crew not only did a professional job but also offered insight in colour selection and future options to improve the look of our home. My husband and I have just finished having our house painted as well as having new flooring installed by MC painting and renovation. We are very satisfied with the quality of the workmanship and caliber of service. We had been planning a home refresh for quite some time but were always concerned about who we would hire as there are enough stories out there about blotched jobs and shoddy end products. This, thankfully, was not our experience with MC Painting. I found MC painting and renovation by chance when I saw their truck parked on my street. I went to speak directly with the driver who happened to be Jason the master painter and was directed to contact Doug Cheetham the company owner. Doug replied immediately to my message and came by to provide an estimate on cost and timeline. Doug has an eye for design and helped us pick up-to-date colours that would work with our current decor. Doug is also an excellent project manager. The scope of work started on time and completed without incident. Jason is truly a master painter and he and his fellow painter Christian painted every nook and cranny. Towards the end they were joined by Justin who ripped out the old carpet and prepped the floor. Then we met Barry and Ken who laid all the new flooring. They all worked tirelessly during a heat wave and did an excellent job. We had no sleepless nights worrying about the project as we could quickly tell we were in good hands. We have arranged for MC painting and Renovation to do additional work in our bathrooms and kitchen in late fall. We will provide an updated review when this work is completed -- we are confident that this work will be completed to our satisfaction and the updated review will be positive. Phase 2 reno review We are very pleased with our recent reno (mostly bathrooms and kitchen) --- excellent workmanship. The crew was punctual, courteous and professional. Doug had great design/product suggestions and was frequently on site. Frank is highly skilled in several trades. Justin did great at the demo and backsplash, and Jason showed once again he is a master painter

I am very pleased with the recent Kitchen Renovation completed by MC Painting & Renovation. I was apprehensive about finding a contractor who would deliver quality results, on time and within budget. MC Painting & Renovation met all the criteria and more… exceptional management & communication, quality workmanship & material and punctual workers contributed to the successful completion of this project. There were some minor issues that arose after the kitchen was complete, but they were dealt with in a prompt & professional manner. Doug has an excellent eye for colour & design. I was surprised that I selected kitchen floor tile, wall tile & counter tops in a couple of hours (with Doug’s assistance). I expected it would take more samples & shopping trips before making a decision. I then worried whether I had made the right choices until it all came together. Doug suggested to tile the wall around the window to the ceiling, which I agreed to, and to also tile inside the window return, but I somehow pictured a shower stall insert for soap/shampoo and was unsure how that would look in a kitchen. In the end I went with Doug’s recommendation & he was right… It looks great! I am very happy with the renovation & would not hesitate to hire MC Painting & Renovation again.

Doug acted as General Contractor on my "studs out" renovation of my White Rock condo. The project included all new electrical and plumbing, new windows, drywall with crown moulding, complete kitchen and bathroom. Wide engineered flooring completed the project. He and his crew did quality work and the trades people he used on the sub trades also performed to a high standard. Doug was also a great help in the selection of paint colors, appliance selection and bathroom fixtures, his suggestions and guidance were invaluable. I was very impressed that M.C. Paint and Reno considered doing a relatively small job. I had counters, sinks, taps, light fixtures and mirrors replaced in 2 bathrooms, as well as mirrored closet doors replaced with bifolds. Painting of the doors and limited areas in the bathrooms was also done. Their attention to detail was excellent. And they had no objection stepping up to do minor alterations/repairs elsewhere, for example, replacing a thermostat and changing an outlet, fixing a threshold piece, etc. They were skilled at what they were doing. They were professional and trustworthy. And the fact that they removed all replaced items as well as cleaning the job site each day was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend them.

In addition, while painting, a problem with the gutters over the garage was discovered; it was actually the supports for the gutters where a water leak had cause rot in the 2x4s. From requesting an estimate, staging of the site [Ram Board laid down across all floors, furniture all draped, zippered door to isolate the rooms under construction, and more], demolition and now re-construction and installation we have appreciated the commitment to communication, care and concern for the home owner, minimizing the disruption during construction, the organization of the project and cleaning up of the rooms and site at the end of the day, and a dedicated crew to getting it right the first time.
